    We had a very relaxi...

    We had a very relaxing stay. From the Room we could see Mt. Fuji, and the open-air bath with automatic temperature control was wonderful. The Room was also kept very clean, and the Ryokan’s ornaments and decor made it feel especially comfortable. However, the bed was very firm, which seemed difficult for someone with lower back issues. The food was great—especially the tomato wine stew (?). It was delicious. Hanabusa responds carefully to every Review and makes improvements, so I think many more guests and repeat visitors will come in the future. Thank you everyone.

    Enjoy a renowned hot spring while taking in views of sacred Mount Fuji.

    Fugaku Hanabusa is a wonderful hot-spring Accommodation where you can enjoy renowned baths while taking in views of sacred Mt. Fuji. It seems they are currently offering only Rooms with Mt. Fuji views, so on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji from the window of any Room. At check-in we were served a welcome drink, and there is also a lounge on the second floor where you can enjoy complimentary soft drinks in the evening and morning. You can see Mt. Fuji through its large windows, and even the large public bath offers Mt. Fuji views from big windows as well. This was our first visit. Unfortunately it was cloudy on the first day and we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but the next morning brought perfectly clear skies, and we were able to admire beautiful snow-capped Mt. Fuji—just like in the photos—from both our Room and our private open-air bath (it’s more like a semi open-air bath since it’s opened to the outside via windows). By the way, the complimentary drinks are non-alcoholic—which makes perfect sense, as drinking too much before bathing can be dangerous. The hot-spring water itself was truly excellent. I had been bothered by thickened skin on my soles, but after soaking many times, it came off smoothly while washing—such a surprise. “Beauty bath” really is an accurate description. I was told the water is set to 41.5°C, so hotter water flows in at times—too hot so I get out, then back in because it feels so good—repeating this again and again. In total I ended up bathing 13 times: 5 before dinner, 3 after dinner, once before breakfast after waking up, and twice more after breakfast until checkout! My previous record for one night was 8 times, so this easily surpassed it. I think this was possible because they kindly let us into our Room early even though we arrived ahead of schedule due to train timing—and also because checkout at 11:00 is exceptionally generous for a Ryokan. It also helped that there were so many options: an open-air bath in the Room, three reservable private open-air baths, plus a large public bath. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious one by one (as shown in the photos), and every staff member we interacted with was genuinely pleasant—making for an extremely satisfying stay. The building has some age to it, but it appears to be well renovated; we also heard another renovation is planned for this May. I’m sure it will become an even more wonderful Accommodation. It offers excellent value for money as well—I would love to return again. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us during our stay.

    Enjoying a bath while viewing Mt. Fuji is the best.

    The two of us in our 60s and 70s stayed here. The Room and bath were thoroughly cleaned, and we had a very comfortable stay. The meals came with careful explanations and were absolutely delicious. We would like to stay again.

    The open-air bath is amazing.

    I stayed at this Accommodation in a Room with a private open-air bath, which I had been curious about for some time. Even with a standard Room, there are three open-air baths you can use without a Reservation, so it’s highly recommended for hot-spring lovers. The meals were just the right amount for us seniors. The breakfast—small portions of various side dishes—was especially nice. This time, we stayed at a great value with an affordable Plan. Unfortunately, we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji as I had hoped, so this has become an Accommodation I’d like to return to and try again if I get the chance.

    A well-balanced Accommodation

    The open-air bath in our Room was large enough for two people, so we could soak comfortably and relax. It was also great to have a separate indoor shower. The Onsen water quality was excellent, and the temperature was just right for a long soak. The weather was nice, and we had a perfect view of Mt. Fuji from our Room. Both dinner and breakfast were the perfect amount, everything was delicious, and we were very satisfied. We will definitely come again. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Izu-Nagaoka is wonderful!

    After writing a few requests at the time of Reservation, we received a thoughtful reply email and were looking forward to our stay even before arriving. It was Sunday, and the nearby Kawazu cherry blossoms were extremely crowded, so we changed our plans to the next day. We arrived at the Accommodation quite early, but we were able to relax in the scenic lobby and recover from our travel fatigue. The Room was more than spacious enough for two of us, with large windows, and it was conveniently close to all the baths. We enjoyed both the open-air bath in our Room and the large public bath—the water was wonderful, and we could soak at length. Every dish was delicious, and the portions were just right for an older couple. We’re glad we chose based on the “fullness level” on your website! We were also happy to be able to enjoy coffee after dinner in the lounge or in our Room. All of your staff were pleasant, making for a truly relaxing stay. My husband and I have usually just passed through Izunokuni (Izu Nagaoka), but this time—sightseeing included—we really came to like it. Next time, we’d love to visit with our grandchildren.

    The open-air bath is amazing.

    The Room’s open-air bath was wonderful. The meal portions were smaller, which suited me well. Even so, I was able to enjoy a variety of dishes. It was amazing to soak in the bath while listening to music. There was also a portable speaker. I would have liked to have the in-room coffee or morning coffee available a little earlier.

    The view of Mt. Fuji from the Accommodation is wonderful.

    This was my second stay because I wanted to see Mt. Fuji again. With an open-air bath in the Room at a reasonable price, this Accommodation is quiet and relaxing, so I’d like to visit again to see Mt. Fuji. Lately, due to my age, I often can’t finish the meals at a Ryokan, but this time the portion size was just right. Of course, everything was very delicious as well.

    The accommodation is for people.

    After arrival, we were welcomed with a welcome drink and allowed into our Room early. All the staff greeted us with smiles and were very pleasant. We chose the Executive option for the semi-open-air bath and the furnishings. The Room was clean and comfortable, and we especially liked the bath amenities. Both the public bath and the in-room bath were so relaxing that we could have stayed in them all day. At dinner, we appreciated our attendant’s thoughtful care. We particularly enjoyed the non-alcoholic grape juice and the wagyu beef stewed in tomato sauce. For breakfast, the white rice was simply delicious. After our meal, we enjoyed rooibos tea and apple juice in the lounge. The next day, we could also see beautiful Mt. Fuji from our Room—thank you very much.

    I was able to unwind and recover from my daily fatigue!

    I stayed here for one night on a trip with my partner. We had a room with an open-air bath, and we could see Mt. Fuji from the bath—it was a truly luxurious experience. Overall satisfaction: 5/5! If I had to mention areas for improvement, the backrest of the floor chair in the room was hard and uncomfortable, and the dinner explanations took a bit long, so the foam on my beer disappeared. That said, the food was delicious and the baths were wonderful. I’d love to stay again.

    It was excellent.

    The weather was great, and we had a perfect view of Mt. Fuji. The Room was very spacious and comfortable. It was wonderful to watch the scenery change over time. The food at this Ryokan is truly outstanding. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a private dining room, so we could relax and enjoy our meals, and we were completely satisfied with both the quality and quantity. The allergy accommodations were perfect. We tend to return often to a Ryokan we like, so I think we’ll visit again soon. I want to share how great it is in my Review, but at the same time I don’t want it to become harder to make a Reservation—so I have mixed feelings (laughs). At breakfast, we received a letter from the staff member who took care of us at dinner the day before. They seemed to remember us from our previous stay, which really touched me and made me very happy. We’ll keep it carefully along with the menu. We had an incredibly enjoyable time and would love to come back again. Thank you for all your thoughtful care.

    Delicious cuisine and relaxation in the open-air bath.

    Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed breakfast and dinner twice. The food was delicious and filling, leaving me very satisfied. I relaxed in three private open-air baths, which helped relieve daily stress. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again.

    The large windows in...

    The large windows in the Room were very impressive, providing a sense of openness and making my stay very pleasant. It would have been even better if there was a TV in the bedroom. The private bath in the Room also had large windows, which was wonderful, but I noticed some dirt on the screen door, which was a bit disappointing. The free drinks available at the lounge during the evening and morning were a delightful point. I appreciated having lidded cups that allowed me to bring drinks back to my Room. It would be even nicer if there were coffee or tea machines in the Room. Additionally, having unique juices exclusive to this location would add a special touch. Dinner was served in a private room with attentive service, allowing us to enjoy our meal at leisure. However, it was slightly disappointing that the rice for the meat sushi was somewhat cold and hard. Being assigned to a corner room made for an exceptionally quiet stay. During travel, ensuring no noise issues is an important point for comfort. At breakfast, there was a handwritten message card with kind words like "Did you rest well yesterday?" which warmed my heart. When purchasing souvenirs during checkout, staff kindly answered all my questions and even explained recommended ways to use their products—this left quite an impression on me. They also carried our luggage to our car and saw us off warmly; I truly felt their exceptional hospitality. Thanks to such thoughtful care throughout our stay, it turned out to be an incredibly pleasant and memorable trip!

    I had a relaxing stay.

    I stayed in a room with an open-air bath. I made a sudden reservation, but the room was spacious, offered a view of Mt. Fuji, and was very comfortable. Although it was just one night, I enjoyed the private bath and open-air bath multiple times. The meals were served in a private dining room, allowing me to relax and enjoy the delicious food.

    This was my first stay at this accommodation. I was delighted to receive a welcome drink immediately upon arrival. There were also additional drink services, allowing me to relax with juice or coffee. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes, all of which were incredibly delicious. They accommodated allergies, and I was able to enjoy the food leisurely in a private room. The baths included three private options, and availability could be checked via mobile phone, so my family could use them multiple times. (However, since the changing area is outdoors, it can be quite cold in winter.) The room was clean and offered a stunning view of Mount Fuji from the window. A wide range of amenities was also provided. The staff members were very kind and attentive, and all services were excellent. I would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you very much!

    The meal was perfect for the New Year.

    It was my first time staying at this accommodation. I chose it because I wanted to see Mt. Fuji and enjoy New Year's cuisine. Although Mt. Fuji was a bit far and appeared small, it was nice to see it in the morning. The meals were as splendid as expected, featuring delicacies like spiny lobster and abalone, which were both visually appealing and delicious. The breakfast included traditional New Year's soup (ozoni), allowing us to fully enjoy the festive atmosphere. Unfortunately, the large public bath did not have an open-air bath; we had to use a private open-air bath instead. While the private open-air bath was free and available, the washing area seemed cold, and there was no view of Mt. Fuji or any scenery—just the sky above. As a result, we only used the large public bath. I appreciated being able to choose sparkling wine for the welcome drink; however, during subsequent drink times, no alcohol was offered, which felt a bit disappointing. The room was clean and well-maintained with a sense of cleanliness that I liked very much. However, there wasn’t any particularly memorable service or sense of value that stood out for me during my stay.

    I used this accommod...

    I used this accommodation to celebrate my partner's birthday. As we were running late for the check-in time, I called ahead and was met with kind words. Since our stay included dinner and breakfast, I initially thought we would have to eat immediately upon arrival, but they had reserved a later time for us so we could relax before enjoying our meal. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious and filling. The whole cake we ordered was also delightful, and the staff member who explained the dishes even sang a birthday song with us, making the experience fun and memorable. The guest room was very clean, and the open-air bath was fantastic. We also enjoyed a private bath as it was available; the temperature was perfect, and we could see beautiful stars—an amazing experience. Despite having allergies, they accommodated us wonderfully. Their email communication was polite and reassuring with messages like "We will take care of it; please don't worry," which truly put me at ease as someone with allergies. My partner was impressed from the moment they saw the exterior of the accommodation. They were moved by everything—the service, room quality, open-air bath, meals—and said to me: "Thank you for celebrating in such an amazing place." Hearing that made me so happy too! It turned out to be a perfect birthday celebration. Thank you so much! If I have another chance to visit Izu again, I would love to stay here!

    With Open-Air Bath

    We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. The water temperature was always perfect, allowing us to enjoy multiple baths, which was very satisfying. The parking lot was spacious and conveniently located nearby, making our arrival smooth. Meals were served in a private room for both dinner and breakfast, providing a very comfortable and delicious dining experience. The staff were extremely polite, adding to the comfort of our stay. One minor disappointment was that the Oya stone wall in the garden of the Room had some blocks exposed where stones had fallen off. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to stay again!

    During the autumn foliage season

    Stayed during an autumn trip to Izu. The slightly upgraded Room with a terrace was very lovely. It included a private open-air bath, terrace, and garden, enhancing the sense of openness and making the bath experience even more enjoyable. The baths include a large public bath, private open-air baths, and some Rooms with attached open-air baths. This time, we only used the in-Room bath. As suggested by its name "Fugaku," you can view Mt. Fuji from the open-air bath. However, since our Room with a terrace was on the 3rd floor, it was slightly harder to see Mt. Fuji; for those prioritizing views of Mt. Fuji over having a terrace, higher floors are recommended. We opted for breakfast and dinner included in our stay; both meals featured local ingredients and were absolutely delicious. The service was also very attentive and satisfying!

    We stayed in July an...

    We stayed in July and decided to visit again. Despite the unfortunate weather, it didn’t bother us as we enjoyed relaxing in the room. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom in the room was also perfect for a leisurely soak. It was extremely convenient to check the availability of the private open-air bath directly from our room. Meals were served in a private dining space, allowing us to enjoy them at our own pace. Although there were some issues, I realized they were due to my lack of attention, so I apologize for that. The dishes allowed us to feel the essence of autumn, and we were satisfied all the way through dessert. Breakfast offered a variety of side dishes that were visually delightful as well—something women are sure to love (laughs). We look forward to visiting again during another season!     A cozy accommodation with delicious cuisine.

    I made a reservation on the morning of the same day. When I called to confirm if my reservation was secured, the staff responded kindly and politely, which made me look forward to my stay. Upon arrival, a staff member from the accommodation came out to assist with our luggage. I was delighted to receive sparkling wine as a welcome drink. The check-in process was handled by an international staff member but felt very courteous. All the staff were friendly and made our stay pleasant. Although we didn’t use the public bath, we thoroughly enjoyed the private onsen as a family. We also indulged in the bath in our room. While both service and onsen were excellent, for me personally, it was the food that exceeded expectations. Even at luxury ryokans, children’s meals often consist of typical kids' menu items from restaurants, which can be disappointing; however, here they offered not only dishes generally liked by children but also vegetables and more elaborate side dishes. My child enjoyed it so much that they ate more than usual (even eating some of ours—especially loving the Pacific saury sushi). For adults’ meals, there was sweetfish sashimi which I tried for the first time—it was delicious! Everything tasted amazing with just-right portions that left us full yet satisfied. Breakfast featured small portions of various side dishes served on little plates; everything looked so appetizing that I ended up overeating. It turned out to be a weekend filled with delicious food and relaxing onsen experiences—thank you very much! We’ve found an accommodation we’d love to return to when visiting Izunagaoka again!

    The meals were absolutely exceptional!

    While the Room and hospitality were excellent, I was particularly impressed by the cuisine and the thoughtful care provided by the staff. For instance, we have a 5-year-old child and had not ordered anything other than adult course meals, which caused some concern. However, we were very grateful for the special arrangements such as rice, seasoning packets, and other considerate gestures. That said, I would like to point out two issues regarding the Room: ① There was no assistance with carrying luggage or explanation of the Room upon arrival (we had chosen what we thought was a relatively good Room). ② Dust had accumulated under the bed and in similar areas, making me feel that cleaning could be improved. If these two points are addressed, I believe there will be no issues! Just for your reference.

    Delicious Meals Guaranteed!

    The food was absolutely delicious, no matter what I tried! I had high expectations based on the reviews about the cuisine, but the meals far exceeded them. In terms of value for money, it was top-notch. The sushi made with Shizuoka beef, grilled right in front of you (likely a signature dish of this accommodation), was excellent. However, my personal favorite was the simmered dish (takiawase) with its perfect seasoning—it was so good I wanted seconds! The final dish, Wasabi Donburi, is a local specialty unique to Izu. What makes it exceptional is that each person gets freshly cooked rice in their own pot and grates fresh wasabi to create their own donburi with various toppings. To finish off, you can pour delicious dashi broth over it for an ochazuke-style treat. It was truly satisfying! When you open the window in your room, you'll see a full view of Mount Fuji right in front of you. At first, clouds were covering it so I didn’t realize Mount Fuji stood there majestically until I casually looked out while sipping tea—and there it appeared suddenly and magnificently before my eyes! It felt both delightful and humbling. Although Izunagaoka Onsen town seemed a bit quiet these days, we enjoyed walking to the ropeway station leading up to Mt. Katsuragi and exploring its summit course. From there we admired breathtaking views of Mount Fuji across Suruga Bay as well as the Amagi mountain range. I look forward to visiting again during winter to see Mount Fuji along with Hanabusa’s hospitality and the summit observatory views once more!

    Traditional Ryokan

    This is my second stay. However, the first time was during a previous era under a different ryokan, so this is my first visit as Nawanabusa. The hot spring quality in Nagaoka and Kona has always been excellent, but the bath here is particularly wonderful. The meals are creative and delightful. Oh, it's quiet and peaceful too. The view of Mt. Fuji is also stunningly quick to enjoy. I will visit again!

    A Long-Awaited Stay

    It was a long-awaited stay. The weather was great, and we were able to see Mount Fuji. The room was very spacious and extremely comfortable. The view mainly consisted of the river and mountains, which was refreshing for the eyes. The meals allowed us to feel the season and were absolutely delicious. Allergy accommodations were perfect as well. Adding the wagyu sushi was an excellent decision. However, dinner service felt a bit fast-paced, though it might have been because we ate quickly ourselves... Breakfast was also fantastic! It’s guaranteed that women will absolutely love it. As with our previous visit, the grated yam dish was especially delicious... We had a wonderful time overall and would love to visit again during another season. Thank you so much for all your thoughtful arrangements!

    Highly Satisfied

    To sum up, I was so satisfied with my stay that I said, "I want to stay here again!" even while still staying. The room, the private open-air bath in the room, and the reserved bath were all impeccably clean down to the smallest details. The meals were incredibly delicious, and I was deeply impressed by the ayu sashimi I tried for the first time. The hospitality of the staff was also outstanding, making me truly glad to have chosen this accommodation. If I had to point out something—though it's really minor—it would be that the toilet paper holder made a noticeable "clattering" sound when used after a long time. But honestly, that's such a small thing compared to how wonderful this accommodation is overall! I will definitely use it again in the future. Thank you for your hospitality!

    "Truly Relaxing!"

    This was my first time staying here. I have stayed at over a dozen accommodations in Izu Nagaoka Onsen before, and each had wonderful baths. This time as well, I fully enjoyed the "natural hot spring flow" onsen as expected. Mount Fuji occasionally showed its face, and the staff maintained a perfect balance of attentiveness, allowing me to spend a relaxing time. As I was leaving, I thought to myself that I would like to come back soon for another healing experience.

    Excellent Accommodation

    Both the room and meals were excellent at this accommodation. To make it even better, I would like to mention two points of concern: The private open-air bath in the room is made of ceramic, which can be slippery, so having something to hold onto might provide more safety. Additionally, when staff bring meals to the private dining room, they tend to open the door suddenly. It would feel more courteous if they could knock or call out before entering. That said, overall it was a wonderful accommodation. I tried ayu sashimi for the first time and was deeply impressed by the meticulous preparation. Thank you very much!

    The bath and the view were excellent.

    The room had a private open-air bath, allowing us to enjoy it multiple times. We were also able to see Mt. Fuji, which was very satisfying. The amount of food was just right, and it was delicious. Although the cleanliness of the room could have been improved slightly, overall we were satisfied with our stay.
