    It seems the Onsen was not working properly.

    The bathwater was pleasantly warm, so I could soak for a long time. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. I might come again just for the meals.

    We were welcomed ver...

    We were welcomed very warmly. The building and Facility are undeniably old, the air conditioner’s heating didn’t work (there was a warm-air heater), the sliding door between the bedroom and living room wouldn’t close properly, and the yukata were quite worn (though they were properly laundered). The floor chairs in the living room were uncomfortable, and I wished there had been a regular chair. In winter, it seems this becomes a sunken kotatsu. That said, the bath was wonderful, and with the great view, excellent service, and delicious food, it all balanced out overall... Since we stayed in a detached room with a semi-open-air bath, we were able to relax and enjoy our time.

    A place where you can relax and fully enjoy the meals and the Onsen.

    We stayed in a detached annex. The website said “indoor bath type,” and there were no photos, so we expected a regular bath—but it pleasantly exceeded our expectations. I really think you should post photos of that bath on the website! We originally planned to use the open-air bath, but ended up using the in-room bath the whole time (lol). Also, I believe it was fully booked, yet while we were in our Room we couldn’t hear any voices or noise from other guests at all. You can definitely feel its age, but as a Ryokan it had everything we were looking for. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and very generous in portion size. In particular, I made a Reservation for the half steamed chicken at dinner and it was quite an experience (in a good way). From the website photos I (wrongly) imagined a bone-in thigh, but it truly was “half.” It was very tasty, but you’ll need to save room in your stomach (especially women). When we asked, they even prepared the leftover steamed chicken so we could eat it in our Room! All staff members were wonderful—everyone was pleasant and welcoming. This quiet mountain Ryokan fulfilled everything I wanted: simply enjoying the Onsen and great food. Thank you very much.

    Odor Control Measures

    Thank you very much. Dinner was excellent in taste, portion size, and variety. It was truly delicious. However, although we were told deodorizing had been done, the Room smelled of cigarettes, and the toilet was especially bad. I regularly sprayed the deodorizer I brought on all the walls from the entrance onward, but it didn’t work for the toilet (lol). The smell may have seeped in from years of cigarette smoke. That said, the hot spring water in the open-air bath in the Room was wonderful. Next time as well, I would like to stay in a Room with an open-air bath. We usually stay at Accommodations in Yufuin, but we also enjoyed this smooth-feeling hot spring water. P.S. Even if there are fewer items at breakfast, we would be happy if there were a delicious grilled fish—one of your Accommodation’s specialties.

    For those who want to indulge in a luxurious bath experience

    It was a quiet mountain accommodation. The family bath, full of a handmade feel, was freely available, and I used it four times. If I may say so, the view could have been better (though this can't be helped). The meals were delicious, especially the fish, made with local ingredients that added flavor to the journey. Just one thing—the parking lot is right in front, but I hesitated for a moment wondering if it was okay to park there.

    100% Satisfaction Guaranteed

    Almost perfect in every way, except for the noisy air conditioner in the Room. Dinner was amazing—it's such a joy to enjoy delicious sashimi in the middle of the mountains! The other dishes were also incredibly tasty. Many thanks to everyone at the Ryokan!

    A wonderful Ryokan t...

    A wonderful Ryokan that exceeded expectations with its Onsen and meals. The service was also excellent, leaving us very satisfied. The only disappointment was the weather, which prevented us from enjoying the outdoor open-air bath. Next time, I look forward to soaking in the open-air bath under a starry sky—definitely planning to return!

    Best Value Ryokan

    It was a wonderful accommodation. Dinner featured a fresh sashimi boat, and breakfast included onsen-steamed dishes, which were truly impressive. The baths, including private ones, are also excellent.

    Annual Sisters' Trip

    Fresh and delicious fish and meat in the middle of the mountains made everyone very satisfied. The conversation with the staff was enjoyable, making dinner a great way to relieve daily stress. However, it would be helpful if there were slightly higher chairs in the Room, as standing up can be challenging for older guests. The baths, each with a unique atmosphere, were wonderful. I look forward to visiting again. Thank you very much!

    Relax in the "Bijin no Yu" hot spring and enjoy views of steam and a sea of clouds.

    Ryokan Sansui is located on a hill and offers a charming atmosphere. Meals are served at the same time for all guests, but the dining areas are partitioned like private rooms, allowing you to enjoy your meal without worrying about others. The staff were very polite, pleasant, and efficient in serving the dishes. Dinner included fresh sashimi boat platters and Ise lobster sashimi, all of which were delicious and luxurious, leaving us completely satisfied. It felt almost unbelievable to have such an experience at this price. Although the building is older, the room was clean, bright, and offered stunning views of distant mountains and a sea of clouds. One minor downside was that depending on the room location, there was some cooking smell from the kitchen; however, it dissipated quickly after returning to the room post-meal. The baths were excellent with many family baths available where we could relax privately multiple times without encountering other guests. The onsen water was wonderful—known as "Bijin no Yu" (beauty-enhancing water)—and truly soothing. However, there was no heating in the changing area by some baths; during this season it felt slightly chilly in larger bath areas. There are various baths outside of the main building located on higher ground as well. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try out one mixed-gender bath with great views at its highest point but would love to next time! We hope to visit again during cherry blossom or autumn foliage season!

    An average accommodation.

    This accommodation offers good value for money with its IKYU No Meals Included rate and two meals included. However, it is not recommended for those accustomed to high-level services. The 5-star service rating in reviews seems questionable. There is no pick-up or send-off service, no room guidance, and guests are expected to carry their own luggage from the car to the room. It appears to operate under a "no-touch" policy rarely seen these days. Meal times are fixed at 6 PM for dinner and 8 AM for breakfast, with all guests starting simultaneously. This accommodation minimizes labor costs as much as possible to keep prices low. It is recommended when you want to save money. Located in the mountains, it offers fresh sashimi as part of its meals.

    The smell of tobacco in the Room...

    This time, I stayed in a detached room. I requested the chef's choice course for the meal. Regarding the food, it was impeccable, with a boat platter, spiny lobster, and a delicious breakfast. There was so much food that I couldn't finish it all. I was very satisfied with the food. The detached room was also truly separate and in an excellent location. However, the smell of tobacco in the room was strong, and as someone who doesn't smoke and dislikes the smell of tobacco, this was quite tough for me. Without the tobacco smell, it would have been 120 points, but with the smell, it was about -60 points. The futon also had the tobacco smell ingrained, making it difficult to sleep. Additionally, while it's common to have tea and snacks in the room, the absence of snacks was a negative point. The onsen was excellent. However, there was no hairdryer in the bath... Since the hairdryer was only in the room, I couldn't dry my hair without returning to the room after washing it. In cold weather, it seems like I might catch a cold. Also, while I could pay in advance with a credit card, when I asked to pay for the drinks ordered during dinner with a credit card at checkout, I was told that drinks are requested to be paid in cash... Isn't this a violation of credit card regulations? While the food and onsen were very good, there were some slightly disappointing aspects.

    First time stay!

    It was my first time using the Property, and it was in a very good location! The staff member who assisted us was a very friendly woman who provided a thorough guide and explanation. All the staff members were very friendly and provided excellent service with smiles. The Room we chose was a detached room with an open-air bath, and although there were quite a few insects due to the season, the Room was clean, and the open-air bath was nice. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious. I would definitely like to stay again. Including the surrounding scenery, it was an excellent Stays.
