    Highly recommended.

I stayed here for the first time on my return to Hakodate after a long time, choosing it for its great access and high ratings. It’s conveniently located just steps from Hakodate Station, with the morning market right in front, and I loved the Room, the view, and the bed. The Onsen open-air bath was also wonderful. If you don’t need a lavish breakfast buffet, this Hotel is a great choice. One small point: I unfortunately didn’t like the coffee from the coffee machine in the 17th-floor lounge—it tasted surprisingly strong. Have the staff tried it? The lounge atmosphere is very nice, but I couldn’t fully relax there. It might be nice to have some refreshing drinks available after bathing. Tea bags for drinking in the Room were available near the elevators, but I would have appreciated drip coffee as well.

    Poor cleaning.

There was an unpleasant odor and mold in the bathroom, and the loungewear also smelled. I would like to see improvements to these basic services.

    Hakodate Nights

I stayed for one night from 6/4 to 6/5. The Hotel is right in front of the Hakodate Morning Market, so the location was excellent. The large public bath and open-air bath on the top floor were also very nice. However, they are not very spacious, so I recommend checking how crowded it is before going in—there was even a line waiting for lockers in the changing room. It’s a Hotel I’d like to stay at again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    Very convenient location

It was in a very convenient location, close to the station and within easy reach of the morning market. The view from the open-air bath on the top floor was also great. We will stay here again next time we come to Hakodate.

    The Room was clean.

We had a great time in this corner Room, which has large windows in both the Room and the Onsen—enjoying wine while taking in the night view and relaxing in the bath. For breakfast, we had a rice bowl at the morning market right in front of us.

You’ll definitely want to stay again.

This was my first time visiting Hakodate. The view from my Room at Tokyu Stay Hakodate was amazing—I could see the mountains, the sea, the morning market, sunrise and sunset, and even cruise ships. And there’s an Onsen too! Absolutely perfect. I’ll definitely be back again and again, flying in from Haneda to stay here.

    It was excellent.

Because we wanted a Hotel close to Hakodate Station and the Morning Market, with a large public bath, we chose Tokyu Stay. With the Morning Market right in front of the Hotel, my mother and my uncle and aunt who went shopping were very pleased (which also explains why it’s in the Hotel name). The large public bath on the top floor and the lounge just below it were both excellent. In particular, the view of Mt. Hakodate from the lounge was stunning. The Room was also very clean, and we had a comfortable stay. I visit Hakodate regularly, so I would definitely like to stay here again next time. Thank you very much. *The attached photo was taken in the lounge in the morning.*

After a lot of twists and turns, I finally made it!

We stayed for two nights. The in-room Onsen was slightly lukewarm, just the way we like it. Opening the large window turned it into a semi-open-air bath with an ocean view. We were satisfied with the breakfast at the morning market. We were surprised to find an ice cream shop inside the Hotel, but unfortunately the staff’s service wasn’t very good.

    Excellent location

A Business Hotel close to the station with an Onsen. I usually like Hakoviva’s Hotel, but this time I chose Tokyu Stay because I wanted to pack lighter and they have a washing machine. After changing into the in-house loungewear at night, I did my laundry. Putting on clean clothes the next morning also made packing my suitcase much easier. I’m not a big fan of morning markets, so I skipped breakfast (I recommend Jiyu Market, which is less crowded and has fewer aggressive vendors), bought a yakitori bento at Hasesto near the station, and ate it in my Room. The Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable. The Onsen had a great view from the ocean-view open-air bath. However, there were a few insects floating in the water—unavoidable, I guess. The hot spring water is diluted with added water. Since I was able to make a Reservation at a reasonable price, overall satisfaction was high.

    We chose this Hotel ...

We chose this Hotel for its Onsen, the in-Room mini kitchen, and great value for money. It was also nice to enjoy free coffee in the lounge. The staff were kind, and the Hotel was clean. However, a lot of dust had built up around the ventilation areas in the Room and washroom, so it would be appreciated if extra care could be taken during cleaning. Thank you for allowing us to relax and enjoy our 2-night, 3-day stay.

Stay in a Room with a private Onsen

This was my first stay. I stayed in a Room with an Onsen, and the view from the Room was great. The Room was also clean and well maintained. The front desk staff provided clear and courteous explanations. Overall, it was a very good experience. I would like to stay here again next time.

    First time using this service.

I had noticed this Accommodation when I visited the morning market before, and I decided I would stay here next time. The staff were very kind, and the Room was clean. Having a changing area and washing machine next to the private bathroom, plus a mini kitchen and washbasin area, and a bedroom space made it incredibly convenient to use. I’d like to thank whoever designed this layout. Next time, I’d like to choose a Room in this category again. It was quiet and relaxing—I didn’t hear any noise from other rooms. The view was wonderful, and the location is perfect for grabbing breakfast, shopping, or going out for drinks. The station is also close by. My mother accidentally left something in the safe, but they contacted us right away. Thank you very much.

The food at the morning market is excellent.

The location is very convenient, close to the station. However, during snowy season, even so it’s tough to walk here with a suitcase (it’s better to ship your luggage from home). They give you breakfast vouchers for the number of times you need; they are valid for one month from the check-in date. They can be used anytime during the morning market shops’ business hours, which was very convenient. Over three nights, I enjoyed a seafood rice bowl for brunch, kamameshi for dinner, and ramen in the morning. The rooftop panoramic bath has a great view—so good that you don’t even need to go up Mt. Hakodate at night (lol). But on windy days it gets extremely cold, so be careful. It’s also convenient that you can have coffee in the lounge most of the time. The only inconvenience was that there was no closet or drawers in the Room. In winter, with a thick coat and spare snow boots, I had nowhere to put my clothes. It probably depends on the Room, but just having a wall-mounted hanging rack wasn’t enough, so I left my suitcase in the unused bathtub. The lounge on the 17th floor has a nice atmosphere and an excellent view, but the evening pub time is too short and not very practical. I felt it might be better to discontinue it and add more vending machines instead. The price is reasonable and I think the Facility is good overall, so I’d like to stay again.

The operational system for the Hotel is not yet established.

As mentioned by others, the operational system feels underdeveloped. Both check-in and check-out processes felt awkward, and there was a lack of sufficient explanation. The staff also appeared to have gloomy expressions. Cleaning seemed inadequate as well. Although it was a room with an open-air bath, when filling the tub, several strands of hair and residue floated on the surface of the water. I had to drain it once and clean it with a shower before use. Since Hotel Tokyu Stay is expanding across the whole country, I found it puzzling why their operational standards are not uniformly implemented. Given that it was an affordable hotel, I thought this might be unavoidable...

    Long-term stays are also recommended.

The room's bath offers beautiful views, and the room is equipped with appliances such as a microwave and washing machine, making it perfect for long-term stays. I was very satisfied with this accommodation.

This is a well-designed breakfast system.

One highlight of Hakodate sightseeing is the seafood rice bowl at the morning market. Including this as breakfast doubled the enjoyment. While choosing a restaurant can be overwhelming, it was reassuring that the selection was narrowed down to 19 partner restaurants contracted by the Hotel.

    Unfortunately.

The room had a washing machine and microwave, which were very helpful for a Multiple Night Stay. However, I was looking forward to enjoying the bath when I made the Reservation, but unfortunately, some guests' poor manners were disappointing. Some brought towels into the bathtub, used their phones in the bath, or left with their bodies still wet. Even after enjoying a relaxing bath, it was unpleasant to change clothes in areas with water puddles, so I wiped them up with a mop. I hope the Hotel could provide more reminders about proper manners.

    Sightseeing

A girls' trip to Hakodate for two. Although it was just a one-night stay, we had plenty of time for sightseeing. We chose this Hotel because it has a large public bath. Depending on the time, there was some crowding, but the bath area includes both an indoor and open-air bath, both spacious and satisfying. The hairdryer provided was ReFa, with strong airflow that dried our hair quickly. The Room was relatively spacious and did not feel cramped even for two people. The lounge on the 17th floor offers great views and complimentary coffee. One of the highlights is being able to choose your breakfast from over 10 designated restaurants at the morning market. You can select from several set meals, which made for a very satisfying breakfast experience. It’s conveniently located near the station as well. I would love to stay here again!

Morning market, port, and station right in front!

This was my first stay in Hakodate. Hakodate is famous for its beautiful night views, and I truly felt immersed in that beauty. The hotel is conveniently located near the station, allowing me to leave my luggage and explore the city by tram. I enjoyed the iconic sloped streets, passed through the red brick warehouses, walked along the port, and returned along the seaside. The location is incredibly convenient. In the evening, I visited an izakaya near the hotel, located in the morning market area, which also operates at night, and enjoyed fresh seafood. The room was equipped with a mini kitchen, washing machine, and microwave, making it very convenient and practical. The highlight was the bath on the top floor, which was incredibly relaxing! Though small, it featured both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, with stylish and clean washing areas. The view from the open-air bath was stunning, making it hard to leave. The hairdryer at the vanity was excellent, and the same one was also available in the room. After the bath, I relaxed in the observation lounge one floor below, where the night view was breathtaking. The next morning, the view from the bath had changed, offering a different but equally wonderful experience. For breakfast, since I had already enjoyed seafood the night before, I opted for local bread, including Hokkaido-exclusive items, purchased from a convenience store and prepared using the room's mini kitchen. The only regret was that the ice cream shop on the first floor was closed in the evening, so I couldn't try it! Next time, I definitely want to give it a try. This hotel was very affordable, convenient, and absolutely satisfying. I would love to stay here again!

    Highly Satisfied!

I stayed for a 2-night, 3-day trip from Chiba Prefecture. The Facility was impeccably clean, and all the staff were very pleasant. The Room was equipped with a drum-type washing machine and detergent, which was very convenient as I only brought a laundry net from home. It was especially helpful to be able to dry items like hoodies that are hard to dry. Additionally, the morning market accessible with the breakfast voucher was lively and enjoyable to explore. Thank you for helping me fully enjoy Hakodate! I would love to stay again. Thank you!

    Conveniently located near the station

Stayed for one night. Overall, it was satisfactory. Positive points: - A Room with a great view was prepared upon request. - The large public bath, especially the infinity open-air bath. - Close to the station and nearby restaurants. Areas for improvement: - The elevator takes too long to arrive. - Surprised to see guest room staff sharing the elevator in the morning. - The bed was too soft, which made my body feel tired. - No mineral water provided in the Room. It would be nice to have at least one bottle available.

    Conveniently located near the station

This was my second visit to Hakodate. The first time, I chose a Hotel with a luxurious breakfast, but this time I opted for "Akari no Yu," where you can enjoy breakfast at the Hakodate Morning Market. Since it’s Hakodate, I chose a dining spot where I could eat squid. I had read comments about the bath being small and was worried about potential crowding, but although there were only two sinks in the changing area and I had to wait to use the hairdryer, it wasn’t too much of an issue. The view of the port town's nightscape from the top-floor bath made me feel like I was truly on a trip and left me very satisfied. The staff's service was also excellent.

    Recommended for budget-friendly travel

Great value for money. - Cute interior design - Decently sized refrigerator - Refa hair dryer and shampoo provided - Two Onsen options (indoor and outdoor baths) - Two types of pillows: firm and soft - Plenty of outlets in the room - Warm and friendly staff service - Convenient access from the station As a sauna enthusiast, I did miss having a sauna, but overall, I felt very satisfied staying here during my visit to Hakodate. Thank you to all the staff!

    Satisfied again this time.

Stayed here after a year. The room having a washing machine is really convenient. There's also an open-air bath on the top floor. From the lounge below, you can enjoy great views of Mount Hakodate. The morning market is right in front, and there’s a convenience store and Lucky Pierrot nearby, making it very convenient. I’ll definitely stay here again when visiting Hakodate!

Close to Hakodate Station and Hakodate Morning Market, breakfast and dinner were very convenient. The Room had a mini kitchen and laundry facilities, which were very helpful. Recommended Accommodations

This accommodation was my first time staying here, and it is conveniently located near the station. The room had a drum-type washing machine, and both the public bath and the room featured ReFa hair dryers and showerheads, adding a luxurious touch while being reasonably priced. I was very satisfied. The lounge on the 17th floor offered great views with a wide variety of drinks and delicious ice cream options. The ice cream shop on the first floor also seemed popular, bustling with customers. It was an accommodation I would highly recommend!
