Not recommended at the current price range.

The room was not cleaned at all. Whether they are understaffed or their cleaning standards are unclear, the cleaning is simply not thorough. It was the high season and it cost about 30,000 yen per person, but I absolutely do not recommend it. I couldn’t find any suggestion box for the management company either; rather than the Hotel staff, the operator’s overall operations are far too poor. I hope someone contacts me after seeing this post.

    Satisfying for adults

I was pleasantly surprised by how excellent the all-inclusive offering was. The dining was also very satisfying—not a typical buffet, but with options like robatayaki. The Onsen is clear and colorless, but it leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. The only disappointment was that the loungewear pants were far too large. They can be adjusted with a drawstring, but I wish there had been a bit more variety in sizes.

    For a family of four.

I visited with high expectations after watching videos from recent guests showcasing the Hotel’s atmosphere and meals. As an all-inclusive stay, the spacious lobby and overall ambiance were very nice. The Room was clean, and the bath was wonderful—truly excellent. However, dinner was disappointing. I had been looking forward to the irori-style meal, but since it was July and likely hot, the irori in front of our seats was closed, and we were told to take food from where it was being grilled live instead. On top of that, there were few options, and I wouldn’t say it tasted very good. There were also fewer dishes than what I saw in the videos, which was very disappointing. In my opinion, breakfast was better. There were plenty of activities, and we enjoyed many of them. We wanted to do fireworks at night, but the front desk staff’s response was terrible. I don’t think I would return.

First Impressions of the All-Inclusive Experience

For my husband’s 67th birthday, we visited Yunishigawa Onsen for the first time and enjoyed our first all-inclusive experience. When I mentioned in a comment that it was a birthday celebration trip, the staff brought sweets toward the end of dinner. We were truly touched. Thank you very much. The Hotel was extremely well cleaned. When you enter, there is a forest right in front of you, and at the counter there are nuts, snacks, plastic cups, alcohol, and more. Since we don’t usually drink during the day, it felt more like a café for us. The Heike settlement and suspension bridge are nearby, so we enjoyed a relaxing walk. The staff were also very pleasant. The foreign staff in charge of the restaurant and late-night snacks were well trained as well. We stay at Onsen Hotels about 6–7 times a year; although the guest rooms feel old, this place had the best cleanliness by far. The Onsen and breakfast felt even better than the day before. Thank you very much.

Perfect for a trip with friends

There were plenty of activities, and the food was delicious. The bath and sauna were more ordinary than I expected.

Thank you for your kind and helpful support.

This was my first time staying here. After checking in and entering the Room, something felt off—I realized it was different from the Room I had reserved. When I asked at the front desk, they explained that there are Rooms of the same size but with different layouts than shown in the photos, and this time I happened to be assigned one of those. However, there was one aspect I simply could not accept, and when I consulted them, they kindly addressed it. I truly appreciate their help. I have stayed at another Kamenoi Hotel before as well, and their response to issues is excellent (in that case, heavy snowfall left us unable to go anywhere). Because this Hotel is located quite deep in a remote area, getting there takes some effort, but I would like to stay again if I have the chance.

    The facilities are outdated.

The in-room facilities are outdated. It seems the original Hotel may have been acquired by Kamenoi Hotel, but there are no accessible power outlets for charging a mobile phone. There is an electric kettle and a hair dryer, but there is no outlet to use them. I tried using the extension cord provided, but it did not supply power. When I drained the hot water from the unit bath, it overflowed onto the floor, so I called the staff. They responded quickly and cleaned it up with bath towels. I made this Reservation because of the Kamenoi name, so I was disappointed.

    Excellent service

I stayed during the Kamakura Festival. The road conditions were better than I expected. Since it was a holiday stay, there were five groups ahead of us at check-in. The Onsen boiled-egg service is a nice touch. The all-you-can-drink from arrival was excellent. For the Satoyama dinner, the charcoal heat wasn’t strong enough, so it didn’t get piping hot—unfortunately. Breakfast was very good. This is a Hotel with great value for money.

I’d love to stay here again.

The Kamakura Festival. An excellent location, just a 2-minute walk from Heike no Sato. The Room was clean, and the Onsen was wonderful. The food was delicious with plenty of choices, making it a great trip. Next time, in summer!

At long last, to the Kamakura Festival

We stayed at this Hotel for our long-awaited visit to the Kamakura Festival. The lounge was very satisfying, with drinks, snacks, and even soft-serve ice cream. However, after returning from the festival, we had some drinks in the lounge, but there was a wood-burning stove in one corner and the sofas around it were always in use, so we couldn’t sit there. In other areas, cold air came in every time the entrance door opened and it was chilly (since many guests were coming back from the festival, the door opened frequently). I wanted to enjoy more time in the lounge, but we ended up going back to our Room, which was disappointing. For dinner, it took a while for the hot pot over the irori hearth to heat through. When we spoke to a staff member, they simmered it for us in the back. We tried to be careful with dishes like hot pot and skewers cooked over the irori hearth as well, but we took too much and got very full, so we couldn’t eat the tantanmen. Breakfast was delicious—we could compare different eggs. I usually have bread for breakfast, but this time I had egg over rice. That said, I can’t eat a lot, so my husband and I shared two different types of eggs by splitting them in half. The dining staff were cheerful and attentive, which was great. This Hotel is very convenient because you can walk to the Kamakura Festival venue.

    Winter vacation with the family

There was only a little snow left, but the kids had a great time playing in the snow, roasting marshmallows, playing with the toys in the lounge, and enjoying some snacks. You can make hot pot for dinner; for our family, it was wonderful to be able to cook just udon for the children and serve them something warm.

    Luxurious and fully equipped.

Meals, Onsen, room, and facility use were all excellent. It wasn't too crowded, and I enjoyed playing table tennis and darts. The all-you-can-drink alcohol was truly satisfying.

    The Best Accommodation

This was the best Hotel I have ever stayed at. The cleanliness of the Hotel was excellent, and everything from the staff to the service was truly outstanding. Delicious food, great drinks, and enjoyable activities. You can't go wrong staying at this Hotel—you'll understand once you stay here. Seeing the smiles of other guests shows that everyone is having a great time. Thank you, Kamenoi. I would love to visit again!

There are many stink bugs and ladybugs.

I stayed during the autumn foliage season in November. The good points were the delicious meals, with each small dish being very tasty. I was very satisfied. However, there were ladybugs and stink bugs in the room, and when I asked about it, I was told they were swarming. I would appreciate measures to prevent them from entering the room. It made it difficult to relax. Additionally, the Onsen pump malfunctioned this time, which left a somewhat disappointing impression.

    A Long-Awaited Trip

I had a relaxing stay. Overall, I was satisfied, but there were some insects in the Room, and it would have been nice to have a separate brush and towels for use in the bathroom provided in the Room.

    We had a great time.

The meals and alcoholic beverages are excellent, but the accommodation is too old. The washroom was even repaired with duct tape. It's disappointing that the all-inclusive package does not include renovations to the accommodation.

    All-inclusive is great.

This was my first stay at an all-inclusive hotel. Since everything is included in the price, there were almost no additional charges, making it hassle-free. The meals were delicious. As it featured local mountain cuisine, I understand the limited seafood options, but having sushi would have been even better. The onsen egg was a great idea; however, I couldn't eat it as I'm not fond of raw or soft-boiled eggs. The bath experience was relaxing and peaceful, likely because we chose a good time to visit when it wasn't crowded. My husband and son mentioned that they could see a beautiful moon from the men's bath, but unfortunately, trees obstructed the view from the women's bath. Our entire family agrees that this hotel was excellent. We would love to stay here again!

    Moderate

No staff came out when we parked the car, and there was no word after check-out. The service at some Business Hotels might be better. It seems that the level of customer service depends on the staff member. We stayed in a Room on the second floor, but the hallway had an unpleasant smell. My son kept saying it smelled bad and wanted to get into the Room quickly. The Room itself was spacious and comfortable. There were table tennis tables and darts available, which we enjoyed.

    The staff's service ...

The staff's service was excellent and very pleasant. However, it was unfortunate that the Room's interior was slightly worn, and the view outside included noticeable waste. That said, considering the price, the service and meal quality were satisfactory. The bath was spacious with wonderful hot water. I would love to visit again. Thank you!

    Great value for money!

For those who enjoy alcohol, the all-inclusive option was fantastic. Despite the very hot day, I was able to enjoy a cold beer right after checking in. The buffet-style meals were satisfying for the price. The carp sashimi with vinegar miso sauce was delicious, and I could also indulge in plenty of sake and whiskey here. The leek dumplings at breakfast were something I had never tried before and were incredibly tasty—I ate two of them. As for improvements, water that seemed to be from an air conditioner dripped down onto the bench in the open-air bath area.

    Thank you for the meal!

Stayed for one night after a round of golf on an unstable weather day. Arrived before check-in but was able to relax in a calm lounge with sparkling wine while waiting. The Onsen had a roof over the open-air bath, so it was fine even in the rain. Dinner was enjoyed around a charcoal grill with sake. The salmon roe rice ball at the end was so delicious that I couldn't resist having seconds. For breakfast, I enjoyed tasting different premium raw eggs and the flavorful rolled omelet. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

    Reasonable prices

The all-inclusive accommodation is very affordable. It was nice to enjoy an alcoholic drink right upon arrival. The dinner venue felt a bit hot, possibly due to the robatayaki, but the shaved ice was cold and delicious. I also had the late-night ramen and went to bed with a full stomach. Breakfast offered a variety of dishes served in small bowls, and the rolled omelet was particularly tasty. It was our first family trip in a while, and we were very satisfied with this hotel. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Highly recommended.

We used this accommodation on our way back from a memorial service in Yamagata Prefecture, traveling by car from our home in Aichi Prefecture. Attracted by the term "all-inclusive," we made the Reservation and were extremely satisfied with the experience. The seasoning of the dishes was particularly excellent, and everything was delicious. We believe it will not disappoint, so we highly recommend it to anyone considering staying here.

    The room feels quite...

The room feels quite old, with a large crack in the sink bowl. However, it was thoroughly cleaned. The meals had fewer options, but I was happy to try everything that caught my interest. I especially enjoyed the tempura of firefly squid and went for multiple servings. For children, dishes like hamburg steak and fried shrimp were provided, which made them very happy. The Onsen egg-making time seemed to be fixed, but there was no clear guidance about it. When I went to make one, the time had already passed, so I couldn't make it—this was very disappointing. However, the staff member who assisted me at that time offered alternative suggestions and responded sincerely.

    Unfortunately...

The facility is old, but the lack of cleanliness throughout made it feel unhygienic. I was assigned a room on the second floor, which was on the same level as the dining area, and the smell was overwhelming. The dressing room in the large public bath had trash scattered around. Amenities in the open-air bath were placed haphazardly. I was shocked to find that you could see into the open-air bath from the first-floor lounge. Inside the large public bath, several baths were present but not operational. I had been looking forward to enjoying meals cooked over an irori (traditional Japanese hearth), but despite being heated, they were lukewarm or cold. Even reheating them at our table's irori only made them slightly warm. The fish (char) I had anticipated turned out dry and tasteless. Except for tempura, everything else felt either lukewarm or cold. Both breakfast and dinner lacked variety in dishes. For drinks, alcohol seemed to be prioritized; for those who don't drink alcohol, there was mainly a basic drink bar like you'd find at family restaurants. The staff were generally unfriendly with very few smiles—less than five times during my stay. There were almost no greetings exchanged—actually none at all. Whether it was reception staff, dining hall staff, or even those preparing late-night ramen noodles—they all seemed indifferent. At check-in time when I pressed a button to call someone over before saying anything myself—the first words from them upon arrival were "What do you need?" No guidance about activities provided whatsoever—not even detailed paper instructions available anywhere! While still eating meals silently without explanation plates would get cleared away abruptly; meal guidance spoken so fast nothing could be understood properly! Only one male staff member wearing glasses during morning checkout offered good service. This ryokan seems focused solely on creating Instagram-worthy aesthetics—it felt more like an extension of a student cultural festival rather than professional hospitality expected from such establishments! If this had been just another business hotel perhaps expectations might differ—but certainly not acceptable given claims emphasizing hospitality here! Everything being self-service meant there wasn’t any sense of genuine care extended towards guests... After spending hours traveling deep into Nikko’s mountains full anticipation ended up feeling utterly disappointed—a waste both money-wise & time-wise altogether! If considering staying somewhere similar offering all-inclusive services instead Mercure Hotel offers better value overall regarding pricing alongside quality content delivery comparatively speaking! Breakfast and dinner buffet

My first all-inclusive experience was very enjoyable. The staff member who assisted during check-in left a great impression. One small disappointment was breakfast—I wished there had been regular miso soup and a few more Japanese side dishes, like grilled fish. For dinner, it would have been nice to have more substantial side dishes and plain white rice in addition to the onigiri.

    This is my second time.

The food and drinks were the same as last time, but the room I stayed in this time was excellent. It wasn't a renovated room, but it was very clean, functional, and comfortable. I would definitely like to stay in the same room next time.
