    It was excellent.

    The staff's smiles and courteous service were simply outstanding. Even during the busy Golden Week, from senior to junior staff, everyone was truly attentive, making the stay very comfortable. Above all, the deliciousness of the meals was exceptional—nothing but gratitude for the efforts of the kitchen staff. Highly recommended Hotel!

    Great value for money with excellent service accommodation.

    It had been over 10 years since my last trip to Matsushima. I chose this hotel based on reviews, and it lived up to the positive reputation. I was grateful to be upgraded to a higher floor and a newly renovated room than the one I had reserved. The meal I was looking forward to was a seafood buffet, and it did not disappoint! I enjoyed fresh sashimi and various fish dishes. There seemed to be fewer guests, making the atmosphere quiet, but there were plenty of dishes available, so there was no disappointment at all. The staff recommended their favorites, which led me to eat more than I planned! There were also many desserts available; however, honestly speaking, they were just average in taste. If you visit here, I recommend focusing on enjoying the seafood instead. While some parts of the facility and room's plumbing showed their age, everything felt clean overall. One downside was that the bath wasn't an onsen. However, my family seemed satisfied with everything including the accommodation fee. All of the staff provided excellent service—I’m glad we chose this hotel!

    Very satisfied

    The view from the ocean-side room is fantastic, offering an exclusive sight of Matsushima. We were blessed with good weather, and the sunrise reflecting on the sea was also wonderful. The seafood buffet includes not only robatayaki but also a variety of steaks, tempura, and desserts. It would be perfect if the large public bath were an Onsen.

    Good value for money

    I stayed on the night of Sunday, 2/16. I usually use an Onsen Ryokan on Saturdays almost every month, but despite it being a Sunday, I felt there were more guests than ever before. I was attracted by the price and the reputation of the buffet and made a Reservation, and indeed it lived up to expectations. The customer service was courteous, and the meals had an abundance of seafood; I think it's excellent value for money. Personally, compared to the Business Hotel in Ichinoseki where my spouse and I stayed for 11,000 yen the previous day with wonderful beds and pillows, this place didn't feel as comfortable in that aspect alone.

    Second visit

    I stayed again this year following the year before last. Last time was early summer, so I couldn't eat oysters, and I was hoping for a revenge. However, the steamed oysters I was looking forward to were terrible. Both the taste and appearance were disappointing. The seafood was reasonably delicious, but the sushi rice was too soft. Considering the price, I think I can be satisfied. Last time, the bath was at the front, so I had a good view of Matsushima from the open-air bath, but this time it was at the back, and the view was mostly blocked by the forest in front, which was disappointing. The room was clean, and the view was spectacular. Breakfast was very satisfying, just like last time. Especially when I got freshly made French toast, it was the best. I enjoyed it with vanilla ice cream and bacon. Considering the cost performance, I am satisfied, so I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

    The buffet is amazing.

    I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room on the ocean side with my daughter who attends university in Sendai. Although it was an old hotel, the room was beautifully renovated. The view from the room was wonderful. Perhaps because it was midwinter (or because I'm not from the Tohoku region), the interior was a bit chilly, and moving around in a yukata was cold, so I wore a coat when going outside the room for meals or to the bath. The shuttle service driver and the staff at the front desk and restaurant were very friendly and kind, and their service was excellent. Above all, the buffet had a wide variety of delicious dishes, and my daughter, who has a big appetite, was very satisfied. Perhaps because it was quite late at night, the cleaning staff for the large public bath frequently walked by to clean, which was a bit distracting and made it hard to relax. Overall, I was satisfied and would recommend it for use with family or friends.

    What else can be said but wonderful?

    This was my fifth stay, and I believe the level of hospitality has improved even more than before. The smiles of the staff are simply wonderful. From the moment of welcome, through check-in, and guiding us to the room, their cheerful greetings and smiles, even through masks, were truly delightful. I immediately thought it was a great choice to stay here at the start of the new year. The seafood buffet dinner maintained its high quality as always, with a variety of dishes, freshness, atmosphere, and service. Although there are slight personal preferences in seasoning, I was satisfied with everything. Thanks to the energy, smiles, and attentiveness of the restaurant reception staff, the delicious food tasted even better. During a previous stay, I was concerned about a mold-like smell in the room and suggested the installation of a disinfectant deodorizer. It was properly installed, and the room's odor was improved. The view from the room's bath was spectacular, and we could see the sunrise in the morning, which was perfect. There were also events for children and live piano performances, making me want to definitely repeat my stay in the near future.

    Decided to stay for a birthday present and oysters.

    I visited over 10 years ago and the oyster dishes were excellent, so I wanted to go again and visited as a birthday present. The change was the room key; we went as a couple and there were two keys, so we could each have one and return to the room at any time, which was nice. We were given a room with a nice view, and I was impressed by the beautiful scenery when we entered the room. The small night view and the sunrise were also wonderful. The meals were buffet style, and we could eat as much as we liked. We enjoyed the oyster dishes we were looking forward to. The other dishes were also delicious. I wanted to try a bite of each type, but there were too many varieties, so I gave up. The bath was clean, and it was nice that the washing area was divided, and the view from the open-air bath was the best. The only slight disappointment was that I like hot baths, so it felt lukewarm. It is perfect for slowly soaking in a lukewarm bath. I wished there was at least one small hot bath. From check-in to check-out, the staff were kind, courteous, and easy to talk to. It was a wonderful trip.

    I am a repeat guest.

    We went with my daughter's family, three grandchildren, and us, booking two Rooms for the buffet we had before and the view from the Room. The seafood buffet was as delicious as ever. Even though it was mid-November, we were blessed with warm and sunny weather, creating good memories.

    It was given to us as a gift at our daughter's wedding about six years ago. This time, we used it during the birthday month of our daughter and son-in-law. We enjoyed the seafood buffet as delicious as ever.

    A Relaxing Sibling Trip

    It was a sibling trip to Sendai for the first time in two years. We were able to experience the illumination of Zuiganji Temple due to the timing. There was a shuttle bus from the Hotel, making it a perfect night stroll course after dinner. The staff at the Hotel reception were very kind, and the friendly service during meals made our stay enjoyable. Both my elderly brother and sister were happy when they returned. Thank you very much.

    The Room is in a beautiful Hotel with a spectacular view.

    It may not be new, but the lobby has a high ceiling and a shiny marble floor, giving it a luxurious Hotel feel. The sea-side Room offers a panoramic view of Matsushima Bay, and the Room, with its modern Japanese style, was a twin, but it was spacious in a good way for a couple. The toilet and Room bath were separate, well-maintained, and we had a comfortable stay. One night was not enough. The service was also very good!!

    Stayed here for the first time in 5 years. The sea-facing room had a great view, and the food was excellent. Highly recommended accommodation. I would love to stay again if I have the chance.

    The view from the room and the meals were excellent.

    This was my first trip to Matsushima. I stayed at Hotel Matsushima Taikanso for the view of Matsushima Bay from the room. There was a bus from Matsushima Kaigan Station to the hotel, but after sightseeing at Oshima, I saw the hotel nearby and decided to walk. The slope was steep, but it took about 10 minutes from Oshima. Even from the room on the second floor, the view was spectacular, and the sunrise was wonderful. I would like to stay next time when the snow has piled up. For the dinner buffet, I chose the Japanese-style seafood buffet. The fresh and abundant variety of sashimi, sushi, and other live kitchen dishes were very delicious, and I was very satisfied. The breakfast buffet also left an impression with freshly baked croissants and sasa-kama. The large public bath was clean, and the open-air bath offered a panoramic view of Matsushima Bay, but the view was better from the room.

    The view from the Room is wonderful!

    Since the Hotel is located on a hill, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Matsushima from your Room, allowing you to indulge in the wonderful scenery during your stay. The view was better than from any observatory or sightseeing boat! In any case, the view is amazing. We recommend the sea-side Rooms. The lobby and restaurant have high ceilings, giving a more luxurious feel than expected. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, leaving a good impression. The plump and large chili shrimp and engawa sushi were particularly delicious. Thanks to the bright and courteous service of the front desk and restaurant staff, we had a great trip.

    Visited Matsushima f...

    Visited Matsushima for the first time with a friend! Upon arriving at the Hotel, I immediately registered as an SP member and used the free drinks in the exclusive lounge. We were the only ones there, so we could relax. The reception didn't mention anything, so I wondered if others were unaware? (I asked about it myself) The Room was a corner room on the 5th floor, with windows spreading across the Room, offering a fantastic view that left us very impressed. The Room was modern, clean, spacious, and very nice. We chose the seafood buffet for dinner, and the sashimi was delicious. In my experience, it was the best among the buffets I've tried so far! The sushi was made right in front of us, with small rice portions, grilled yellowtail, and fatty tuna, saury, yellowtail, and flounder, all rich in flavor and delicious. Thank you for the meal! However, it was a bit disappointing that there were only fried oysters available. I would love to stay here again when I visit Matsushima.

    It was very good.

    The meal was a seafood buffet, which was very delicious and had a wide variety of dishes, making it excellent. The breakfast buffet was also very good. The view from the open-air bath was wonderful! The building is not new, but the interior seems to have been renovated, and the guest rooms were very clean. Other hotels in Matsushima were quite expensive, but I thought the cost performance here was excellent. All the staff were kind.

    The quality of the buffet is high, and the live piano performance is excellent.

    I couldn't enjoy much as I'm not fond of buffets, but this property is perfect for those with a hearty appetite. The property is spacious and offers a view of Matsushima Coast from the lobby. It would have been better if the onsen water temperature was a bit higher. This property offers great value for money. Thank you for your hospitality.

    The Japanese-style seafood buffet is excellent.

    This was my first time using Stays. The seafood buffet and sashimi were all fresh and plump, and the sushi was very delicious. The children enjoyed not only sashimi but also fried chicken and potatoes. There were various desserts, and they were delicious too. It was a bit disappointing that the large public bath and open-air bath were not Onsen. However, the bath with a view of Matsushima was very pleasant. The Room was clean, and with a 2 PM check-in and 11 AM check-out the next day, we were able to relax. The staff were all kind and it was a pleasant Property. I would like to use it again!

    Even on the third floor, the view of Matsushima is not good from the sea-side Room.

    There were no face towels or hand towels in the room. There were only body towels and bath towels to take to the bath. The bath water was not Onsen. The room was on the sea side, but since it was on the 3rd floor, the view of Matsushima was obstructed by pine trees and the 3rd-floor garden, which was disappointing.

    The dinner is delicious.

    The Room was thoroughly cleaned, the air conditioning was good, and it was spacious, making for a very pleasant stay. I was attracted by the low price, so I chose a Plan without a view, and I have no complaints. The firmness of the bed was just right and comfortable. I would be happy if there were lower pillows available. It would be nice to have pajamas like loungewear instead of yukata. Dinner had a wide variety and everything was delicious, which was very good. Breakfast was... ordinary. All the staff were very pleasant. I went to the shop to look for souvenirs, but there was nothing I wanted to buy. I would like to see a little more variety. Thank you very much. I appreciate your hospitality.

    Wonderful accommodation.

    Stayed with family. I was worried because my elderly mother was with us, but the staff's kind response reassured us. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, as they were delicious. The view from the room was also wonderful, and everyone was pleased, but unfortunately, the air conditioning was centrally controlled, making the room cold due to the cooling operation. I was concerned that my elderly mother might catch a cold. Other than that, it was a very wonderful inn.

    Unexpected dinner and breakfast

    The location is great for sightseeing, and the hotel's free shuttle bus is convenient. The only slight drawback was that, due to the size of the hotel, the room in our plan was a bit far from the large public bath. However, the dinner buffet had so many options that it was almost a downside! (laughs) Although I usually dislike buffets, this one changed my mind with its quality. Thank you for the hospitality.

    Delicious seafood

    Whenever I visit Matsushima, I stay here without hesitation. I especially love the seafood buffet. Since I live in a landlocked prefecture, I take this opportunity to eat to my heart's content! The shuttle bus is also very helpful! I'll visit again next year!

    Very good.

    The view of the sea from the front is like a resort hotel and is very soothing. The room was also clean and comfortable. The dinner buffet had a wide variety of dishes and was delicious. Breakfast was also very tasty, with omelets and rolled omelets cooked on the spot. It seems that freshly baked croissants are also brought around on a wagon at certain times. Also, the hairdryer in the large public bath was gentle on the hair. I would definitely like to visit again.

    Ocean view and Japanese, Western, and Chinese seafood buffet - the best!!

    First of all, I was deeply moved by the breathtaking view of Matsushima from the lobby. The sea and pine trees of Matsushima were very beautiful. The ocean view open-air bath was also pleasant and wonderful. Above all, the meals were incredibly delicious. I'm sure all the chefs are amazing. To be honest, I initially wondered about having a buffet for dinner, but the quality of each Japanese, Western, and Chinese dish was high, and the seafood salad and more left me very satisfied!

    The first sunrise of the year

    I came with my sister, niece, and husband, making it four of us. The view from the room's window was amazing, and the next day, I set an alarm to wake up and watch the sunrise carefully, which was incredibly moving. Thank you, Taikanso. The all-you-can-drink service the previous day was excellent, and the manager, I think, was very humble and had a kind smile, which was wonderful. I would like to guide guests here again.
