    Our family stayed here in July. While we understand that customer service standards have changed with the times, the buffet was disappointing—at a level that left our grandchild let down. We hope you will consider improvements.

    Excellent value for money considering the quality.

    I chose this Hotel because I switched to an EV and needed charging, but the large public bath and open-air bath were excellent. The meals were also better than expected. I visit Ikaho often, so I would like to stay here again in the future.

    The property is lovely, but the meals were disappointing.

    This was my first stay. The exterior and entrance looked old and made me a bit uneasy, but once inside, the lobby was gorgeous. The Room was stylish and clean. Dinner was a buffet, but unfortunately everything was disappointing. We chose the buffet because our child wanted to eat crab, but I regret not choosing the kaiseki meal instead. Breakfast was delicious. Given the low price, it may be unavoidable.

    I stayed here for a ...

    I stayed here for a friend’s birthday. The food was delicious, and the place was spacious and wonderful! Above all, the Onsen had a great variety, was clean, and helped me feel refreshed! However, it was a bit disappointing to find some hair in the Room and one of the lights wasn’t working. Other than that, I had a really great stay! Thank you very much! Next time I come back, I’d like to stay in a larger Room!

    Nothing can stand up to the passage of time.

    I stay at this Accommodation every year when I visit the grave. I posted my comments because I had some concerns, but nothing seems to have changed. It’s disappointing.

    The bath was great.

    I was very satisfied with the hot spring water. I was especially impressed by the powerful rock bath. Was there no switching between men and women for the 3rd-floor bath? The women’s open-air bath felt a bit small, and I noticed a difference compared to the men’s. I was happy with the meals, especially the Japanese-style breakfast. The air conditioner cover in my Room kept opening even after I closed it. It didn’t seem to affect operation, but I’m reporting it just in case it might be considered damage.

    After many years, I visited this accommodation again, having been there multiple times in my youth with my aunts. Entering the lobby with memories of the past, I was surprised by how luxurious it had become. The lobby featured a giant screen showing an educational video, a museum-like high-end library, foot baths, souvenir shops, and more. The effort to improve was evident throughout the hotel. This time we stayed in a Premium Room to celebrate my husband's birthday and chose the carefully curated Kaiseki dinner at Yunohana-tei. Yunohana-tei felt like dining at a high-class ryokan restaurant. Unlike some luxury ryokans that use cheaper ingredients disguised as gourmet dishes through technique, this dinner used plenty of premium ingredients and exuded true luxury. Even typically dry king crab was prepared deliciously. The thoughtful gestures for my husband's birthday made us genuinely happy. The large public bath has always been well-regarded but now features even more types of baths and has become even more impressive. Breakfast is likely served buffet-style for all rooms, which might explain why it is categorized as casual accommodation. However, raising breakfast standards along with room rates to transform into an entirely high-end hotel might take away Tenbo's approachable charm. Seeing young couples with small children enjoying themselves or hearing lively groups added to the cheerful atmosphere—this diversity among guests seems to be one of Tenbo's unique qualities. Relaxing in the lobby lounge with complimentary drinks made for a pleasant time. In the past, my aunts always recommended Tenbo when visiting Ikaho Onsen; back then I simply followed along without much thought. Now I understand why they were so enthusiastic about it—it’s an accommodation where you can choose your experience: simple rooms and buffets for casual stays or premium rooms and fine dining for luxury experiences—all designed to satisfy everyone in their own way after decades apart from this place!

    Please check the cleaning.

    We used the accommodation for golf on the day of our stay and the following day. Dust had accumulated in the corners of the room, around the TV stand, and near the refrigerator. Dust was also piled up in the corners of the toilet and sink area. The lack of cleanliness made it difficult to relax in the room. It would be better if cleaning checks were conducted more thoroughly. This was my first time staying in a room with so much dust. While public areas were clean and did not raise concerns, guest rooms should also be managed properly. The amount of dust seemed to have built up over several days without proper cleaning. I even cleaned parts of the sink myself because it bothered me; thick layers of dust had accumulated like sediment in certain areas. Additionally, "Kogane no Yu" was clear instead of its usual color expected from other Onsen Ryokan experiences in Ikaho, which was disappointing as we anticipated brown-colored water typical for this region's Onsen baths. Other guests present also commented that it seemed unusual for it to be transparent. On a positive note, shuttle service from parking to accommodation arrived promptly, and warm hospitality was provided throughout our stay—this aspect was excellent!

    Enjoyed Ikaho.

    Check-in before 3 PM was met with a warm welcome. I immediately enjoyed the rock bath. Both the open-air and indoor baths were not crowded, allowing for a relaxing experience. Dinner featured a buffet with warm steak, grilled ayu fish, crab, and a variety of other dishes. There was plenty of time to enjoy it at leisure. Afterward, I indulged in another bath different from the earlier one. The next morning, I also enjoyed the Onsen both before and after breakfast. One minor point of concern was the crowd during breakfast and the limited selection of amenities. For example, as a male guest, I would have appreciated hair tonic after bathing; however, overall it was an enjoyable stay!

    Positive Points: - Stayed in a Premium Room, which was renovated and very clean. The room had a Yogibo, allowing for a relaxing stay. - The large public bath was spacious with various options. The rock bath had a great atmosphere and was very enjoyable. - Drinks at the lounge's drink bar were unlimited. Negative Points: - Upon entering the room and opening the curtains, there was a large stink bug. Is there no prior inspection? - The shower space in the room seemed rarely used, as it was not well-cleaned and very dusty. - Despite being a decent room, the quality of toilet paper was extremely poor, which was disappointing. - In the private bath and shower space, there was an unpleasant moldy smell, and oil floating on the water made it uncomfortable. Additionally, the hairdryer seemed to be decades old and quite surprising to use. - The buffet quality is significantly lower compared to other Hotels. Although located on the top floor, most seats did not offer views of night scenery. While crab is all-you-can-eat, it lacked flavor likely due to being defrosted; abalone pieces were small with poor seasoning that didn’t encourage having another serving either. Other dishes occasionally tasted good but overall fell short of expectations for a Hotel emphasizing its buffet experience—leading to potential disappointment if expectations are high regarding food quality here!

    The explanation seems insufficient. Regular bath inspections are necessary.

    It would be better to enhance the facility information. Providing details via paper or QR code, such as "bath towels are provided, so no need to bring your own" or "take used towels from the Room for washing," would be helpful. For women, hair ties and combs were not replenished and remained unavailable. I think it’s better not to have baskets in the bath area; having them halfway could lead to complaints. Regular checks of the bath area are recommended.

    This was my first stay. The Room and the private bath were excellent, and I had a wonderful 1-night, 2-day stay. The dinner buffet and breakfast buffet were filled with delicious options, though I would have appreciated a bit more variety for breakfast. It would have been nice if there was a rotation system for the large public bath. I noticed some dirt on the cup in the Room's washroom, which was slightly concerning. Other than that, everything was satisfactory. Thank you very much!

    Had a relaxing stay.

    The Room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very kind. It was a bit disappointing that there was an odor around the sink area, noticeable as soon as entering the Room. I stayed for two nights, and it would have been nice if the buffet menu had some variation. However, all the dishes were delicious.

    I feel that effort is necessary.

    I recently made a reservation through IKYU.com. However, the experience did not match the price. The quality was far below expectations for this cost. The explanation at reception was insufficient. The coffee was not good. The quality of the toothbrush in the room was poor, and there were multiple stains resembling red liquid on the room's table, which made me uncomfortable. The public bath entrance required climbing stairs again if you forgot your valuables in the box, which was inconvenient. Bath towels should be placed in the room; there were none when using the bathroom in my room. The buffet had a limited selection with mostly cheap items and small portions. Pineapple served was from a can. Most disappointing of all, I expected golden hot spring water as is famous in Ikaho but found transparent water instead—it seemed diluted and fell far short of expectations. Overall, I felt no sense of hospitality at this accommodation; it gave off an impression of cost-cutting measures everywhere. Even at the dining venue, staff only performed their tasks without any greetings or warmth. After checkout, although I saw what appeared to be a manager or hostess present, there wasn’t even a simple "thank you." This left me with an impression that reflected poorly on their entire operation. This has been my most disappointing experience ever through IKYU.com and certainly not worth such a high price!

    During the hot days, I wished for a cold water pitcher with ice in the Room. Most Hotels we use usually provide cold water pitchers with ice.

    I plan to visit again.

    Thoughtful consideration for guests was felt everywhere. The large public bath and the cypress bath in the room were both excellent. The buffet-style meals were of very high quality, and I am very satisfied.

    We recently stayed in a renovated room with an open-air bath for four people. Unfortunately, one of us fell ill and couldn't enjoy the luxurious full-course Japanese meal. We deeply appreciate the care and concern shown by the staff and head chef. Thankfully, their condition improved the next day, allowing us to enjoy our stay fully. It turned out to be a truly satisfying trip! Thank you very much. However, there was one concern—the low height of the small wall near the window on the right side of the room caused all of us to bump our heads. Was it designed with a snow-viewing window concept in mind? It left us wondering... Please find attached photos for your reference.

    All-you-can-eat abalone, crab, and sukiyaki

    We chose this hotel for a family trip based on good reviews and made a reservation. The Japanese-Western style room was very clean and comfortable. The bath was also very relaxing. The buffet had just the right amount of variety and was delicious. As for breakfast, the bean rice? It had a unique flavor I’ve never tasted before, and it was so delicious that I ended up having two extra servings! This is definitely one of the onsen accommodations we’d love to visit again.

    The Onsen open-air bath in the room was worth the price, but the meals did not feel like they were worth over 30,000 yen per person. For dinner, while the grilled Joshu beef (three slices) and trout sashimi felt characteristic of Ikaho, dishes like mountain vegetable tempura were tasty but lacked a sense of luxury. Breakfast was particularly disappointing as it hardly featured any local specialties. Including items like konjac or Mizusawa udon would have been appreciated. Additionally, having options like fries for children would be helpful. The large public bath offered a variety of baths and was enjoyable. The room's Onsen was satisfying; however, it would be better if there were an option to adjust the temperature with cold water since it was slightly hot. Also, it would be nice if the shower allowed for water flow adjustment. For free drinks in the lobby area, providing paper cups so guests can take them back to their rooms would be convenient.

    The bath is excellent, with a temperature that is neither too hot nor too cold, and two types of spring quality. The meals are typical Onsen kaiseki; nothing particularly noteworthy, but offering only miso as a seasoning for the beef might not be ideal (it would be nice to have options like salt or wasabi soy sauce). The Room lacks even hand towels, providing only an Onsen towel. There are no bottled drinks; instead, water is provided in a thermos. The Room has dust in various places, which dampens the mood.

    Family Trip

    We stayed for one night from Saturday. It was a very large and clean hotel. We arrived after 4 PM and were initially told that only later dining times were available, but when we requested, the staff quickly adjusted and changed it to an earlier time for us. This was a great help as we had a 6-year-old child with us. The baths were numerous, so they weren’t crowded, allowing us to relax and use them multiple times at our leisure. The meals were delicious, the facility was clean, and we were very satisfied with our stay. Thank you very much!

    It was a disappointing first trip to Gunma.

    First Family Trip to Gunma We paid over 100,000 yen for one night, but the service was poor, hygiene was not maintained, and it was an unpleasant experience. Even after informing the front desk, no improvements were made; only excuses were given. The refrigerator was dirty, the room smelled bad, and there were clumps of hair in the bathroom. We had been looking forward to the chef's recommended kaiseki meal, but everything was overly salty and some dishes even had a bleach-like smell. We barely ate anything and ended up eating cup noodles from the shop as a family of three with tears in our eyes. Due to my husband's work schedule, we rarely get time together as a family. This trip that we finally managed to take turned into a memory filled with anger and sadness. I trusted IKYU.com for reservations thinking it would be reliable but ended up at an accommodation of the lowest standard for the first time ever. This is my first review because I don't want other families like ours who pay over 100,000 yen per night to go home hungry and disappointed! I hope this information reaches many people!

    The Onsen was amazing—it had been a while.

    It had been a while since my son and I had the same day off, so we decided on a last-minute Onsen trip. We relaxed in the Onsen and enjoyed the buffet-style meals. I also had an in-room massage, which helped me unwind from everyday busyness, and seeing the autumn leaves was very soothing. Since we chose a room with a hinoki bath, I was able to enjoy a leisurely soak from the morning and feel refreshed.\n\nHowever, there weren’t enough hangers. I called via the in-room phone to request more, but they never arrived. The staff seemed busy, so I wondered if it would have been better for me to go pick them up myself.\n\nBath towels were available at the large public bath, and that thoughtful touch was much appreciated.

    Relax and enjoy the Onsen.

    It's been a while since visiting Ikaho Onsen. The room, the view, and the bath were all excellent. There was a shower in the room, but there were no towels, so I had to go to the large public bath to get them. Having socks would have been helpful. Many of the dishes were cold, which was a bit disappointing. However, I was able to enjoy the bath very leisurely, which was great. Thank you very much.
