    About the unit bathroom

This was my first time staying here. The Facility was very well equipped. I stayed here on the day of Keisuke Kuwata’s live concert. After the show, we were dining at the restaurant on the 35th floor when the concert setlist started playing. It seemed that almost everyone there at that time had attended the live show as well. We really appreciated such a thoughtful touch. One issue: the unit bath in our Room was filled with a damp, musty odor like an un-dried cleaning cloth. That kind of smell is unacceptable in a Hotel.

The view is amazing! If only the Room were a bit more spacious.

Planning my first sightseeing trip to Yokohama in 25 years, I chose this Hotel for its convenient access to the places I wanted to visit. Luckily, I was able to make a Reservation on an affordable Plan and got a high-floor Room with an amazing view. The staff were efficient, clear, and courteous, and the in-house amenities and breakfast buffet were excellent. The baths were especially great—not only were there many types, but the washing area was spacious and comfortable, so I used them several times. If I had one wish, it would be for a slightly larger Room; once I opened my suitcase there was hardly any space left to walk around, which made moving around difficult. Overall, though, I’m very satisfied and would definitely stay again!

It was my first time staying at an APA Hotel.

I stayed here after a live event. It was my first time staying at an APA Hotel, and I was more satisfied than I expected! The check-in guidance was outstanding—far better than any other Hotel—so it deserves more than five stars. The Room was very clean, and the services were clearly explained as well; it really felt guest-first. Check-out was also super easy—I just returned the key and could leave right away. I will definitely stay at an APA Hotel again next time!!!! Thank you very much!!

A Hotel that showcases creativity and thoughtful touches in every detail

I often stay at Hotels in many different places. When choosing a Hotel, my conditions and priorities change depending on the location and purpose—such as “the closest possible Hotel to my destination,” “a Hotel with a great view,” or “a Hotel with a pool or large public bath.” Among them, I feel APA Hotels consistently offer the best locations along with excellent Facilities. This time, I stayed here to watch a baseball game at Yokohama Stadium. What decided it for me was the outstanding location and views—close to the nearest station, convenient overall, easy access to the stadium, and also near Minato Mirai, the Red Brick Warehouse, and Yamashita Park—plus the fact that there is a pool. It was my first time staying at an APA Resort Hotel, and I was impressed by how well-equipped the Facility is. In addition to the pool and a large public bath with clean, spacious semi-open-air baths, there is of course a convenience store, as well as coin laundry machines, a gym, multiple restaurants, an APA Curry shop offering both eat-in and takeout (the curry was delicious), smoothie shops (also very good), and more. I was also curious about the late-night soba shop. By the poolside you can order food and drinks and even rent float rings—it really felt like they had thought of everything. Even though it’s in Yokohama near central Tokyo, it made me feel as if I were staying at a Resort Hotel. Both check-in and check-out were very smooth using machines. The large flat-screen TV in the Room also let me check how crowded the public bath was and view other useful information during my stay. The entire building—including Facilities such as guest Rooms, the public bath area, and the pool—was clean throughout with a great sense of cleanliness, making for a very comfortable stay. Next time I go to watch baseball at Yokohama Stadium there are many Hotels nearby—but I would like to stay here again.

    About the Guest Rooms

At check-in, I was told there was availability and that my Room had been upgraded, so I was happy to enter the Room. However, the moment I walked in, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke. I had made a non-smoking Reservation, so it was very disappointing. It may be designated as non-smoking now, but if it is advertised as a non-smoking Room, I wish more attention had been paid to this. Everything else was satisfactory, but this issue was too significant and left me disappointed. I should have asked to change Rooms... The bathroom was spacious and I was very satisfied. If the Room has no odor, I would definitely like to stay again.

    Too big.

I was shocked by the huge line at check-in!! I couldn’t tell whether it was luxurious or just reasonably priced, but there were so many people. The layout and convenience are fine, but… the only highlight for me was that the large public bath was spacious and nice. However, depending on the time of day, it can get extremely crowded—people competing for lockers and feeling packed in like sardines.

    We request immediate improvements.

The price, Facility, cleanliness, and service are all excellent. However, the shower curtain in the guest room smells far too bad. It’s very unpleasant. I don’t know whether the cleaning staff don’t notice the smell or notice it but ignore it, but every time I stay, the shower curtain has a damp, musty odor. It really smells bad. That’s all. Other than that, I have no concerns.

    Excellent value for money

Great views, very clean, and a wide variety of buffet options. The bath was wonderful, and the quality at this price was outstanding. We took the Red Shoes bus (220 yen) many times to the Red Brick Warehouse and Chinatown—no taxi needed at all. We would definitely like to stay again next time.

    Excellent.

The lobby is gorgeous. There are plenty of elevators, including many dedicated to the upper floors. The view from the Room is amazing, with Minato Mirai and the Bay Bridge in sight. The large public bath is incredibly spacious. There are plenty of washing stations with perfect partitions. The jacuzzi and reclining bath were also very satisfying.

The bathroom sink area is extremely small.

Although it was a non-smoking Room, the smell of cigarettes was very strong. The bed took up the whole space, leaving no room to relax at all. I’ve stayed at many Business Hotels, but this was the first time I’ve felt so cramped and uncomfortable. The exterior and lobby look extremely luxurious with chandeliers, so the contrast is shocking. As I’ve gotten older my legs and back have weakened, so I couldn’t use the large public bath; when I used the Room sink and bathroom instead, they were extremely small. It was my first time staying at an APA Hotel, but I was disappointed. Also, the parking fee is far too expensive. The only good point was that a hair cap was included in the amenities this time.

    It was very good.

Both the large public bath and the Room were excellent! I was able to feel refreshed in just 6 hours! Check-in and check-out were smooth, and I would like to stay again.

    Great view

One-second check-in was very convenient. I had registered as an APA app member and loaded my Reservation in advance, but when I tried to scan the QR code, an error prevented it from being read. The staff responded immediately (correcting a mistake in the app settings), and I was able to complete check-in by scanning the QR code. I reserved a triple Room (Minato Mirai side). The Room felt a bit small for three people, and the unit bath also felt cramped. However, the view was excellent—you can clearly see Minato Mirai, and the night scenery is beautiful. Breakfast, which I always look forward to when staying at a Hotel, was delicious across the board and very satisfying.

This was my first time using it.

As I stayed alone, it felt a bit pricey, but I still want to stay here again. Meals were buffet-style, with an excellent variety and well-managed temperatures for each dish. At breakfast, I was surprised to have an omelet made right in front of me, one by one. There were several different types of baths, which I really enjoyed. Since I requested a high floor, the view was outstanding. I would like to stay again.

If this is your first time staying at APA...

The breakfast was especially disappointing. At the restaurant entrance, more than a dozen people were unable to get in and had formed a line. It was my first time being made to wait without even being allowed inside. Looking around, I saw that tables left by guests who had finished were not cleared and were still as they were. Used trays and dishes were also left along the wall. When I was shown to my seat, no basket was provided for my bag, so I ended up placing it on the floor. Even seeing this situation, the staff did not seem to notice or care. Both the staffing level and the quality of training felt disappointing to me. The large public bath and convenience store are good features, but in the end, warm service comes from people. It was a disappointing one-night, two-day stay.

    Suitable for three friends

My two friends and I made a Reservation because we were looking forward to spending a night in Yokohama. The price was very reasonable, so we understood in advance that the triple Room would be small, and it wasn’t an issue. The large public bath was also spacious and very relaxing. It’s conveniently located close to Bashamichi Station. We’d like to stay again.

The Room was small—smaller than anywhere I’ve stayed before. I had assumed the view would be of the ocean, but it faced the city, which was disappointing. However, there were many good points as well. The Room had bright lighting, and the bed was firm and very comfortable with excellent bedding. The Onsen on the 4th floor was especially wonderful; there were many types of baths, and the open-air bath felt great. The breakfast buffet also had a wide variety of options, and everything was genuinely delicious. I’d like to stay again. Thank you very much.

It was disappointing that the refrigerator was noisy at night.

This Hotel is conveniently located with views of Yokohama Port, making it easy to use. The staff are kind, and automation is well advanced, so it seems popular with younger guests as well. However, unfortunately, the in-room refrigerator made a loud operating noise at night and disturbed my sleep. It may be an inexpensive non-Japanese-made unit, but noise that interferes with sleep is a serious problem. Could the Hotel manager please try staying in one of the rooms at night to experience this firsthand? You cannot run a service business by only looking at the balance sheet. The president also offers various life advice in his books. Please try it yourself at night. If you try to sleep sober without drinking alcohol, it becomes quite noticeable. Please continue improving APA Hotel and make it an even better Hotel. I have high expectations.

Mammoth Hotel’s large public bath and elevators get extremely crowded.

I have stayed at APA Hotels in various locations, but this was my first time using APA Hotel & Resort. As it is a “Resort” and the “Yokohama Bay Tower,” the night view from a high-floor Room was very beautiful, and the large public bath had several types of baths. Compared with other APA Hotels, the exterior also felt more upscale. It is also close to the station, which is convenient. However, perhaps because it was a weekend, the women’s large public bath was constantly crowded except in the early evening or early morning. This was my first time having to wait my turn to use lockers and hair dryers. Also, although the elevators are separated for lower floors and higher floors, there are simply too many guests. They stop many times before reaching the large public bath or front desk, so it takes a long time. I suspect that guests on lower floors may have had to let full elevators pass without being able to board. In addition, the Room was extremely small. It was a twin Room, but we struggled to find space to open our suitcases. Since there is a large public bath, I didn’t mind that the bathtub was small; however, the sink basin was also small and even washing my face took effort. I also found it concerning that there was a tray for toothbrushes directly above the toilet. Most surprising of all: the toilet seat wasn’t heated. Each time I used it, it felt cold and uncomfortable. The location is good and the building is impressive, but considering both the Room quality and how crowded this massive Hotel gets, I think I would have been better off staying at a regular APA Hotel.

    Fear of heights

Because I am not comfortable with high floors, I noted in the Reservation comments that I have a fear of heights. →Thanks to you, I was able to stay on a lower floor. Thank you very much.

    Mammoth Hotel!

Just a 3-minute walk from Bashamichi Station and 10–15 minutes on foot to Pacifico Yokohama, with excellent access. Its large size also makes it an easy landmark when walking from anywhere. Although the hotel has a huge number of rooms, check-in and check-out were very smooth with APA-quality service. There’s a convenience store next door, plus two more inside the building, which is very convenient. The large public bath was great with multiple tubs at different temperatures, but it was disappointing that there was no sauna. I’d like to stay here again when I’m in Yokohama on business.

The large public bath is crowded.

It seemed relatively uncrowded, so I checked the crowd level in the Room beforehand and then headed to the large public bath. However, in the changing area I had to stand and wait until a locker became available. It was not a bath I could enjoy at a relaxed pace.

Accommodations for Guests with a Fear of Heights

I have a fear of heights, which can be hard to understand for those who don’t. When I stayed last year, my Room was on a high floor. → As the elevator went up, I became more and more anxious. → While sitting in the Room, during a bath, and even when trying to sleep, I felt as if my body was swaying and couldn’t relax. This time, I mentioned this when making the Reservation and requested a lower floor. You kindly accommodated my request, which made me very happy. I will stay again next month as well: thank you in advance for your continued support. (I’ll be staying again around the same time next year, too!)

We enjoyed a panoramic view of Yokohama’s night skyline.

It was a high-floor Room with a great view of the Yokohama InterContinental Hotel and the Ferris wheel. Since it was the Christmas illumination season, the check-in area was very crowded. While waiting in line, I was recommended the APA members app and registered for the first time. The benefit of membership is a 1-hour late checkout. I thought about going to the large public bath right after checking in, but the TV monitor info already showed it was crowded, so I gave up and went out. During my stay at the Hotel, the large public bath showed “crowded” the whole time, so I used the bathroom in my Room. The first-floor front desk area has restaurants and an APA Curry shop, and the Room was clean—probably one of the more spacious ones among APA Hotels. I always feel this way, but I wish APA Hotels offered more amenities. Above all, I really want makeup remover cleanser. Other than that, the location is great and I have no complaints!

    It was small.

Although it was a triple room, there was hardly any space to walk, and not even enough room to put our luggage, so we ended up spending most of our time on the bed.
