    The location and meals were excellent.

    I stayed on a weekday during the gap in Golden Week. The hotel is located on a hill overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, and I imagine the sunset would have been stunning if the weather had been good. I only used the restaurant for breakfast, which featured many local ingredients and was very delicious. On days with beautiful sunsets, they offer champagne and orange juice service in the lobby. Unfortunately, I couldn't see a beautiful sunset, so that part gets 3 stars from me. However, it’s still a wonderful Hotel that I’d love to visit again!

    The staff at the Hotel were very accommodating.

    The staff's service was excellent; however, I felt disappointed when visiting the large public bath, possibly due to the presence of a group of overseas guests. During the meal, we chose the later time slot and were informed of a 90-minute time limit. However, about 30 minutes into our meal, a few staff members began cleaning up, and by around 45 minutes in, many more joined in. While I understand this might have been for efficiency as there were few other diners besides us, it completely took away from our enjoyment of the meal. Although there were several disappointing aspects during our stay at the accommodation, the staff were kind and very pleasant.

    First Time on Shodoshima

    The Room was spacious and clean, which was great, but the unit bathroom could be improved. The open-air bath felt lukewarm, possibly due to the low temperature that day. The meals were generally delicious, with the strawberries being exceptional.

    Dinner Buffet

    The tables are placed close to each other. A large foreign guest next to me was speaking loudly on the phone, which was unpleasant. Even after requesting a seat change from the staff, it was not accommodated. The staff seemed inflexible; at least I wish they had seated me next to another female guest. The strawberries were sweet and delicious, and the freshly fried tempura was excellent.

    It was good.

    I used it during the January holiday. The meals and the bath were particularly good. The Facility itself feels a bit old, but there is no problem using it. They were holding a strawberry fair, and it was said to be their own production. It was delicious. There are many attentive staff members.

    I stayed for the fir...

    I stayed for the first time. As rumored, the beautiful evening view! In the evening, I enjoyed listening to string instrument performances while drinking sparkling wine in the lobby with a wood stove, and the next morning, I participated in events like having kinako mochi, which was fun. The only disappointment was the boiled crab at the dinner buffet... It would be better not to serve it in that condition. That would increase satisfaction. The staff's response was excellent!

    Wonderful view

    The beautiful sea and islands can be seen from the Room, which is very satisfying. The welcome fruit strawberries were sweet, and the afternoon tea, a suite room benefit, was also delicious. If I had one request, it would be that the restaurant for dinner was cold, which was unfortunate.

    We went to Shodoshim...

    We went to Shodoshima for the first time on a silver wedding anniversary trip, and it was a very nice place with a wonderful Hotel. The Room was clean, and the amenities were of high quality. The French dinner was excellent, allowing us to enjoy local Shodoshima ingredients, and we were particularly surprised by the deliciousness of the olive beef. Conversations with the service staff were enjoyable, and the wine paired with the meal was delicious and satisfying. We were touched by the surprise anniversary dessert plate. It happened that we were the only couple who chose French cuisine, so it became a luxurious private space, creating a good memory. Breakfast was a buffet, but it was crowded with inbound groups, so we couldn't have a leisurely and quiet meal, which was a bit disappointing. It would have been nice to have a Plan where we could choose breakfast... Shodoshima and the Hotel were places we would like to visit again.

    More than satisfied ...

    More than satisfied with the reviews. The room was spacious and clean, even though it was no meals included, and I was able to relax very much. The temperature of the large public bath was a bit lukewarm, but the open-air bath was very pleasant! If I ever go to Shodoshima, I definitely want to stay at this hotel again.

    The service is a bit

    The meals were buffet-style, but I wished they had served olive fish, a specialty of Shodoshima. Also, they hardly came to clear the plates, so everyone was taking them away themselves.
