Summer Onsen
I visited thinking an Onsen might still be nice even in the hot summer, but it was indeed too warm to soak for long. The Onsen itself was exactly my preferred temperature and had a smooth feel, so I was very satisfied. However, it was a bit disappointing that the open-air bath in the Room was not an Onsen, and that the route to the Onsen was a little hard to follow. As for everything else, including the service, I was very satisfied. I would like to stay again when the weather is cooler.

Highly satisfied
The sashimi boat platter at dinner was stunning and tasted amazing. Our whole family loved it, and we really enjoyed our drinks. Of course, the other dishes were delicious as well. Breakfast was a buffet, and the sashimi was excellent too. The sauna was very clean and relaxing. It opens from 4:00 a.m., so we could refresh with an early-morning sauna. We’d definitely love to come again.

Not great.
Yamashiro Onsen might be good for those who want to visit different baths. The town feels a bit run-down, and even buying souvenirs is a struggle. The Accommodation is also so-so, so you shouldn’t decide based only on the photos. First, there was no chair at the vanity table—essential for women—and the lighting was dim, so I borrowed a stand light and a chair. It’s more like a washbasin than a vanity. There is a sofa, but you can’t watch TV while sitting on it because the angle is completely from the side. The lighting in the Room is kept dim, perhaps to hide how old it is or to mask cleaning issues. There was quite a bit of dust around things like the air conditioner. It was a Room with an open-air bath, but since the washing area and bathtub are separate, it felt like an unnecessary hassle. Breakfast is buffet-style—the usual. Dinner was also average; not bad, but nothing particularly memorable either. The staff who helped us did what they could, but overall it didn’t feel guest-oriented.

It was a wonderful Accommodation.
The Room was bright with plenty of natural light, beautifully clean, and decorated in a white-based style. I missed the timing to visit the large public bath, but I was able to relax and fully enjoy the Onsen in the private open-air bath in our room. Even after we got home, my skin still felt smooth. We often felt the staff’s hospitality throughout our stay. Since it was my partner’s birthday, I asked if there was any way to arrange a surprise, and they prepared a lovely handmade message card for us at dinner. They also took photos for us, and when we checked out, they even placed one of the photos in a frame for us to take home. Thank you so much for accommodating our last-minute request. We were also very satisfied with the full-course crab dinner. We enjoyed a variety of delicious crab dishes. Our assigned staff member kindly explained how to crack the crab at the beginning, noticed when we were struggling, and helped us with it. We made wonderful memories here and would love to visit again someday. Thank you very much.

The bath and the staff’s thoughtful hospitality were perfect.
The Facility is old, with peeling wallpaper in places and some Rooms feeling a bit dark, but it is well cleaned and very hygienic. The amenities were also satisfying—each person could use two towels and two yukata. The baths were, of course, clean, spacious, and relaxing. The hot spring water was gentle with little irritation, the temperature was just right, and there was also a sauna—nothing to complain about. The staff’s attentiveness and considerate service were not just good—they were excellent. As for the meals, many dishes were heavily seasoned or overly sweet, while others lacked flavor. If there were a Plan without meals, it might be better to go out for something tasty and then relax in the Room at your own pace. Because the baths and the staff are perfect scores, this is an Accommodation I would like to visit again if the meals could be improved to something simple but genuinely delicious.

We had a relaxing stay.
It felt like I could truly enjoy a traditional Onsen Ryokan again after a long time. The Onsen was relaxing, and the staff were all welcoming and attentive—I was very satisfied. The breakfast was also delicious.

Exceptional hospitality—both the food and the people
As we did last year, the three of us—my mother, who turns 90 this year, my husband, and I—stayed again this year. The building is old, but the greetings, kind words, and thoughtful care from everyone—the Shuttle Service staff, those who welcomed us at the entrance, those who guided us to our Room, and the dining staff—were all wonderful. We were able to relax and enjoy a very pleasant stay. The cuisine was outstanding. The chef’s creativity in each dish—the combinations of ingredients and beautiful presentation—was impressive, and everything was delicious. Even my mother, who usually eats only small portions, was able to finish every dish without leaving anything. The breakfast buffet was also excellent; the sweet shrimp sashimi, rice, local vegetables—everything was delicious, and it felt like we got a full year’s worth of nourishment. For bathing, we used both the open-air bath in our Room and the large public bath. The Onsen water quality was great and left our skin smooth. We also booked a facial massage for my mother. She had been deeply impressed last time by how wonderful it felt—the best she had ever experienced—so we requested the same therapist again and were lucky enough to have them available. My mother was truly moved. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I was very satisfied!
A long-overdue overnight stay with three female classmates. We chose this Accommodation because we wanted somewhere calm rather than a noisy place. Since it’s close by, we’d already heard the food had a great reputation. When we arrived, the staff’s bright smiles made us think it might be even better than expected. At dinner—the meal we’d been looking forward to—we knew we’d made the right choice! The large public bath was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was buffet-style, but since it was in a private room, we could relax and eat as much as we wanted. Everything tasted great. If I had one suggestion, I wish the shop had a bit more to offer. The dressing at breakfast was so delicious that I wanted to buy some as a souvenir, but I couldn’t find it in the shop—too bad! Still, overall this is a calm, adult-oriented Accommodation: amazing food, amazing baths, and amazing staff. Thank you very much.

The food was amazing!
Thank you for taking care of us in March. The building itself feels old—like the corridors and the lobby area around the banquet hall—but our Room with an open-air Onsen had been fully renovated, and everything was spotless, from the bathroom areas to every corner of the Room. The in-room Onsen is also free-flowing from the source; even at Onsen Accommodations, many Rooms only have regular hot water or a recirculating system, so we were really happy. The open-air bath is visible to the outside, but there’s greenery arranged like a small garden, so whether you’re looking from the Room or soaking in the Onsen, the view is lovely. There’s an indoor shower booth as well, and even though it was a cold rainy day, it was perfectly designed so you can wash slowly and comfortably before heading into the open-air bath. (I forgot to take photos of the Room—oops.) The large public bath also has an indoor bath and an open-air bath, plus a big sauna that felt great—so much so that even I, who don’t usually use saunas, ended up enjoying it. Dinner was served in a semi-private space. We didn’t upgrade anything, but it was more than enough—if this were Tokyo it would easily be over 10,000 yen. The appetizers were beautifully presented as an assorted “hassun” selection in a basket. They used local ingredients such as udo shoots and tsuruna greens as well as firm tofu; there were many small items in variety, yet each one was carefully prepared. The sashimi included kinki (a fish you rarely get to eat). The lightly blanched skin had a nice bite—honestly I may have preferred it to being served nodoguro. The soy sauce was slightly sweet and made by a local brewery. After that came steamed dishes and meat courses, finishing with simmered sea bream head. (There’s more I could say about how good it all was, but I’ll keep this short.) The rice cooked individually in small pots used “Inochi no Ichi,” sourced from contracted farmers; each grain is large with natural sweetness—truly delicious. Many dishes highlighted dashi and ingredient flavors with gentle seasoning rather than heavy saltiness—which suited our tastes perfectly. It may also have helped that there were no fried items; my wife usually slows down halfway through toward the end of meals at places like this, but she ate almost everything. Breakfast is buffet-style with local vegetables and regional dishes, plus live-kitchen dashimaki tamago (rolled omelet). Even after eating well at night we still ended up overeating from morning. The hospitality from everyone at the Accommodation was wonderful too—it made for a truly satisfying trip. When we travel to Hokuriku again, we’d love to stay here once more. Thank you very much!

A long-established Onsen Ryokan that warms both your heart and soul with genuine hospitality.
We truly appreciated being able to enter our Room right away after arriving on the 2:00 PM Shuttle Service. The staff were very kind and promptly brought us a desk lamp. They also had the requested floor chair prepared in advance and placed us in the third-floor Room we asked for, which really showed their wonderful hospitality. The free-flowing Onsen was delightful and left us feeling warm all over. We also enjoyed the private bath at our own pace as a couple. I’m very sorry for the trouble caused when we completely forgot to return the key. Dinner was delicious, but my husband especially loved breakfast—he said it reminded him of his mother’s home cooking from Kanazawa and he was absolutely delighted. Even after returning home, he has been talking about dishes like berobero and kuruma-fu simmered with egg, saying they brought back memories of his mother. It was cold on the way to the toilet, washbasin area, and Onsen, so we would appreciate it if that area could be kept warmer. We were completely satisfied with everything—the meals, the Onsen, and your hospitality. Next time, my husband and I are thinking of requesting a higher-floor Room. We could truly feel everyone at this Accommodation welcoming guests from the heart, which warmed both our bodies and our spirits. Thank you as well for taking commemorative photos for my 70th birthday celebration. It was a wonderful trip, and we would love to visit again.

Not properly cleaned.
There were some spots left uncleaned on the table. Although it was promptly addressed, I wondered if there is no post-cleaning inspection. Additionally, the door resembling a machine room in the wall of the Room's bath was left open. It was disappointing as the customer service was otherwise excellent.

Stay with Mother
Choosing an Onsen for my mother, who has difficulty walking, is always a challenge, but the Room we stayed in this time allowed her to use the private bath, which was great! It would have been even better if there were handrails in key areas, but we had a comfortable stay. The staff were very kind and pleasant, and the food was delicious—my mother was delighted! Also, I thought the pillows were excellent!

The food was excellent.
Stayed in a room with an open-air Onsen. We chose a Japanese-Western style room as we were traveling with elderly parents. The room being on the first floor was very convenient. The room was spacious, featuring a large kotatsu, and we spent most of our time there. There was a big window in the room, and the sound of bamboo and trees swaying in the wind was delightful. The food was exceptional! On the first day, we enjoyed kaiseki cuisine and shabu-shabu. On the second day, it was kaiseki again along with buri-shabu—a winter specialty—which was absolutely amazing! When they served grilled fish (a whole nodoguro per person) as part of what I thought would be just kaiseki cuisine, I wondered if there had been some mix-up with our course selection! Honestly, just having kaiseki alone would have been satisfying enough for me. But then came the buri-shabu—thickly sliced pieces of buri served on a large platter—and it tasted incredible. All staff members, including those serving meals and cleaning staff, greeted us warmly with smiles throughout our stay—it felt very welcoming. For sightseeing: within 2 minutes by car from this accommodation are two shared Onsen facilities—Sōyu and Kosōyu. Kosōyu recreates traditional-style Onsens from long ago; it’s truly charming to experience! On our way back home after visiting these places nearby attractions like convenience stores (just 1 minute away), we also bought yokan sweets & hot spring eggs which turned out delicious too! One thing worth noting is that this Ryokan building itself lies tucked away slightly further inside its location area than expected; following Google Maps blindly might lead you down tricky paths instead so beware while navigating roads around here!

Great service and delicious food!
I have visited Yamashiro Onsen several times, but this was my first stay at Yoshidaya Sannoukaku. The building and the room we stayed in were a bit old, but I personally appreciate how they carefully maintain and repair the old structure while ensuring guests can enjoy their stay comfortably. Thoughtful touches could be seen throughout, and everything was impeccably clean, which gave a great sense of comfort. The staff who attended to us were young but very polite and kind, making our stay pleasant. The meals were truly delicious, with intricate preparation and beautiful presentation that exceeded expectations. The simmered sea bream with pink pepper was quite large but so flavorful that I finished it without getting tired of it. The lotus root steamed dish was also exceptionally tasty! This is just my personal preference, but the meat grilled with hoba miso had a slightly strong miso flavor—I would have preferred to enjoy more of the natural taste of the ingredients themselves. Overall, it was an excellent stay with meals and hospitality that far exceeded the cost of accommodation!

It was very relaxing.
We were very satisfied with this Ryokan. To be honest, we were a bit anxious on the way as we passed by some abandoned Ryokans, but the welcome, the Room, and the bath were all excellent. The meals were especially delicious. Not only was the taste of each dish impeccable, but even the tableware matched perfectly and added to the experience. Thank you to the gentleman who attended to us. Your knowledge and attentiveness were remarkable. During breakfast, when we seemed a bit confused, you immediately handed us a towel without hesitation. We were amazed at how attentive and observant you always are—this is truly Japanese hospitality at its finest! We will visit again next year. Thank you very much!

Sannokaku After the Air Show
This was our first stay at this Ryokan. The young staff members were working hard. We stayed in a room called "Haraku." It had just been renovated, so it was clean and bright, and it came with an Onsen, which we enjoyed multiple times. The large public bath was also clean. There were only two bath towels provided, which felt a bit insufficient. Dinner was served in a private room, and breakfast in a semi-private room. We could enjoy our meals at a relaxed pace. The dishes included some elaborate creations, and even combinations we thought might not work turned out to be surprisingly delicious. The grilled Nodoguro with salt and everything else we tried were excellent as well! This Ryokan retains the charm of an established inn while incorporating modern touches—it felt like the perfect balance. Although the air show we planned to attend got rained out and dampened our spirits, choosing this Ryokan made up for it entirely! We had such a relaxing time here that my spouse and I are already looking forward to visiting again!

Warm hospitality.
Arriving at the property was surprising due to the abandoned facility next door. It’s unfortunate to have such a neighbor, but the warm hospitality here completely made up for it. The large public bath on the third floor is newly renovated with a modern design. Personally, I preferred the first-floor public bath as it had no chlorine smell and felt more comfortable. There is also an in-room bath, and I slept soundly through the night. The futon was comfortable with two soft pillows. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The hairdryer provided is of high quality. Amenities are well-stocked in the public baths. The entire facility is clean. There are areas that have been renovated and others that remain untouched, but I look forward to seeing further updates in the future!

Normal
The Room is clean, but the Ryokan itself is old. The staff's explanation of the dishes during dinner was not detailed and seemed incorrect even while reading from notes. Overall, the portion sizes are rather small. The simmered fish was delicious.

The staff were all very kind.
The staff were incredibly kind and warm, making the trip much more enjoyable. The Room had blackout curtains to block the sunlight during summer, which made it quite dark even during the day—a bit disappointing. However, the quality of the bathwater was excellent, and I especially loved the sauna. It was a wonderful experience that made me realize how much warmth from people can enhance a journey.

From the Reservation process to the stay, everything was handled with care, allowing for a comfortable experience. The meals featured local ingredients and were highly satisfying. Is this checkout time acceptable for the site?
The website stated a checkout time of 12:00, and I planned my sightseeing schedule accordingly. However, just after 11:00 AM, I received a call from the front desk saying, "Your checkout time has passed. Would you like to extend your stay?" I went to the front desk before 12:00 and offered to pay for an extension, but they said it was unnecessary since they hadn't explained the checkout time during check-in. If there is an error in the listing, shouldn't this be communicated before the travel date? Even now, the website still shows a checkout time of 12:00—what's going on here? From what I gather based on what was said by Hotel staff, it seems like an error on the part of whoever manages the website listing. This left me with a bad impression.

For my daughter's first trip
We stayed here for our first trip to celebrate our daughter's first birthday. We brought baby food and thought sharing the same futon would be fine, but they provided a Bumbo seat, baby futon, and even baby utensils for in-room dining. At the breakfast buffet, they lent us a cart to place the tray on, which was very helpful. All the staff were kind and attentive. The dining staff especially interacted warmly with our daughter and explained everything thoroughly, which we greatly appreciated. The private bath and open-air bath were incredibly relaxing, and the meals were satisfying in both quantity and taste—everything was truly delicious. The sashimi was particularly fresh and tasty at both dinner's boat platter presentation and breakfast buffet. Although I usually don't enjoy seafood much, I found it so delicious here that I ended up eating a lot. We had such a wonderful time on our daughter's first trip; she seemed very happy as well. Thank you so much! We look forward to staying here again when we visit Ishikawa next time!

Sannoukaku Yoshidaya
We stayed at Sannokaku Yoshidaya for a 2-night, 3-day trip with our family of five during our annual vacation. It was a peaceful and relaxing time. The meals featured local ingredients, focusing on vegetables and fish, which were gentle on the body. We also enjoyed wearing yukata after a long time and experiencing the charm of a Japanese Onsen Ryokan. While many Japanese Onsen accommodations have rooms that accommodate up to three people with twin beds or an extra bed, this accommodation offers spacious rooms where larger groups can stay together comfortably. For sauna enthusiasts, the clean facilities equipped with reclining chairs provide an excellent space to relax. The only downside was the restricted bathing hours, which meant we couldn't use the sauna at certain times. We had hoped to dedicate one full day during our multiple night stay to enjoying the Onsen and sauna but were unable to fulfill that wish. As it is located in a quiet town, it might be nice if there were more options or arrangements for guests staying multiple nights to enjoy their time at the accommodation. For those looking forward to leisurely enjoying saunas and Onsens during their extended stays, this could be slightly disappointing. The dinner was delicious, so we would love to visit again if we have another opportunity. Thank you very much!

A Birthday Trip for My Husband
The Hotel itself was old, but the Room had been renovated and had a very natural and pleasant feel. The staff provided excellent service. Above all, we were able to relax so much as a couple. The open-air bath in the Room was very gentle on the skin, with just the right temperature, so we used it multiple times. Enjoying the Onsen while admiring the view was truly healing. The meals offered a variety of dishes and were enjoyable. Since it was my husband's birthday, they kindly took a photo for us and presented it in a photo frame at checkout. It became a truly memorable keepsake. Thank you very much!

It was a great trip.
The room had an old-fashioned feel, but it was spacious and satisfying. The staff's kindness and the bath facilities made for a delightful stay. (The sauna is also impressive.) If I hadn't been traveling with children, I would have enjoyed the sauna even longer! The onsen water was excellent, making the visit to Yamashiro Onsen worthwhile. Breakfast featured many local dishes and was delicious. I was impressed by the availability of a cart for children, which allowed them to enjoy selecting each dish one by one. Thank you for providing such wonderful accommodation; we truly appreciated your hospitality!

We stayed with our infant and found the accommodation perfect for families with children, featuring a private open-air bath, tatami room, and low beds. My husband, whose birthday we were celebrating, also enjoyed the large public bath and sauna very much. Although we had heard about a photo service for birthdays but did not receive it, we were very satisfied with the room and excellent service.
