    Not worth the price.

This is better described as glamping with dinner and breakfast plus time-limited all-you-can-drink, rather than a luxury all-inclusive stay. - The Shuttle Service to the island is described as either by car or a free shuttle boat, but only the car option was available. We were told it was due to maintenance. This should be clearly stated on the website. - Dinner is fixed at 6:00 PM with no choice of time. There is a long gap until breakfast. A self-service bar is available until 10:30 PM, but the snacks felt cheap (small supermarket snack packs and potato salad). - After 10:30 PM, drinks are limited to what’s in the refrigerators on each floor. There are plenty of soft drinks, but only a few beers. - The “Spa” scenic-view bath: although there should be separate baths for men and women, only one was in use, with alternating access every 1.5 hours, so it’s hard to relax. When we went, daytime slots were reserved by other guests, so we could only bathe when it was dark and there was nothing to see outside. - Amenities were also insufficient: the Room had only one sachet each of face wash, toner, and lotion—nowhere near enough for both morning and night. Instagram mentions face masks and hair oil, but we couldn’t find them. Cotton swabs were only available at the scenic-view bath; they weren’t individually wrapped, which raised hygiene concerns. Above all, the scenic-view bath felt unclean—the door sash was covered in mold. - Although it’s marketed as all-inclusive, there are no convenience stores or vending machines on the island or at the Hotel—and services feel cut back—so it’s best to arrive well prepared. - Perhaps due to cost-cutting, services shown on Instagram and in Reviews (such as juice in the Room or amenities provided as a set in a bag) were not offered. Overall it was disappointing and not worth over JPY 100000 per night for two people.

    The Best Summer Vacation

I found this place on Google Maps and made a Reservation. Since it was during the Obon holiday period, the price was higher than usual, but I was very satisfied to have such a special, out-of-the-ordinary stay. [Highlights] - The staff’s hospitality was very comfortable—neither overbearing nor distant. It felt like they were watching over us at just the right distance, and I also felt reassured knowing they would help anytime if we needed something. - The ocean and sunset views from the window were truly special—something you can only experience here. - The food was delicious. Seafood, meat, and vegetables were served in great balance, and the seasoning was simple and subtle enough to let the ingredients shine—exactly my preference. - You can rent bicycles and go cycling around the island or to nearby islands. The cool morning hours are especially refreshing. - Exploring a cave that you can pass through at low tide felt like an adventure and was a lot of fun. - Collecting sea glass to take home was also a great experience—they even provided small bottles, which showed thoughtful attention to detail. [Notes] - For breakfast you can choose Japanese or Western style. I slightly regret choosing Western; it was tasty, but the Japanese set looked more elaborate. I would have been happy if they had toasted or warmed the bread. - Although there is a bath in each Room, there is also one shared indoor bath that switches between men and women every hour. It could be a bit inconvenient when you want to use it right away. That said, since there is a bath in the Room as well, it didn’t feel like a major issue. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied—I’d love to stay again, and I’ve already recommended it to several friends. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

    We were very satisfied.

From the moment we were picked up, the hospitality had already begun. We were completely satisfied with everything—from the guidance along the way to the warm welcome after arrival. Of course, we also enjoyed delicious meals. In the morning, we woke up to a ship’s whistle. The ever-changing view of the tides was truly soothing. We would love to visit again in another season.

It was a wonderful Hotel, regardless of glamping.

We were interested in the Shimanami Kaido and stayed here as a couple during Golden Week. From the website, we understood that glamping was a key selling point, so we wondered if it might feel out of place for us since we have no interest in glamping. However, there were no other Hotels available that matched what we wanted, so we chose this one. We were worried it might feel like an incomplete Hotel experience, but that concern disappeared the moment we stepped out of the Shuttle Service vehicle. We were impressed by the efficient check-in staff, the first-floor entrance and dining area, and above all the beautiful view from there. The Accommodation is on a small remote island with only a few residents, and we were told that only islanders’ vehicles and Hotel vehicles are allowed to enter. We worried that once we arrived there would be nothing to do, but there were nature-based activities such as cave visits, and we could also walk to the Shimanami Kaido suspension bridge—there wasn’t enough time for everything. Unfortunately it was drizzling with strong winds so our exploring was on foot, but if it had been sunny I think we could have rented the Hotel’s electric bicycles and gone out to Oshima and beyond. The meals featured plenty of fresh fish; in particular, the sea bream rice was outstanding. Drinks are self-serve with unlimited refills as well, which is perfect for those who enjoy alcohol. The bath is not an Onsen, but there was plenty of hot water and thoughtfully selected amenities, so we enjoyed it. However, part of the bath in our Room seemed to be under repair: one section of wall looked like it had been covered with temporary boards nailed on, and there was mold-like staining around that area. Because of this, I lowered my rating for the guest room slightly. I expect it will be fixed soon, but it did bother me a bit. The Shuttle Service staff on both arrival and departure kindly showed us around nearby areas as well—it was great fun. This is a sightseeing Hotel that can be thoroughly enjoyed not only by young families but also by mature couples like us.

    100% Hospitality

I stayed here with my high school–aged daughter on a trip for two. Thanks to the staff’s warm hospitality, it became a truly special overnight stay. The Room had a simple, cohesive design and a calm atmosphere that would suit guests of all ages. The meal was a course featuring local Setouchi ingredients, and we enjoyed it even more as each dish was explained to us. We were impressed by the thoughtful services, such as sunset drink service and collecting sea glass right in front of the Accommodation. We were able to relax and make precious memories. This is a wonderful Accommodation I would love to return to. Thank you very much.

    It was great!

It’s a very quiet island with beautiful views, and we were able to relax and take our time. The glamping Room and the meals were both excellent. Every staff member was very kind, and the service was attentive, including the Shuttle Service and help carrying our luggage.

    Wonderful

The food was especially outstanding—everything we ate was incredibly delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and truly wonderful. The Room was also lovely. By chance, there were no other guests besides us, so it felt like we had the place to ourselves, which made it quiet and relaxing. This time of year might be a hidden gem.

I was very satisfied again this time.

This was my fourth stay for 2 nights and 3 days. Although the cycling plan on the second day was canceled due to bad weather, I was able to spend a relaxing time. Thank you for accommodating my selfish requests so kindly. I love everything about Majima—the staff, the food, and the scenery. I look forward to visiting again. As the busy year-end and New Year season approaches, please take care of yourselves!

    Breathtaking Views, Relaxing Accommodation

It was our first visit to Majima, and we were lucky that the rain stopped. The sea and the bridge were truly beautiful, leaving us in awe. We visited to celebrate my husband's birthday and had an absolutely wonderful time. The only regret we have is getting too excited about the all-inclusive service and starting to drink too early, which led to losing memory halfway through dinner. We deeply appreciate the kind attentiveness of the staff—our apologies for any inconvenience caused. The view from the bath was stunning, and the meals were luxurious and delicious. The next day, we rented electric bicycles and went all the way to Imabari—the sea was breathtakingly beautiful! Exploring caves and searching for sea glass was also a lot of fun. We promised each other that next time we'll enjoy ourselves without overindulging in drinks! (Haha) Thank you so much to the manager and staff for your thoughtful hospitality!

    Sea Glass

Thank you for the wonderful stay. The soothing sound of the waves and the perfect location made it an unforgettable experience. What touched us most was how kind and attentive the staff were to our children. "Unforgettable Sea Glass Experience" After dinner, when our child participated in a sea glass crafting activity, your warm hospitality and flexibility in accommodating our needs truly meant a lot to us. Thanks to you, we created memories that will last a lifetime. Our sons are still overjoyed, saying it was "the best memory ever" and expressing their gratitude with "thank you!" We had such a relaxing and healing time, for which we are deeply grateful. One of my sons even said, "When I grow up, I'll come back here again!" We would love to stay again in the future!

    It was absolutely amazing!

The view from the Room facing the sea is stunning. It was a suite Room, and everything, including the chairs, desk, and amenities, was of high quality. The Room was incredibly spacious and clean. The public bath is a bit small but very clean. Above all, the hospitality of the Hotel staff was excellent. I heard there is also a Granluke in Nagano, and now I want to visit there as well.

    Relax and unwind.

Stayed on the 3rd floor of the hotel building. The area was very quiet, with few passing tourists, making it peaceful. Dinner portions were generous to ensure no one went hungry at night. Plenty of alcohol was provided as part of the all-inclusive plan, though I’m not much of a drinker. Most of my time was spent watching various ships pass through the strait in front of the hotel. The beach (swimming prohibited) was beautiful, so I tried some casual sand art—it disappeared naturally and turned out to be surprisingly fun! There is an observation large public bath available; however, I thought it would be nice if instead of a bathtub in the room, there were a desk and chairs for relaxing while enjoying the view outside.

    Thank you very much.

I usually don't write reviews, but I wanted to express my gratitude to the manager and all the staff for their exceptional hospitality. I was especially looking forward to the meals during this stay, but due to a sudden illness, I couldn't enjoy much of the dinner. However, I truly appreciate all your thoughtful care and attention. The next day, feeling much better, I was able to spend a relaxing time exploring the island and strolling along the walkway of Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge. I am determined to visit again soon for a proper experience! Thank you all so much!

Enjoy exceptional hospitality and a relaxing view of the ocean right before your eyes.

It felt like a private trip to a small island accessible only to locals. Although there were other travelers, we enjoyed a relaxing and peaceful time. From the guest room, you can see the sea, the bridge, and passing ships while hearing the gentle sound of waves. While riding along the Shimanami Kaido on rental bikes, we stopped to watch a kite flying nearby. Its call of "pii-hyorororo" excited our child and made for a memorable moment. The view of islands from atop the bridge was truly luxurious in both sight and sound. The meals were fresh, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious overall. During bar time at night, snacks like oden-style dishes and potato salad were served—they too were very tasty! Being all-inclusive allowed us to enjoy trying various drinks as well. At night, it wasn’t too hot outside; sitting on the deck with drinks in hand allowed our eyes to adjust and see countless stars in the sky above us. The bridge lights also created stunning scenery different from daytime views. The bath was small but enjoyable since no one else was using it at that time—though it might feel cramped if shared with others. While soaking in warm water with scenic views is delightful, its openness might make some worry about being seen from outside. For our return trip home, we chose to take a boat ride back after confirming wave conditions beforehand due to concerns about seasickness—the staff kindly checked immediately for us and assured calm waters that day so we could reserve confidently without worry! The boat ride itself was refreshing thanks to pleasant breezes; reaching port became an enjoyable experience. This trip offered many unique experiences not possible in everyday life. Though initially concerned about traveling far distances by car (and my husband likely feeling tired from driving), he repeatedly said how wonderful this trip had been—it truly stood out as special! Above all else though what made this journey exceptional were warm smiles & hospitality shown consistently by every staff member encountered throughout stay—thankful gratitude goes out sincerely toward them all!

    I chose this accommo...

I chose this accommodation as I had been interested in it for a while, and I was very satisfied with the location, meals, and especially the all-inclusive stay. The dinner was memorable, with fresh sashimi and delicious simmered olive beef. For breakfast, although I usually prefer Japanese-style meals, I opted for Western-style this time. The croissants were exquisite without any strange sweetness and had a refined buttery aroma. Additionally, as a Diamond member benefit, I could enjoy late check-out and had a truly relaxing time. Thank you very much. While overall it was an excellent experience, there were some points of dissatisfaction that I'd like to mention below: Regarding the shuttle service: our group traveled by car and arrived at Imabari Port about 30 minutes early. When we tried to call to inform you of our arrival, we couldn't get through to the front desk (no one answered), which made us feel quite uneasy until the shuttle arrived. Furthermore, since there were three groups using the shuttle service in total that day, two vehicles were arranged. One vehicle carried us along with another group who arrived around the same time as us; however, we had to wait for another family who arrived late before departing. To make matters worse, they departed first despite arriving later than us. It would have been better if departures were prioritized based on readiness rather than arrival order. As a result of these delays in transportation arrangements, we didn't arrive until around 3:30 PM even though check-in starts at 3 PM—meaning we couldn't check in on time. It might be helpful if scheduling for shuttle services could be improved accordingly. Other than that issue regarding transportation logistics: your hotel staff members (many of whom are young) left a very positive impression with their courteous service; both your facilities' cleanliness and delicious cuisine also stood out wonderfully! If given another opportunity someday soon—I’d love nothing more than returning again!

    It was the perfect holiday!

It was my first visit, but the staff were friendly, and I had a very relaxing stay! Being all-inclusive, it was great that all food and drinks within the accommodation were covered from arrival to departure! It was a birthday trip with four close friends, and we enjoyed delicious meals with beautiful views while chatting and drinking. The accommodation was clean and comfortable! There happened to be fewer guests during our stay, so it wasn’t an issue this time, but if fully booked, the bath might feel a bit small. For that reason, I gave one less star. However, overall it was an excellent accommodation! Thank you for your hospitality! I’d love to visit again if I have the chance!!

    It was excellent.

We had an amazing time. Thank you so much for your hospitality. The staff were all kind and provided excellent service, the Room was beautiful and functional, and the food, including fresh sashimi and simmered fish, was delicious and visually stunning. The free-flow drinks included citrus vinegar drinks and Ronnefeldt tea, which made us very happy. Cycling along the Shimanami Kaido with rental bikes was incredibly enjoyable as well. This is a highly recommended Hotel—be sure to visit Gran-Luke!

An Enjoyable Accommodation Where Time Flies

I stayed for one night in March. It was still early spring, so the seaside, terrace, and cycling felt a bit chilly, but the stay was so enjoyable that time flew by. 【Meals/Drinks】 The fresh sea bream from Kurushima Strait was among the best I’ve ever had. The sashimi was excellent, and it tasted just as good cooked. I appreciated being able to enjoy drinks and snacks in the room as well as having a late-night snack service. The all-inclusive drink service allowed me to enjoy beverages freely. While the selection wasn’t vast, there were plenty of options featuring local Shikoku beers, wines, sake, and shochu. The coffee capsule variety was impressive—so much so that it was hard to choose during just one stay. 【Activities】 Just arriving on the island felt like an escape from everyday life—it’s an activity in itself! The island’s atmosphere is wonderful; its oceanfront deck and caves enhance the resort vibe. I hesitated about cycling at first but found that the view from atop the bridge exceeded my expectations—it’s definitely worth doing unless it’s extremely cold or hot or if there’s bad weather. 【Service】 Based on their website's impression, I expected cool professionalism from staff members but found them warm and friendly instead! They were knowledgeable about both Shikoku and this island specifically; even casual conversations with them were enjoyable. 【Facility】 The facility is simple yet clean and comfortable to spend time in. Although it was a cold day during my visit—they provided heaters for extra comfort which made things cozy overall! Unfortunately though there isn’t an Onsen available here due likely due simply because this small-sized-island doesn’t have space/resources accommodating such features—but large windows within bathing areas offered stunning views compensating somewhat despite lacking natural hot springs themselves... A peaceful retreat with breathtaking scenery and exceptional hospitality made for an incredibly fulfilling stay. The staff provided outstanding service, always greeting us with warm smiles. A hidden retreat for adults.

I chose this accommodation to relax while listening to the sound of the ocean. Arrival on the island was made easy with a dedicated shuttle service. Since there are no shops on the island, I was surprised and delighted that even a late-night snack was prepared! The meals were absolutely delicious! The welcome drink was thoughtfully crafted and wonderful. I was also impressed by the all-you-can-drink options! The room provided a relaxing space where I could unwind completely, falling asleep to the sound of waves. The staff were incredibly kind, and I would love to stay for multiple nights next time!

Scenery of islands, the sea's natural beauty, and a grand suspension bridge intertwined.

A hotel located on Umajima Island, inaccessible by private car. Park your car at the hotel's exclusive parking lot at Imabari Port and take the hotel's shuttle service to reach the property. In front of the hotel lies the Seto Inland Sea, with stunning views of Shikoku's Imabari City skyline and Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge beyond. The meals are delicious, and beverages are all-inclusive, allowing you to enjoy as much as you'd like (though moderation is advised). A late-night snack time is also available. (We unfortunately had to skip it after indulging a bit too much during dinner! We'll definitely try it next time.) During low tide, you can explore a private cave offering breathtaking views and even collect sea glass. This is truly an ideal hotel for a relaxing getaway.

It was a wonderful trip. The shuttle service driver provided a very polite guide, and upon arrival, the staff warmly welcomed us. The room had an ocean view with breathtaking scenery. The meals were plentiful and absolutely delicious. The all-you-can-drink option allowed us to enjoy drinks without hesitation, and it felt like great value for money despite being included in the price. The Room's window could have been cleaner, but the Room was lovely, the view was great, and the bath was satisfying. The all-inclusive service was excellent. Activities & Hospitality

We enjoyed our first glamping experience during a family celebration trip. On the day of our stay, the strong tidal currents due to the spring tide made even the boat ride enjoyable. We were completely relaxed by the natural beauty of this small island, including the ebb and flow of Seto Inland Sea tides and sandy beaches, as well as by the heartfelt hospitality from staff who clearly love Umashima. Both dinner and breakfast featured fresh local seafood, which delighted every member of our family. The seasoning in some dishes, like soup, was a bit strong for our taste. The anniversary cake was handled with great care, and spending a long night chatting while feeling boats come and go became an unforgettable memory for us. Time passed so peacefully yet quickly that we are still savoring those moments even now. We would love to stay again—hopefully with clear skies next time! Thank you very much!

    I was healed.

Thank you for kindly accommodating the sudden change in shuttle service time on the day. I learned about this hotel while planning a trip to Shikoku, and after seeing the website, I decided to make a reservation as I really wanted to visit. The small island of Umajima, where vehicles other than those of residents are prohibited, is very quiet, and the calm waves in front of the hotel, along with the occasional passing ship, provide a wonderful escape from everyday life, offering a sense of tranquility. The hotel appears to have been renovated from a traditional inn, and while the exterior retains the charm of a minshuku, the rooms and dining area were very clean. The sashimi served at dinner was incredibly fresh and delicious. The all-inclusive drink service is also a great attraction. The staff were attentive and considerate, making the stay very comfortable. There is a private beach and a cave that can only be accessed during low tide, which was fun to explore. One night was not enough. I would love to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.
