    Perhaps because it w...

    Perhaps because it was during the Obon holiday, the noise from other Rooms was very loud. After midnight, some people were running down the hallway shouting, and there were loud thumping noises from the floor above—enough to make our dog restless and to wake us up suddenly. I was also concerned that there were many fruit flies in the Room, but it was helpful that insect spray and mosquito repellent were provided. The red wine in the refrigerator was easy to drink and delicious. The bath was also great, and I think this Accommodation is comfortable as long as you choose the right time of year.

    Multi-family trip for three households

    My grandchildren were thrilled with the wonderful Room! Our family loves staying at Hotels, and until now our favorite has been Hoshino Resorts RISONARE. This was our first time staying with Rakuten STAY, and we were very satisfied. The price wasn’t too high, and it has become one of the Hotels we’d like to stay at again. When we left the Room at check-out, my 5-year-old grandchild even cried—it really was such a lovely Room.

    It was great.

    This was my second time using Rakuten STAY (the first time was in Chiba), and I really like it because the Room is spacious and clean, making it very comfortable to stay. 　 This time we chose a plan with breakfast and dinner included, and we were surprised by how generous the dinner (BBQ) portion was. On the other hand, the Japanese-style breakfast had only a few side dishes, which was a bit disappointing. It was great to relax in the foot bath while watching our dog play in the yard. The bath that can be enjoyed like an open-air bath also felt wonderful. The disappointing points were that there were only two pairs of slippers even though five of us stayed, and there was a small insect flying around in the washroom and stuck to the mirror. Other than that, everything was excellent and we had a very comfortable stay, so I’d like to use Rakuten STAY again when traveling!

    We stayed with our dog on a family trip. With the windows closed, we couldn’t hear other dogs at all. Being able to enjoy the Onsen 24 hours a day and use the footbath until midnight made for a truly luxurious time. We also bought extra seafood and grilled it for a BBQ. However, there were no basic seasonings provided, such as soy sauce or salt and pepper, which was disappointing. We went to a nearby convenience store to buy some.

    Something might be missing.

    This is my second time staying with Rakuten STAY (my second property). Honestly, a 10:00 check-out makes the stay feel too short. The wide selection of dishes and utensils is great, but it would be nice to have at least some basic seasonings. Overall everything is clean, but there are a few inconvenient points—this time the window screen was broken when I tried to use it. The Onsen was also a bit too hot and took time to adjust to a comfortable temperature. I’d still like to try other Rakuten STAY properties, but there seem to be many areas for improvement.

    Well-equipped bathrooms!

    The Room was so spacious and well-equipped that it felt almost too generous, and the dog we brought along was excited too. With an open-air bath, it was so relaxing that we went in many times! Even the indoor bath feels semi open-air when you open the window, giving a great sense of openness!! At other Rakuten STAY properties, breakfast came with a smoothie, but this one didn’t, which was disappointing.

    We stayed here with a large group, including a baby.

    We stayed with my parents, our three children, and two grandchildren. Since we had two 0-year-old babies, we chose a flexible vacation rental rather than a Ryokan so we could adjust meals and bathing as needed. We were worried by Reviews saying the open-air bath was lukewarm and the Room was dirty, but in the end it was a trip we were very happy with! We would definitely return. It was our first time staying in a vacation rental, but with babies it was great to be able to eat in the Room whenever we wanted, let them nap in the bedroom, and bathe them as usual—so I think we were able to travel without putting too much stress on them. With a vacation rental you do worry about how thorough the cleaning is, but as long as that is solid, it’s perfect. The open-air bath was indeed on the cooler side, but more like “you can stay in forever.” There’s also a semi open-air bath; if you open the window it feels almost like an open-air bath, and this one was warm enough. There’s even a footbath on the balcony—amazing! [Pros] - The bathing area is separated by a door for privacy, and there are two toilets—very helpful for a large group - The hair dryer was a Repronizer (that made us excited!) - There’s also a water dispenser, plus drinks and snacks in the fridge - We didn’t expect much from it, but the view felt really refreshing - We chose uni shabu because it seemed unique, and it was delicious! You shabu-shabu sea bream and meat in a pot with lettuce and mushrooms. You might want to bring extra vegetables too. The fridge is large enough for any food you bring - The nightwear was comfortable and my parents liked it too - The large-screen TV was exciting [Cons] - There were only six bath towels (for six guests). Since there’s an in-room bath you’ll likely bathe multiple times, so I wish there had been more—ideally two per person - No facial cleanser - We couldn’t figure out how to turn on the living room speaker and contacted support at night. They answered quickly but their response was slow overall; instructions were hard to follow and we wasted quite a lot of time. We had to pry open (is it broken?) part of the TV cabinet that doesn’t open normally just to switch on the main power of equipment inside—unbelievable!! Please provide clear instructions or leave it powered on from the start. - As stated in advance: having only one comforter per bed is inconvenient - There’s complimentary drinks/snacks service; I wish details were listed online so guests can decide what (and how much) to bring. There were more drinks than shown online, plus snacks/sweets too

    Our family trip with our beloved dog turned out to be the best getaway.

    I’ve traveled with my dog several times, but this was the most satisfying Hotel I’ve stayed at so far. The unmanned lobby was also very clean, and I already felt pleased even before entering the Room. The dog amenities were very well stocked, and the Room was spotless, stylish, and well maintained. With a semi-open-air bath, a footbath, and a sauna, everything was clean wherever I looked, and I could truly relax both body and mind. Just staying in the Room made me feel like I was fully enjoying an Onsen trip. The meal Plan was also excellent—sukiyaki with high-quality meat, obanzai side dishes, and breakfast bread were all delicious and extremely satisfying! If I had to ask for one thing, it would be to have just a little more of that delicious meat—then it would have been perfect. There was also a projector so we could watch Netflix on a large screen. We couldn’t use it because it was cloudy, but there was also a telescope for stargazing if the weather is good. The garden where we could watch our dog happily playing while soaking in the footbath was wonderful as well. Our family trip became truly luxurious, and our Hakone trip turned into an amazing memory. I would definitely like to stay again.

    The Room is clean, spacious, and well-equipped.

    This was my first stay with Rakuten STAY. We stayed in a “stayable showroom.” I was nervous because the Reviews were extremely mixed, but once we arrived, the Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The Room had a sauna and a hinoki Onsen bath, and for families with children, being able to enjoy an Onsen in the Room was amazing!! One disappointing point: there were several cigarette butts with lipstick on them in the trash can, likely left by a previous guest. Since we were traveling with our 1-year-old and there’s always a chance they might rummage through the trash, we moved that trash can to a higher place. I wasn’t surprised because I had seen other Reviews saying the cleaning wasn’t thorough; switching cleaning contractors might solve it. Other than that, overall it was very comfortable!!!

    The bathwater is lukewarm.

    The bath water was far too lukewarm in both the indoor bath and the open-air bath, so we couldn’t stay in. It was too cold. There was no place to adjust the temperature or button to add hot water. Even after turning on the sauna, it showed no sign of warming up, so we ultimately couldn’t use it.\nEverything else was good, but it made us wonder what the point of coming to Hakone—an Onsen destination—was.

    I had a relaxing stay.

    I have stayed multiple times and had a relaxing experience (Room 302). However, there were a few concerns: 1. The closet door was broken, making one side unusable. Additionally, a handwritten "Do Not Use" note on duct tape looked unappealing and detracted from the otherwise nice environment. 2. The microwave had a strong odor from previous use, requiring multiple cleanings before I could use it. 3. There was water leakage from the balcony ceiling, making the outdoor table unusable.

    The room is covered in hair.

    The Facility is good, but the cleanliness is lacking, with dog hair everywhere even when wearing slippers. This was the same in the bedroom, living room, kitchen, and dressing area. There was only a lint roller and no vacuum cleaner, which made the stay uncomfortable. It also raised doubts about whether the sofa and bed were clean. Please ensure thorough cleaning.

    Hinoki-scented semi-open Onsen and footbath. Fully enjoy the sauna!

    The hotel was very clean and satisfying in every way. The location was easy to find, and the parking lot felt secure. There was a convenience store with a spacious parking area just 3 minutes away by car, where we could get sweets and ice cream. The hotel had vending machines selling cup noodles, snacks, and even premium wine. The room's refrigerator also had wine, beer, and snacks, which made us very happy. What we loved most was the Onsen in the room with the scent of cypress! The window opened to an outdoor foot bath area next to it, allowing us to relax in a large bathtub while watching dogs run around in the dog park outside. The dog park was just the right size for our family; we could play without worrying about others nearby. The sauna accommodated up to two people comfortably at an ideal temperature that we thoroughly enjoyed as part of our Onsen experience. The large screen in the bedroom was perfect for watching while lying down—it couldn’t have been better! Our dog also loved their bed provided by the hotel; it smelled fresh without any odor or dirtiness—everything provided was exceptionally clean. From a woman’s perspective, it’s unfortunate that there were no amenities available. It would be appreciated if at least basic essentials were provided. This is our second time staying at this style of Hotel; check-in and check-out were simple and discreetly handled without concern for others’ presence—very convenient indeed. It would be even better if prices were slightly more affordable. We look forward to staying here again!

    It was a good facility.

    The facility was excellent, but there was an issue with the sauna equipment, and I got injured. At 3 a.m., the air conditioner cover fell off, startling me awake. I hope daily inspections for hazardous areas are conducted in addition to cleaning. It would also be nice if cleansing face wash could be provided.

    Pet-friendly accommodations with Onsen options

    The room with a garden was nice, but the toilet door was broken and difficult to open and close, so we had to adjust it. Also, the cleaning around the bed seemed insufficient as there were crumbs, human hair, and dust that became particularly noticeable at night, so I wiped them off. It would be great if there were not only lint rollers but also handheld vacuum cleaners available. Still, it's an accommodation I would like to visit again. There were no instructions for the humidifier's functions; it was high-tech but hard to use without guidance, which was disappointing as I wanted to make use of it. Additionally, we tried using the telescope for two days like in videos but couldn't figure it out—this too was unfortunate.

    We stayed here for a family trip. The Room was spacious, and the amenities were well-prepared, leaving no complaints. However, there were many fallen leaves on the balcony, and the sauna was so low that it seemed almost pointless to have it installed. I also wondered if the bathwater is replaced with each check-in. When I used the bath, it felt slightly slimy; while the hinoki scent and spacious bath were nice, I had some concerns about hygiene.

    Pet-friendly room accommodation

    The Facility and amenities are excellent. In addition to 3 bedrooms, this is the first Facility I’ve seen equipped with a stone sauna, regular sauna, open-air bath, semi-open-air bath, and dog run. One concern: Our dog urinated in various places. This might be due to the scent left by previous dogs. If the next guest’s dog reacts similarly, it could become an issue.

    It was comfortable, just like a private villa.

    I stayed in a dog-friendly room on the first floor. Initially, I was a bit anxious about the lack of face-to-face interaction with hotel staff, but the room was clean and well-equipped with utensils, cutlery, dog-related items, and drinks in the refrigerator, so I felt no inconvenience. With a dishwasher and washing machine available, long-term stays seem possible. On the day of my stay, I fully enjoyed views of Gora Daimonji-yaki and fireworks from the room. The private onsen had glass windows that could be opened for fresh air, and the footbath facing the garden provided a relaxing experience. However, one disappointing aspect was encountering pet waste left unattended in the hotel hallway; I almost stepped on it. While this may not entirely be the hotel's responsibility and I did not follow up to see how it was handled afterward, not seeing any staff around made me slightly concerned about hygiene. For this reason, I deducted one star from my rating for facilities.

    It was a very good Facility.

    The facility was excellent and I am satisfied. However, check-in took 40 minutes. Although it was instructed to check in using a tablet inside the room, I couldn't enter the room with the dial key in the first place. There were tablets available in the lobby as well, but others also seemed unable to enter and had to wait their turn. Additionally, a Cancellation Fee equivalent to the full amount applies from 4 days prior, even though most of the ingredients provided are frozen products.

    A great Room, but noise...

    We stayed here for a girls' trip. We had a great time cooking and partying together at night, enjoyed the foot bath and Onsen, and the spacious, clean, and beautiful room was perfect. However... the noise from upstairs was extremely loud and echoed throughout. Thinking that our own noise might have also been disturbing others left us with mixed feelings. The remote check-in instructions to be mindful of noise made sense after experiencing this, but the soundproofing could definitely be improved. Other than that, everything else was perfect; this was the only issue we encountered.

    Easy access by car, ...

    Easy access by car, completely unmanned but smooth check-in and entry with no inconvenience. The facility is well-maintained, clean, and the Onsen, foot bath, and sauna were excellent. Dog-friendly with a beautifully kept lawn in the garden and non-slip tiles indoors for a safe stay. Would love to use it again. One downside was the limited amenities and lack of a chair at the dresser. However, it's great value for money, so I will return!

    With Your Dog

    A relaxing one-night trip with a family of three and a small dog, just enjoying the bath. It was very comfortable. There were two projectors and a wall-mounted TV, but we ended up only using the TV to watch Amazon Prime. We fully enjoyed the drinks in the fridge, snacks, and coffee from the pod machine. Since we preferred a lighter dinner, we cooked rice we brought along and grilled meat on the tabletop IH stove. The next morning, we also used it to make fried eggs. The kitchen had all kinds of cooking utensils with just the right touch of style—very convenient! Next time, I’d like to try cooking something using the oven if I get another chance to visit. The place had everything: a washing machine, dishwasher, sauna, foot bath, Onsen with a cypress tub—it was spacious enough for everyone to enjoy their own way at their own pace. If I could ask for more time during my stay—an extra hour each for check-in and check-out—it would have been even more relaxing!

    Stay in a Type C Room

    I stayed in a Type C Room for two nights. The room was spacious and comfortable, but there was mold on the bathroom walls and the shower handle holder, causing a musty smell that made it impossible to use without fully opening the windows. I requested cleaning on the morning of the second day, but it could only be done after 3 PM, leaving me unable to use the bathroom until evening. Even after cleaning, the smell only temporarily improved, and I couldn't enjoy a comfortable bath during my stay. Additionally, there was also a moldy odor coming from the kitchen drawers, which was very disappointing in terms of cleanliness. The room is still relatively new with good facilities and location, so I hope for improvements in these areas moving forward.

    Regarding Futon Management

    The bed sheets appeared clean, but upon waking up in the morning, I found multiple bug bites on my legs. Judging by the marks, it seems to be caused by mites. There were three bedrooms, and since others slept in different rooms, they were unaffected. It appears the issue was only in my room. The itching persists and has worsened, leaving me feeling extremely frustrated. Dinner was sukiyaki; however, there was very little beef and it seemed like chicken was used to make up for the quantity. Chicken is not typically part of sukiyaki, is it? This turned out to be the worst birthday ever. I will never use this place again.

    I was satisfied.

    This was my first time using this accommodation as I was traveling with my dog. The facility is truly clean. There was a dog run, which had artificial turf and was well-maintained. Humans can enjoy the garden while soaking their feet in a footbath. In terms of location, there were moments when my dog reacted to the sounds of cars or trucks due to the slopes and turns nearby, but it wasn’t much of an issue with the windows closed. All drinks and snacks in the room were free, and Kerastase treatment was provided at the sink area. The smoked cheese from BALPAL was delicious—I now buy it myself regularly! There’s also a vending machine inside the building where you can purchase small items if needed. Meals are prepared by guests themselves using what’s provided in the refrigerator, which worked well for us since we could adjust our schedule freely while traveling with our dog. The only downside... During check-out, cleaning staff arrived between 9:30–10:00 AM and filled up the parking lot while speaking loudly on their phones in the lobby. With most parking spaces occupied by guests’ cars, some staff parked outside designated areas, making it impossible for us to move our car. While cleaning is necessary, I wish they could have scheduled it after all guests had checked out—it left a disappointing impression overall.

    I think it's a great idea!

    It was my first time using this, and almost everything I needed was provided, allowing me to have a fulfilling stay. I forgot to bring my facial cleanser since I don’t usually carry it around, but I’ll make sure to bring it next time. Definitely coming back with the meal-included Plan. Thank you!

    We will visit again with our family!

    Previously, I stayed with my family in the Sengokuhara area and had a great experience, so this time I decided to try this accommodation with my son whose schedule matched mine. Everything exceeded our expectations! The meals and drinks in the refrigerator were sufficient for two people and very delicious. The Onsen was incredibly relaxing, but we had to be cautious as the shower at the washing area tended to spray into the bath. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to use the rain shower either. I understand it might be due to cleaning considerations, but it would be nice if check-out time could be a bit later. Unfortunately, due to bad weather, we couldn’t use the telescope. Next time, I’d like to bring my astronomy-loving husband and visit again as a family!
