    Our Family’s First Trip to Hakone

    It was a family trip where relatives who usually live far away gathered for the first time in several years (including seniors and a toddler). All staff were kind and attentive. The meals were delicious and more than enough (we had a late lunch, so we were too full and sorry we left quite a bit). The view from the bath was lovely, right by the river, with a great atmosphere. We stayed in the Room with six people, and it was spacious enough for our toddler to run around; the view from the window was amazing (river side). We were very satisfied.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    The service and meals were excellent. It was also great to have access to streaming subscriptions, but I would have preferred a slightly larger TV.

    A long-established traditional Ryokan with timeless charm

    We stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff were always smiling and kind, and the Accommodation was spotless. In particular, the bottom of the Onsen bath was not slippery at all, so it was very comfortable. The food was truly delicious—though if it were our sons, they definitely wouldn’t have had enough (lol). If you assume “aging facilities = unclean,” then maybe a newer Hotel is a better choice? We were extremely satisfied with this charming Ryokan full of atmosphere. Also, the Nepalese staff member left a great impression on us. We would love to stay again.

    Relax and unwind—the ultimate mom’s break

    This is a historic, old Accommodation, and you can really feel how carefully it has been maintained. The food was delicious as well. The staff member in charge of our Room was very pleasant, and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. The bath is along the river, and listening to the sound of the water helped me unwind. The water is a little on the hot side. In summer, there may be insects. I would love to have morning coffee service. After a morning bath, I’d like to enjoy coffee on the terrace while looking out at the river. It was a wonderful trip. I’d like to visit again someday.

    It's subtle.

    The Room is excellent. The staff who served in the room was also wonderful. However, the front desk was disappointing. The attitude over the phone felt dismissive, making it hard to request anything further. Honestly, the price does not match the service performance. Paying such a price means expecting special treatment; for ordinary hospitality, it doesn't feel worth it. The meals are delicious but could be more attentive in service. The sea bream tea is outstanding!
