  Please enforce the communal bath rules.

  I stay here once or twice a year. I love Yoshino Sakura no Yu and always head there as soon as I arrive. This time, two foreign guests were bathing, and one of them had a towel in the bathwater, so I told them in English not to do that. At first, they did not seem to understand, but apparently got the message from my gestures. The person with the towel reacted angrily and started shouting. When I pointed to the rules near the entrance and said, “Please read them carefully,” they became even more agitated and slapped the towel against the water. I think foreign guests unfamiliar with Japanese hot springs should be given a verbal explanation of the bathing rules at check-in or a clear, easy-to-understand leaflet.

  Hmm, that’s disappointing.

  This was my second stay. The Room has a Japanese-style feel with tatami mats, and I had a good impression from my first stay, so I decided to come back. The atmosphere of the Room and the bath were just as good as last time, but the air conditioner in the Room was weak even when set well below the room temperature. Even on maximum airflow, it would stop after about 10 minutes, then start again about 10 minutes later—so I thought, “Doesn’t it normally keep running at the set fan speed?” and contacted the front desk. Since I wanted to go out to buy some things, I told them it was fine to enter without me and left. Shortly after I returned, they called and said they compared it with other Rooms and it was operating the same way. When I asked if that meant it would take longer for the Room to cool down, they replied, “Please lower it to the minimum temperature. You can set it down to 18°C.” As a result, after going to the bath and coming back (of course) the room temperature had risen again and didn’t cool down enough by bedtime. Normally when staying at a Hotel I sleep with auto mode around 24°C, but this time I went to bed with 18°C on maximum airflow. As expected, once enough time passed it did eventually get cold; each time I woke up feeling chilly, I had to gradually raise the set temperature. I understand Hotels often have centralized air conditioning or various constraints—but at this level, I don’t think there will be a next time for me.

  Measures for International Guests and Beverages

  I stayed for two nights. The Facility was great, and the staff were kind, so I had a very comfortable stay. However, the bathing etiquette of some foreign guests—especially Asian guests—was not good. Lockers were left open, belongings were left on chairs while they went into the bath, and some people poured water over themselves while in the bath. There were many unhygienic behaviors, and I couldn’t relax and enjoy it. Since the Facility is so nice, it was disappointing to see it being dirtied. Also, there are complimentary services such as coffee at night, but not in the morning. Given that this is a higher price range and you clearly invest in your Facility, I think a morning coffee service would be a nice addition. Small touches like that would make me want to come again.

  We had a relaxing stay.

  The location near Nara Station was very convenient. The Room was spacious and clean. The late-night soba was delicious. As for the Onsen, it would have been perfect if the changing area were a bit larger. I really liked being able to take off my shoes at the entrance, step onto the tatami, and go straight to my Room. I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. I would like to stay here again when visiting Nara.

  The location is exce...

  The location is excellent—just a short walk from the station with great access. When I asked to leave my luggage before check-in, I was told I could enter right away, which was a big help on such a hot day and gave me a chance to take a break. The entire building has tatami flooring, making it comfortable to spend time in the Room, and there is also a large public bath where I could relax and recover from fatigue. Breakfast had a wide variety of options and was delicious. The young male staff member on the floor was quick and efficient, which made for a pleasant start to the morning. Thank you as well for kindly assisting me with my inquiry about an item I left behind after returning home.

  I stayed at this Acc...

  I stayed at this Accommodation at the end of May. It’s close to the station, and it was a huge help that they could store my luggage before check-in and after check-out. Also, this is a Ryokan-style property where you take off your shoes when entering, but I really liked the system that lets you either bring your shoes to your Room or leave them in a locker (I really dislike places that take your shoes away at the entrance, and I usually avoid staying at Ryokan for that reason). The only thing I noticed was that there was no hand soap in the sink area of the Room (and none in the shower booth either). Since it was listed among the in-room amenities in the introduction video, I assume it was simply forgotten. Other than that, my stay was very comfortable—thank you very much.

  The food is delicious.

  Moderately comfortable, but expensive since it’s a tourist area during the holiday period.

  The property was clean, easy to stay in, and comfortable. On the other hand, it felt a bit overpriced. I booked a Plan with no cleaning during a Multiple Night Stay, and even towel replacement wouldn’t be provided unless I requested it via the TV—and only once per day. It was just under 50,000 yen for two nights in a single room without meals, so I couldn’t help feeling they could offer a bit more service for the price. That said, laundry was free to wash and the gas dryer was 100 yen per 20 minutes, so I could do as much laundry as I wanted at almost no cost, which was very helpful. Also, while there were no direct issues, it felt like the hygiene manager may not be very resistant to pseudoscience, which could be a potential risk.

  The linens smell musty.

  I stayed for 25,000 yen without meals. As soon as I entered the Room, there was a musty smell, like damp linens that hadn’t fully dried and had mold. I was looking forward to this luxury stay, but it was uncomfortable even while sleeping. I would like someone to check the Room before guests arrive. Also, in the women’s bath, there was an elderly woman wearing slippers. In addition, some guests were moving across the tatami with their suitcases. Since this is a Facility where shoes must be removed, I felt this was unhygienic.

First, we are truly sorry that the guest room was not cleaned thoroughly and that an odor from the linens caused you discomfort. Despite conducting post-cleaning inspections, we failed to notice the issue and regret that we provided an uncomfortable sleeping environment. To prevent this from happening again, we will share this matter with all cleaning staff and all personnel responsible for inspection checks, and further reinforce our cleaning standards. We also apologize for making you feel uncomfortable regarding bathing etiquette in the public bath.   A Pleasant Accommodation

  I stayed for two nights on my own. As others have written, the Accommodation was clean and very well maintained. The bath was relaxing, and it was also nice that the entire building has tatami flooring. There were no issues at all for a solo female traveler. When I stayed, most guests seemed to be international visitors, and they were all very considerate as well.

  Families with babies are welcome to use the Onsen.

  I made a Reservation looking forward to the Onsen and breakfast. I was satisfied with the Facility and the meals, but there was one concern. Someone brought a baby into the large public bath. The baby was not yet one year old. Naturally, there is a risk of accidents. After seeing that, I didn’t feel comfortable using the same bath afterward and could only use the open-air bath. At an everyday public bathhouse, I would accept it as unavoidable, but on a trip—especially when there is also a shower in the Room—couldn’t they have taken turns as a couple and washed the baby in the Room instead? Is it common at Dormy Inn for babies to enter the Onsen everywhere? Could you at least allow use of the large public bath only for children who are out of diapers? Thank you for your consideration.

  We were completely satisfied with this Accommodation.

  The service, location, breakfast, and Facility are excellent, yet it feels like great value for money. If I had to mention one issue, it was unpleasant to see some Asian guests walking around barefoot and putting their feet up on chairs while eating. I understand it may be a cultural habit, but I wonder if you could post a notice asking guests to wear socks while walking around.

  Nono: A Stay That Exceeds Expectations

  Conveniently located near the station, clean, and with delicious breakfast. When I mentioned wanting to clean my shoes after the rain, I was kindly provided with disposable wipes. I noticed thoughtful attention to details, likely due to many international guests, which must require a lot of effort. However, when someone started applying nail polish in the unmanned public bath area and it caused an unpleasant smell, I wasn’t sure what to do and couldn’t take any action.

  The Hotel is located...

  The Hotel is located right in front of JR Nara Station! Like other Kyoritsu Resort properties, you can leave your shoes in the shoe locker and walk barefoot on the tatami flooring inside, which felt very comfortable. The room was compact and well-organized, and the Onsen was excellent. Dinner is not included, but there are restaurants and supermarkets nearby, as well as late-night ramen available. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of dishes and alcoholic beverages, all delicious. Kintetsu Nara Station and Naramachi are within walking distance, making it convenient for sightseeing. I will definitely visit again!

  Next to the railway tracks

  I have stayed at Dormy Inn in other prefectures three times before, but this is my first review. At this Dormy Inn, the sound of trains during the night and early morning is quite noticeable. Although there are double sashes, I found myself checking the train schedule because it bothered me. I believe it depends on the direction of the room, so next time I will request a room not facing the tracks.

  Excellent and attentive service!

  I live in Osaka and went on a relaxing trip with my mother. After strolling around places like Sarusawa Pond, we headed to the hotel and arrived earlier than expected. Since our room was ready, we were allowed to check in early, which was very much appreciated. It was convenient that the TV displayed the crowd status of the large public bath and breakfast area. The amenities in the large public bath were excellent, and the massage chair seemed to be a state-of-the-art model—it was fantastic. Additionally, I appreciated the thoughtful service of having ice cream available at night and probiotic drinks in the morning for free. I often stay at Dormy Inn for business trips but had my first chance to try their "Yonaki Soba" this time—it was delicious! My mother also said she couldn’t believe there’s such a wonderful accommodation right by JR Nara Station, and she was very satisfied with our stay.

  Staying on the middl...

  Staying on the middle day of a three-day holiday weekend. At check-in, we were told the Hotel was nearly fully booked and that breakfast hours would be pushed back by 30 minutes. When I went to breakfast around 8:30, there was a long line. At reception I was given a numbered ticket and told there would be a 30-minute wait. Once we were seated, there were only 45 minutes left until closing. For me, a Hotel breakfast buffet is something I want to choose carefully and enjoy at a relaxed pace, so this wasn’t enough time. I felt rushed throughout and couldn’t really enjoy the meal. Since retiring, I’ve only traveled on weekdays, so it had been a while since I experienced a typical holiday crowd. Still, they must have known they would need to serve that many guests—so wouldn’t it have been better to extend breakfast by an hour rather than just 30 minutes? Many items also weren’t being replenished in time. Regarding something I had requested at the Reservation stage, they called in advance to confirm it and handled everything properly. Since I’ve stayed at Dormy Inn properties across The whole country as well as Onyado Nono before, this made me appreciate even more how reliable Kyoritsu is and how this feels like an upper-tier Dormy Inn. If not for the breakfast situation, I would have given five stars—so this was disappointing. The bath was wonderful; late at night there were times when I had it all to myself, and the sauna left me feeling completely refreshed. The bed was also very comfortable. As for Facilities, my only wish is that the in-room TV were a smart TV—that’s the one area where an extra push would make it even better. All in all, Onyado Nono Sakura no Yu is a very good Hotel overall.

  Perfect for solo female travelers

  I chose this Hotel for its convenient location in front of JR Nara Station, perfect for visiting the National Treasure exhibitions in Osaka and Nara. Staying here was reassuring even for a solo female traveler. This Japanese-style Hotel offers a relaxing atmosphere where you can take off your shoes, enjoy a spacious public bath with natural Onsen, and stay in a comfortable Room that isn't very large but cozy. The light and delicious "Yonaki Soba" at night and the breakfast buffet with a wide variety of tasty options were all satisfying. The only thing I wished for was a slightly larger TV in the Room.

  It was relaxing and soothing.

  Located near the JR station, making it easy to find. The staff provided warm and reassuring service. Relax and unwind with a soak in the Onsen. Checked in after dinner, allowing me to enjoy the lingering impression of Kofukuji Temple's treasures before a restful sleep. The breakfast buffet the next morning offered a wide variety of dishes, making it hard to choose. I also enjoyed trying tea porridge for the first time. This Hotel is highly recommended for its reasonable price with breakfast included. Staying here during this season made me happy!

  Meals and Tatami

  The entire building has tatami flooring, which was greatly appreciated after a tiring day. The breakfast was extremely delicious. Among all the buffet meals I've had, this ranks as one of the best. The Room was comfortable. It's a casual Hotel but perfect for solo travelers. If I visit Nara again, I would definitely stay here!

  Very satisfied.

  I stayed here for a solo trip. The room was assigned by the hotel, and I got a twin room with a shower booth. The entire accommodation has tatami flooring where you take off your shoes, making it comfortable to walk barefoot and creating a cozy atmosphere. After checking in, I immediately went to the large public bath and enjoyed the open-air Onsen and sauna, which left me feeling refreshed. After bathing, I relaxed with a massage chair and an ice candy. When I returned from dining out, there was a complimentary half-size "Yonaki Soba" ramen service available amidst the lively crowd of international guests—it was delicious! What impressed me most was the breakfast the next morning; featuring Nara specialties like Miwa somen noodles and persimmon leaf sushi along with other delicious dishes that made me eat more than usual—I was thoroughly satisfied. I would love to stay here again when visiting Nara!

  Conveniently located near the station

  A Long-Awaited Trip to Nara Chose Nonno, which I liked in Shimane and Tottori, thinking it would be just for sleeping. As I was traveling alone, I was unsure about dinner, but being close to the station with supermarkets and bento shops nearby was truly convenient. The bath was also great. One question I had: instead of a Multiple Night Stay reservation, I booked each night separately under different Plans. As a result, I could use the same Room throughout my stay; however, the welcome sweets were only provided on the first day. There was no explanation regarding this point.
