    A three-generation trip with mother and daughter

    My mother wanted to visit Amanohashidate, so we looked for an Accommodation and chose this one. The building was kept very clean, and we were able to relax while enjoying a lovely sea view from our Japanese-Western style Room. We appreciated having amenities and bottled water in the Room. In addition to yukata, there were also samue loungewear, which made it even more comfortable. The staff’s service was excellent, and we felt at ease asking for advice. Thank you very much. Regarding the meals, it was disappointing that there was no torigai (Japanese cockle), which I had hoped would be available in summer—perhaps because the season was already late. Everything else, including Kamo eggplant, nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), and Tajima beef, was delicious. We would love to visit again in a better season. As for the baths, the changing area was spacious, and it was great that bath towels were provided in the large public bath. As an Onsen lover, I would have liked to enjoy more true Onsen water. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, so we were grateful for the Shuttle Service to the station during the hot season. My mother and I made wonderful memories together.

    Thank you very much for having us during our stay. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed our meals comfortably on a floor with a wonderful view. In particular, the handwritten message and lovely illustrations at breakfast were very soothing, and we truly felt the staff’s kindness. Thank you. Thank you as well for the Shuttle Service the following day. If there is a regular shuttle to the station, we would appreciate being able to use it on our return trip as well.

    It was a comfortable accommodation.

    Both dinner and breakfast were lightly seasoned yet flavorful, with a rich dashi taste. The renovated Japanese-Western style room was also comfortable. The staff’s hospitality was excellent, making our stay very pleasant.

    A casual, laid-back accommodation

    A pleasantly ordinary Accommodation where you can relax without any pretense. On the other hand, it falls a bit short in creating that sense of excitement for a trip. Despite presenting itself as an Onsen Ryokan, the bath is somewhat small and lacks openness, feeling a little lonely. The food is also quite standard. Everything meets expectations, but there are no standout features. The staff’s hospitality is good.

    Ultimate Luxury

    After reading the Reviews, I chose this Accommodation and had a very satisfying stay. The open-air bath in the Room was very spacious, with a wonderful view, and I was able to relax and enjoy a leisurely time. The meals were also luxurious—I enjoyed an all-crab course as well as beautifully marbled Tajima beef. I was surprised to be able to have Tajima beef even at breakfast. I would also like to thank all the staff for their thoughtful attention during the meal service. One small point: in the dining area, I felt that having a bit more space between guests would make it even easier to enjoy the meal in a calmer atmosphere. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to stay at again next time. Thank you very much.

    The snowy scenery was beautiful.

    The heavy snowfall from the previous night allowed us to enjoy a beautiful snowy view of Amanohashidate from the Hotel. The food was just right in both taste and portion size. It was unfortunate that the bottom of the open-air bath felt gritty with sand. Although it was stated as about a 7-minute walk from the station, it took nearly twice as long due to carrying luggage on snowy roads, which would have been easier in good weather without luggage. It would have been nice if there were pick-up services upon arrival, not just drop-off in the morning. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

    Crab Only

    I visited Amanohashidate to enjoy the seasonal specialty, crab. The crab was served as sashimi, steamed, grilled, shabu-shabu, and tempura—enough to fully satisfy my cravings. The room was a traditional Japanese-style room. While I had anticipated this beforehand, it was still a bit uncomfortable for me due to my larger build and the futon setup. However, I can't say it was particularly good or bad overall. The bath facilities were disappointing. Although a new sauna has been installed recently, it requires an additional fee to use—why? While renovating the existing bath might be challenging, leaving outdated facilities as they are while charging extra for something new seems less than sincere. Many places strive to compensate for aging infrastructure by improving their services—especially in lesser-known Onsen areas. However, in well-known tourist destinations like Kinosaki or Amanohashidate where customers come regardless of effort, there are still many old hotels with an outdated "lordly" business attitude. Charging extra for the sauna reflects such an attitude clearly. If it's just about enjoying crab or baths alone without much effort put into improvement elsewhere—it’s disappointing that being located in Amanohashidate is all they rely on as their selling point.

    Crab Full Course - The Best!

    We stayed over the weekend and used two rooms for each family couple. Our room was a renovated Japanese-style room with beds, simple yet functional. It was quiet, with no noise from neighboring rooms, allowing us to relax comfortably. For dinner, we chose the full crab course, which was very luxurious and extremely satisfying—especially the grilled crab, which was absolutely delicious. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of dishes, and we couldn't resist having multiple servings of rice. Amanohashidate is about a 10-minute walk away.

    Solo Travel

    I enjoy solo travel, but I do sometimes feel self-conscious, so this detached accommodation was quiet and very comfortable. The kitchen-dining area on the first floor, the bedroom on the second floor, and even the open-air bath were all cozy. While there were some minor issues such as difficulty understanding how to use certain facilities and a sofa that seemed not fully cleaned after being used by other guests, overall I was extremely satisfied. Staying for just one night felt like not enough!

    About three years ag...

    About three years ago, I stayed with my mother and sister, and the open-air bath in the Room was amazing. I was looking forward to visiting again this time. However, as soon as I entered the Hotel, there was a strong smell like sewage or a toilet odor that was very noticeable. Hoping it was only in the lobby, I entered the Room, but it had the same smell inside. This odor wasn’t present during my previous stay... The smell was strongest in the toilet area, so it might be coming from there. It’s surprising that staff members don’t seem to notice it. If nothing can be done about it directly, perhaps using aromatherapy or incense throughout the Hotel could help improve this issue even a little bit.

    Kitano-ya Inn

    We visited for a family trip and chose a room with an open-air bath offering a view of Amanohashidate. Although the building itself didn’t feel very new, the room had been renovated and was extremely comfortable. We also used the public bath, but we loved the open-air bath in our room so much that we used it three times. We were really glad to have chosen a room with an open-air bath. The service from the staff was excellent as well. When we arrived at the accommodation on a rainy day, one of the staff noticed our wet shoes and kindly brought us a shoe dryer. In the morning, they also provided shuttle service to the station. The hospitality from both front desk and restaurant staff was great, making it a very satisfying stay at this accommodation.

    Perfect for a getaway from everyday life.

    I visited to enjoy Amanohashidate sightseeing, crab, and onsen. The property has been renovated and well-maintained, allowing for a relaxing stay in a clean environment. The meals and bath were basically very satisfying. It might have been unavoidable due to the snowy day, but it was a bit disappointing that the interior was slightly cold. Additionally, this is a personal preference, but considering the accommodation cost, I would have enjoyed it more if the room's tea was made with tea leaves instead of tea bags, and if the hot sake was properly warmed instead of microwaved. Overall, the evaluation is high, so I would definitely like to visit again when I go to Amanohashidate!

    I stayed in a Room w...

    I stayed in a Room with an open-air bath on the first floor. The Room felt a bit small, but the open-air bath was spacious, and the stone bath was comfortable. I also appreciated the small garden. The Room was clean and the amenities were good. The staff were all talkative when approached, and they were all locals who loved their hometown, making a strong effort to make guests like Amanohashidate and this Ryokan, which left a positive impression. There was also a woman from Myanmar, who seemed even more gentle and modest than the Japanese. I hadn't expected much from the online information I researched beforehand, as I couldn't find any notable souvenirs (food), but I was told about Heshiko and Chie no Mochi, which are well-known among locals, and I tried them immediately. I think I understood why they are loved locally. I think I was able to enjoy delicious meals using plenty of local ingredients. Overall, it is a Ryokan where you can stay while feeling a moderate sense of luxury. One disappointing aspect was the view of Amanohashidate from the window. Although Amanohashidate was indeed visible right in front, the view was obstructed by power lines, which was a bit concerning. However, I felt that it was okay because you can see a wonderful view if you take the cable car to Kasamatsu Park. The most favorable impression was left by the staff. Rather than the sophisticated service of a luxury Hotel in the city, this Ryokan offers sincere service from the good-natured locals.
