    Stay After Our Dining Venue Renovation

    There was a wide variety of buffet menu items, and I was satisfied that locally sourced ingredients were used. I arrived earlier than the Hotel check-in time of 3:00 PM and wanted to leave our luggage (excluding valuables) so I could enjoy swimming at the beach and playing with my grandchildren in the Hotel pool, but it was a little disappointing that they would not store our luggage until check-in and that we were not escorted to our Room.

    The staff were friendly and made our stay comfortable.

    There were a few minor operational issues during breakfast, but the friendly and attentive service more than made up for them, so it was not a problem at all. The Facility and staff in each section were also excellent, and this is an Accommodation I would recommend to others.

    An Annual Family Trip

    As we did last year, we stayed at Tenzui again this time. Although the dining area was under renovation, we were able to enjoy delicious meals in a separate room. Our young children also had a great time in the spacious building, and we are truly grateful to all the staff. We heard that from mid-July, a newly opened dining area will be available and the menu will be renewed as well. We’re looking forward to coming again next year! Thank you very much.

    An old building, and unfamiliar faces even upon arrival.

    Even in light rain, I had to hold my own umbrella and carry my luggage through the rain from where I parked to the Hotel entrance while being shown parking directions for two Hotels. The building is old, and there are too few staff; the cost-cutting approach is very noticeable.

    A great Hotel

    It was a spacious and impressive Hotel, with wide lounge areas and corridors. The dining venue happened to be under renovation, so there were no freshly fried tempura or freshly grilled meat like I had seen in other Reviews, which was a bit disappointing. However, the all-you-can-eat crab was excellent—plenty of delicious, meaty crab was served generously, and it was pre-scored to make it easy to eat, so I was very satisfied. The Room also had an ocean view and really impressed me. The Japanese-Western style Room layout was convenient and easy to use. There were no sweets left in the lounge when I came later on; it would be nice if they could ensure one per person—perhaps someone took more than their share.

    Always exciting

    No matter when I visit, this dinner buffet always keeps me excited. I was looking forward to it again this time, and it was wonderful—never disappointing. The most noticeable change was the breakfast. To be honest, until last time there was hardly anything I wanted to eat, but this time it was excellent. I was very satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. Did the head chef change? Bravo. I look forward to coming again.

    First Time at Kaike Onsen

    The hot water was excellent, with no strong smell, making it enjoyable to soak for a long time. The meals were also delicious. Although the glasses for alcohol felt a bit small, having the staff prepare drinks on the spot made them taste even better. As for the Room, while its age is understandable, replacing the wallpaper could enhance its overall quality. The hot water and food were great; however, when using the open-air bath before dinner, the smell of grilling meat wafted up, which was a downside. Also, smiles at the front desk are essential!

    This plan offers great value for those who don't mind a later dinner. After enjoying the sunset at Lake Shinji, we moved to Kaike and arrived around the time early groups were already starting their meals. In our rush to take a bath before dinner, we likely missed out on the lounge's coffee corner service. Later, I learned from other reviews that there was complimentary coffee and "Inaba no Shirousagi" sweets available—what a shame to have missed it! Heading to the bath, the delicious aroma of grilled meat wafted through, making us hungry. Though it was already dark outside, we could hear the sound of waves while soaking in the warm saltwater. Dinner was described as a half-buffet but felt more like a full buffet with its luxurious spread—a delightful surprise! Drinks were reasonably priced, and soft drinks were fully stocked at the buffet corner. Being on the second night of a holiday weekend, it was quite crowded initially with lines forming for popular dishes. The freshly fried tempura and grilled steak were undoubtedly delicious, and even the sashimi quality was impressive. While I couldn't identify all dishes by name (I picked many without knowing), highlights included simmered fish roe and sea snails in soy sauce-based seasoning as part of Japanese appetizers—absolutely tasty! The sesame tofu was also delightful. Whole fried fish? Delicious too! And then there were unlimited snow crab legs—though tedious to eat (yet very popular). A Western-style mushroom potage soup added variety. Three non-buffet items were served directly at our table: salted squid (perfect with rice), rice croquettes (perhaps unnecessary?), and an incredible centerpiece dish featuring crab meat packed into its shell along with outer roe and inner roe—a seasonal specialty worth traveling all this way to Tottori for! This must be what they mean by "half-buffet," offering such standout dishes alongside buffet options. There were so many choices that I couldn’t try everything but left completely satisfied nonetheless. While some reviews mentioned fewer options overall, having just a few favorite dishes made it more than enough for me—I even skipped sushi entirely! For dessert, refreshing fruits like watermelon and canned mandarin oranges hit just right after such an indulgent meal; hojicha pudding had an unexpected color resembling crab miso but tasted distinctly of roasted tea instead—deliciously unique!

    The sound is...

    The Hotel had a slightly old feel, but it was nice overall. The location was excellent, with the waves of the sea coming so close that it was quite impressive. The meals were delicious and satisfying. The bath was very nice, but there were an unpleasant amount of hairs on the floor and in the sink, making me wonder if cleaning staff might not come in often enough. The Room had a noisy refrigerator that I had to turn off to sleep; otherwise, it drowned out the soothing sound of the waves. At first, I couldn't figure out what kind of electrical noise it was, which kept me awake for a while. Additionally, early in the morning, I could clearly hear people talking loudly in the hallway from another Room—it was noisy and made me think some guests lack consideration for others as I tried to sleep through it. Still, it's a Hotel I'd like to visit again!

    This was my second stay. The facility is old but has been renovated as needed, ensuring a clean and comfortable stay. The quality of the onsen water was excellent, and the food was delicious, making it an incredible value for the price. The cocktails at the bar in the evening were also delightful, allowing me to enjoy a pleasant night.

    Please note!

    This is my second stay following last year. Last year's room was amazing, so I made a reservation again this year... but I was surprised when I entered! It was completely different. It seems there are different types of ocean-view Japanese-Western style rooms. This was my mistake for not checking carefully, but I felt a bit disappointed. There were no inconveniences during the stay, and both the meals and onsen were great, but compared to last year, it left me feeling regretful. Please make sure to check the details of the room carefully when making a reservation.

    The facility is old,...

    The facility is old, but I thought it was well-cleaned. I was attracted by the crab buffet and made a reservation. The food selection wasn't extensive, but the crab was delicious, and the freshly fried tempura was tasty. The pool was smaller than expected, so it might be enjoyable for children up to elementary school age. Customer service seemed to vary depending on the staff, but I didn't have any unpleasant experiences. In-room amenities were minimal, so it's better to bring some essentials with you. Also, most drinks in the vending machines were sold out, so it's advisable to buy beverages at a convenience store beforehand...

    A Comfortable and Enjoyable Family Trip

    It was our first time using this place for our annual family trip. We were completely satisfied with the meals, Onsen, and the Room. Additionally, we sincerely thank the young front desk staff who kindly accommodated our sudden requests after check-out, including taking photos and providing Shuttle Service. We would love to visit again.

    We stayed at Tensui again this year with our family, and we were well taken care of. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a private room, allowing us to enjoy our meals leisurely even with small children.     We stayed as a family. The service was excellent, and we were very satisfied with the meals, onsen, and room. We would love to stay again if we have the chance to visit during another trip.

    The facility is old, but the Onsen is excellent.

    The exterior and facility may not compare to the nearby sister hotel, Kasuitei, but considering the cost-performance, it feels like a great deal. The Onsen was excellent with a fantastic view and high-quality water. The food was also delicious. The view of Kaike Beach from the window was soothing, making it a wonderful trip.

    Favorite Accommodation

    Stayed again this month following last month's visit. Check-in was polite, but as a returning guest, I would prefer to skip the facility explanation. The dinner buffet was delightful, especially the steak, which I enjoyed multiple servings of. I also loved the chawanmushi. However, the sashimi was slightly disappointing this time. The bath area is spacious with perfectly warm water, allowing for a relaxing experience. For breakfast, it would be great if onsen eggs or raw eggs could be included (I believe they were available before). This is an accommodation I want to return to even after leaving. Planning my next visit in September! Thank you very much!

    The Onsen and meals were excellent.

    We made a last-minute reservation the night before and stayed as a family of four (2 adults, 2 elementary school children). The room was spacious, and although the facility was old, the tatami mats were new and clean, and the room was well-cleaned, making our stay comfortable. For dinner, we enjoyed crab even during this season, which the kids ate quietly. A staff member informed us that fresh bluefin tuna caught in Sakaiminato a few days ago was served as sashimi and sushi. The staff were very kind. Thank you very much!

    Second time

    Overall, it was good.

    At first, I was disappointed by the appearance of the building upon arrival. When I went to the room and looked out the window, I noticed deteriorating concrete, which made me concerned about safety. The elderly female staff member at the welcome drink corner was very kind. That day, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset that lifted my partner's mood, and dinner was absolutely delicious and satisfying. The Onsen was also excellent. Overall, I think this is an accommodation I'd like to visit again.

    Great value for money

    I stayed here for a solo trip. The cost was just over 10,000 yen, including Onsen access and both dinner and breakfast, making it very cost-effective. The room was the lowest grade but had a toilet and sink, providing the essentials. Dinner was partially buffet-style. Meat was being grilled in the dining area, but due to poor ventilation, it became smoky and uncomfortable. Fortunately, I was guided to a separate room away from the smoky dining area. The large public bath had an open-air Onsen with flowing water and excellent quality; however, the changing area's shelves were dusty with some trash scattered around—perhaps shorter staff members are responsible for cleaning this area.

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my wife's birthday. The room was clean and comfortable, and the large public bath with abundant hot spring water allowed us to relax. We enjoyed local Tottori cuisine such as all-you-can-eat crab, steak, and sushi. Although we planned to enjoy some drinks after dinner, it was disappointing that the lounge was closed. However, overall it was a pleasant stay, and we would love to visit again.

    Clean and Warm-Hearted Accommodation

    Spring Break Special: A great deal for kids, making it very family-friendly. Meals: The half-buffet included kid-friendly options in a bento box, allowing adults to enjoy their meals at the same pace as the children. The buffet also featured local dishes and was delicious. The steamed taro was simple yet tasty, and the sweet potato tempura was moist, sweet, and absolutely delightful. Facilities: The lobby had a luxurious atmosphere. While the room showed some age, it was well-maintained and clean with a sense of freshness. Bath: The changing area was spacious and clean. It would have been nice if there were morning-evening bath rotations like other places. Above all, the staff were incredibly friendly to children, warmly engaging with them in both the lobby and restaurant areas. Their kindness made this trip truly enjoyable. Out of all our travels so far, this accommodation left us feeling the warmest at heart. Thank you very much!

    My Regular Accommodation

    We visited in spring this time after enjoying our stay in autumn and winter. As it was the holiday season, the accommodation was bustling with many guests. With onsen, meals, and scenery all perfectly combined, we fully enjoyed a relaxing onsen experience. Once again, we savored original cocktails at the Blue Marine Lounge! Kaike is the best!

    The public bath was excellent!

    The Room was clean, and the view of the sea from the window was wonderful. The crab served at the dinner buffet was easy to eat and delicious, but the fried dishes were cold and not as enjoyable. The welcome drink service ended at 6:30 PM; it would have been better if free drinks were available a bit later.
