Above all, it’s the dining experience.

Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding—the best meals we’ve had at any place we’ve stayed. The mini concert was also wonderful, and our granddaughter was able to take part. The toilet and washbasin area felt a little inconvenient to use, but the air conditioning worked well and we were able to stay comfortably.

    As expected—Juraku.

It was perfect for our family to rest after climbing Mt. Tanigawa. This Ryokan offered countless thoughtful touches in every detail.

Your First Stay on the Water

This was our first stay. We came with our children, their spouses, and our grandchild. We were very satisfied with the spacious Room. There were several Onsen baths, and our grandchild enjoyed them too. Since it’s all-inclusive, we could drink plenty, which I was very happy about. The meals are buffet-style, but there was a good variety and everything was delicious. However, the floor chairs in the Room made my hips hurt when sitting, and the parking lot felt a bit eerie.

    A welcoming Hotel

I’ve stayed at several all-inclusive hotels, but they often felt more like “help yourself,” and I assumed that was just how it is when you can eat and drink freely. However, at this Hotel, I truly felt a genuine spirit of hospitality from every staff member—like “please enjoy” and “we’d love you to make the most of your stay”—and I was deeply impressed. The quality of the complimentary food and drinks was the best I’ve ever had. When I called to ask about how to make a Reservation for the public tennis courts, they also assisted me very politely and thoroughly. Of course, the Room was clean, and we were very satisfied with both the quality of the dinner and breakfast buffet as well as the service. We take family trips several times a year, and this is a Hotel that everyone in our family said, “Let’s come back again.” We will definitely stay here again.

    As expected from Juraku.

As expected from Juraku, the buffet was exceptionally delicious. With the all-inclusive service, you can switch locations depending on the time and enjoy unlimited snacks, soft drinks, and alcohol. However, while it may be perfect for those who drink alcohol, there isn’t much benefit for those who don’t. I wanted to relax, but there were many preschool children even on weekdays, and their crying ruined the atmosphere. If this is how it is on weekdays, I think weekends would be even more crowded with families and noisier. It can’t really be helped, but it might be a place that could be a bit cheaper. It is basically self-service. When I mentioned in advance that we were celebrating an anniversary, there were two towel swans? arranged as a decoration in the Room. That was a nice touch.

    Because Kusatsu is a...

Because Kusatsu is a long trip from Tokyo, we decided to stay one night on the way and made a Reservation here—my wife’s favorite place. We usually choose the Plan with check-in around 1:00 p.m., but we never quite make it by 1:00 (laugh). Our goal is to enjoy the large public bath when no one else is there. This time, even though we got a late start, it was never crowded whenever we went, so we were able to fully enjoy the Onsen. The meals were delicious, but my wife’s favorite Napolitan at dinner wasn’t available this time—something to look forward to next visit. In the evening, we listened to live music and slept well. The Mizunone Room is very convenient, and they provide coffee beans for grinding; as always, I have a cup before checkout. We enjoyed our stay again this time. We’ll be back. Thank you for your hospitality.

    The meals are delicious.

I stayed here with my elderly parents. For the price, the buffet was excellent. There were many international staff members, but overall the service was good regardless of whether they were Japanese or not. What surprised me was the loud train noise from the Room. Our riverside Room faced a railway bridge right in front of us, and freight trains seemed to run until late at night, so if you are sensitive to noise you may want to bring earplugs. Still, at this price for an all-inclusive stay these days, I think they are making a real effort. It’s not luxurious, but it’s an Accommodation with great value for money!

    We had a relaxing stay.

We visited for the meals and the Onsen. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The French toast at breakfast was especially outstanding! The Cold Stone ice cream was also very tasty. Since we went on a weekday, there were many older guests, and the Hotel was very quiet. The Hotel staff were kind, and we had a very comfortable stay. They also had board games, so we’d like to come again with our family. Thank you very much.

A dream 50 years in the making has finally come true!

As a child, I was only allowed to stay at the public Accommodation in Minakami Onsen (it has since closed). Every time I saw the “Juraku yo~n” TV commercial, I felt so envious and promised myself that one day I would definitely stay there. This time, I happened to have some free time and finally made my long-held dream come true. The Room and the meals exceeded my expectations—I was truly delighted! I understand this year marks your 70th anniversary. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for continuing to operate through difficult times such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Next time, I’ll visit with my husband. And to myself from 50 years ago: I finally got to stay at Juraku (lol).

    It’s been a while…

After having an unpleasant experience in January at an affiliated Hotel in Ito, I honestly wasn’t sure whether to cancel, but I’m glad I went. When I smelled the scent of firewood burning in the large fireplace, I felt relieved. I’ve only stayed in the Mizunone Room, but the skincare products by the sink have been changed from Mikimoto to “OSAJI,” a brand from Gunma Prefecture. Also, items such as toothbrushes are no longer provided in the Room; instead, you now pick up what you need from the amenity buffet. I’m not very knowledgeable about skincare and didn’t know OSAJI. When I tried it, I thought the fragrance was a bit strong, but my face looked surprisingly good the next morning—so I made sure to remember the name. The buffet is delicious both at breakfast and dinner (though some of the selected menu items feel a little overworked). Above all, what makes this Hotel special is how pleasant the staff are. Their service is 100 out of 100. You can walk to the parking lot, but I like chatting with the Shuttle Service driver too much and end up taking a ride anyway. Now here I am flipping through my calendar wondering when to come next.

This was my first stay, and it was an excellent Accommodation with nothing to complain about. Everything was spotless. The meals and the Onsen were truly wonderful. The staff’s thoughtful, unobtrusive service was very pleasant. The only disappointment was that the in-Room safe didn’t work. It’s an Accommodation I would like to stay at again and again.

    The Best One-Night Stay

We stayed here to celebrate my parents’ wedding anniversary. The Room was clean and well maintained. The staff’s thoughtful attention to detail and friendly greetings were also very pleasant. And the food—everything was outstanding, from the generous portions to the freshness. I think it compares favorably even with Hotels in the city center. However, the Onsen may leave some Onsen lovers a bit disappointed, as you can’t really enjoy views or the sky from the open-air bath, and the water felt lukewarm.

We would love to stay again.

Seeing that I was having trouble in the lobby, you rushed over to help, and I was truly touched. At first, I thought, “Wait, do I have to go pick up the amenities myself?” but I was pleasantly surprised—there were even toothbrushes you could choose by firmness, and a wide variety of yukata patterns. The Juraku Library had plenty of Gunma-related books—from photo collections and guidebooks to the manga *You Still Don’t Know Gunma*—so it was fun to browse and gather information. The rooftop garden was also fully equipped with coats, boots, and umbrellas—everything you could possibly need. The buffet we came for exceeded expectations in both variety and quality. The famous roast beef, special salmon, Hungarian goulash, Czech kulajda soup, and even oden with Shimonita leeks—everything was outstanding! With so many repeat guests, I imagine developing new dishes to keep regulars satisfied must be challenging, but I was amazed by both the selection and the deliciousness. There were also lots of board games to enjoy in the Room. Our Room had a view of Mt. Tanigawa; being able to gaze at the snowy mountains as long as we liked while sipping freshly ground coffee was an irreplaceable moment. Above all else, everyone at the Hotel provided wonderful service with great attention to detail. We would love to visit again.

    I was able to relax.

From the moment we arrived at the Accommodation, we could enjoy alcohol and other drinks in the lounge and dining area, which really lifted our spirits. It was casual yet clean, functional, and very comfortable. There were plenty of places to relax besides the Room—such as the lounge, around the fireplace, and a playroom—which was wonderful. While I was quietly watching the fireplace, a violin performance began as well, making it a truly relaxing time. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious—better than expected. The tableware was thin white porcelain that felt very clean, and they cleared empty plates promptly. It felt great. All of the staff were efficient and friendly with warm smiles, which left a great impression. I think it’s a very good Hotel for families to enjoy together. Above all, it offers great value for money and has fairly convenient access, so it’s an easy place to visit casually. I was also happy that the in-room toiletries were OSAJI, which I like.

I chose this Hotel as a gift trip for my mother. We were able to enjoy the all-inclusive service even before check-in, and the selection of drinks and light snacks—champagne, sake, dark beer, and more—was so extensive that I couldn’t help but get excited. While taking in the snowy mountains and the winter scenery along the Tone River, I especially enjoyed the dark beer. The light snacks were also high quality and delicious. The Room was compact yet very comfortable, with soft colors and a stylish design. I was also happy to find a coffee mill and beans provided, so we could brew freshly ground coffee in the Room. We could see the Tone River from the Room as well, which made for a wonderfully relaxing time. The large public bath featured free-flowing hot spring water straight from the source; in particular, the open-air bath at Tengu-no-Yu and the hinoki cypress tub felt amazing. As it’s known as a “beauty bath,” my skin felt firmer afterward—soft, smooth, and supple. Both dinner and breakfast were served with freshly prepared dishes from a live kitchen. There was such a wide variety that I found myself wondering how many main dishes there were—the quality was truly impressive. Above all, every staff member was incredibly kind, making our stay comfortable from start to finish. My mother was very satisfied and said she’d like to come again—I’m truly glad I chose this Hotel. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

Thank you for taking care of us on our one-night trip. Our child was excited to see the snowy scenery, which we don’t usually get to see. We arrived before check-in, but it was great to relax in two lounges and take our time. All the Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes were delicious, and there was a wide selection of drinks, so we were very satisfied. There was also a concert at night, and we truly enjoyed our Hotel stay!

    For sauna enthusiasts

The sauna at night was a bit small, which was disappointing. It would be great to have a cold bath and a relaxation space. A size similar to the morning sauna would be ideal. The temperature was slightly low, which was a bit unfortunate.

    Good Points

Good Points The variety of free drinks was excellent. There were many recreational facilities, including Othello rentals, which we enjoyed as a family. The meals were incredibly delicious and worth staying for just that alone. Being able to choose shampoo and conditioner was a fun touch. Bad Points Since it was during the busy season, the Wi-Fi connection inside the facility was poor, which disappointed the children. There were not enough towels in the room; having additional towels available for use at the sink would have been better.

    This is my second st...

This is my second stay this year. My first solo stay was excellent, so this time I visited as a birthday gift for my daughter. Personally, considering the price, I think this hotel offers great satisfaction. The all-inclusive service allows me to enjoy my favorite beer right after check-in and relax by the fireplace. While many accommodations now offer easy access to coffee, having beans, a grinder, and filters in the room to make coffee at your preferred strength and timing is exceptional. Meals are mostly prepared in live kitchens, offering freshly made dishes both in the morning and evening—a true luxury. With a wide variety of options and spacious dining areas, there’s no need to wait or feel crowded, making it stress-free. For my daughter's birthday celebration this time, we received a beautiful dessert plate and a snow globe as gifts. Additionally, many attentive staff members provide warm smiles and courteous service that reflect their excellent training. This accommodation can be enjoyed whether you're traveling alone or with a group!

We had a wonderful trip as a group of four women.

From December 1st, a shuttle service from Kamikohara Station began test operations. We were fortunate to use it and truly appreciated it. The four of us were able to stay together and enjoyed chatting late into the night. Both the Onsen and the room were satisfying. Dinner offered a variety of options, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff was kind and attentive, making our stay pleasant. While the facility feels slightly dated, the warm hospitality was heartwarming. We would love to stay again if given the opportunity.

It's my first visit in a year.

I have used this accommodation several times in the past. The meals were made with fresh ingredients and everything was delicious. Although I felt the variety was slightly limited, having free alcohol was a great help, and overall it was satisfying for the price of the stay. We have made a reservation for New Year's with our family; are there any events like mochi pounding that children can enjoy?

    Captured by the delicious flavors.

Although I don't drink alcohol, this was my first all-inclusive experience. When I called the accommodation before my stay, they kindly informed me, "You can enjoy tea in the lounge from 1 PM without waiting for the 3 PM check-in." Upon arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome and smooth check-in process. The facility had been beautifully renovated with a luxurious aroma filling the air. The room was of a new type, free from mold or stains. The bathroom faucet gleamed like a mirror and everything felt clean and quiet, allowing for complete relaxation. The large public bath operates on a gender-swapping schedule. The changing area is always kept clean by attentive staff who handle cleaning and restocking regularly. My personal recommendation is "Tengu no Yu." For meals, we chose buffets for both breakfast and dinner. The dining area was spacious with a stylish café-like atmosphere. Thanks to controlled entry times, it never felt crowded or chaotic; we could dine peacefully. While there weren't many dishes offered, each one had a handmade feel with uncompromising taste quality. Even my picky daughter exclaimed how delicious everything was! Again here too, all staff were kind and attentive. I had been looking forward to the mini-concert held at night but unfortunately dozed off in my room (oops). Overall impression: While there were some signs of age here and there within the facility itself remained impeccably maintained cleanliness-wise throughout our stay—what stood out most prominently being their exceptional food quality alongside outstanding hospitality service levels which exceeded expectations leaving us wanting more return visits! Disappointments: - Parking lot located far away - Water-saving faucets in public baths that stop unless pressed continuously - No face towels or bath towels provided in public baths - Early closing time for large public baths - Early checkout time - Discontinuation of Juraku bread sales

    Highly Satisfying!!

I stayed at this accommodation for my birthday, which I had been curious about for a long time. It was a wonderful accommodation. The meals, onsen, and service were all excellent. As someone who enjoys drinking, I appreciated the service of being able to drink even before checking into the room. The live kitchen was great—not buffet style but with staff serving each dish individually, keeping the plates neat and visually appealing. The sushi was freshly made upon order and tasted amazing. For breakfast, they made rice balls right in front of me; even though I was full, I ended up eating a second one! The only slight disappointment was that the highball wasn’t to my taste. Also, I didn’t realize there were three baths available and ended up using the indoor bath without an open-air option twice—that’s on me! However, with the gender-swapped morning bath schedule, I got to enjoy an open-air bath in the morning which felt fantastic. After dinner, we played mini billiards and table tennis at the game area; we also rented Othello and tried playing cards but ran out of rental time by 9 PM. We had so much fun! All staff members—from those at reception to those driving shuttle buses from the parking lot—were wonderful people who made our stay pleasant. We left feeling great. This has become a hotel I'd love to revisit!

    I had a relaxing time.

We stayed here for a family trip with my mother who has dementia. The Room felt a bit old but was clean and comfortable. The meals were enjoyable with a wide variety of options. The cold ice cream, mixed with your favorite toppings, was very satisfying. All the staff were warm and welcoming. The mantelpiece created a lovely atmosphere, allowing us to relax leisurely. The fluffy bread is highly recommended!

The Facility is a bit old, but the staff's hospitality and meals were excellent.

We stayed at this accommodation during the middle of our holiday trip, and it was the most highly rated by our family. The facility felt a bit old-fashioned, but that's typical for a ryokan. The bath was particularly enjoyed by my family members, with its spaciousness and extended hours ensuring it never felt crowded. In the lobby, we appreciated the lounge service with a fireplace and live music, which added to the experience. It would have been even better if there were more refreshments available. The meals were extremely satisfying. The menu was thoughtfully crafted with local ingredients and tasted absolutely delicious. Some staff members were from overseas but greeted us politely in Japanese and provided excellent hospitality, which we truly appreciated. We would love to visit again!

    I had a great time.

I have stayed at several all-inclusive Hotels, but Minakami Hotel Juraku was excellent. The check-in and lounge were not crowded, and there was no need to line up before entering the restaurant for dinner, making it very relaxing. The Room's washroom and bath had a retro feel but were clean and perfectly fine. The buffet for dinner and breakfast was delicious, with a variety of alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic drinks, and soft drinks to enjoy. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

    Cold Bath

It was amazing. The kids were very satisfied and said they want to visit again. The only downside was that there is a sauna but no cold bath... If there were a cold bath, both the kids and adults would have been completely satisfied. The meals and service were excellent; we stay at various hotels throughout the year, but this one stood out. If there were a cold bath, we would want to visit again soon and even consider a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you for your hospitality.

This was our third stay in the past year. Our children are starting to make "Juraku" the main purpose of our trips, and we are very satisfied. This time, the room was an older type, so we gave slightly fewer stars, but it was thoroughly cleaned. The locking mechanism for the door is a bit confusing; I think more people nowadays may not be familiar with push-button locks. The meals were satisfying with a variety of options, including live kitchen stations. However, the staff member in charge of French toast seemed a bit unfriendly; we hope this can be improved in the future. The Onsen is especially spacious and nice on the basement level. However, it’s difficult to turn some locker keyholes smoothly—perhaps applying lubricant could help address this issue.

I hurriedly made a reservation for the summer vacation without checking the accommodation plan. However, it turned out to be a great choice! After check-in, we enjoyed self-service soft drinks, draft beer, and light snacks. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with unlimited alcoholic beverages, allowing us to eat as much as we liked. Our children and we had a very enjoyable and fulfilling time. We would love to visit again!
