    It was very quiet and comfortable.

    Perhaps because it’s tucked away down a narrow alley, it was surprisingly quiet. The Room is very compact and truly relaxing. The bathroom and fixtures were spotless. All the light switches were conveniently grouped by the pillow, which made them easy to use. I write from time to time, and I felt I could really make progress here. Next time, I’d love to stay in and get some work done. For breakfast, I took a 20-minute walk and enjoyed a Japanese-style breakfast at their affiliated “THE MACHIYA LOUNGE.” I was able to go without a Reservation. (The photo shows the Japanese breakfast at “THE MACHIYA LOUNGE.”) The beautifully arranged small dishes were outstanding, and I really got to experience the charm of a machiya townhouse. All of the staff were very kind. I highly recommend this place as well. In the end, I left something behind at the Hotel and only noticed after checkout, but they handled it with great care and courtesy. Thank you very much. I would definitely like to stay again.

    The restroom is...

    I finally had the chance to stay at an accommodation I had been curious about for a while. The room was very calming and gave me a sense of Kyoto's charm. However, there were a few issues during my stay. First, when I arrived for check-in, the door was locked. I called the main office and was told it should be open, but it wasn’t. After struggling with it for a while, a staff member came running and opened it for me—perhaps they had forgotten to unlock it beforehand. Next, there were no lotion amenities available in the accommodation. When I tried to ask at the front desk, the staff had already left for the day. Many places now have systems where guests can freely take amenities from reception; implementing such a system would be greatly appreciated here as well. The most troubling issue was with the toilet—it didn’t flush properly. While I tried not to flush paper down as much as possible, it eventually clogged late at night and overflowed with water everywhere. Cleaning up that mess and having to hold off on using the toilet made things quite difficult during my stay. It’s disappointing that this wasn’t addressed during cleaning beforehand when such issues should have been noticed and resolved in advance.
