    The afternoon tea is delicious.

I stayed with my husband and a friend (three of us). This was our first time at this Hotel; previously we stayed at the Shijo location. The amenities at the station-front location were better. They had face masks and hair oil, so it felt very well stocked. The afternoon tea also felt satisfying, and the chilled zenzai and soft-serve ice cream were very delicious. There was also matcha, which was great. Above all, the Room was quiet. We were on the 7th floor of a Hotel facing a main road, but we couldn’t hear traffic noise, and I don’t think we heard any noise from neighboring Rooms or footsteps in the hallway either. The three of us even commented on how quiet it was. As for the drinks during cocktail time, they offered small canned beer and chilled sake (as well as soft drinks), which was nice, but the snacks were a bit underwhelming—just pickles and nuts. I’d love to see something with a little more effort. At the Shijo location, afternoon tea was not as good—muffins, chocolate, nuts, something like Oreos—and during cocktail time they served something like a snack set. In addition there were nuts, kombu tsukudani, crackers, etc., and for drinks there were craft beer, wine, sake, and soft drinks. If you stay at either Hotel you can use both locations’ services too, which feels like a great deal—we used that last time as well. We come to Kyoto to relax slowly because of that. Thank you very much for taking care of us. We visited for my husband’s birthday and also received a small gift. I would love to stay again. Breakfast was also very delicious—beef shabu-shabu-style dishes (and more), chirashi sushi with lots of toppings/items available in many varieties.

    A Comfortable Hotel

I stayed for a total of two nights and was able to work comfortably. There was a desk and chair, and the chair was comfortable to sit in. From noon, there was a time when I could enjoy sweets, tea, coffee, and more, and from the evening there was a time when I could enjoy alcohol and snacks—making for a pleasant change of pace between work sessions.

    More than just a stay!

Following last month, I stayed again this month. Last month, there was a free Reservation-only event where guests could paint a clear glass wind chime. This month, there was a free Reservation-only event where guests could paint a white fox half mask. I was staying alone, but I joined during breaks from work and it was a great change of pace. There are always thoughtful touches to make guests’ stays more enjoyable, and while I’m sure it’s a lot of work for the staff, this place offers more than just checking in and sleeping. I’m looking forward to staying again.

This Hotel offers attentive, thoughtful service.

It’s about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, making it very convenient to get around. The Hotel offers a variety of thoughtful services, and the rooms were well maintained, clean, and comfortable. The only downside is that the soundproofing is somewhat weak, so noise from the hallway or outside can be easy to hear while sleeping.

Great lounge and breakfast, excellent value for money.

The Hotel is very clean, and you can choose the amenities you need, so nothing is wasted. It’s also a great service that you can use two lounges, including the one at Shijo. There are affordable coin-operated parking lots nearby, and the front desk kindly explained them in detail, which was very helpful—but if I had to say one thing, it would be perfect with a partnered parking lot. I would definitely stay again.

    I do a local “hotel ...

I do a local “hotel staycation” a few times a month. I’d been interested in Richmond Hotel Premier Kyoto Ekimae because the Reviews are so good—this was my first stay. First of all, the front desk staff were wonderful, with great service and warm smiles! Considering the lounge service is included for all guests, it was more than sufficient. The soft-serve ice cream and warabi mochi were delicious. During social hour there wasn’t much alcohol I could drink and the snacks were a bit disappointing, but my partner seemed very satisfied and said the beer and sake were great. Everyone else looked like they were enjoying their beer too. I wish they had sparkling water. I was really looking forward to breakfast! The beef shabu-shabu, seafood rice bowl, and more were delicious. The space is small, so crowding is an issue. You can check how busy it is on the TV monitor, but even though we stayed Sunday night into Monday morning, it showed “full” for a long time. Also, the elevators took quite a while to arrive. There was a good selection of amenities! What made me happiest was the hair oil. The body towel was fluffy and felt great to use. The face masks were nice too! I’d prefer an Onsen or large public bath, but the in-Room bath was separate (toilet and bath) and easy to use, which was great. However, maybe because there’s no step or due to drainage issues, water tended to leak out easily. It was nice being able to see Kyoto Tower from our Room! We also got to make wind chimes, which became a great memory. Above all else, most of the staff provided excellent service. I’d love to stay again if I have another chance—and I’d like to try your Shijo location too.

The breakfast was excellent and very satisfying.

From the moment I entered the Hotel, it felt very clean, and all of the staff were courteous, which made me feel at ease. The best part was the outstanding breakfast. Just as in the Reviews, they offered the famous beef shabu-shabu, along with seasonal ingredients such as pike conger and a great selection of obanzai-style side dishes. The quality of the steamed white rice was exceptionally high. Overall, it was very satisfying. It’s also about a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and there are plenty of nearby dining options, including a kushikatsu restaurant. Thank you very much.

    Clean, delicious, and relaxing.

I checked in late on a rainy day. The front desk staff were courteous, and the guidance was clear and smooth. There were unlimited drinks and snacks on the floor, so I was able to relax even on my own. Breakfast was excellent. I went in right when it opened and there was already a line, but thanks to efficient service I could enjoy a delicious, relaxing meal. When I made the Reservation there were no outside Rooms available, but since it was late at night, it was still very comfortable. At check-out, because of the rain I didn’t want to walk to the station, so they called a taxi for me. They handled this kindly as well, and even for such a short ride—typical of Kyoto’s tourist area—the taxi driver was very considerate, which made me happy. This was my first stay here and I’m very satisfied. I usually stay at Hotels near different stations, but from now on I’d like to stay here instead. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I’d love to stay here again and again.

The Hotel’s services were excellent. After check-in, we enjoyed matcha, ice cream, and warabi mochi. In the evening, the complimentary alcohol and snacks made us not want to go out. The staff were kind and attentive. It was an удобный location with easy walking access to Kyoto Station, plenty of convenience stores, and many places to eat nearby. Whenever I have business in Kyoto, I’ll want to stay here again. It’s a great way to refresh.

    Relax and unwind.

This was my first stay at the Richmond Hotel. The atmosphere was very welcoming from the entrance. The Room was spacious, and having a separate toilet and bath made it comfortable and convenient. Next time, I’d like to add breakfast.

    Hospitality

Conveniently located near Kyoto Station, with a separate toilet and a bathroom with a washing area. After check-in, we enjoyed afternoon drinks and sweets in the Premier Lounge, and felt the hospitality was truly high quality. (After 6:00 p.m., it becomes Social Hour with complimentary alcoholic drinks and snacks, though we did not use it.) Breakfast was just right for us as a couple in our 60s. From the staff service to the cleanliness of the room, we felt this was a very high-quality Hotel. It is a Hotel we would like to stay at again.

The amenities were plentiful, which was very helpful.

I was looking for Accommodation near Kyoto Station and wanted to relax, so I stayed at this Hotel because it offered a late check-out Plan. Since I went out at night, I couldn’t make it in time for the lounge service hours, but thanks to the late check-out, I was able to use the lounge service around noon the next day, which was very helpful. I also appreciated that amenities were available near the front desk so guests could take what they needed. The selection was extensive, and I was especially happy to find face masks, bath salts, and honey tea. One thing: on IKYU’s website there is information about DVD equipment. I assumed it would be provided in the Room and looked for it but couldn’t find it. When I asked at the front desk, I was told it is available as a rental with an additional fee. Please include this information in the listing.

A wonderful Hotel you’d never expect from a Business Hotel!

I love staying at Hotels and have stayed in many places, but this was my first time at the Richmond Premier Hotel. First of all, when I stopped by to leave my luggage, the staff were very kind and pleasant, which made a great first impression. At check-in as well, they provided all the necessary information carefully and efficiently—I was truly impressed. The complimentary lounge was also wonderful: at tea time there was a great selection of Japanese sweets. I enjoyed warabi mochi, shiratama dumplings, and—best of all—soft-serve ice cream, along with coffee and matcha. It was a lovely, relaxing time, and the Room was spacious and comfortable. They even brought my stored luggage up to the Room in advance, which I really appreciated! The social hour from early evening was lively with many guests. Some people stayed to relax while others just had a quick drink and left, so it never felt overcrowded—just right. We also planned to have just one drink, but it was so comfortable (and the pickles and drinks were delicious) that we ended up staying longer than expected. The staff cleared dishes promptly, and every team member we spoke with was friendly—honestly impressive service. This has become a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again.

    The hospitality is excellent.

I use this hotel for business and always have a comfortable stay. The location, Facility, cleanliness, service, and functionality are all excellent. What especially stood out this time was a female staff member who recommended Kyoto sake during the evening cocktail time. She was cheerful and friendly, and even our brief conversation felt very pleasant. When I told her it was delicious, she seemed genuinely happy, which made me happy as well. I also feel that the service from the other staff members is of a high standard. I’m sure you put in great effort as a team, and I believe many guests feel the same way I do. Please keep up the good work so you can continue at this level. I will stay again.

    Highly Satisfied

This was my first time staying here, and I found the accommodation fee to be very reasonable with excellent cost performance. On top of that, it was truly a comfortable hotel. I chose a plan with breakfast included, and every dish was delicious—I ended up eating too much! I would love to stay here again when I visit Kyoto. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience.

    Excellent service and hospitality.

Enjoy complimentary access to the premium lounge for guests, where you can indulge in sweets and soft drinks. Create your own parfait with self-serve azuki and vanilla-flavored soft serve, topped with shiratama and matcha—an experience that truly impressed us. You can even whisk your own matcha for a relaxing time. Additionally, having access to the lounge at the affiliated Shijo Hotel is an incredible perk. In the evening, enjoy alcohol time with snacks like nuts, creating a perfect moment of bliss as you relax in your room afterward. The breakfast the next morning was also absolutely delicious. With this level of value and service, it’s unbeatable. The accommodation floor features water dispensers, complete amenities are provided, and the staff's warm smiles and kindness made our stay truly pleasant. We would love to stay here again!

Hotel with a Traditional Japanese Atmosphere

【Highlights】 - Enjoyed the spacious Twin Room for single use. - Separate bath and toilet. - Delighted to see Kyoto Tower from the room window. - Abundant amenities available in a self-service system at the lobby, including POLA skincare products, ellips hair oil (likely), Japanese face masks, bath salts, body towels, and even small bags for carrying them—thoughtful service! - Friendly hotel staff greeted guests with warm smiles upon entering the lobby. - Check-in and check-out were automated but supported by helpful staff when needed. - Complimentary lounge on the first floor offered snacks like warabi mochi, soft serve ice cream, and mitsumame during snack time; umeshu (plum wine), wine, mini beer cans with side dishes like pickled vegetables during cocktail time; as well as various soft drinks and teas—a fantastic free lounge experience! - The garden at the entrance was soothing with flowing water that brought a refreshing breeze. 【Downsides】 - Traffic noise from outside was noticeable at night due to its location on a main road with large trucks passing by—might be bothersome for light sleepers. The room was impeccably clean, making it hard to find any faults in this wonderful accommodation. Although I couldn’t participate this time, there seem to be workshops offering traditional Japanese experiences—I’d love to stay here again if given another opportunity!

    Thank you for your patronage.

The "Premier" at Richmond Hotel offers some differences, such as afternoon tea and drink services. However, these services are only available if you are at the hotel during those times. I was lucky to enjoy the afternoon tea service once due to a change in my schedule. The hotel is conveniently located not far from Kyoto Station. The front desk staff were all very kind and accommodating. During my stay, I had trouble with TV mirroring (perhaps due to my lack of technical skills?) and ended up watching on my smartphone instead. In hindsight, I should have borrowed a Blu-ray (DVD) player as I usually do, but other than that, I had a pleasant stay. Thank you for your hospitality!

    About Usage Information

Thank you for your hospitality. One noticeable improvement since my last stay is that the hotel's guide has been turned into a pamphlet, eliminating the need to check everything on the TV monitor. As someone from an analog generation who struggles with monitors, I truly appreciated this change! The lounge guide includes a simple map of the facility, showing vending machines, laundry rooms, and other floor details. The QR code system for courier services also freed me from the hassle of handwriting forms. The lounge was crowded during breakfast hours, but all staff members were attentive and greeted guests with smiles while providing thoughtful service. During afternoon tea time, I enjoyed making my own soft-serve ice cream with various toppings—a fun upgrade compared to previous menu options! The social hour remained consistently delightful with Kyoto's local sake tasting experience being a highlight as always. No matter how many times I stay here, it always feels like coming home—a truly comforting accommodation. However, one issue stood out: children running around in the hallways of guest floors playing tag and wandering in the lounge without proper supervision by their parents (overseas guests). It was quite frustrating to witness such behavior. I can only imagine how challenging this must be for hotel management as well—my sympathies are with you!

    It was amazing again!

I had such a wonderful experience during my previous stay that I decided to return. Although I chose an economical plan with a room assigned at check-in, I was provided with a twin room, which was very comfortable. The late check-out until 12:00 PM as part of the Richmond Club member benefits was also greatly appreciated. The amenities remain excellent as always, and the lounge's afternoon service has changed from selecting one sweet to a self-service style where you can freely choose your favorite sweets—this adds more enjoyment to staying at this accommodation. Breakfast featured luxurious options such as chirashi sushi, sashimi, hamo tempura, and shabu-shabu with beef and yellowtail. Personally, I loved the Kyoto-style touch of having nama-fu dengaku available—it made me very happy. Thank you for providing such an enjoyable time!

    A wonderful Hotel.

Due to my sensitive skin, I called in advance to inquire about the material of the pajamas. A female staff member answered immediately with detailed information. At other accommodations, it’s common for them to call back after checking or not know the answer at all, so I was both surprised and impressed by her knowledge. (The pajamas were comfortable with a nice firmness but not rough.) When we arrived at the hotel and operated the self-check-in machine, a senior-looking female staff member subtly stood behind us with a smile, observing from afar despite being away from the front desk. This thoughtful gesture made me very happy. There were many female staff members who worked brightly and cheerfully with smiles on their faces. As a fellow woman, I found this very inspiring and thought that I would love to stay here again. The approach to the entrance had an elegant atmosphere; I often saw foreign guests taking commemorative photos there. The lounge was also enjoyable in terms of both content and ambiance (it doubles as the breakfast venue). Even though I don’t drink alcohol, I enjoyed soft drinks there—and they even offered amazake at night. The only personal disappointment was that the room slippers were not disposable ones. While this is likely for environmental considerations, many well-known city hotels still use disposable slippers as standard practice because they prioritize guests’ comfort and sense of cleanliness. It would be great if we could have an option to choose between them. For my second stay onward, I've been bringing my own disposable slippers (though it’s admittedly a bit inconvenient). That said, it is undoubtedly a comfortable and excellent hotel. I’ve already made another reservation for an upcoming stay—thank you in advance!

Enjoyed a comfortable and pleasant stay with lounge access. The Room was upgraded, which was a delightful surprise. Truly grateful for everything. No stress at all throughout the stay, and the staff's hospitality was exceptional. Breakfast was delicious, especially the beef shabu-shabu and sea bream sashimi. The only minor point: during lounge access, there was no sparkling water available for mixing with plum wine or sake, and draft beer would have been perfect to have as well... That said, it was great value for money at such a wonderful Hotel! I would love to visit again if I get the chance. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

It was more comfortable than expected.

I stayed in a Twin Room for one night. Although I was mostly out and couldn't enjoy the hospitality at the lobby, I was touched by the warm greetings despite using a machine for check-in and check-out. The cleanliness of not only the room but also the entire facility made me feel refreshed throughout my stay. The bathroom in the room had a separate washing area, and the large bathtub allowed me to fully relax after a tiring day of walking. The bed's firmness was just right as well. I would love to stay here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

The staff's hospitality at the Hotel is excellent.

When I arrived at the Hotel in sudden rain, I was kindly handed a towel with the thoughtful comment, "You must have gotten wet." The detailed and attentive service made my stay very pleasant. I would love to create an opportunity to visit again.

    The service was excellent.

I chose this place because I had a great experience at Shijo before. Even from a distance, the staff greeted us warmly when we went out or returned, which was impressive. The amenities, such as bath salts and hair oil, were delightful for women, and the lounge offerings were excellent. I forgot something during my stay, but the staff handled it kindly and efficiently, which was very helpful. However, I do have one suggestion regarding breakfast: many people in line early in the morning are in a hurry, so perhaps making it free seating would be better? It seems unfair that those who line up first end up with smaller tables. Additionally, it would be helpful if staff could guide guests to available seats more proactively. I was also in a rush but found myself delayed by slow-moving guests ahead of me while feeling pressured by those behind me—it was quite stressful.
