    A convenient and great-value Hotel.

I visit Karuizawa every year and usually stay at a Hotel with fairly high rates, but this was my first time using this Hotel. In conclusion, it was excellent (great value for money). Key points: 1) Great location. It’s an easy walk to both Karuizawa Station and Old Karuizawa. 2) The Room was better than expected. I reserved the largest Room, and it was very comfortable. The bath was also a large jacuzzi tub, perfect for relaxing. 3) Great meals. I stayed three nights with both breakfast and dinner included each day; everything tasted good, the portions were just right, and I didn’t get tired of the menu. 4) Great Facility and service. The free-flow drinks and various rental items were well stocked, which made it feel like a great deal. There aren’t many downsides—if anything, it would be nice to have a large public bath; the foreign staff member’s explanation of the dishes was a little hard to understand; and the restaurant could be a bit brighter. I’d definitely like to stay again if I have the chance. I just hope it doesn’t become so popular that the Accommodation Fee goes up too much.

The key issue is what to prioritize.

Given the convenient location and the meals and lounge access, I think this price is just barely acceptable during the busy summer season. Starting with inefficient check-in (ignoring arrival order and taking far too long), I realized you shouldn’t expect the same level of service as a typical Hotel. The Room was difficult for our family to use, with a high step and a mirror positioned too high to use properly. There was no task lighting, so it was dark and made applying makeup difficult. However, for those who aren’t bothered by these issues, the food is delicious and the loaner amenities are well stocked, so I think their evaluation would be completely different.

This was a repeat stay following last year. Last year, the Room felt slightly more spacious, so I assumed it had been upgraded. This time, it was the Room I reserved, but it didn’t feel cramped at all. I rented a massage chair and a foot massager, so the area around the desk became difficult to walk through, but that was on me and not an issue. I was able to relax. I was also impressed by the number of power outlets. I also enjoyed breakfast at a leisurely pace—it was delicious. Thank you very much.

Close to Karuizawa Station, and the service was warm and attentive.

Located along the Old Karuizawa Ginza Street and close to the station, it was very convenient, and we could easily reach the Hotel on foot. Classic Hotels are nice too, but many are in locations that become pitch-dark after sunset and are difficult to walk around; this Hotel has an excellent location. The meals were delicious, and while the Room is not particularly large, it is well laid out with good flow, so we had no issues. They also offered complimentary drinks including alcohol, with a great selection of snacks, and the fireplace had a real wood fire burning—making us feel truly welcomed by the Hotel and resulting in a wonderful stay. It felt like a Karuizawa Hotel we would love to return to.

    Affordable

Even though it was Golden Week, it was very reasonably priced, yet the meals were delicious. The location was also convenient, close to Karuizawa Station, and the staff were kind and attentive. I was truly impressed that all of this was available at this price. If I have the opportunity, I would love to stay again.

I think this is a Hotel that can satisfy everyone, from young people to seniors. The staff were friendly and pleasant, which was very nice. If I had to say something—though it may be asking a lot— it would be perfect if there were an Onsen at the Hotel or nearby. It was a truly wonderful Hotel.

    The Room is small.

The complimentary drinks service was a nice touch, but the Room was far too small—so much so that there was hardly anywhere to put our suitcases. Also, the Hotel sign was not very noticeable, and even though we drove close by, it took us some time to find it. Given the good value for money, it may be acceptable if you know what to expect.

    16 m² Standard Twin Room

We knew the 16 m² twin Room would be small when we booked it, but it really was cramped! Inside the Room, there was only a wall-mounted desk and one small chair. It felt like, “Where is the other person supposed to sit?” I wished there had been a folding table and an extra chair. The lounge offerings were very well stocked and impressive, but we couldn’t use it before dinner. We were told to take items from the lounge back to our Room instead, so we couldn’t relax and enjoy a coffee there. I stayed in a Room on the 2nd floor, and when I went down to the 2nd floor area there was a wonderful scent. In the hall, there was a lovely space where you could make your own bath salts and body scrub. All staff were kind, and when I called to borrow amenities they responded immediately. This stay was on my birthday. I missed reserving the birthday dessert plate at the time of Reservation (my mistake), but I did write in my message to the Hotel that it was for my birthday. If they had seen it, I wish they had asked at check-in whether I wanted them to prepare a birthday plate for an additional fee. The guests next door (and next to them) had birthdays on the same day as mine and received birthday plates. It’s my fault for not requesting one, but I was very disappointed. The food didn’t meet my expectations—I think I expected too much.

    I used this Plan for...

I used this Plan for a solo spring trip. The Plan included both breakfast and dinner, plus perks: a Hotel coupon worth JPY 2,000 and a gift of original goods. Dinner was a short course of four dishes plus dessert, but it was more than enough to leave me full. Everything was delicious, and the paella in particular was outstanding. The restaurant attached to the Hotel—where both breakfast and dinner are served—seems to be well-known for authentic Spanish cuisine, and there were non-staying guests visiting during both dinner time and morning time. (On my stay date, however, morning service seemed to be limited to guests only.) At dinner, I was able to use the coupon when ordering the course’s wine pairing. The Hotel was clean throughout, and with Facilities such as a washing machine and microwave, it seems convenient for longer stays. There were also many types of bath salts available, and it’s fun that you can mix your own favorites. Before my stay I was concerned about the walk from the station to the Hotel, but in the end I felt it had a great location with easy access to both the Old Karuizawa area and the station side. Both take a bit of time on foot, so I used the free rental bicycles. They were available from 13:00 on check-in day until 13:00 on check-out day—even before check-in and after check-out—which was very helpful. The bicycle parking area is about a 1–2 minute walk from the Hotel toward the station. From there it’s about 5 minutes by bike to Kumoba Pond, which is very convenient. It takes about 7 minutes by bike to reach the bicycle parking at the entrance of Old Karuizawa area; getting up to Mikasa Hotel requires cycling uphill for about 30 minutes. The staff were also very kind. The Hotel seems popular with international guests; there appeared to be many staff members whose first language is not Japanese as well, but everyone assisted me in fluent Japanese. Overall it was an extremely comfortable Hotel at a reasonable price, so I was very satisfied. I would definitely like to stay again when I visit Karuizawa next time.

    A charming boutique Hotel

A clean, cute boutique Hotel within walking distance of the station. The Room is very compact. The bathroom is a unit bath, but the ReFa shower was great. I was too full to fully enjoy it, but from evening to night, free snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages were a nice perk. Since it’s in the city center, the view from the window is of the neighboring building.

It was a very nice Accommodation. It was my first time using the ReFa Fine Bubble shower, and it felt great. One thing: I couldn’t find a place to hang towels, so I think it would be helpful to have one (though it may have been there and I just missed it). I also enjoyed the breakfast, but having salt and pepper on the table would have been nice so guests can adjust the seasoning themselves (though I’m sure they could be provided upon request). Overall, I was very satisfied and would like to stay again. Thank you to all the staff.

    Graduation Trip with My Daughter

I wasn’t feeling well and wasn’t sure what to do, but the staff responded flexibly and kindly, and in the end it turned into a very enjoyable trip. I was able to make wonderful memories with my daughter, who will be starting her first job in April. Thank you very much!

    A Hotel Overflowing with Hospitality

Thank you for your hospitality. - I reserved a compact twin room, and the cleverly designed storage made it very comfortable! The hotel was stylish everywhere, which was exciting. It had the perfect atmosphere for a girls' trip. - Breakfast was very luxurious and delicious. It would have been even better if the bread were a bit warmer. - The lounge, though open for a short time, was well-equipped! Enjoying drinks, snacks, and even ice cream in such a lovely restaurant atmosphere was fantastic. - Free rental bicycles were available! When I stopped by the hotel in the morning of my accommodation day to leave my luggage, I found out that rental bicycles could be used from that time. So I used them from morning until night. Located roughly halfway between Karuizawa Station and Old Karuizawa area, the rental bicycles were incredibly convenient! Even Kumoba Pond is just moments away by bike. - Above all else, I was amazed at how kind every staff member was. This time, I accidentally left something behind at the hotel; however, after contacting them, it arrived at my home by the next day. It was something important to me, so I felt truly relieved. I would love to stay here again when visiting Karuizawa! Thank you very much.

A Hotel I Want to Stay at Again

This was my first trip to Karuizawa, where I enjoyed both accommodation and meals. The staff kindly inquired about allergies in advance, confirmed again on the day, and ensured there were no disliked items in the course menu. Their attentive service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was also fantastic. The room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable to stay in. Each room had individually adjustable air conditioning, which made it very cozy. One small suggestion would be to have a table in the room, even a foldable one. I had a wonderful experience this time—thank you so much! I will visit again!

    Travel with ease

A spontaneous trip led us to this Hotel after hearing it was reasonable and good. Although I was initially concerned about the room's size during the Reservation, it turned out to be perfectly fine for two women, including my daughter, and we had a comfortable stay. The location, parking, staff service, rental items, welcome drinks in the lobby, free-flow at night—everything exceeded expectations and made for an enjoyable trip. Thank you for your hospitality.

    A casual and lovely Hotel

I chose this Hotel after seeing photos on Instagram while searching for an all-inclusive option. It has a casual vibe, but the building and interior design give the impression of being thoughtfully crafted. The free drinks and food offerings included a wide variety of alcohol, mainly liqueurs and whiskey. I wished there was sparkling wine available as well. Since there were many liqueurs, it would have been fun to have cocktail recipes or recommendations somewhere. Most of the food consisted of snacks and dry items. As bringing outside food into the free space was prohibited, it would have been nice to have an easily accessible menu with additional options like cheese or appetizers to order from. The rental items available were very diverse, including beauty devices that are not easy to purchase personally, which was great! You could borrow up to five items at once, which I appreciated. I stayed for two nights with breakfast included and enjoyed trying two out of four breakfast options offered—both were delicious and hearty enough for a good start to the day. The staff maintained a perfect balance between attentiveness and giving space; they answered questions thoroughly with smiles on their faces. Even the room-making staff greeted us warmly. One small downside: The bathroom was smaller than expected. However, if you visit nearby hot springs like "Tonbo no Yu," this might not be an issue for some guests. Overall, it truly is a wonderful Hotel. If I get another chance in the future, I’d love to visit again!

The Hotel offers excellent Facilities and has wonderful staff!

We stayed as a family. The 16㎡ room seemed small for three people, but as mentioned in other reviews, it didn’t feel cramped at all! The fridge had water and lemon cake, which was a delightful surprise! We stayed for two nights without cleaning service, but fresh towels and water were hung on the doorknob daily. This was another great point! When we asked if we could use the restaurant for dinner on short notice, they kindly accommodated us. The staff member in charge of the restaurant floor at that time showed exceptional care—not only in their demeanor and speech but also in their thoughtful attention to families with children. We were deeply moved by this kindness. All the other staff members were equally wonderful, leaving my spouse and me very impressed. There seemed to be many international staff members, but their training was impeccable—truly a testament to excellent education. Their warm and friendly service brought smiles to our faces! Thanks to the hotel’s atmosphere and the outstanding hospitality of its staff, we had an incredibly meaningful stay. We will definitely return again! Thank you so much!

    The breakfast was delicious.

Breakfast was not a buffet but a set menu, and it was very delicious. Additionally, the free drink time at night and the availability of board games like Othello in the bar were great features.

    It was excellent.

I made a reservation here during my visit to Karuizawa because I like the restaurant "Jose Luis" in Shibuya. The room was at the far end on the first floor, making it quiet. Although not very spacious, the room had a large bed that allowed me to relax comfortably. For dinner, I upgraded to a beef course as the main dish, and it was truly delicious as expected. I enjoyed my meal at a calm window-side seat provided for me. The unlimited drinks, snacks, and ice cream at night were fantastic—there were more options than I imagined! The high-ceiling bar with sofas offered a great atmosphere for enjoyment. Breakfast was also excellent with four choices available; everything looked so good that it was hard to decide. Additionally, having coffee available anytime near the front desk is definitely a plus point for me. While casual in ambiance, the high-quality meals and various services make this place very cost-effective. I would love to revisit when coming back to Karuizawa next time!

    Perfect for a girls' trip!

I found a model case for a solo weekend trip on social media and decided to try staying at this accommodation. It turned out to be a very satisfying trip—thank you! Although I had never been to Karuizawa from Osaka due to access issues, the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen encouraged me to give it a try. It was my first time visiting Karuizawa, and I was thrilled. The fresh greenery season meant it wasn’t overcrowded, making for a pleasant stay. The hotel was stylish with both exterior and interior design being lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed the amenities provided! While there weren’t extensive Onsen or bathing facilities, thoughtful touches like various bath salts to choose from and Mirable showerheads made up for it, leaving me fully satisfied. We were two non-drinkers staying together but appreciated the delicious coffee and variety of flavored teas available during daytime hours. Evenings were equally delightful with an exclusive bar area offering ice cream and dry snacks during limited hours—perfect for relaxing moments. We opted for breakfast and dinner at MADRID as part of our stay package; dinner courses were served at just the right pace, while breakfast offered four options to choose from—a fun way to start the day! The staff’s warm hospitality also left a great impression on us! If I had one suggestion... as shown in some photos online, signage indicating the hotel’s location near the station is hard to spot—it’s so stylish that we missed it entirely! As a result, we ended up carrying our luggage while strolling around Old Karuizawa instead of dropping it off before check-in. Even so, being close enough for early morning walks around Kumoba Pond or shopping near the station made everything convenient! It was such an enjoyable experience overall—I’ll definitely visit again soon! Thank you so much!

    Bath

Overall, it matched the positive impression from the reviews. However, there were two disappointing points: 1. The bathroom had an extremely unpleasant odor. It was so bad that it seemed as though a previous guest had used it improperly or that it hadn't been cleaned or disinfected for a long time. Is there no one to check after cleaning? Since we used the bathroom at night and my companion was tired, moving to another room at that time was difficult. 2. The restaurant manager appeared to be harshly scolding staff in front of other guests in the restaurant, which was uncomfortable to witness.

    It was comfortable.

I stayed with my daughter. The room was not spacious but clean and comfortable. All necessary amenities were provided, and the in-house wear was great. The free-flow drinks (including alcohol) were absolutely fantastic. The facility use tickets were a wonderful bonus. Since the room was small, a luggage rack would have been essential. Unfortunately, there wasn’t one, which made it difficult to find space for our belongings—this was a downside for us. We had breakfast at the restaurant, and the selectable breakfast plates were very filling, almost like lunch! Though I did wish for something lighter as an option. As for the bathroom, while I loved the ReFa showerhead, it being a unit bath meant I couldn’t enjoy soaking in it leisurely—another minor drawback. Despite these points, the positives far outweighed any negatives—I’d love to stay at this Hotel again!

    A Journey Enjoyed Through Cycling

I visit Karuizawa about once a year. However, I’ve started feeling tired from driving over 100km each time (Karuizawa is 155km away), so this time I visited by bus for the first time. The fact that the Hotel was within walking distance from the station and offered free bicycle rentals as an alternative to driving was fantastic. I enjoyed cycling through Kumoba Pond to Harunire Terrace and Stone Church, though it was a bit tiring. I had two meals at the Hotel, both of which were delicious and satisfying. There were also various rental items available. During the evening bar time, complimentary drinks and snacks could be enjoyed in your Room or in the lounge. I spent a relaxing moment in the lounge watching the flames. Since my stays in Karuizawa often coincided with rainy days, I was worried about the weather this time too, but both days were cloudy with warm temperatures—so warm that just wearing a T-shirt felt comfortable even though it was April! The atmosphere among the trees felt refreshing. In mid-April, trees are just beginning to bud; late May to early June seems like an ideal season for enjoying fresh greenery. I'd love to revisit during that period someday!

    Delicious meals!

I found this place on YouTube and decided to make a Reservation. It was such a luxurious course that I wish I had checked in earlier. The description says it's a few minutes' walk from the station, but as it was my first time, I felt unsure if I was heading in the right direction, and it seemed to take slightly longer than stated (the exit is on the opposite side of the mall). The Room was compact yet very comfortable and relaxing—absolutely perfect. The food was incredibly delicious, making both breakfast and dinner truly delightful! They offer bath salts to choose from, but not having a kettle in the Room or having short-sleeve loungewear with an additional layer (which I'm not used to) were minor inconveniences for me. However, all staff members were consistently polite and relaxed in a good way, which made my stay feel calm throughout. This place is highly recommended for girls' trips when you're feeling tired from daily life (or even if you're not), and I'd love to visit again!

    Very satisfied.

A 16-square-meter room was never an option for us before, but after reading reviews and seeing photos, we decided to give it a try. As mentioned in the reviews, the room was compact yet well-organized with everything we needed. The red checkered blanket added charm to the small room, and the blinds instead of curtains gave it a stylish touch. The lemon cake was also absolutely delicious. The evening free-flow session was not crowded, allowing us to enjoy an elegant time in the lounge, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed as well. For breakfast, having the main dish served directly at our table was perfect for us as buffets are becoming more challenging for older guests. It left us feeling full and satisfied. We were able to savor coffee leisurely again in the lounge afterward. This hotel truly provided a comfortable stay—thank you very much!

    Would love to stay again.

I made a reservation when the accommodation first opened, but unfortunately had to cancel during the COVID-19 period due to local government advisories. Since then, I hadn't had a chance to visit (though I went to Karuizawa several times), but finally stayed this time. I was looking forward to the meals and informed them of my food allergies in advance. While I didn't exclude ingredients I'm not particularly fond of, even those were deliciously prepared and enjoyable. The portions were generous, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything until the end. As I'm not much of a drinker, I didn't opt for wine pairing or free-flow drinks; however, I did try a little sangria from the free-flow options and enjoyed browsing through their variety of offerings. Instead of alcohol, I indulged in several ice creams! :) The games available for borrowing were fun as well—I'd love it if they could expand their selection in the future! The bath was spacious with great showers; however, one thing that caught my attention was that cold water occasionally spurted out along with bubbles from the jacuzzi jets (something I've never experienced before). This made it uncomfortable as cold water hit my body and caused the bathwater temperature to drop quickly—I adjusted by adding hot water frequently. Since I'm not fond of small rooms, I chose a larger room this time. However, after reading other guests' comments about how cozy even compact rooms are here, I'd like to try one next time. Lastly (though it's understandable since all hotels have increased prices over time), remembering Twin Line's opening rates makes me realize how much higher prices have become now ((+_+)). That said—I am very satisfied overall!
