    We had a relaxing stay.

    We visited as a couple to celebrate my retirement. The Room had been renovated and was clean, beautiful, and spacious enough to relax comfortably. The food was delicious, with many dishes and generous portions, so we ended up eating more than usual. The foreign staff were well trained and provided polite service without any awkwardness. I think this Accommodation is a great fit for calm seniors and young couples. I’m glad my wife seemed to like it too.

    It was amazing!

    We stayed at this Accommodation on our first trip as three generations of our family because in-room dining was available. It was close to the station, and both the exterior and the lobby felt clean and well maintained, giving us a very pleasant impression at check-in. The proprietress and all the staff were truly kind, providing warm and thoughtful service. The Room, the meals, the bath, and the service were all excellent—we were completely satisfied with this Hotel. Above all, the hand towels had such a wonderful fragrance that we even asked the proprietress about it at check-out. It was a truly relaxing trip that left us completely satisfied.

    Everything was satisfactory except for the meals.

    This was my first stay. We usually take a monthly Onsen trip to Atami or Izu, but since it was crowded during Obon this time, we visited Kinugawa for the first time in 20 years. We go to the Onsen in Nasu about twice a year, but it had been a while since Kinugawa, so even the drive there was enjoyable. Just as the Reviews said, the Accommodation was wonderful, and the foreign staff were very attentive; the hospitality was excellent. The Room was new and clean. It was compact with an easy-to-watch TV, and very comfortable to stay in. The bath in the Room is not free-flowing; it seems to be recirculated, but we did not notice any chlorine smell. It truly is a lovely Accommodation and we had a very comfortable stay, but there was one disappointing point: dinner. I was a little worried because it would be served in our Room, and unfortunately the main meat dish was so tough that I couldn’t swallow it. The appetizers were nicely presented and well done, but I could not eat even a single bite of the main Tochigi beef roast—it remained impossible to swallow no matter how much I chewed. My husband ended up swallowing it whole... Since it’s a local branded beef, I wish more care had been taken—such as trimming sinew or cooking it in a way that makes the fibers more tender. If someone in their 50s with good teeth can’t bite through it, older guests may not be able to eat it at all. That alone was truly disappointing. On the other hand, breakfast was served in a private room. Since food cools down while being carried to guest Rooms, I would have preferred dinner freshly prepared and served in a private room as well. We were also seen off when leaving. It was a wonderful Accommodation overall. Thank you very much.

    I’d like to go with my wife next time.

    This time, I stayed with two male friends. We could really feel the staff’s warm hospitality, the meals were delicious, and the baths were excellent! Next time, I’d love to stay here with my wife.

    I was able to relax and felt satisfied.

    We stayed as a couple. The meals were completely satisfying in both taste and portion size—almost too lavish for us. The rice cooked in a clay pot at breakfast was especially outstanding. I usually eat only one bowl, but it was so delicious that I ended up having two and a half bowls. We even bought 2 go (about 300 g) to take home as a souvenir. All of the staff provided excellent service. There were also international staff members, but their Japanese was very good, and they treated us with great care and warmth. They even remembered our faces and guided us by name, which made us very happy. My wife was also extremely satisfied and said, “I want to stay here again.” The only slight disappointment was the Kinugawa Onsen area itself. Some new facilities are gradually appearing, but compared with before, I think the town would be even more appealing if it could regain a bit more of its overall liveliness. Even so, we were extremely satisfied with the Accommodation, and when we visit Kinugawa again, we would definitely like to stay at “Yurara Marukyo.” Thank you very much.

    It was clean and comfortable.

    [Room] The Room was very clean and spacious, and the air purifier made the stay comfortable. Unfortunately, Rooms with a bath were fully booked, but we were able to get a Room with a shower. The sink area was also spacious and very convenient. We were impressed by the thoughtful touches, such as snacks, tea, and even water for making tea. The amenities were well stocked as well. The Dyson hair dryer had strong airflow and was great. [Meals] Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes in generous portions, and everything was delicious—we were very satisfied. [Large Public Bath] The changing area was very clean and pleasant to use. We also appreciated being able to freely use small towels. The baths were fun too—one larger indoor bath and two smaller outdoor baths. Overall, there were many thoughtful details that made our stay comfortable—this was a wonderful Accommodation that truly anticipates guests’ needs. All of the staff were kind as well. We would definitely like to stay here again when we visit Nikko.

    A girls’ trip for four women

    It was an Accommodation designed with women in mind, conveniently located just a short walk from Kinugawa Onsen Station. The meals were very delicious. The Onsen was a bit small, and there weren’t many lockers, so two of us shared one. There were also only a few washing stations, and other guests used them while we were bathing. All the staff were very kind. Aside from the Onsen facilities, it was an excellent Accommodation.

    A relaxing space

    The Room was clean and comfortable, and the large TV made the stay even more enjoyable. The food was especially delicious. I would have appreciated a wider selection of amenities, particularly in the Room. There were no skincare items such as facial lotion.

    It was excellent.

    Overall, it was very good. The only concerns were the train noise as it is located along the railway, difficulty locking the door in the corner Room, and the indoor bath being too hot. The meals were especially delicious. Being within walking distance from the nearest station is also a big plus. I will visit again!

    It was a great accommodation.

    We recently visited Kinugawa Onsen after a long time. The location was very convenient for us as it is close to the station, making it ideal for those traveling by train. There are souvenir shops near the station and a convenience store nearby. Although the Onsen is not free-flowing, we chose a room with a semi-open-air bath, which turned out to be an excellent decision. While the public bath was also enjoyable, being able to relax and soak multiple times in our private room was truly wonderful. The meals were gentle in flavor and very delicious. We especially enjoyed the vegetables. My husband found the taste slightly mild, but that might just be personal preference. We ordered Koshu wine and enjoyed it leisurely in our room. The facility was clean with well-stocked amenities, and all staff members greeted us with warm smiles. Thanks to their hospitality, we had a pleasant stay. After checking out, they kindly stored our luggage so we could enjoy autumn foliage from nearby bridges without any hassle. Thank you very much!

    I had a relaxing time.

    I stayed in the charcoal-themed room. It was clean and well-maintained, allowing me to relax comfortably. Since it was on the railway side, I occasionally heard train sounds, which might be enjoyable for train enthusiasts. The Onsen is compact. The shower was convenient to use. I didn’t use the shampoo bar as I couldn’t tell what type of shampoo it was. It would be helpful if there were labels indicating the scent or suitable hair types. The food had a mild flavor overall and was gently delicious, which felt comforting. You can have refills of shiny white rice—it’s fantastic! From check-in to check-out, all staff members greeted us with smiles and provided attentive service, making my stay very pleasant. I’d love to visit again if given the chance—thank you!

    It was a wonderful hospitality.

    We stayed as a pair of friends and had a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, staff kindly came to the parking lot to help with our luggage, and during check-in, we were served a delicious ginger-infused sweet sake as a Welcome Drink, which made us feel warm and relaxed. The Room, dining chairs, walls in the hallways, noren curtains with floral motifs, and even the adorable tiles in the shared restroom all reflected thoughtful design that created a calming atmosphere. The room key was shaped like a cute flower and came with an elegant kimono-patterned pouch—such lovely details! The pleasant scent of incense throughout the facility added to its charm. We couldn’t resist taking photos everywhere! Both dinner and breakfast were luxurious with light seasoning that suited our taste perfectly; however, as Kansai natives who don’t add sugar to tamagoyaki (Japanese rolled omelet), we found it slightly too sweet but still appreciated it overall. The foreign staff members provided excellent service with great attention to detail. We left feeling extremely satisfied—thank you so much!

    It was a very enjoyable stay!

    For a birthday celebration

    We stayed here to celebrate her birthday. The check-in forms and the clay pot used during breakfast featured the accommodation's name and cute illustrations, which we found delightful. The staff were all smiling and provided courteous service, enhancing the wonderful atmosphere of the accommodation. The room, onsen, and meals were all absolutely satisfying. If we have another opportunity to visit Kinugawa, we would love to stay here again. Thank you very much!

    A compactly designed...

    A compactly designed accommodation, but a wonderful ryokan with attention to detail. The fragrance was pleasant, and the decorations showed thoughtful touches throughout. The public bath is not very spacious, but perhaps due to the limited number of guest rooms, it never felt crowded. The availability of face towels was much appreciated. Hydrogen water was provided, which made me feel detoxified both physically and mentally. Having both samue and yukata available was delightful, and there were many cute patterns and sashes for the yukata to choose from, making it fun to pick one out. The meals deserve more than five stars! Both dinner and breakfast were visually appealing, generously portioned, delicious—completely satisfying in every way. Meals were served in private rooms with minimal staff interruptions, creating a comfortable atmosphere without any need for concern or formality. There seemed to be many foreign staff members; however, everyone was kind and attentive. This is a ryokan I would love to revisit again someday! Thank you for your hospitality!

    The hospitality was excellent. From arrival to meals and departure, everything was handled with great kindness, making my stay very comfortable. The meals were vegetable-focused and all delicious. The room is a bit old but well-cleaned, so there were no issues. If I had to mention one thing, the entrance to the room felt slightly narrow. This is an accommodation I can recommend to others. Thank you very much for your wonderful service!

    I had a pleasant stay.

    We stayed as an elderly couple. Despite the rainy weather, the close proximity to the station was very convenient. The Facility and amenities were clean and well-maintained, leaving a positive impression. The subtle scent of incense throughout the building might not suit everyone's taste, but it showed thoughtful attention to detail. Both dinner and breakfast featured carefully selected ingredients and were delicious. While portions seemed slightly smaller and perhaps more suited for women, they were still satisfying even for men. We used the bath around 11 PM when it was practically private; it was clean, had a pleasant atmosphere with indirect lighting, and provided a relaxing experience. The semi-double bed had an air massage function which we found amusing. The staff's hospitality was excellent and well-trained. However, I would recommend not expecting much from the view outside the window.

    We stayed as a group of five women this time. Since we came by car, we were touched by the kind and attentive service, including being greeted at the parking lot and having our luggage carried for us. The room, amenities, and bath were all wonderful. The meals were delicious and health-conscious, leaving us completely satisfied.     Thank you for hosting us at the beginning of the year. We were hoping for a relaxing Onsen experience with everything taken care of, and we were extremely satisfied! The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable, attending to every detail. We left with a deep sense of satisfaction. We will definitely visit again!

    Even with this Facility and the food, it's too expensive for the New Year's holiday.

    We made a reservation for this room with an open-air bath for four adults on December 31st, in an area we planned suddenly about two months ago for the New Year holidays. It was 58,000 yen per person, but considering the facilities, meals, and the open-air bath, I thought it was inevitable due to the New Year holiday pricing, and chose a room with a bath for my mother who has difficulty walking. Since my mother is elderly, I splurged thinking it might be the last time. First, I was astonished by the exterior of the facility upon arrival. Although it was described as casual, I expected some luxury given the high ratings and the price, but it was a four-story square building. However, perhaps due to renovations, the interior was clean, and the room had decent facilities. Regarding meals, we were told at check-in that dinner time was at 18:15, which was quite early, so we had it changed to 18:45. The dinner used a lot of yuba, and the quality of the beef was so-so, but there was nothing particularly luxurious, and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't something that left a strong impression of deliciousness. Moreover, they seemed to be in a hurry to bring the meals. Even though we wanted to enjoy the meal slowly, they brought items out of order from the menu, skipping to the end, and repeatedly asked if they could bring the next dish before we finished. This wasn't just the staff, but even the proprietress seemed to follow this policy, indicating it was the ryokan's approach. The language was superficially polite, but it seemed they wanted guests out of the dining area by 20:00. There were foreign staff members, but their Japanese was too fast, which also sounded rushed. As for the room's bath, initially, I didn't notice because the window was open, but in winter, when the window was closed, the smell of chlorine filled the bathroom. I reluctantly used it, but afterward, my body felt itchy. Knowing the pre-COVID ryokan market, this price for a building like this, with an onsen that isn't even free-flowing, and no particularly good ingredients, is abnormal. From a pre-COVID perspective, I thought the limit would be at most 30,000 yen per person.

    This was my first time using Stays. The staff was very warm and courteous from the moment we were welcomed, which made me feel very comfortable. The food was also very delicious, and both dinner and breakfast were very luxurious meals.     Relax in the hot springs and enjoy the cuisine.

    As mentioned in other comments, - The onsen, both indoor and outdoor, feels somewhat small, but since there were hardly any other guests using it at the same time, it felt like a private experience. - The facilities are quite new and in a clean state. It feels like there are amenities and equipment that women would appreciate, including shower heads and hairdryers. You can choose between a yukata and samue, and you can move around the property in a yukata and slippers. - The meals are in a kaiseki style. The appearance and taste are good, and the dishes are designed to be beautiful and cute. For those who can drink alcohol, the tasting set is recommended. Both dinner and breakfast are substantial in quantity. Coffee is also available for free in the morning. - There are no facilities like karaoke, lounges, or game corners that are often found in traditional ryokan or hotels. There is a vending machine on the first floor, which might be useful if the water provided in the room runs out.

    Four women stayed in a Japanese-style room. The food was luxurious and delicious. The bathroom is small, so weekdays are recommended. It was a cute and clean Stays, and we had a pleasant stay.
