    We’re sorry to hear that.

    Perhaps because I made a Reservation when the discount rate was high, the Room I was shown felt stuffy, the carpet was covered in stains, it was hard to call it clean, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout the Room. I was very disappointed and immediately called the front desk to ask to change the Room. The Room they moved me to was completely different from the one I had been assigned and was clean. Why is there such a difference within the same Hotel? I suppose they are not aiming for feedback that says anyone would have been satisfied. In the past at another Accommodation, I once had staff kindly upgrade me with a smile because Rooms were available, so this was disappointing. I will not return.

    We thoroughly enjoye...

    We thoroughly enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast buffets. At dinner, the Shimane Wagyu roast beef and sweet shrimp were especially delicious. For breakfast, in addition to making our own seafood bowl, we also loved the Shimane Wagyu beef stew, which was hearty with plenty of meat. The garden was beautiful, and all the staff were kind and helpful. Thank you very much.

    A Highly Satisfying Accommodation

    The short male staff member who guided us in the parking lot left the strongest impression—he was truly wonderful. It felt like the very best of Japanese hospitality, and I was glad to see people like him still around. The food was delicious, and we didn’t have enough time to enjoy it all (haha). The bath’s open-air tub was a bit small, but the temperature was perfect. The Room was spacious and clean. We also enjoyed the amazing origami displayed throughout the building. We’d love to visit again.

    A wide variety of buffet dishes

    The buffet was fun, with a wide variety of dishes. However, I was concerned that the facilities felt a bit outdated. The bath area is also old, and I think some renovation would be beneficial. The bathroom floor is slippery; an elderly guest slipped off a chair and fell. Getting to the open-air bath also feels unsafe, so it would be very difficult for older guests. The yukata were quite faded, and the towels were rough as well, which was disappointing.

    The food was delicious.

    A wide variety of local dishes were served in small bowls, and we really enjoyed them. It was my first time trying Shimane’s branded rice, and it was so delicious that I couldn’t help getting a second serving. All the ingredients were fresh! The Onsen was also wonderful—my skin felt radiant after bathing. I informed you in advance that one person would be canceling, but it seems the message didn’t come through properly, which was the only disappointment.

    A great-value, welcoming Hotel

    This time, I made a Reservation for a Multiple Night Stay to fully enjoy the Tamatsukuri Onsen. I was worried because it’s far from the station, but the courteous Shuttle Service helped me on both days and was very reassuring. The silky-smooth hot spring water, the vending machine with Shirobara milk, and the in-room amenities—enough for two days and great as souvenirs—were all excellent. The buffet meals were also satisfying in both variety and taste, and I truly enjoyed them. Thank you very much.

    誕生日温泉巡

    It turned out to be the best birthday ever.

    Although I’m a local, I stayed here to celebrate my birthday. The crab was outstanding, and every dish at both dinner and breakfast was delicious. I also enjoyed a relaxing soak in the Onsen, which eased my fatigue and left me feeling refreshed. I’d love to visit again during cherry blossom season.

    It was amazing!!!

    Everything was perfect. I enjoyed the Onsen three times, and everything I ate was absolutely delicious!!! The sashimi was fresh, and I had a truly happy 2-day, 1-night stay. All the staff were so kind!! Thank you very much.

    It was excellent.

    This was my second stay following last year. I requested a shuttle service from the station to the accommodation, but due to strong winds, the train stopped. When I contacted them, they responded kindly. The room was clean and comfortable with effective heating. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, and every dish was delicious. The roast beef and sashimi at dinner, as well as the beef stew and omelet at breakfast, were particularly delightful. The onsen was at a perfect temperature, and I enjoyed it four times in total. It was very warming and relaxing. All the staff members were extremely kind and attentive. Overall, I had an amazing time here. I will definitely stay again when visiting Shimane Prefecture. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

    Good.

    The facility is clean, and the Onsen was great. However, it was very disappointing that the private bath was not an Onsen. The buffet offered a variety of dishes and was delicious. I enjoyed the tasty meals and relaxing hot water, leaving me satisfied.

    The chlorine smell in the Onsen is too strong.

    Due to the large number of guests, it might be unavoidable, but the chlorine disinfection was too strong, making it feel like being in a pool. The buffet had many good reviews, but the crab had little meat, and the sashimi was not fresh at all, which was very disappointing. However, all the staff had wonderful smiles that were truly comforting.

    This was my first time staying at Tamatsukuri Onsen, and it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel staff are friendly and polite, the facilities are slightly old but well-maintained. The only downside is that the dinner buffet is limited to 90 minutes per session, which feels a bit rushed. Other than that, everything was great. I will definitely visit again!

    Not recommended.

    The accommodation is old, and the ceiling air conditioner was noisy, so I turned it off, but then I experienced coughing and a runny nose. The windows were sealed with tape and could not be opened. Since it was a Saturday, check-in required waiting in the lobby for over 15 minutes. The parking lot is far away, and guests are transported by van once a group has gathered. Inside the room, occasional voices from neighboring rooms could be heard. There were no shelves or space in the bathroom for makeup use, and the bath felt intimidating to use. Between the room door and sliding door is a water area where I noticed an unpleasant smell. Meals were buffet-style with many options; it seemed like this was what most guests came for, which made sense to me. However, none of the staff smiled during interactions—not unfriendly but lacking attentiveness as well. This distant attitude from staff members extended to those at reception as well throughout my stay at this accommodation.

    The room was unexpectedly spacious, and although it felt a bit dated, it was clean and satisfactory. There was an abundance of food, and each small dish was very delicious. All the staff were pleasant, and their hard work made the stay comfortable. The quality of the Onsen water was a bit disappointing.

    A trip to Shimane and Tottori - enjoyed by three generations of our family.

    It was a lovely accommodation, operated with great care from check-in to meal times. The food was delicious, and I especially found the desserts to be outstanding. The friendliness of the staff also left a lasting impression. If given the chance, I would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

    Great accommodation....

    Great accommodation. At the entrance gate, the staff confirmed my name and informed the front desk, so I was warmly greeted by name as soon as I entered. When I called to ask about what would happen if we couldn't make it due to a typhoon the day before, the female staff member's refreshing and kind response was very comforting. Thank you to the driver who took us to the station on our way back and kindly took our photo. The meals were satisfying with a rich buffet selection (both breakfast and dinner). I will definitely visit again within 2-3 years. Thank you very much!

    The breakfast and dinner buffets were excellent. However, during a Multiple Night Stay, having the same menu can become repetitive, so it would be great if the menu could be changed on alternate days.

    Attention to Room Key!

    The room key holder has a magnet attached. If you put the room key and your wallet in the same pocket, your cash cards may become demagnetized and unreadable, leaving you unable to withdraw money during your trip. We have informed Matsunoyu about this issue, but please be careful not to place your wallet and keys close together during your stay.

    It was comfortable.

    I chose this accommodation because many reviews mentioned that the dinner and breakfast buffets were delicious. As the reviews said, there was a wide variety of dishes, all of which were so tasty that I ended up eating too much (laughs). There were also many options that children enjoyed, which was very helpful. The onsen at Tamatsukuri Onsen was truly amazing, leaving my skin feeling smooth and soft. The day before our stay, there was a heavy rain warning in Matsue, and when I called out of concern, they kindly assured me that "the safety of our guests is our top priority," and waived the cancellation fee even though it would normally apply. This thoughtful response made me feel it is a wonderful accommodation that truly cares for its guests. If I have another chance to visit Tamatsukuri Onsen, I would definitely love to stay here again!

    The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were lightly seasoned and delicious. Many recent hotels offer buffet-style meals with strong flavors, but Matsunoyu's lighter seasoning was very pleasant. Everything was extremely tasty! The bath area was also spacious and relaxing. It's a hotel I would love to stay at again.

    The Ultimate Buffet in Japan

    This was my second visit. I couldn't forget the meal from last time, so I made a Reservation again. The dinner buffet did not disappoint—absolutely amazing! Breakfast with fresh seafood bowls was also satisfying. No matter how many times I visit, it's always exceptional. I look forward to visiting again next time!

    The buffet was luxur...

    The buffet was luxurious and delicious, the guest room was more spacious than expected and very comfortable. The atmosphere of the Ryokan was excellent, and the bath, including the open-air onsen, was outstanding. This is an accommodation I would love to stay at again when visiting Tamatsukuri Onsen.

    Private Bath

    As mentioned in the survey, the clock in the private bath was not working. Since there was a time limit, I had to check my smartphone for the time and couldn't fully relax.

    The facility is old, but the meals are very delicious!

    We stayed here during the cherry blossom season. Located right in the heart of Tamatsukuri Onsen town, with a beautiful river flowing right in front. In the evening, we enjoyed a luxurious stroll in yukata. As it is an old Ryokan, the Facility is admittedly aged, and the water facilities are not sparkling new. (The quality of the Onsen water is excellent.) However, this was more than compensated by the staff's attentive hospitality and meals that exceeded expectations! The buffet offered such high-quality dishes that we were pleasantly surprised both at dinner and breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed Shimane's local flavors. Thank you very much!

    It might be the off-season, as many shops in town were closed.

    The Onsen town, which I visited after a long time, felt somewhat more retro than I remembered. The Hotel also seems just right for a relaxing stay.
