    A casual Hotel in front of Kofu Station, within Tokugawa Castle grounds.

    On my first visit to Kofu to see a friend, I took the Limited Express Kaiji from Tokyo Station. A thin veil of clouds hung over the mountains, and the crisp air felt cleansing. The Hotel is located on the former castle grounds and has a casual feel with an open lobby entrance. There is automated check-in/out, an amenity buffet, loungewear available on each floor, and the Room was neither particularly good nor bad… but since it’s inside a castle site, I wished they had designed windows with more consideration for the view. It was fine for sleeping, but if you want to do some work, the table height and setup were not ideal. The large public bath exceeded expectations and was truly excellent. The open-air bath felt wonderfully spacious, and the dry sauna was well designed—I was very satisfied. It would have been even better if guests didn’t need to bring towels from their Room. The amenities also felt a bit dated. Breakfast needs improvement—especially the juices, which were quite poor. I wondered what everyone ends up eating. I was happy they offered a small bowl of hoto. It’s convenient, and I’d like to stay at this Hotel again.

    The Facility was clean, the location was convenient and close to the station, and I was very satisfied with the staff’s courteous service. Next time, I’d like to stay again with breakfast included. Thank you very much.

    Wonderful Hotel

    You can see the castle very close from the window! This Hotel has a wonderful atmosphere. It’s ideally located near the station. I’d love to stay here again next time.

    We had a comfortable stay!

    All staff were pleasant overall, and the check-in explanations were detailed and courteous, so I had no trouble during my stay. This time I booked a Multiple Night Stay for two nights, and the breakfast side dishes had a good variety with some changes each morning, so I enjoyed it without getting bored. As for the Room, on the first day we were assigned one at the hotel’s discretion; it was a twin Room with plenty of space. The second day’s Room (single) was simple but more than sufficient, very clean, and comfortable. It was also great that each Room has its own air conditioner, making the environment comfortable throughout. The only downside is that getting around by elevator can take time, so it’s best to allow extra time when moving around. In addition to the in-room bath, there is a large public bath on the top floor with panoramic city views, as well as an open-air bath, which made for a very relaxing experience. There are also good restaurants nearby, so unless there is heavy rain or similar weather, you shouldn’t feel inconvenienced. There are many affiliated parking lots nearby; if you park at places like Yodobashi Parking, you can choose covered parking as well, which made driving there feel reassuring.

    A wide range of amenities is available.

    I stayed for one night on August 1. Perhaps because it was a very hot day with a high of 39°C, I felt the air conditioning in the room was not very effective. There was a wide selection of amenities in front of the elevator. I went to the large public bath three times, and each time they were quickly replenished, so I never had any trouble. Breakfast was modest in size, but it was buffet-style with items already portioned into small plates rather than served from large platters, which made it easy to pick up. Everything was also covered with plastic wrap, so I had no concerns about hygiene. Next time I’d like to visit Yamanashi when it’s cooler, and this is an Accommodation I would like to stay at again.

    It’s hard to believe this is a Facility featured on IKYU.

    The bathroom has only a shower, and the sink is placed in front of the toilet. The bath towels are stiff and have an odor. The Room is small, and you have to walk sideways beside the bed to reach the window. I made a Reservation trusting IKYU, but this was disappointing...

    Used for business. V...

    Used for business. Very convenient location near Kofu Station, and overall I was satisfied. On minor points, it was disappointing that the two elevators took a long time to arrive after being called, and that it was difficult to secure enough space in the room to work on a PC. Breakfast had a nice variety with thoughtful touches.

    Room size

    I’m a returning guest. This time, I was surprised that the Room was small. I realized I need to be careful when I Reserve. The breakfast and Onsen were excellent, just like last time.

    Is there parking available?

    Conveniently located in central Kofu. Easy to use for business travelers. However, there is limited parking for guests arriving by car. We were directed to a contracted parking lot, but it was a bit far and slightly inconvenient. Breakfast was served in small individual dishes, which reduced waste and was very delicious.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    This was my second stay, and I stayed alone this time. The Room was assigned, but it was comfortable and I was very satisfied. For breakfast, you choose your favorite small dishes and place them on a tray; the local ingredients were well used and everything was delicious. Since I wanted to enjoy the Onsen, I’m glad I didn’t make it a rushed day trip. Next time, I’ll come again with my husband. Thank you very much.

    An unfinished drink left in the refrigerator by the previous guest.

    When I opened the refrigerator, there was still a half-finished coffee milk drink and a bottle of water left inside. I couldn’t tell how long it had been since it was last cleaned. It felt unhygienic and made me feel sick.

    A delightful surprise: such a wide variety of breakfast options

    I really enjoyed the breakfast. A variety of dishes were served in small bowls, making them easy to pick up and eat, and everything was delicious. The Room faced Kofu Castle, but since it was on the third floor, we had to look slightly up at the stone walls; a Room on the opposite side with a view of JR trains might have been more enjoyable. If you choose the Kofu Castle side, I recommend a higher floor. The staff were cheerful and kind overall, but it was disappointing that a few were somewhat cold in their response.

    The Facility was clean, but our Room was lower than the road in front of the property. I wanted to change Rooms even if it cost extra, but I was told it was fully booked and couldn’t. I chose this Hotel expecting a good view, so I was disappointed.

    A safe and reliable Hotel

    I’ve stayed here many times, and it’s always clean—a quiet Hotel where you can truly relax. The open-air bath on the 13th floor is especially wonderful at night. It’s often almost like having it to yourself, which feels incredibly luxurious. There are Business Hotels with open-air baths in my hometown of Yokohama as well, but they’re often crowded even late at night, so it’s hard to unwind. I love spending time in a quiet place with few people around, and this Hotel is exactly my style in that respect. I’m also impressed that the mirrors in the large public bath are always spotless. I imagine it takes a lot of work to maintain, but everything is well cared for down to the smallest details, which makes me feel at ease. From the assistant manager onward, the entire Hotel feels well managed throughout—this is one of my favorite Hotels where I can stay with complete peace of mind.

    The curtains are...

    It was conveniently located just a short walk from the station, with the castle ruins park right behind it. The Room was comfortable, and I enjoyed the delicious breakfast. However, since my Room was on the second floor and faced the road and nearby buildings, the curtains—while stylish—were somewhat see-through, so I would appreciate it if that could be improved.

    Neither good nor bad.

    Its convenient for guests traveling by train, as it is close to the station. There are also plenty of shops, including restaurants, making it very convenient. Other than that, there is nothing in particular to note, but there are no major drawbacks either, so it should be a safe and comfortable place to stay.

    Great location and very clean!

    I made a last-minute Reservation and left the Room type up to the hotel. I was a bit worried, but I was given a double Room with a large bed and had a very comfortable stay. The Room was clean and well equipped—nothing to complain about. I could even see Mt. Fuji from the Room, which felt truly uplifting! In the evening, I also enjoyed the wine bar in the lounge. I used the large public bath in both the evening and morning, and it was comfortable without being crowded. Personally, though, I felt the water temperature was a little on the lukewarm side. The location is convenient, and the staff were friendly and attentive with warm smiles—I’d definitely like to stay again!

    Very satisfying for a business hotel.

    I visited Yamanashi again in early April, but since I was traveling with friends, I stayed one night at Kounaya Hotel, which they wanted to try. I “cheated” this time, but it made me realize again how much I love the concept of this Hotel. It’s true that having Benjarong inside the Hotel and being able to have dinner without going out is appealing, but when it comes to the Onsen, this Hotel wins by far!! Especially at night, soaking in the open-air bath while looking at the stars and moon is such a wonderful experience—and it’s not crowded. The Room and the Onsen areas were spotless everywhere. The breakfast buffet was also very satisfying for a business hotel—both the variety and quality were high. The usual hamburger steak was gone, but they had fried shrimp instead, which felt like a lucky bonus. The bread was great in both texture and flavor. I’m not usually a fan of curry, but for some reason I can eat only this wine curry here… strange! One of the serving staff—an older, shorter lady—kindly explained everything in detail no matter what I asked. After Golden Week, once things calm down again, I’d love to stay here once more and enjoy some relaxing solo time.

    I came to Kofu because I wanted to stay at a castle Hotel.

    If you want to enjoy the Onsen casually and rest at a relaxed pace—while keeping travel quick and easy—Shiro no Hotel is ideal, with great access just steps from the station. It offers thoughtful amenities that make solo stays for women especially comfortable: cosmetics, an aromatherapy-scented entrance to the bath area, and a secure Onsen with women-only access. In your Room, you’ll find ReFa hair oil and a hair dryer, plus a bed that’s wonderfully comfortable. Above all, the delicious breakfast with a wide variety of small dishes will make you want to come back again and again.

    Breakfast

    The breakfast buffet was very delicious. Each side dish was served in a small plate, making it easy to take, and it was great because it helped prevent taking too much! It was a tasty breakfast with plenty of local specialties.

    A conveniently located Hotel near the station, with impressive views and an Onsen.

    I felt this was a great value Hotel. It’s conveniently located about a 3-minute walk from the JR station, making it very easy to get around. There is also an Onsen, and with the nice views I was able to relax and unwind. On the other hand, breakfast may be a matter of personal preference. It mainly features distinctive local dishes, and while some items didn’t quite suit my taste, it did offer a good sense of the region.

    Almost perfect. The only thing missing was a washcloth or sponge for showering. Otherwise, everything was excellent—location, price, service, and amenities.

    A Well-Appointed Hotel

    The location was convenient, and the Facility, guest rooms, and amenities were more than sufficient—excellent value for the price. I also appreciated the tasty breakfast and the small drawstring bag provided for going to the free drinks area or the large public bath. It is more than adequate as a Business Hotel. I felt that greetings and interactions could be a bit warmer.

    Arrived around 8 PM and checked out before 9 AM the next morning, making it a short stay, but I was able to relax completely. The location is excellent right in front of the station, with a castle just across! The Room is compact yet efficient and easy to use, with a spacious bed that allowed for a great night's sleep. The public bath I used early in the morning was clean and provided a relaxing experience. Being able to choose amenities and loungewear individually was helpful, especially for someone like me who needs larger sizes. All the staff were incredibly kind, and I felt comforted by their sincerity and warm personalities typical of Yamanashi locals. It’s clear that this Business Hotel maximizes its strengths while offering thoughtful touches throughout. I hope to visit again someday. Thank you for your hospitality!

    I had a pleasant stay.

    I stayed here last weekend. Although I was a bit confused about how to use the elevator and some facilities, the staff were friendly, kind, and helpful. The bed was spacious, the Onsen was relaxing, and I had a very comfortable stay. I enjoyed the Onsen in the morning and ended up having breakfast just before the closing time. However, the staff kindly accommodated me, and I had a delicious meal that left me with wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

    The hotel was very close to Kofu Station and extremely clean. The onsen was amazing, and the view from the rooftop was beautiful. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Kofu.

    Toilet Room

    Overall, the Room was clean and the Facility was modern and well-maintained. However, the public bath and open-air bath were small and could not be considered a large bath. Additionally, while the bathroom and toilet are separate, the toilet is too small and may feel cramped for those with claustrophobia.

    Kofu is the perfect choice!

    I revisited because my stay during New Year's was very comfortable. The staff at check-in were kind and helpful this time as well. The Room, large public bath, and the entire facility were clean. Since I chose a Plan without meals, I look forward to enjoying the dining experience next time. The location is convenient with close proximity to the station, and there are convenience stores and supermarkets nearby for anything you need. Great value for money, I am very satisfied! I highly recommend the stunning view from the open-air bath!

    The Room is compact but includes a large public bath, which is satisfying. The breakfast featuring local cuisine was also satisfying. Loungewear is available at each elevator hall, organized by size. Everything is efficiently arranged, making the stay comfortable. I would like to use this place again if I have the chance to visit Kofu.
