    The Facility is outdated, the food is not good, and it’s not worth the price. I do not recommend it.

    Great view, but in-Room dining takes a bit long.

    We chose a recently renovated Room, and it was very clean with a wonderful view—excellent overall. It was a three-generation stay, and having two sinks in the Room made it very convenient. One small issue was that the in-room meal took quite a long time—about two hours. Our child got a bit fussy, so we hoped it could be served in a shorter time. Overall, it was a very good Accommodation and ideal for our first trip with a baby.

    Birthday Trip

    Because our birthdays are close, we looked for a nice Accommodation and stayed for two days. Even though we arrived well past the check-in time, we were welcomed warmly and truly appreciated the luxurious dinner, the nutritious breakfast, and the birthday flowers you prepared—it made us very happy.     A Comfortable Stay

    We were surprised by the limousine greeting us right away at Toba Station. We assumed it couldn’t be for us and looked for a minibus, but then someone got out of the limousine, called our names, and we finally realized it was our ride. 　　It was raining when we arrived at the Hotel as well, and they even came out to greet us with umbrellas. We were truly impressed again. 　　The Hotel was thoroughly cleaned and felt very fresh and spotless. There were many beautiful flower arrangements, and the Phalaenopsis orchids—also part of the Hotel’s name—were especially stunning. 　　Our Room was upgraded, and it was so spacious that it almost felt too big for just two of us. The air purifier had already been running in advance, so the Room felt wonderfully fresh and clean. 　　The bath area was also impeccably maintained. The water left our skin silky smooth like a true “beauty bath,” with amazing clarity, and even the tub itself felt perfectly clean without any slimy feeling at all. 　　Dinner was served in our Room for the first time in a while, with beautifully presented dishes and flavorful Japanese cuisine rich with dashi. We kept smiling as we told each other how delicious everything was—it made for such an enjoyable mealtime together.

    Well, I guess this is about it...

    I usually stay at a Hotel, so this was my first Japanese-style Hotel in a while. I wasn’t expecting much, so I have no complaints about dinner, but breakfast was underwhelming. There were plenty of items, but it was just an array of small side dishes—more like snacks to go with alcohol. It would have been nice to have something more substantial as a main dish, like their “Kochoran specialty: freshly made dashimaki omelet.”

    I’ll definitely be back!

    I visited Ise with my university friends to celebrate our graduation. We were grateful for the unexpected Room upgrade and even flowers to congratulate us on graduating. The upgraded Room was spacious with a great view, and the Ryokan was wonderful—just like a picture, close to the sea, with a relaxing atmosphere where time seemed to slow down. The meals used plenty of local ingredients, with a wide variety of dishes, and we were all happily full. Breakfast was also just like in the photo, with many small side dishes—so filling even in the morning. It was truly a lovely Accommodation. After we start working, I’d love to come back and enjoy a Multiple Night Stay at a relaxed pace. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    The view and service were excellent.

    The Accommodation is old, but the Room was clean and comfortable. If I had to be picky, the TV was small and the refrigerator was quite old. The Room with an open-air bath also had an indoor bath made of hinoki cypress. There were bamboo blinds for privacy, but it would have been better if they could be opened and closed. Many of the staff were from overseas, but their service was excellent and made my stay pleasant. The meals were not very good. Considering the price for a Room with an open-air bath, I would like to see improvements in the quality of the food itself rather than just detailed menu descriptions. In particular, breakfast did not suit my taste. It was nice that there were free drinks and discount hours at the shop. Since this Accommodation has a wide range of prices depending on the Room, it was disappointing to feel that the price difference might have been only whether or not an open-air bath was included. Because I made a last-minute Reservation, my options were limited—something to keep in mind next time. It was good that I could reach Ise Grand Shrine in about 20 minutes.

    The building has a charming atmosphere, and the view from the open-air bath was truly magnificent. When I visit Toba, I would definitely like to stay here again.

    A cozy accommodation with a stunning ocean view.

    We stayed for two nights in the Nami Orine room during our trip to visit Ise Jingu. As both my partner and I are smokers, we searched for a smoking-friendly accommodation. The Japanese-style room was spacious enough for two people, with a slightly retro yet clean and calming atmosphere. Sitting on the chair by the window, we enjoyed a breathtaking view of the ocean right in front of us. The staff's warm hospitality made this accommodation one we'd love to revisit. The meals were delightful, featuring unique combinations of ingredients and seasonings we had never experienced before. Everything was delicious!

    It was excellent.

    The location is amazing. Looking out from the large windows of the room, it felt as if I were floating on the sea. The view from the open-air bath was breathtakingly beautiful. The service was full of thoughtfulness, and during my Multiple Night Stay, they always checked in when it seemed like amenities might run low. For dinner and breakfast, we were served a variety of intricate dishes arranged like at a fine dining restaurant, and not once did we have the same meal over two days. I was able to create wonderful memories here. I would be delighted to visit again someday.

    It was excellent!

    This was our first time staying as our daughter turned one year old. The Hotel staff's service was truly exceptional, and they were very considerate towards our child, allowing us to relax! They spoke kindly to our child and checked if we needed anything. We've stayed at many hotels before, but this was a god-level experience! We will definitely stay again! Thank you so much!

    It became the best memory.

    We chose Toba Kotoran as our accommodation for our first trip to celebrate our one-year anniversary. The staff's hospitality from welcome to farewell was exceptional, and we were delighted with a complimentary room upgrade that made our stay very comfortable! The sunrise view from the room was breathtakingly beautiful. However, the dinner portions were a bit too much for me. Still, everything was delicious and truly enjoyable.

    Stunning views

    The renovated Room is very clean and highly satisfying. We enjoyed in-room dining with my elderly parents, and the sunrise view was spectacular. However, it was a bit disappointing that there was only one open-air bath, and my parents didn’t understand the meaning of "being watched by seabirds from here onward."

    Delicious meals. The staff are polite and friendly.

    We stayed at an accommodation with a Japanese-style room and in-room dining, offering a view of Toba Bay. Our Japanese-style room was upgraded, and even with three family members, we were able to relax comfortably. The in-room dinner met our expectations, featuring dishes skillfully prepared by the head chef. The attendant assigned to our room was from abroad but provided excellent service with fluent Japanese and impeccable manners comparable to those of native staff. The final dish of mixed rice was made into rice balls for us, which we enjoyed during our journey to Ise Shrine the next day. The facility is neither too large nor too small, maintaining the attentive service of a traditional ryokan. Highly recommended for adult travelers.

    The view upon arrival at the lobby and from the room was breathtaking! The ocean view was truly relaxing. And above all, the food! Everything was delicious, and while I thought the portions were modest, I ended up feeling completely full! The Onsen was wonderful, and the POLA shampoo and conditioner made my hair so shiny that I even considered buying them! The only downside was that there seemed to be some residue floating in the women’s bath at night and in the men’s bath in the morning. However, both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delightful!

    Perfect.

    Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with impeccable ingredients, taste, and presentation. The staff provided outstanding service, showing attentiveness and great teamwork. The room was spacious and clean, allowing for a comfortable sleep on the futon. The onsen had a great location and well-maintained facilities. This is an accommodation I would love to visit again.

    Excellent hospitality

    As we arrived by car, we did not use the limousine shuttle service, but the porter service at the car drop-off area, including parking assistance, was a first-time experience at a Ryokan and left us deeply impressed. After check-in, we were served matcha and traditional sweets in the lounge, which quickly eased our fatigue from traveling on a hot day. Although I felt apologetic as the staff waited for us during this time, their guidance to our room afterward was very courteous and allowed us to start our stay with peace of mind. The spacious room with an ocean view provided a relaxing atmosphere where we could even see fish and rays gathering in the shallow waters. Dinner was served in-room and featured an array of local ingredients; though each dish was small in portion size, it offered great satisfaction and left us feeling full. Breakfast included many dishes despite being light overall, all of which were delicious. The Onsen is classified as a simple spring type but had noticeable effects upon entering—leaving my skin smooth. Though compactly designed, it was impeccably clean and allowed for worry-free bathing. Additionally, limited-time perks such as 10% off at the souvenir shop within the facility or complimentary sweets at the lounge added to our enjoyment. Throughout our stay, we felt genuine hospitality everywhere and were able to completely unwind from work stress while enjoying leisurely moments. This wonderful accommodation is one I would love to revisit during another season!

    Anniversary Trip

    This was our first trip to Ise-Shima as a couple. My husband was drawn to the idea of in-room dining, so we chose Hotel Kochouran. After a long drive, we were looking forward to relaxing in the room's open-air bath and enjoying the meals. The hotel's exterior looked as expected, with a freshly repainted appearance. The staff who greeted us at the entrance were polite, but I found it unusual that they took our car keys and parked the car for us—a system you don't see often these days. Upon entering the hotel, there was a distinct scent that I personally didn't find pleasant—apologies for mentioning this. We enjoyed welcome drinks and sweets before heading to our room via an elevator that seemed very old; its loud closing sound startled me and made me question its safety. Our room attendant appeared to be from overseas but had a lovely smile and provided excellent service while explaining everything about the room. After settling in, we noticed that beer in the fridge cost over 500 yen for 350ml cans—quite surprising! The glasses also had a faint smell of disinfectant. Dinner included many dishes—almost too many—but there were some disappointments: the steamed spiny lobster was small; scallop sashimi resembled baby scallops and was also steamed; and the wagyu beef had an unpleasant odor. Additionally, most dishes were overly salty, making it hard to finish them all. However, they kindly turned leftover rice into onigiri (rice balls), which we appreciated. Regarding towels: only one face towel and one bath towel per person were provided in our room with no extra towels available at the public bath area—a bit inconvenient without baskets or bags for carrying them around. When visiting the public bath at night despite these inconveniences, I noticed used buckets/chairs left behind by previous guests as well as floating debris in the open-air bath—it lacked cleanliness overall compared to expectations. On a positive note though—the private open-air bath attached to our room felt wonderful! Breakfast was average but fine overall. Hotel Kochouran employs many international staff members who seem well-trained based on their excellent hospitality skills; however unfortunately both food quality & bathing facilities fell short of what we'd hoped for during this stay here

    70th Birthday Journey

    We used this place to celebrate my sister's 70th birthday with the three of us sisters. The Kaiseki cuisine was, of course, delicious, and the staff's smiles and excellent service made our time truly enjoyable. Thank you very much!

    It was an excellent Ryokan.

    We stayed with our 1-year and 2-month-old child. Based on reviews mentioning how kind and wonderful the staff were, we were excited to visit. Every staff member we met was incredibly attentive, making this an amazing trip. They were considerate, polite, and kind! They even spoke gently to our child, who usually doesn’t smile at strangers but laughed a lot during our stay. The room seemed newly renovated—very clean and stylish. It had a fresh feel, and our child loved crawling around happily. The bathroom in the room was spacious and clean enough for two adults and two children to bathe comfortably (we didn’t use the public bath this time). There was also a massage chair that helped us relax completely—very satisfying! Dinner included an impressive variety of dishes. We enjoyed grilled items cooked on a small stove three times during the meal, featuring both beef and pork alongside plenty of sashimi—a truly luxurious experience! Everything was delicious with generous portions; it was the perfect dinner! Breakfast also featured many small dishes that were all tasty. A baby chair was provided for us, which was very helpful! At check-in, we received matcha tea with traditional Japanese sweets. After dinner, separate from dessert served during dinner itself, we enjoyed complimentary cold zenzai (sweet red bean soup) and fruit punch at the café—a thoughtful service that delighted anyone with a sweet tooth! From the staff to services offered to rooms and meals—everything about this accommodation exceeded expectations. When visiting Ise-Toba again in the future, staying here will be an easy choice!

    If you are staying in Toba, this is a highly recommended Stays.

    This was my first time staying. I was very excited as soon as I entered, with the welcome and matcha service. The facility does feel a bit old, but it was very clean and well-maintained, making it very comfortable to stay. The meals were also very delicious. It seems that foreigners are also working there, but their Japanese was very good and they were doing their best. I would like to use it again when I come to Toba! I stayed at a good Stays.

    We traveled with our one-year-old child. The welcome drink of matcha was very delicious and appreciated after the tiring journey. The atmosphere at the entrance of the Room was lovely, and the Room was very spacious, fully equipped with toys, picture books, and baby supplies, which was very helpful. We are grateful for the thoughtfulness. The view from the Room was spectacular. We had our meal in the Room, and even though our child was running around and not settled, they responded kindly. The presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious, but it was quite a large portion for us as a couple, and we felt quite full towards the end. We enjoyed the open-air bath attached to the Room, and our child enjoyed the spacious indoor hinoki bath like a pool! The open-air bath in the large public bath was very pleasant! Since the open-air bath was open, there were towels provided, so we could enter with peace of mind. Since there was only one large public bath with an open-air bath, my husband went to the Onsen the next morning. Personally, there wasn't much I liked for breakfast. The staff's response was very good, and we had a comfortable stay.

    My family invited me for my 60th birthday. Upon arrival, there was a tea service, and flowers were beautifully arranged everywhere, showcasing wonderful hospitality. The meals were plentiful and delicious. The staff were friendly, attentive, and impeccable. I was able to relax and enjoy my stay.

    A Fun Family Trip to Ise

    For this trip, we chose to stay at Toba Kotoran, near Ise Jingu, because we could ride a limousine with our family of three. From Toba to the Hotel, we were delighted to be taken by limousine. The Room was spacious, relaxing, and comfortable. Also, the Room had a semi-open-air bubble bath, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely and pleasant bath. Additionally, my wife and child mentioned that the women's bath on the first floor had bathing suits, which was nice. The meals were generally warm, but we enjoyed them. [If one warm dish could be replaced with a cold one, I think it would allow for a more leisurely dining experience.] The room attendant was efficient and served the dishes promptly. Since I thought Toba was a fishing port, I would have been happier if there were a bit more sashimi.
