    I was very satisfied.

    The buffet dishes were all truly delicious and impressive!! The all-you-can-drink alcohol included in the plan price was also very helpful. There were many onsen options, and the open-air bath with a stunning ocean view was breathtaking. The hospitality was very warm, making it a completely satisfying accommodation experience. Being able to enjoy fishing right outside the hotel was also a great bonus. This is a highly recommended hotel for both small groups and large parties!

    Amazing experience

    The hotel is truly special and amazing! The onsen and the view from the top of the mountain are particularly outstanding. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends if they travel to Japan.

    Cave Onsen

    I booked this accommodation based on recommendations from multiple friends and acquaintances, and it exceeded my expectations. It’s a great hotel for families, couples, or groups of friends to enjoy together. We arrived after 6:30 PM but wanted to try all the different types of onsen available. On the first night, we visited four onsens back-to-back and were exhausted by the end. The next morning, we tried two more to complete them all. Watching the sunrise from the "Bouki-dou" bath was absolutely amazing. I recommend staying for at least two nights. The meals are buffet-style with an impressive variety and high quality—everything was delicious! A delightful service was being able to take coffee to-go; paper cups were provided so we could enjoy a cup in our room. We used a shuttle service via minibus for transportation, but apparently there’s also a shuttle service connected with sightseeing boats—I’d like to try that next time. This time, my spouse (both in our 50s) stayed here together, but I wish I had known about this place earlier when our kids were younger—it would have been perfect for annual family trips! In the future, I’d love to come back with my children and their spouses or even grandchildren. However, since some baths and dining areas are located farther away within the property, it might be challenging for those over 70 depending on individual mobility. We stayed in the main building which felt slightly dated but still charming overall—it truly is a wonderful hotel that I highly recommend. The bath right by the sea is stunning; it’s definitely a place everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. I managed to capture beautiful sunset photos upon arrival near the sightseeing boat dock—an unforgettable moment!

    Hotel Urashima for Complete Satisfaction

    This was our second stay as the whole family was very satisfied last time. We checked in by boat, and the cave baths were absolutely amazing. The Forgetting Cave and Genbu Cave were so satisfying that we almost forgot to leave. Additionally, the buffet had a wide variety of dishes, leaving us completely full. Although the facility is spacious, clear signage made it easy to navigate without getting lost. It was a trip that satisfied every member of our family. Thank you!

    It was excellent!

    I stayed at Hotel Urashima. I had used it a few months ago, and this time I stayed after riding the turtle-shaped shuttle service boat. As before, the baths and meals were excellent! The hotel staff's service was also outstanding. I was happy to find a Lawson convenience store inside the hotel! I enjoyed sightseeing in Wakayama with the best feeling. I would love to stay again if given the chance. Thank you!

    The sunrise view from the bath was amazing!

    I stayed at the accommodation for a solo trip. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style. There was a wide variety, and everything was absolutely delicious! On top of that, it was all-you-can-drink!!! I approached it with great excitement, haha. For the bath, I entered Boukido at sunrise. The sound of Pacific waves crashing and the mystical light of the rising sun made me feel like only good things could happen—it was truly moving! The facility felt a bit like a maze, so I walked quite a lot, but considering its location, that might be unavoidable. The staff were very polite and kind as well. I definitely want to come back again!

    The staff were kind, the view was great, and it was comfortable.

    The accommodation has been renovated and looks much nicer compared to when I stayed in April two years ago. The staff were kind, and I would love to stay again. I was also moved by the sunrise view from Hashikui-iwa.

    Stayed in a Japanese...

    Stayed in a Japanese-style Room for one night. Woke up with back pain—would appreciate having a mattress under the futon. The bath at Bokido, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and offering a view of the sunrise, was absolutely amazing.

    Cave Onsen! Relax with the sound of the open sea!

    Finally made it! Two open-air baths and two indoor baths! (Gender-swapped) Enjoy a fulfilling hot spring tour within the facility! Can't wait to visit again!

    Gradually deteriorating...

    The prices at Sango-kan keep increasing, but the menu has been reduced with fewer options. The quality of dishes like fried chicken, tempura, and sushi is no longer worth dining at Sango-kan. It is more reasonable to use the main building below, which includes drinks. I don't think I will visit again in the future.

    Family trip with a 4-year-old and an infant

    For our first trip to Wakayama, we chose Hotel Urashima, known for its attractive Onsen. We arrived at the pier by car and then took a turtle-shaped sightseeing boat to the hotel. The excitement was overwhelming, and my son was thrilled upon arrival. Our room was in Nagisa-kan, offering a serene view of the bay that felt truly elegant. Although we were initially concerned about the large size of the accommodation and long walking distances, we managed well with our 4-year-old son who loves Onsen and our baby in a stroller. Exploring felt like an adventure as we came across a retro game center along the way, which added liveliness to our journey. We also enjoyed participating in a stamp rally that made it surprisingly manageable. My son particularly loved Genbudo Cave Bath located in Nissho-kan; he was delighted by how waves splashed into the men’s bath area! For our baby, there were baby baths available, and though there weren’t many other families with babies around, other guests kindly interacted with us often. Late at night near midnight when visiting Onsen can sometimes feel eerie due to emptiness elsewhere, this accommodation remained lively even close to 11 PM as guests continued enjoying their Onsen tours—making it both vibrant and reassuring. The buffet offered freshly fried tempura and delicious plum wine among other dishes. Since Wakayama is famous for plums, I indulged in plenty of umeboshi (pickled plums), which were absolutely delightful. The next morning began with riding one of Japan's longest escalators up to Sanjo-kan’s promenade path where breathtaking views stretched from bayside scenery out toward endless Pacific Ocean horizons—a highly recommended experience! Later on contacting them regarding forgotten items belonging specifically towards infants post-stay resulted promptly locating those safely back ensuring peace-of-mind gratitude extended sincerely here too much appreciated indeed overall! Thanks again wholeheartedly extending warmest regards entire staff team exceptional hospitality provided throughout stay looking forward returning future occasions supporting always ahead!

    The view of the sea ...

    The view of the sea from the room and the variety of Onsen facilities are satisfying. However, the quality of customer service varies depending on the staff, with some being kind and others providing inconsistent responses. For example, when I once inquired about sending a forgotten item back via cash-on-delivery, I asked about an estimate for the cost. The response was, "We will get back to you regarding that!" but no follow-up call came, and instead, the package arrived first without prior notice. It is unfortunate that while there are kind staff members, the inconsistency in service from some employees negatively impacts the overall impression of the Hotel.

    The Onsen and the meals were both excellent!

    I stayed during the heaviest snowfall of the season. Despite the snow, it was a clear day, and from the cave bath called Bokido, I had a panoramic view of the blue Pacific Ocean, enjoying a comfort that didn't feel like midwinter. The buffet meals featured specialties from Kumano and Wakayama, as the name "Kumano cuisine" suggests, and I enjoyed fresh and delicious raw tuna, squid, and sea bream for dinner. However, I thought the fish toppings for the sushi were thin. Breakfast was also good, especially the sea bream chazuke, where I could lavishly place as many pieces of sea bream as I liked on my rice. In most regular properties, staff usually place about two pieces of sea bream carefully. Thank you very much for a comfortable stay.

    For a family of four

    I visited with my wife and two children (3rd grade and 1st grade). While the building has an older feel, we were overall very satisfied. The baths left our skin feeling smooth, and the cave bath likely became a memorable experience for the kids. There are plenty of baths available, so while the cave bath was popular, the indoor baths were relatively empty, which was not an issue. We chose the buffet for our meals since our children are young, and it was great with a wide variety of dishes, including options for kids. The building is quite spacious, so there is a lot of walking involved, but we didn’t mind as it was a unique experience for us. We would love to visit again.

    Every year

    This is my third time visiting Urashima. I stayed with No Meals Included. The Onsen is truly the best! However, it was disappointing that there was no "Urashima" lettering on the towels, and the souvenir paper bags were gone. I was looking forward to the paper bags, though. But I'll visit again next year.

    Since it was Saturda...

    Since it was Saturday, it was very crowded. The front desk was shared for the entire building, so there was quite a line. Even after checking in, we couldn't enter the room and just kept waiting. The Onsen was very nice, but the meals were not so great.

    Transportation after check-out is an issue.

    I stayed aiming for the famous cave onsen. You cannot reach the hotel by car. You need to switch to a minibus from the parking lot in front. It is a huge Showa-era onsen hotel, and although it seemed to be fully booked, the onsen, buffet, and checkout were all smooth. The problem arose after checkout. When I tried to return to the parking lot with the hotel's shuttle bus, there was a long line waiting for the bus. I waited for about 40 minutes. According to the explanation from the person waiting with me, there used to be a boat shuttle service, but the boat broke down, and now the shuttle is only by bus, which is why the wait is so long. There were also foreigners who were visibly upset because they couldn't catch their scheduled train. There was no explanation about this at check-in or checkout. According to the bus driver, the boat is difficult to repair, and for the time being, only bus shuttle service is available, so it wasn't just an issue on the day I stayed. If we had been properly informed, we could have left earlier, but we lost valuable travel time. This lack of information left a bad impression and is disappointing. Since there is a transfer to the bus and a lot of movement within the facility, I think it is better for elderly people or those with physical disabilities to check thoroughly in advance.

    Great satisfaction for a family of four

    I stayed with my family (wife, mother-in-law, and eldest son) at the Hotel Urashima Sanyo-kan's corner suite during our trip. Great view (both the room and Bokido), great Onsen, great meals (both dinner and breakfast). The whole family was very satisfied. Thank you very much.

    The quality of the hot spring is good.

    It's quite an old hotel, but I used it because the quality of the hot spring water is good. All the staff are doing their best. The dinner buffet is delicious, unlike the selection of major chains, so be sure to try it.
