I’d like to stay here again.

Although we stayed during the hot season, we were able to play in the river in front of the Hotel and had a great time. The water was clean and not too deep, and we were happy to see our dog enjoying it—it made us glad we came. We didn’t use it this time, but next time we’d like to have river-play photos taken. The meals also felt carefully prepared dish by dish. The salt-grilled ayu was delicious. At dinner, a female staff member was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was set up like a half-buffet system, and items that ran out were replenished promptly with attentive care. The bath water didn’t feel particularly like an Onsen, but the baths were spacious and relaxing. The open-air bath felt slightly hot. Given the times, it seems they are operating with a small team, but there were thoughtful touches such as a 24-hour self-checkout system at the shop and mops and small vacuums available in the changing area for guests to use. Since all guests had dogs with them, we could relax without worrying about others. We’d like to stay again during the autumn foliage season or when fireflies can be seen.

    We’re sorry to hear that.

The service was extremely poor. First, there was a woman at the front desk who seemed like a new staff member. Other guests received complimentary dog treats at check-in, but I did not, which felt unfair. Also, there was no 안내 about the amenities being located next to the front desk, so I returned to my Room and realized there was no toothbrush, and had to go back to get one. It’s not that she is a bad person, but she seemed inexperienced. Until she becomes comfortable with the work, someone should be assigned to support her. This causes inconvenience for guests. Next, at breakfast there was a man clearing tables. When I finished my meal and said “Thank you for the meal,” he ignored me. Shouldn’t staff proactively say “Thank you” when guests leave their seats? Although some staff were friendly, it was very disappointing overall. The poor attitude of some staff and lack of proper training left me with an unpleasant experience. Also, regarding the toilet in the Room: used toilet paper had been left unflushed. This is unacceptable. Are you cleaning properly? And do you check everything at the end of cleaning? I want a refund. Overall, it felt like a cheap Hotel.

I’d love to stay here again.

This was our second stay at Wanwan Paradise, following our visit to Toba. It is quite deep in the mountains, and there were no signs until we got close, so we were worried we were heading the right way. Surrounded by nature, we could enjoy a relaxing walk, and there is also a dog run right in front of the Hotel. Perhaps because there weren’t many guests, it felt like we had it all to ourselves while we were using it. The front desk staff told us we might be able to see fireflies, and when we walked along the dark road at night, we were able to see them for the first time in a long while. The Room was spacious, and we could relax in the Onsen as well. Dinner was at 7:00 PM, so since we arrived early, it felt like a long wait. Service seemed a little slow, but everything was delicious. We would like to stay again.

There seemed to be a limited number of staff, and the only disappointment this time was that the drinks we ordered at mealtimes took quite a while to arrive. Other than that, the food was delicious, the Onsen was relaxing and pleasant, and the staff were very courteous, so both we and our dog had a comfortable stay. We would definitely like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    This was our second ...

This was our second trip with our dog. On our first trip, dogs were not allowed outside the Room, so we had to leave him behind during meals and he felt lonely. This time, we could dine together, and all the other guests were also enjoying their meals with their dogs. It is a Hotel where you can truly feel the care and consideration for dogs, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.

    I felt disappointed.

This was my first stay at this accommodation. The cost was a little over 200,000 yen per night, possibly due to the New Year holiday rates. Unfortunately, my overall impression was one of disappointment. When I checked in and tried to unlock the room door, I had trouble as the key seemed old and difficult to use. Additionally, we were only given one key, which made it inconvenient for family members entering and exiting separately. The entrance area is narrow with an inner door, making it hard to move in and out smoothly. It seems like this might have originally been a Ryokan or Hotel that was later purchased? The guest rooms felt quite outdated except for the toilet area. We had to set up our own futons—this felt surprising considering we paid over 200,000 yen per night... Another issue was around the sink area: there wasn’t enough space for both toothbrush cups and cosmetics at the same time. There wasn’t a hairdryer near the sink either; instead, it was placed on a vanity table deeper inside the room where there’s no extra space for anything else but just that hairdryer itself—making it very inconvenient for everyone in our family when getting ready or doing makeup. Each person received only one bath towel and one face towel which we brought with us to use at the bathing facility downstairs since no towels were provided there either—could additional ones be requested? It felt inconvenient. When using the first-floor bathing facility as well: while women’s dressing areas did provide seating (4 spots), unfortunately all surrounding floors nearby those seats were scattered heavily w/ strands everywhere left uncleaned causing discomfort walking barefoot avoiding stepping onto them awkwardly tiptoeing out instead! Are staff numbers limited here perhaps? Despite receptionists & meal-serving personnel being polite/professional handling things nicely otherwise—it left lingering dissatisfaction overall sadly!

    I had a pleasant stay.

Thanks to the staff being informed about my dog's reactions to people and other dogs, we were able to spend our time calmly without any unnecessary interactions with my dog. I truly appreciated it. During meals, the staff served from the opposite side of where my dog was, allowing me to enjoy my meal with peace of mind. From check-in to meals and check-out, everyone responded with such warm smiles that I had a very pleasant stay. At night, I could clearly hear barking from the neighboring room's dog. The door stopper placed at the entrance of the Room was completely ineffective and did not hold at all.

    Pet-friendly

The Facility is old but very clean, with pet-friendly flooring. You can enjoy both dinner and breakfast with your pet. Thoughtful touches for pets can be seen throughout, allowing for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Since we stayed as a group of three, one person used a futon. However, with just one futon, it was a bit uncomfortable due to age-related body aches. A mattress would have been appreciated. Overall, we were very satisfied. Thank you very much.

    Dog-friendly accommodation

As expected from a Hotel specialized for dogs, everyone was very kind to them. It was unfortunate that the private dog run couldn't be used due to the rain. The bath was spacious and comfortable, but it was disappointing that there was no drinking water in the changing rooms of both the men's and women's baths. Both the evening kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious. I would love to visit again. The woman at the front desk was extremely kind—thank you!

    I will not go again.

Dinner was disappointing except for the grilled sweetfish. The sashimi had an unpleasant smell and was served in a chipped dish, which was truly disappointing. For breakfast, there was steamed food, but mine wasn't cooked through and only finished steaming by the time I had already finished eating. They started clearing the table early because the next guests were arriving, leaving no time to eat properly. The miso soup was too salty, and the tamagoyaki lacked flavor—overall very disappointing. If it were a reasonably priced accommodation, it might have been forgivable, but despite paying around 93,000 yen for two people at this accommodation, we were told to set up our own futons. I don't think I'll ever return again.

    Dog-Friendly Accommodation

This was my first time staying here. The weather has been very hot lately, making it difficult to take my dog to a dog run, but the grassy area here was perfect for walks. Even though my dog is usually not fond of water, they discovered the joy of playing in the nearby stream and seemed to have a great time. The meals were delicious; however, the ceramic plate grill didn’t cook well and was a bit hard to eat from, so I hope this can be improved. I would love to visit again soon. Thank you!

Although it was only the beginning of July, it was quite hot, so we could only play a little at the outdoor dog run. However, there was also an indoor dog run, which was very helpful! Additionally, playing in the river felt refreshing. At dinner, alcohol prices were on the higher side. However, both the Matsusaka beef and grilled salted sweetfish were delicious. The serving staff interacted with our dog every time they came by, which made our dog extremely happy. The Onsen was amazing!

    It was comfortable.

We stayed in a loft-style Room with the Special Kaiseki Plan, accommodating four people and one dog. At the dinner venue, various dogs were seated as part of their families, creating a peaceful and heartwarming atmosphere. It was truly a relaxing time prioritizing dogs, but the Room and bedding were kept clean with no odors. There are plenty of places to explore nearby; our 12-year-old toy poodle enjoyed river play and running freely within the spacious grounds, seeming rejuvenated after returning home. The meals were delicious, and the staff at both the front desk and dinner venue were very pleasant.

The two connected Rooms were spacious and allowed for a relaxing stay. The meals were delicious, and the staff's service was excellent. Although the building is old, it was kept clean. However, the ammonia smell in the Room's toilet was strong, and perhaps due to its age, the dirt on the sink was noticeable. The area around the Hotel has plenty of greenery, making walks with our dog enjoyable. We would love to visit again!

    Golden Week Travel with Pets

The view was beautiful and very relaxing for both body and mind. There were several dog runs, which we could use comfortably. The room was quiet, and the sound of pets didn’t bother us. One minor issue was that the outside of the guestroom windows was dirty, which felt like a waste considering the great view. The meals were good; breakfast had plenty of options including a buffet, but it might be better to reduce breakfast slightly and improve the dinner menu instead. For soup options, there were miso soup and clear broth soup; having just one would suffice. The Onsen was very pleasant. It seems like it would be wonderful during firefly season or autumn foliage as well. I’d love to visit again if I have the chance. The staff were also kind and attentive, which I appreciated greatly.

    Pet-Friendly Hotel

Pet-friendly accommodation located in a quiet mountain area. There are both outdoor and indoor dog runs, though the indoor one had some odor concerns. Many guests were staying with their pets, so it was easy to stay without worry. The staff were very kind and provided excellent service, making me want to stay here again if I have the chance.

    Overnight Trip with Your Dog

This was my first time using Wanwan Paradise. You can spend time with your dog everywhere except the bath. It's truly a doggy heaven! The property is spacious and allowed us to relax. The meals were delicious as well. I’d love to visit again during the autumn foliage season. Thank you!

    I visited Matsusaka Wanwan Paradise!

The Hotel is quite old but kept clean and tidy. Unlike other places I’ve stayed where dogs had to be kept in a cage, here they are free to roam in the Room and even sleep on the futon with you, just like at home. I’d love to visit again!

Dogs were lively and vibrant in nature.

I was delighted to see my dog enjoying the natural surroundings, different from our usual environment. It felt heartwarming to meet others who also brought their dogs along. It's wonderful that the place prioritizes dogs... I would love to visit again. However, as it’s a bit far from home and there are no rest stops along the way, it was a little tough for my car-sick dog. I’ll consider planning a better route next time.

The front desk and dining service were polite and pleasant, but other services were mostly self-service. We used the Hotel's Facility for putt-putt golf, but it was disappointing as it was concrete and weeds instead of proper greens. It would be nice to see some improvements, such as laying artificial turf.

    This is my third stay.

I finally had the chance to stay here after waiting through the winter, as it’s a snowy area. The accommodation has evolved in many ways, such as adding meals and ordering drinks via LINE, but it still offers the comfort and peace of mind of being a dog-friendly accommodation, allowing us to enjoy our stay. At accommodations where dogs are "also" allowed, we often feel hesitant or restricted. Please let us visit again. Additionally, I believe the Onsen at this accommodation is absolutely exceptional.

The Hotel itself is excellent! However, the Room's dog run is...

The Hotel staff were very kind and accommodating. The Room was well-equipped with various supplies for dogs, which was very helpful. However, we stayed in a Room with a private dog run for our small dogs, but despite usually being active and running around, they hesitated to do so in this dog run from the beginning. We thought it might be because it was their first time there and tried playing ball with some of them, but later noticed they were trembling or licking their paws. Upon checking, we found that the areas between their paw pads had turned red. The dogs that stayed indoors were fine, so it seems the artificial grass in the dog run didn’t suit our dogs. We had been looking forward to enjoying the Room with a private dog run, so it was disappointing. The nearby dog park by the Hotel had natural grass instead of artificial turf, and our dogs happily ran around there.

    Traveling with 3 Dogs

It was my first time in Matsusaka, but I liked Wanwan Paradise and have used it several times. I like that there is a dog run and you can dine together. The staff's response was also good. However, the walls between the rooms are thin, so I was quite bothered by the noise and barking of dogs.

    Relax in a spacious Room

This was my second stay, and I was upgraded to a large room where I enjoyed sitting on the tatami with a low table and cushions after a long time. The view was expansive, and the large room was indeed nice! The Onsen was slightly lukewarm, allowing me to stay in for a long time and relax. The grilled fish for dinner was freshly cooked and delicious. One small downside is that there wasn't a microwave in the room to warm up food for my dog, but it was convenient as there was one just outside the room this time. I hope to visit again when it's warmer so that my cold-sensitive dog can enjoy walks.

Both people and dogs will be fully satisfied.

We used this for our wedding anniversary trip. This time, we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a special room by the hotel's courtesy, and both we and our dog were able to relax in the spacious room. Although the building itself is old, there was no dog hair, and there was no animal smell in the lobby, corridors, or room at all (if you have pets, you know how difficult it is to maintain this...), so it was very clean and comfortable. Also, the pet amenities and variety of meals were quite abundant and received high praise. The Onsen attached to the hotel was at a perfect temperature, and we enjoyed it while looking at the mountains. There was also a dog run, and seeing our dog run around at full speed for the first time in a while made us glad we brought him. The surrounding environment was also good, and we enjoyed a pleasant walk. The meals used local ingredients, and even the standard menu was quite satisfying. There are no convenience stores nearby, but we were able to buy various things at the lobby shop, so we didn't feel inconvenienced (since it's a self-checkout, you can purchase 24 hours a day, which is convenient). All the staff greeted us with smiles, making it a memorable trip. My wife said she would like to stay again, so we hope to visit again while our dog is still healthy. Thank you very much.

    I don't think I will go again.

We stayed in a room for one night for two people costing over 60,000 yen due to my husband's schedule. There were few power outlets, as it seemed to be a ready-to-use property. The room key was almost broken. It was written that there is Wi-Fi, but it kept buffering. The bath was really hard to find, and I couldn't get there without my husband's guidance. The indoor dog run was just like the lounge itself. Even within the same Wanpara, the atmosphere is completely different. I was anxious as there were almost no oncoming cars on the way. I thought it would be nice to have at least one signboard. The food was delicious, and all the staff were cheerful.

    This is my third stay.

Putting dogs first is the most important thing. Being able to dine with your beloved dog is a must. I've stayed at various Ryokans, and since being around other dogs is also soothing, I prefer a setup like Wanpara, rather than eating in my own Room. I would like to stay again in the summer.
