    The food was delicious!

    This was our first time using this place for a family trip with my elderly mother, my working daughter, and myself. The room was a clean and tidy Japanese-style room. The meals were buffet-style, and the fish was delicious, which made my mother very happy. We enjoyed freshly fried tempura from the live kitchen and roasted Shimane Wagyu beef that was so good we ended up eating too much! While kaiseki is nice, buffets are great because you can try a little bit of everything. After enjoying the Onsen, we went to the bar next door to toast with beer. The bartender kindly taught us how to play billiards, making our trip even more enjoyable. If we travel to that area again, we would love to stay here once more.

    For solo travelers...

    I revisited Tamatsukuri Onsen, where I once traveled with my family, this time as a solo trip. Initially, I had planned to stay at a different accommodation, but I received a recommendation email from IKYU suggesting this accommodation. With the same class rating and a Review score of 4.2, along with slightly better pricing, I decided to stay here. While the place has an old charm, cleanliness is essential in any accommodation. The bath towels were overly worn out, and the yukata and bedding had noticeable body odor. Feeling uncomfortable during my stay, I left early the next morning. The overall impression was far from hospitable and not suitable for solo travelers. Although it was my responsibility for changing accommodations due to the attractive pricing offer, it turned out to be an unfortunately disappointing trip.

    The dinner buffet of...

    The dinner buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, ranging from seafood to meat, making it hard to choose. The room was clean and comfortable; however, it was disappointing that the gap under the door allowed odors from the bathroom to seep in at night. Perhaps sleeping with my head towards the TV side would have been better. Located in the heart of Tamatsukuri Onsen, an early morning stroll along the riverside was also very pleasant.

    I feel refreshed!

    The staff, including the person who guided us to the parking lot upon arrival at the Ryokan, were very courteous. All the dishes were delicious, and I ended up eating too much. The quality of the Onsen was exceptional and truly impressive! I would love to stay here again.

    The ladies' room was excellent.

    The ladies' room was charming, and the variety of tea in the room made me feel welcomed. The Hime Labo cosmetics were excellent, and I even visited a nearby shop the next morning. The footbath right in front was enjoyable. It was my first time at Tamatsukuri Onsen, and I was amazed at how smooth my skin felt. Dinner, including roast beef and cake, was delicious, though there was a slight wait time. The shuttle service to the station was very helpful. Thank you!

    The meals were disappointing.

    The facility is old but well-maintained. The staff was polite, and I was mostly satisfied, but the meals were... I felt that having all meals in a buffet style might not suit everyone. For those who prefer a more relaxed dining experience, it would be nice to have options like kaiseki. As for the buffet content, it was just okay. Disappointing points: - Insufficient sand removal from clams; there was quite a bit of sand. - The rice cooking method; the rice was too soft and mushy. - "Pastry chef-made desserts"? They were all store-bought frozen cakes. - Shuttle service to the station had only four time slots, leading to long waits for trains at the station. - Bath amenities were lacking; there was no cleansing product available.

    Second Stay at the Accommodation!

    The first visit was during my motorcycle trip around Japan, and the second was with my wife! We followed the same route I took on my bike—Hinomisaki, Izumo Taisha, Matsue Castle—and ended up at Matsunoyu. First, we relaxed our tired bodies in the Onsen and then enjoyed a buffet dinner starting at 5:30 PM. Everything we tried was delicious! I had high expectations for the shijimi clams after seeing them featured as being incredibly large on a TV show. However, when I mentioned this to the chef, he explained that sizes can vary quite a bit—I found that reasonable (haha)! The breakfast buffet was also delicious; we ate to our hearts' content before heading home. We’d love to visit again if we get another chance!

    Highly satisfied!

    Solo traveler. The shuttle service between the station and the Ryokan was very helpful! Both dinner and breakfast were excellent in terms of quantity and quality. For the morning seafood bowl, sushi vinegar was provided, but I wasn’t sure how to mix it. Perhaps a small spatula could be useful. The Onsen had a perfect temperature and great water quality, making me want to bathe multiple times. At check-in, the timing for the welcome drink and check-in procedure didn’t quite align. However, all staff members were warm and provided excellent hospitality! I would love to stay again! Thank you!!

    Both the dinner and breakfast buffets were excellent. In terms of price range, I think it's top class in Japan!

    Safe Stays

    This was my first time using the property. - We were traveling with a baby, and it was helpful that we could borrow a bouncer during meals. Also, when we needed ice to cool the milk, it was promptly delivered to our room. We appreciated this. - The dessert at dinner was delicious. The rest was average. One thing that bothered me was that the staff who guided us explained the buffet too quickly, and I couldn't understand what was being said at all. I understand they were busy with many things, but it would have been better if they could have been a bit more polite. - The bath was as good as they say, with beautifying water. Overall, it felt like a safe choice for a stay.

    The staff are all friendly.

    The smiles and kindness of the staff, the shop, the Onsen entrance, and people who seemed to be of foreign nationality made me feel very warm. The corridors inside the building were cold. It was a bit disappointing that the dinner at Tamatsukuri Onsen Ryokan was a buffet.

    In addition to the fact that the baths switch between men and women (morning and evening), there is only a sauna on one side, and it can only be used after 11 o'clock, so I was ultimately unable to use it.

    The breakfast and dinner buffet is very satisfying.

    The large public bath and the Facility in general may be somewhat old and not particularly outstanding in terms of hardware, but in terms of software, cleaning and other services are thorough, the staff's response is pleasant, and the selection and content of the buffet for dinner and breakfast were good.

    First time at Tamatsukuri Onsen

    This time, I stayed at Tamatsukuri Onsen for the first time, also visiting Tamatsukuri Yujinja Shrine and Seiganji Temple. I was attracted to this property because a ladies' room had been newly established. The shuttle service from Tamatsukuri Onsen Station was very accommodating. The room had seven colors available, and although there was a fee, you could choose your favorite color. I chose green, and it was a spacious and very relaxing room. The amenities and drinks were plentiful, and you could borrow a colored yukata as a service. The meals were buffets for both dinner and breakfast, with more than enough variety and selection. The small pot you could make yourself was excellent. Local ingredients were used, and it was very delicious. I wished the bath could be used a little later. There was a private bath available, but it was paid, so I didn't use it this time. The facility lacked shops to buy souvenirs in the onsen town, so I used the shop inside the property, but there were some out-of-stock items. It would have been better if it was more well-stocked. The staff were pleasant, and I was able to spend a truly relaxing time. Satisfaction is perfect!!! It is a very good property. I definitely want to use it again. I recommended it to my daughter and friends.

    Simple is good.

    Check-in was smooth and simple without unnecessary interaction. We were able to enjoy our meal without too much fuss (as we had a little one with us). We also appreciated the welcoming atmosphere for bathers throughout the town.

    Clean and Popular Ryokan

    It felt like a traditional public Onsen Ryokan. The cleaning was thorough and it was clean, and it didn't have the cheapness of a budget Ryokan, but it wasn't luxurious either, giving the impression of a mid-level Ryokan. The buffet meals for dinner and breakfast might be popular for their all-you-can-eat crab and roast beef, but the other dishes were ordinary. Some dishes, like tempura, were over-fried and the batter was hard, and honestly, there were dishes that I felt could be improved. The bath had the good quality water typical of Tamatsukuri Onsen, and although the open-air bath on the first floor was small, the garden view was nice and the atmosphere was pleasant. Since we stayed on the middle day of a three-day weekend, the price was a bit high, but considering the overall quality of service, it felt a bit overpriced.

    The buffet-style dinner and breakfast exceeded my expectations—I was very satisfied. You can eat as much as you want of whatever you feel like! The Room’s toilet itself was tilted, which made me feel uncomfortable. The bath: the open-air bath was small! The hot spring quality also felt somewhat underwhelming.     Onsen for Beautiful Skin

    Stayed with three friends. The Room was spacious, and the buffet breakfast and dinner had a wide variety, with fresh sashimi that was very satisfying. The quality of the hot spring water at Tamatsukuri Onsen was exceptionally good.

    First time at Tamatsukuri Onsen

    Matsunoyu at Tamatsukuri Onsen was quite a good Ryokan. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, but I thought they were quite delicious. It has become one of the Ryokans I would like to visit again.

    Buffet

    At first, I was not very excited when I heard it was a buffet, but the sashimi was fresh, the beef stew was delicious, and the Shine Muscat tart was amazing. There was also prosciutto and cheese sauce on the side, which was very tasty. It was a property that made me want to visit again.
