I had a wonderful trip.
After watching the NHK special program on Mariya Takeuchi, I made a Reservation to stay here. It was exactly the charming Accommodation I had imagined. While enjoying the alternating BGM of songs by Mariya Takeuchi and Tatsuro Yamashita, we savored delicious and beautifully presented dishes. The location right in front of Izumo Taisha is unbeatable! You can visit Izumo Taisha before breakfast, experiencing its serene and sacred atmosphere in the early morning with fewer people around. The hospitality from the staff was exceptional, making this an Accommodation I would love to stay at again when visiting Izumo. Thank you very much!

Excellent Ryokan
I had always wanted to stay here when visiting Izumo. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed with attentive service. The dinner was exceptional, both delicious and beautifully presented, offering a feast for the eyes as well. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I was thoroughly satisfied. Wonderful Memories
Located very close to Izumo Taisha, this accommodation offers a convenient location and free parking for guests. The exterior, garden, and interior all exude charm. Most notably, the cuisine is exceptionally delicious. The seasonal menu allows you to enjoy the dishes with all five senses. The staff's hospitality and attention to detail made for a memorable trip. A wheelchair is also available at the ryokan, making me want to bring my parents here someday.

A charming accommodation
I chose this accommodation for its convenient location, as I wanted to visit Izumo Taisha early in the morning. This elegant accommodation near the shrine offered excellent meals, and although I usually prefer bread for breakfast, I enjoyed everything without hesitation. I would like to mention that it would be helpful if there were a note on the reservation site regarding the room's view. I hope to visit again if I have another opportunity.

Before arriving at the Ryokan, we stopped by an art museum, which caused us to hit rush hour traffic on the way. It was already 6 PM while we were still in the car. The Ryokan called to confirm our arrival, and we arrived about five minutes later. The staff was very kind and welcoming. The meals were like Kyoto-style cuisine with a light flavor that highlighted the ingredients, showing great attention to detail. There was a wide variety of dishes for both dinner and breakfast, and they were excellent. Our Room was one of the most affordable options, so the view outside resembled a typical residential area. However, it seems that better rooms offer views of a Japanese garden. The entrance area, hallways, and courtyard had an atmosphere reminiscent of Taisho-era romance, which was delightful. The amenities were standard; however, the shampoo provided was excellent. One aspect we felt could be improved was the bedding. The futon mattress used Airweave but had only about 5 cm thickness. It made sleeping very uncomfortable for all of us throughout the night. We believe thicker Airweave mattresses—around 10 or 15 cm—would have been much better. Thank you for your hospitality!

A Ryokan with an excellent location and an elegant atmosphere.
The convenient access to Izumo Taisha was the main reason I chose this accommodation, and as expected, it made traveling easy, allowing me to enjoy sightseeing in the evening and morning. I was impressed by the Mikimoto amenities provided. However, I felt that having cotton pads available for using lotion or moisturizer would enhance satisfaction. There were a few points of concern: In the changing room after using the bath, there was a noticeable amount of hair on the floor, which was quite bothersome. Regular cleaning or providing lint rollers could improve cleanliness and comfort. Additionally, I found it slightly disappointing that there was no open-air bath. During meals, there was no initial explanation provided about how to use items like soy sauce, which caused some confusion. On a positive note, I thoroughly enjoyed the coffee brewed with your coffee maker—it was truly delicious! The "Tsuru" blend stood out as something I'd want to drink repeatedly; it clearly reflected attention to detail. The unique selection of souvenirs available for purchase also added an interesting touch. If I have another opportunity to visit Izumo in the future, I would love to stay here again!

You can always enjoy a comfortable stay.
This was my third stay. I thoroughly enjoyed the autumn dinner menu; it was very delicious. I had a relaxing and satisfying time. I will stay at this accommodation again. The filter cleaning light on the air purifier in the room was blinking.

Located very close to Izumo Taisha, guests can enjoy a serene and precious experience of visiting the shrine in the quiet morning hours. The meals, accompanied by alternating songs of Tatsuro Yamashita and Mariya Takeuchi, were all incredibly delicious and highly satisfying. The displayed flowers were also lovely. The free coffee offered was a locally sourced specialty brew, which added extra charm and showcased local pride. It was truly an exceptional Ryokan filled with love for the region. Of course, I bought some coffee to take home!

For a gratitude visit to Izumo Taisha
Two years ago, my husband and I stayed in the Suga Room here when we visited Izumo Taisha to pray for our daughter's good match. We were also taken care of when visiting with our daughter, but this time we came to give thanks for her blessed match, and since my husband loved it so much, we chose this room again. The atmosphere, meals, and location for visiting the shrine are excellent—I think it's the best accommodation. The Best Memories
I finally had the chance to visit Takenoya, a place I’ve known about since I was young and always wanted to go. Located right in front of Izumo Taisha, I was able to visit the shrine on the first day and again in the morning of the second day. The complimentary coffee was delicious, the bath was relaxing, and the souvenir corner offered everything from charming traditional items to goods from Mariya-san and her husband’s tour—just browsing through them was enjoyable. The meals were beautifully presented, incredibly delicious, and truly heartfelt feasts that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was also wonderful that their music played softly during dinner. I will definitely visit again when I return to Izumo!

As a fan of the Yama...
As a fan of the Yamashita couple, this Ryokan is absolutely amazing, but even for regular visitors, it’s exceptional. The food was truly delicious and impressive. Additionally, I was delighted to find a variety of Tatsuro Yamashita and Mariya Takeuchi merchandise available.

Everything was excellent. The location and atmosphere matched the information on the internet very well, and I found them to be outstanding. The service was great, with a sense of hospitality. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that the parking spaces are available on a first-come-first-served basis, which made me slightly anxious about availability when leaving. If there are no capacity issues, having white lines or markers might help improve this aspect. I only tried breakfast, but it was delicious. The traditional Japanese style matched the Hotel's concept and location perfectly, leaving me very satisfied. I would like to recommend this place to my acquaintances as well!

It was a quiet Ryokan where I had a good night's sleep.
Upon arrival, the entrance has a pleasant fragrance. The Facility, including the large public bath, is impeccably clean. I was surprised that I couldn't hear any noise from closing sliding doors or toilets at midnight, thanks to soundproofing. The room also features blackout curtains and Airweave bedding for ultimate comfort. With two air conditioners in the room, you can turn off the one near the bed for a restful sleep. The overall hospitality is thoughtfully designed and impressive. The staff provides kind and attentive service. This is a Ryokan I would definitely visit again. As a souvenir, I purchased "Mariya-chan Karuta," which features phrases read aloud by Mariya Takeuchi on CD along with Tatsuro Yamashita's voice—a rare and highly recommended item!

I stayed here for my visit to Izumo Taisha. The building has a historical design that exudes traditional charm, while the Room was beautifully renovated, allowing me to relax comfortably. A charming Ryokan worth staying at.
Renovated to provide a comfortable accommodation space. The exterior and interior exude the charm of the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras, complemented by folk art decorations and souvenirs that add to the relaxing atmosphere. The young staff were calm and provided just the right level of service without being overbearing. If I visit Izumo again, I would love to stay at this accommodation. Thank you very much!

Izumo Taisha
I woke up at 5:30 AM and visited Izumo Taisha. The wide approach was empty, making it a refreshing experience. Since the shrine grounds open at 6:30 AM, I took a walk around the area. I noticed donation boards for what seemed to be the main hall enshrinement festival, and saw the names Tatsuro Yamashita and Mariya Yamashita listed as donors. It surprised me that it wasn’t "Mariya Takeuchi," though it makes sense. The previous night, I stayed at Tamatsukuri Onsen. While the stay was pleasant, I found that the cuisine at Takenoya was much more refined and delicious by comparison. Currently, Mai Asada is featured in TV commercials for Airweave mattresses; since we stayed in the same Room she did, my wife and I are reminded of our trip every time we see it on TV—and now we're considering visiting again!

It was a memorable accommodation.
Located in front of Izumo Taisha, this accommodation is known for being popular and often fully booked. However, I was fortunate to stay on a weekday trip to Izumo. The food was absolutely delicious, and I was delighted that breakfast included zenzai. The large communal bath is not an onsen but was clean, spacious, and easy to use. During dinner, music by Mariya Takeuchi and Tatsuro Yamashita played alternately. Although I'm not a fan, it created a pleasant atmosphere. Above all, being right in front of Izumo Taisha allowed me to visit the shrine again the next morning for an early prayer when there were fewer visitors. I could fully feel the divine energy of the place. This ryokan has become my must-stay accommodation when visiting Izumo Taisha. I will definitely return!

This time, we stayed in the "Sugano Room." It was truly a wonderful room that left us deeply impressed. The garden, which changes its expression depending on the time of day, was soothing and made us forget the passage of time as we enjoyed moments of quiet reflection. The meals were carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. We stayed as a couple, and my husband was particularly moved by the view from the bath in our room. He also enjoyed browsing through the goods corner featuring items related to Mariya Takeuchi and Tatsuro Yamashita. An accommodation where you can find tour merchandise—how special! The staff at this accommodation were kind and thoughtful; we are very grateful for their hospitality. I visited for a trip to Izumo Taisha Shrine. It was helpful to be able to leave my car during the visit. The meals were delicious, and the background music featured plenty of Mariya Takeuchi and Tatsuro Yamashita. However, at checkout, I purchased 8 souvenirs but only received a receipt for the drinks from dinner—there was no detailed statement for accommodation or souvenirs, just the card payment slip. Additionally, after completing payment, I was informed that there would be an extra charge for a plastic bag to carry the souvenirs. It was disappointing as other places provided shopping bags willingly without additional charges.

Close to Izumo Taisha!
The location is excellent, being close to Izumo Taisha Shrine, and we were able to leave our car in the Ryokan's parking lot while visiting the shrine. Although we arrived much earlier than the check-in time, they kindly allowed us to use the parking lot, which was greatly appreciated. The Ryokan offers delicious meals and free coffee. As it is the family home of Mariya Takeuchi, there is also a corner selling goods related to Tatsuro Yamashita and Mariya Takeuchi. For a couple in their 60s, it was a nostalgic and relaxing Ryokan experience.

Second stay
The first stay was as a couple, and this time it was with family. We were able to leisurely explore places like Izumo Taisha, Hinomisaki Lighthouse, and Shimane Winery. Hospitality is key.
