    Grateful for the connections in Kyoto

    I stayed for two nights while attending a conference. I arrived in Kyoto via Itami Airport from New Chitose, and it was extremely convenient that the airport limousine bus stop is just a few seconds’ walk away, so I didn’t have to carry my suitcase through crowded areas. The ladies-only floor is also on the same level as the large public bath, which made it comfortable without having to wait for the elevator each time. When I asked about the weak Wi‑Fi connection in my Room, you immediately suggested an alternative option, so I was able to work without any issues. Despite facing the road, it was quiet and I slept soundly. The breakfast I added only on the second day was truly outstanding—far beyond what I would expect from a buffet—with remarkably high-quality beef and Tsubakido’s wonderfully fragrant green tea that really impressed me. Thanks to that, I felt energized enough to go sightseeing in Kyoto and fully enjoy the beautiful fresh green maple leaves. It’s rare to find a Hotel where you feel no travel fatigue or inconvenience at all—and not only that, but can recharge your energy as well. I’m grateful for this connection with Kyoto. Thank you very much.

    I’m satisfied every time.

    The location is very convenient, with easy access to transportation and both the station and shopping area nearby. The staff are friendly, and the Accommodation is well cleaned. I would like to stay here again as a reliable regular place to stay.

    The location is excellent, and the Room is functional but slightly small.

    The location is excellent, just a short walk from Kyoto Station. Because the bath, toilet, and washbasin are separate, we were able to get ready in the morning and evening without stressing each other. On the other hand, the Room is very small, and the table is only big enough for one person to eat at—so it’s difficult for multiple people to dine in the guest Room. The guest-only lounge with a drink corner is spacious and lovely, so I recommend eating takeout meals such as bento there. We stayed for two nights, but for some reason there was a sewage-like smell coming from the bathroom drain both mornings. Since the bath and toilet are separate, it wasn’t an issue as long as we kept the bathroom door closed—but it’s really disappointing because otherwise it’s a great Hotel. The smell was so bad that it made us hesitate to stay again. Also, although we stayed two nights, all three key cards stopped working on the second night (as if they had been set for only one night), but when we informed the staff they handled it promptly.

    A clean Hotel near the station

    The Room was clean and spotless, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of options—we really enjoyed it! The location right near the station was also convenient for sightseeing, making our trip even more enjoyable. The front desk staff member who assisted us at check-in was courteous and left a very positive impression.

    Done: I’ll definitely stay here again.

    I was going to arrive in Kyoto late at night, so I made my first Reservation at this Hotel near the station. From the moment I stepped into the entrance, it felt wonderful. The guest-only lounge was also a comfortable space. The breakfast restaurant was bright and very clean, and above all, every dish was delicious. They even had Perrier for drinks, plus plenty of seasonal mackerel sushi and desserts. Both Japanese and Western dishes were excellent. They cleared used plates quickly, and I could tell the staff are well trained. I don’t think other hotels can match Vischio’s breakfast. This is a great-value Hotel that I highly recommend. One more thing: the shampoo quality was great and left my hair silky smooth.

    I’d like to stay here again.

    The staff were kind and pleasant. I stayed on the ladies’ floor, and the Room was clean and well maintained, which was great. I would like to stay again. I wished the door to enter the floor would close a little faster. I don’t think there was a toothbrush among the amenities. Also, I couldn’t connect to the in-room Wi‑Fi even using the password shown on the TV.

    Wonderful

    Thank you for your hospitality. For this price, the location, beds, breakfast buffet selection and service, large public bath, and front desk service were all high quality. If I had to mention one thing, perhaps due to the building’s layout or the Room location, the view from the window was not great. When I visit Kyoto again, I would definitely like to stay here again.     It was the best Hotel!

    I’ve been to Kyoto many times, but this was the best Hotel I’ve ever stayed at! It’s right in front of Kyoto Station—an unbeatable location. The moment I stepped into the lobby, it smelled wonderful, and the staff were polite and genuinely welcoming. In the lounge, I could enjoy drinks including coffee, which made it easy to relax. For my stay, I chose a Moderate Twin Room. The Room was spacious and spotless, and the bathroom had a separate sink and toilet plus a washing area. It was perfect for soothing my tired body after sightseeing. And the breakfast buffet is on another level. Everything looked beautiful, and it truly felt like Kyoto. They even had bread options for vegans. Whether you prefer Japanese or Western food, you’ll enjoy it. I stayed for two nights: on the first day the chef grilled steak right in front of us, and on the second day it was roast beef—honestly good enough to be dinner! Freshly baked bread kept coming out as well, and breakfast was genuinely fun. When I visit Kyoto again, I’d absolutely love to stay here again.

    I think it was good.

    The property felt clean throughout, and I found the Room layout to be functional. Effort has been streamlined where possible, which isn’t a bad thing. The service that lets you enjoy coffee at your leisure in the first-floor lounge is also nice.

    The location and cloakroom service are excellent, and above all, I really appreciate that the large public bath is always clean and comfortable to use. When traveling alone, I unfortunately choose a room-only stay because I feel a bit uncomfortable at the breakfast buffet, but this time I stayed with a friend and was able to enjoy the breakfast-included Plan for the first time in a while. I would like to stay here again the next time I visit Kyoto.

    A Pleasant Hotel

    Because I had a great stay at Hotel Vischio Toyama in April, I chose Hotel Vischio again in Kyoto. The front desk staff were very helpful, and the cleaning was thorough, so I had a comfortable stay. Access to the Room area was controlled by key card to prevent unauthorized entry, which made me feel safe. Many Western guests were using the gym early in the morning, and it was nice that it was available without time restrictions. At home, I usually eat two kiwis before breakfast, and as others have mentioned, there was a wide variety of fruit here as well. Fruit is expensive and not commonly offered at other hotels, so I felt this truly deserves its reputation as a Hotel known for excellent breakfast.

    It was convenient.

    It was conveniently located near Kyoto Station. I liked being able to enjoy free coffee and tea in the lounge and relax there. The Room was well equipped with everything we needed. It was disappointing that the large public bath was crowded despite the in-Room TV monitor showing “Available.” Maybe it wasn’t updated in real time... I also noticed that the floor in the changing area was wet. If I stay again, I’d like to try the breakfast.

    I was satisfied.

    Four of us from our tea group stayed here, and everyone was very satisfied and said it was excellent. In particular, they liked that the Room bath had a separate washing area and bathtub, making it easy to use, and that they didn’t need to go to the public bath. We were impressed by the wide variety and great taste of the breakfast. We would like to make this our regular Accommodation when staying in Kyoto.

    Thank you for your hospitality. The front desk staff greeted us politely with smiles, and everyone was very pleasant. The location in front of the station was very convenient, and the Room was spacious and relaxing. There is coffee service on the first floor, but it would have been nice to have coffee or tea bags in the Room as well. It was a functional Hotel with good attention to cleanliness, so we felt comfortable staying there.

    All staff are very kind.

    All the staff were very kind, and the breakfast was luxurious—this Hotel was extremely satisfying. Since there weren’t many amenities I wanted to use, I gave it 4 stars. I would definitely like to stay at Vischio again next time.

    A comfortable Hotel in a convenient location near the station.

    The location was excellent for arriving in Kyoto by Shinkansen. From the Hachijo Exit, you can reach it above ground, and when it rains you can come up from the underground passage—cross one crosswalk and you’re there. I could also store my luggage in a locker before and after check-in, which made it easy to get around. I couldn’t connect well to the Hotel-wide free Wi-Fi in my Room, but I was able to use the Wi-Fi for my Room without any issues. Breakfast had a great selection, and I especially enjoyed seasonal items like grilled bamboo shoots and bamboo shoot rice. The service was just right, and I was very satisfied. I visit Kyoto once or twice a year, and I would definitely like to stay here again.

    You stayed on the women-only floor.

    My sister stayed for two nights. She wanted to visit not only Kyoto but also Nara, so she looked for a Hotel near the station with a large public bath and coin laundry, and this Hotel met all of her requirements. She was very satisfied with her stay. She said there were so many breakfast options that she ate too much (lol). In particular, the ladies-only floor felt very secure, and it was convenient because the large public bath and coin laundry were close by, so she would like to stay on the ladies-only floor again next time. If possible, she wished there were a place inside the Hotel to grab a light meal and a drink at night, and it would be even better if there were one or two more washing machines (though being near the station meant dining options weren’t an issue). Thank you very much.

    This was my second s...

    This was my second stay, and it’s already become my go-to Accommodation! It’s a bit far from the JR Kyoto Line, but there are so many wonderful things that more than make up for it. First of all, the staff are extremely polite. It may sound obvious, but some Hotels can be surprisingly dismissive—so the front desk team here was truly pleasant and made me feel welcome. The Room was also spotless and very clean. The in-room bathroom has a separate washing area, which is a huge plus when traveling because you can really relax. This time I also used the public bath, and it was convenient to be able to check how crowded it was on the Room TV. Both the washing area and changing room were clean as well. The lounge is well stocked with coffee, tea, and matcha drinks too! They even had Izutsu Yatsuhashi available, which made for a perfect little break!! And breakfast—just like last time—I was completely satisfied again this time. Everything was delicious!! The only disappointment was that they didn’t have the crab shell steamed sushi or roast beef that I loved last time… maybe it changes by season? Still, there were items like sakura mochi and grilled bamboo shoots, and they were great!! The smoked potato salad and steak were so good I went back for seconds. It made my morning! Also, when I left my Room, the housekeeping staff on the floor greeted me with big smiles saying “Good morning” and “Have a nice day,” so warmly—it honestly made me really happy!! Even after checkout they held my luggage for me, and when I came back to pick it up they saw me off as well—the staff are just wonderful!! There are so many reasons that make me want to come back again. Everyone I traveled with said “That was a great Hotel,” which made me happy too! Thank you very much for taking care of us—I’ll be back!

    Second Visit

    I love Kyoto and have visited many times, and this was my second stay here. It really is a wonderful Hotel. Hotel Vischio Kyoto has very clean Rooms, a well-designed layout that’s easy to use, and makes for a truly comfortable stay. Above all, the breakfast is absolutely outstanding. The seasoning, variety of dishes, and calm atmosphere were all extremely satisfying—so much so that I looked forward to the mornings. Whenever I stay around Kyoto Station, I would definitely like to choose this place again. It’s my favorite Hotel.

    It was a very comfortable Hotel.

    I have stayed here many times. It’s a wonderful Hotel and one of my favorites. However, there was one issue this time. You can check how crowded the large public bath is on the Room monitor, but it didn’t seem to be updated accurately. It still showed “crowded” after midnight, but since I didn’t have much time, I went anyway and there were only three people in the bath area. Early in the morning it showed “somewhat crowded,” but there were only two people. Even after I returned to my Room and checked again, it still showed “somewhat crowded.” I felt this time that it would be better if the information were reflected more accurately. Other than that, I think it’s an excellent Hotel. I will stay again.

    Fully satisfied with the delicious breakfast buffet

    I booked this Hotel for a one-night trip with my daughter after hearing it was rated No. 1 in Kyoto for breakfast. It’s right near the station, new and spotless, and while the Room size felt more than sufficient, the layout is well thought out—down to details like outlet placement—so even as a Business Hotel, it was very satisfying. The large public bath was also very clean, and it was great that we could check how crowded it was from our Room before going. It showed as crowded, but there were plenty of washing stations and the bath itself wasn’t crowded at all—so I wondered why it said that. And then the breakfast we were looking forward to: truly an incredible variety—you can try just about everything—and each item is genuinely delicious! There were also Kyoto-style dishes and ingredients, so I completely understand why it’s so popular. Perhaps because I’m a JR Hotels member, they also extended checkout by one hour, and overall it was such a satisfying stay that it makes me want to choose this Accommodation again for future trips to Kyoto. Thank you very much!

    First impressions of the Hotel...

    Overall, the design felt new and stylish, and the Room was clean. However, the bathroom mirror was extremely far away, so I couldn’t see details when doing my makeup. The sink basin has a lot of depth, but for someone petite like me, that depth is exactly why the mirror feels so far. Also, the female staff member at reception never smiled. At check-in she rushed through a monotone explanation, and her response to my questions wasn’t helpful either. I was surprised—especially since she’s the first person guests meet at a Hotel. Even if she was part-time staff, welcoming guests with a smile is basic customer service. I had high expectations because of the good reviews, so it was disappointing.

    Wonderful

    The location was excellent, and the service was attentive. The Room was clean and well organized, making for a very comfortable and pleasant stay. However, I do not eat onions, chives, garlic, fish, meat, or seafood. The only drawback was the vegetable tempura. The labeling was unclear, so the oil may not have been pure. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, but I could hardly eat anything. Still, it was delicious. The large public bath smelled of disinfectant. Overall, I felt this Accommodation offered good value for the price.

    As always, Vischio Kyoto was a reliable choice.

    If you’re unsure which Hotel to choose in Kyoto, this one is definitely among the top recommendations. The drawbacks are that many Rooms don’t have great views, and the location is at Hachijoguchi, away from the Shijo Street downtown area. However, many Hotels in Kyoto have less-than-ideal views anyway, and being close to Kyoto Station can be a major advantage. If those points don’t bother you, this is an excellent Hotel that we can confidently recommend.
