    Our family stayed for two nights.

    We stayed for two nights as a family to attend the Universal Studios Japan private event. What was disappointing: 1) When we asked for the allergy information at breakfast, a staff member said, “You can eat almost everything,” without checking the details. (When I checked later myself, there were actually very few items I could eat.) 2) Noise from the hallway and neighboring Rooms was fairly noticeable. 3) The lounge pancake machine and hot dog service had long lines. (Right after the park closed, only one staff member was serving hot dogs, which caused a very long queue, and there was only one self-service pancake machine.) What was good: 1) The Room was clean. 2) There is a microwave and an ice machine on each floor. 3) The Room has a ReFa hair dryer and SIXPAD foot massager. This time we were only staying to sleep, so it wasn’t too stressful overall.

    Hotel lobby

    My first impression upon entering the Hotel was the smell in the lobby. I believe it was an air freshener, and it was the same scent as a Hotel on Awaji Island. Both my companion and I found it very unpleasant. The Room itself was fine, but whenever we stepped into the hallway, we noticed it again. It bothered us so much that even after spending a short time there, I started to get a headache. I understand you may not be able to change the scent just for us, but I wanted to mention it. Other than that, it was a very comfortable Hotel to stay at.

    The guest lounge was...

    The guest lounge was great. On the day I stayed, there was an event where I could meet Qoo, and it was amazing. So cute!! The breakfast was delicious too!

    The location and lounge were excellent!

    It was amazing to relax in the lounge after visiting Universal Studios Japan! All the staff were kind and helpful. The value for money was excellent, and I’ll definitely stay here again when I visit USJ!

    Thank you for staying with us every year.

    We stay here every year when visiting USJ in the summer. During this hot season, being able to use the free lounge is truly appreciated and very appealing, which is why we choose this place. I hope you will continue offering it. If I may add one request: since spending a full day at the theme park often means not getting enough vegetables, it would be wonderful if shredded cabbage were available as a topping for the hot dogs served in the evening. We look forward to staying again next year.

    The lounge is perfect for a summer break.

    ●Luggage Storage It’s great that guests can use it freely. I’d also appreciate lockers with doors on the first floor as well. Bags without locks can be opened even if they can be passed through with a card. ●Lounge Highly recommended, especially in midsummer. This may apply mainly to annual pass holders, but it was dangerously hot, so we left the park once and used the lounge while also checking in. Since we had a child with us, it was truly helpful. We were able to recharge with drinks and ice cream. ●Guest Room It was spacious enough. The foldable table and chairs were very useful for a late-night snack. Also, having a shoe dryer was a big help—we could dry our shoes after they got soaked during the wet show. ●Amenities I would have liked children’s pajamas to be available. ●Breakfast There was a wide variety of fruit, and we really enjoyed the freshly made burgers and egg dishes as well.

    This is my third stay.

    - This time, I had accumulated Oriental Club points, so I made a Reservation for a No Meals Included Plan and used points for breakfast. - The staff member at the front desk during check-in was very polite and clear, which left a good impression. - Since I arrived at the Hotel late, it was disappointing that I could not use the lounge available on the check-in day. - There were stubborn stain-like marks on the table in my Room that would not come off, which was unpleasant. - I wondered why one face towel in the bathroom was hanging fully unfolded. - I stayed in my Room until the 11:00 check-out time, but from around 10:00 there were repeated loud thuds—possibly from cleaning next door—strong enough to make the bed vibrate. I wasn’t sleeping, but I would have liked a quieter stay.

    Comfortable stay near the park

    Entry was smooth with the included park tickets. We were very satisfied to enjoy breakfast with the Diamond benefits. We checked in at 8:00 PM, and still enjoyed drinks and hot dogs in the lounge.

    The Hotel is nice, but...

    I have stayed here several times. The Hotel has been renovated, and the lounge is now available, which is a great improvement. However, although my stay included breakfast, there was no explanation on how to use it (I was worried it might require tickets). Also, this Plan includes original goods, but they were forgotten. At the breakfast venue, two young female staff members at the entrance kept chatting the entire time... While other crew members in the back were clearing plates and refilling dishes, they just kept talking nonstop. Maybe they cannot leave their position because they are assigned to greeting guests, but I would like them to at least clean up spills right in front of them. They seemed so absorbed in chatting that they kept touching their face and hair as well, which felt unhygienic. It was very noticeable, so management should address it. I stayed for about an hour, and they were chatting the whole time. If that is how greeters behave, then you do not need them at all.

    Great location.

    The bath and toilet are in the same unit. The Room feels like a typical Business Hotel. Even though it’s an Oriental Hotel, the dining and welcome space feel inferior compared with the Tokyo Bay location. What surprised me most was that even though we had a child with us, no one asked whether we needed a child’s chair when we were seated, and I ended up carrying one to the table myself. It was my first time experiencing that at a Hotel, so I immediately thought, “Huh?” It was also my first time at a buffet where no one came even once to clear empty plates. I’m dissatisfied with the service, but it’s close to USJ in Universal City, and what I liked most is that—unlike other Hotels near theme parks—the parking is 3,000 yen for 24 hours from entry. Usually it’s “XX yen for 24 hours” starting from 10:00 or 12:00 (some odd time set by the Hotel), and there are often extra charges before that or if you go over, so the parking was good in that respect. However, there are very few parking spaces.

    Used for my first visit to Universal Studios Japan in 20 years.

    We stayed for two nights to visit USJ for the first time in 20 years. We often use Oriental Hotel in Okinawa, and the breakfast donuts felt familiar. I wondered why there was no dinner service here, but the breakfast venue stays open until 9:00 p.m., offering hot dogs, pancakes, cookies, and complimentary soft drinks. Since we don’t have an annual pass, we couldn’t use it on our park day, but we were glad we could use it on our first night. Before check-in, luggage is stored in lockers; when our key got locked and we were having trouble, the staff unlocked it for us.

    Hot water

    The hot water at the sink was too hot. Even though it had an eco faucet, turning it even slightly toward hot made the water scalding. For some reason, the bidet seat was also far too hot—funny in a way, but it almost felt like I burned myself. The breakfast buffet was delicious. There were many Japanese guests, which made me feel at ease. When food or other items were spilled on the floor, the staff quickly wiped it up, which left a very good impression.

    Delicious breakfast.

    We stayed 3 nights across two Reservations, including this one. We visited Universal Studios Japan on Friday and Saturday, and the Hotel is so close that alone makes it worth staying here. We checked in late on Thursday after work, and we were out late on Friday, so we couldn’t use the lounge and missed the hot dogs—but we had them on Saturday night. They were delicious. There are drinks as well, so it was relaxing to come back after a long day at the park. We expected the Room to feel small with multiple beds, but sharing one Room as a family was fun and comfortable. It would be perfect if the bathroom weren’t a unit bath. As mentioned in the title, breakfast was truly excellent. You may need to line up for items like burgers and eggs Benedict, but it’s absolutely worth it. When breakfast gets crowded, they open an additional venue too, which was great. The orange juice mentioned in other Reviews was also delicious—I drank it every day. All staff members were friendly and welcoming with warm smiles, which made our Osaka trip even more enjoyable.

    Well-equipped Facility and amenities

    We stayed here to visit Universal Studios. It rained quite a bit that day and our shoes got wet, but the Room had a shoe dryer, so we were able to wear dry shoes the next day. The amenities included not only the usual items but even hair oil—impressive! The hair dryer was ReFa, and there was even a SIXPAD foot massager. We really appreciated these thoughtful touches.

    The service and facilities are terrible.

    When no hot water came out of the shower at my Accommodation, I called the front desk. The first male staff member said things like, “If there’s no hot water in that Room, then there shouldn’t be hot water in other Rooms either, but we haven’t received any inquiries from other Rooms,” and “That can’t happen,” making it feel as if he thought I was lying. I was extremely confused. After trying repeatedly with no hot water, I called the front desk again. This time a different female staff member explained, “There is a group staying here, and if everyone uses it at once, something like that could happen.” However, if using showers at the same time causes the Hotel to run out of hot water, isn’t that a serious problem? I went to the front desk in person a third time to complain before someone finally came to check—about 40 minutes after my first call. By the time they checked, for some reason the hot water was working. It’s hard to believe there was no hot water in the first place, but even more than that, I found their response unacceptable. I don’t know whether it was a malfunction or truly caused by simultaneous use, but I will never stay here again.

    Great value and thoughtful service.

    I have been staying at hotels of the same group in Okinawa every year, and this was my first stay at Universal City. Overall, I was highly satisfied and would love to stay at this hotel again. 【Highlights】 - IKYU Diamond Benefits: The benefits were substantial and highly valuable. - Consideration for Families with Children: Amenities and towels for children sharing existing bedding were prepared in advance, showcasing great hospitality. - Location and Convenience: USJ is just a stone's throw away, and having a Lawson convenience store next door is extremely handy. - Cleanliness: The facility was well-maintained, allowing for a comfortable stay. Having purchased an annual pass, I am certain to return here as my base for future visits to USJ!

    About Room Cleaning

    Despite being before the checkout time (11:00) and just after 10:00, cleaning staff entered the room while I was out for breakfast without permission. They started post-checkout cleaning, including bed-making, restocking amenities, towel replacement, and trash collection. As a result, everything except my toothbrush was cleaned up. After returning to the room to use the restroom or brush my teeth, there were no towels available and no place to dispose of trash. I believe it is unacceptable from a security perspective to clean a room with belongings still inside while guests are away before checkout. If checkout is set at 11:00, cleaning should only begin after that time. Coordination among staff should be improved. Other than this issue, I was very satisfied with my stay. Thank you!

    Disappointing stay.

    I was asked for my passport at check-in, which I found unnecessary. Even as a foreigner, my address clearly shows that I reside in Japan. Additionally, the front desk staff were very cold and unfriendly. No smiles at all. Despite passing by the front desk several times, there were no greetings from the staff. In the service industry, not greeting guests is unacceptable. I chose Oriental Hotel because I heard their food was delicious, but this particular experience was disappointing. It seems to depend on the hotel. On the second day, when my Japanese wife went to the burger corner and ordered just a hamburger patty, she had to wait for it. Later on, another guest (a foreigner) ordered the same thing and also waited. Waiting itself wasn’t an issue; however, they served that person first with a kind "Thank you for waiting," while handing it over to my wife later with just a plain "Here you go." The difference in treatment was noticeable. Although I won’t stay here again, I hope improvements are made based on this review.

    Enjoy Universal Studios and Hotel Stay

    I stayed for a multiple night stay to visit Universal Studios Japan. Located in Universal CityWalk, it’s just a few minutes' walk to USJ. The location is convenient for dining and shopping, with a Lawson convenience store right outside the hotel lobby floor. The room was spacious, and I felt safe as the elevator only stops at accommodation floors with a card key. I had requested some amenities in advance, and they were prepared in the room beforehand. Each floor had ice machines, microwaves (with chopsticks in drawers), tables, chairs, and vending machines which I made use of. There was a welcome service offering drinks and soft serve ice cream along with hot dogs and pancakes. Since you can’t take these back to your room and it gets crowded, visiting before park closing time is recommended. Breakfast included a variety of Japanese and Western dishes such as Osaka specialties like takoyaki (octopus balls) and quail egg skewers. There were also signature items from Oriental Hotel like freshly made hamburgers and eggs benedict. My favorites were the melon smoothie, sea bream soup ramen, and red eggs from Kyoto Tanba. According to staff members, 8:00–8:30 AM tends to be particularly busy. Conveniently, the TV home screen displayed real-time crowd levels for easy reference.

    A delightful breakfast sets a positive tone for the day.

    This was my second stay, and I noticed slight differences in the breakfast compared to last time, which was great. They offered hamburgers, eggs benedict, Japanese dishes, ramen, ice cream, cakes, and donuts. The ramen last time was tonkotsu flavor, which I personally preferred. The donuts had different mousses inside this time, which was a nice change. I'm already looking forward to seeing how the breakfast will be next time. This time we stayed as a family of four in one room. As with any accommodation, I feel it would be better if the bathroom and toilet were separate since it can be inconvenient when someone is bathing and another needs to use the toilet (though I understand space limitations). However, check-in and check-out were very smooth and stress-free. Overall, including the meals provided during our stay, this is definitely an accommodation I'd like to visit again!

    The meals are delicious.

    Second visit. The Hotel is clean, and the welcome drink and food services are excellent. The staff is also kind. It is very close to Universal Studios, making the location convenient. Breakfast can get crowded, but guests are guided politely in turn. However, the affiliated parking lot is always full, so you may have to wait for a spot or look for another parking option.

    Upon entering the entrance, there was a smell of sewage from the pipes.

    The same issue occurred the next day, with a smell similar to when the sewage system is not functioning well, as often experienced in hotels in Korea. Check-in and check-out took time, and the staff seemed inexperienced. I thought I had booked a good room. It was a triple room with plenty of space, but the unit bath was small, and the towels were small and worn out. The bed was also not of good quality.

    Highly Recommended Hotel for Visiting Universal Studios

    Oriental Hotel is one of our favorite accommodations, having stayed multiple times in Okinawa and Chiba. This was our first time in Osaka, and choosing this hotel was absolutely the right decision. The consistently delicious meals, lounge service before check-in, luggage storage service before check-in and after check-out, and the abundant amenities made it perfect for our family! The deluxe room had a comfortable size, and being able to see Universal Studios Japan from the room was an unexpected bonus. On the first day, we explored Osaka; on the second day, we spent all day at Universal Studios Japan. Although we couldn’t use the hot dog service due to our schedule, we fully enjoyed Oriental Hotel’s services. One small suggestion would be to increase the number of box-type safes for stored luggage—it would be very helpful. We definitely want to stay here again when visiting Osaka!

    We enjoyed the drink...

    We enjoyed the drink bar, hot dogs, and pancakes. The hotel staff provided courteous service, which was great. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

    Very good

    It was amazing. First of all, the location is very convenient. I really appreciated that they stored my luggage both before check-in and after check-out. There’s a microwave on the floor, and having ice available was a lifesaver in the heat. The daily bottled water for each guest was also greatly appreciated. The amenities were excellent, even including bath additives, which made me happy. The Room I chose had a unit bath, which wasn’t the most convenient, but I used it thinking it would be a good experience for my child—and we managed just fine! Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try the welcome drink or hot dog due to timing issues. The elevator security was great as you need a card key to select your desired floor. I’d love to visit again!

    The room was clean, and the bathtub was spacious, making it satisfactory even without a large public bath. The breakfast had a wide variety of delicious options, but during busy times, there may be waiting times, so it might not be suitable for early departures.
