    Perfect for a family trip!

On our first family trip with our grandchild, we were worried about meals (since everyone is quite picky), but the wide variety of buffet options made everyone very happy. The Facility is not new by any means, but it was thoroughly cleaned and we had a very comfortable stay. The staff’s smiles were wonderful as well, and we especially recommend it for families!

    A Satisfying Summer Vacation

We were able to swim to our heart’s content in the pool, and thanks to the staff’s warm smiles, greetings, and friendly words, we had a very pleasant stay. This was our third visit, and it’s still a Hotel we want to come back to every year.

    Thank you for your c...

Thank you for your courteous responses to our inquiries even before our stay, which helped us feel at ease on the day. We stayed as a group of 12 ranging from age 2 to our 70s, and everyone—both parents and children—enjoyed the pool and play facilities. Of course, the meals were delicious as well. However, while we appreciated having a spin dryer available after using the pool, having a washer-dryer would be especially helpful for families with children (since you can use the pool on both the day of check-in and the following day). At the buffet, some dishes were served in small individual plates, which was very helpful given the limited time. With kids, it was hard to try everything without careful time management (lol). Everyone asked if we could stay here again next time, so this has become one of the Hotels we’d like to return to. Thank you again for all your help.

    It was amazing!

Thank you very much for your hospitality. This was our first family trip since losing our beloved dog, and we traveled with my elderly parents who have difficulty walking. I thought it might feel a bit sad, but everyone was so kind and had such wonderful smiles that it became a truly enjoyable trip! Our dog’s name was also Fuji, so it felt like we were meant to be here. My parents were also happy that, thanks to the walking support cart, they could choose their own dishes at the buffet. Every dish was amazing—beautifully presented and delicious. The meat was tender as well, and everyone loved it. We also enjoyed the water bar, the old-fashioned game arcade, and the souvenir shop! The bath was spacious and great, but there weren’t many handrails, so my mother seemed a little uneasy. Still, it felt wonderful. The Room was of course clean and very comfortable. We went to the pool area to take photos, and I thought it was a pleasant place for a walk. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The dinner buffet was delicious.

Located in the flat city area of the Kofu Basin, and if you call from the station, they will come to pick you up. Our Room was on the 5th floor of Bettei Miho, but perhaps due to the bad weather, we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji. The Room was cleaner than expected, with both the tatami and wallpaper in good condition. At the dinner buffet, there was a wide variety of options: fresh sashimi and sushi, tempura fried right in front of you, creative dishes that seemed to use local ingredients such as bamboo shoots, and even hot pot and ramen that you can customize yourself. There was a strict 90-minute time limit, but many of the creative dishes were things I had never seen before; there were also plenty made with premium ingredients, and everything was very delicious. The Onsen seemed well equipped with massage features such as a waterfall bath and jacuzzi jets. However, it was a bit disappointing that there wasn’t a water server—only a cold-water dispenser. Thanks to the warm and kind staff, we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

    Wow! The buffet is amazing!

We stayed here for a three-generation family trip. It has the look of a classic, old-style “Ryokan.” I felt the age of the building overall, so I deducted one star, but overall it was OK! First, the Onsen. Considering the size of the Ryokan it may be appropriate, but in any case it’s huge. They switch between men’s and women’s baths at night and in the morning, so we tried both, and both were spacious—there was never a time when all the washing stations were taken. Next, the meals. Since we had our grandchild with us, we chose the buffet Plan, and the variety, quantity, and quality were excellent. The live kitchen was especially satisfying: made-to-order nigiri sushi served fresh from the chef’s hands; filet steak grilled to order; and tempura fried to order with around 10 different ingredients. You can also cook individual hot pots at your table, but we didn’t even get around to trying everything—there was even a kamameshi station where you choose your ingredients and have rice cooked for you. There were plenty of desserts too, and our grandchild was all smiles. One small disappointment: during breakfast buffet hours one coffee machine was out of order. Luckily I managed to get some coffee, but it seemed many guests couldn’t. They also had Facilities and attractions to keep kids entertained, so the children were very happy as well. Given its location in an Onsen town area, it seems they’ve successfully shifted from being more of a Ryokan aimed at older men on group tours.

We had a great time with three generations of six people.

We stayed in Kiyosumi with six people across three generations. [What we liked] - The Room was very spacious, and even with six of us we could relax comfortably. - The bath was right next to the Room, so we could go anytime on a whim. Plus, the Room had both a hinoki bath and an open-air bath, so we really enjoyed soaking. - The meals offered a wide variety of dishes, everything tasted great, and we had no complaints. [What was disappointing] - At check-in there were too few staff at the front desk, so no one greeted us, and the explanation felt quite rushed (other service during our stay was very polite and excellent). - The Room was hot, and when we tried to adjust the air conditioning, it turned out to be centrally controlled for the whole building and wouldn’t blow cool air. Because of hay fever we couldn’t open the windows either, so it was an uncomfortably hot night. - Next to the Room is a local road; because the wooden fence is low with gaps between boards, neon signs from bars and car headlights were clearly visible. Also, voices from outside could be heard clearly from the open-air bath in the Room, which took away from the atmosphere—we wanted more of an escape from everyday life.

    The buffet meals are delicious.

The buffet meals were all delicious, including steak, tempura, and sushi, some of which were freshly prepared right in front of us—very satisfying! Although the facility is old, it was well-maintained and clean. We enjoyed playing table tennis but wished we could continue after check-out. The parking lot was far and difficult to locate; we had to get out of the car at the entrance and wait in line at the front desk to ask for directions. If there are no staff available for guidance, a signboard would be helpful. The large public bath was spacious, but the number of hairdryers felt insufficient for its size.

    I have stayed here b...

I have stayed here before. The meals are buffet-style, and since there were many guests, some items were often unavailable. They were replenished after a short wait, which was fine, but there were limited sauces and condiments. Having to inform the hotel staff each time and then go back to get them was a bit inconvenient. As for the bath, the rock-style bath at night had significant steps and few handrails at the entrance to the tub, making it challenging for elderly guests to enter and exit. The stones inside the tub were slippery—possibly due to onsen minerals—which felt a bit unsafe. The tiled bath on the following day had more handrails, manageable steps, and non-slippery tiles inside the tub, making it much more comfortable. The staff members were friendly and approachable, providing excellent service overall.

    The food was excellent.

The buffet-style meals were meticulously prepared with a sense of the season, using high-quality and abundant ingredients, which was truly impressive. Every dish was delicious. The bath was also delightful, featuring a spacious and charming bathing area with an ample supply of Onsen water, providing great satisfaction.

    A luxurious buffet as rumored

The all-you-can-eat steak, sushi, and tempura were impressive. Seasonal dishes like Matsutake mushroom soup added a nice touch, and the variety of fruits and desserts was satisfying. On the other hand, while the Room was clean, it felt outdated. The bathroom in the Room was not appealing to use; however, the public bath made up for it. It would be appreciated if towels for the public bath were provided instead of requiring guests to bring them from their Room.

    Meals (Buffet)

Breakfast was divided into two time slots: 7:00–8:00 and 8:00–9:00. We had a reservation for the 8:00–9:00 slot, but when we arrived at the venue, the staff informed us that no seats were available yet and asked us to wait. Although breakfast hours were extended past 9:00 for us to finish our meal, there wasn’t much food left, which left us a bit disappointed as we returned to our room. Being in the middle of a holiday weekend, I felt that better arrangements could have been made. By the way, dinner was decent.

    Clean and pleasant.

The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes and the taste was excellent. It would be helpful if you could consider adding French fries, which children tend to enjoy. Looking forward to staying again!

    Extremely standard.

This is a typical large-scale Onsen accommodation. Personalized service may be challenging, and it’s unrealistic to expect too much from the buffet meals. However, it can be considered comfortable for a one-night stay during your travels. The system of having breakfast in a basket to enjoy in your room was appreciated, as it allowed for a calm and relaxing morning.

The food and service exceeded expectations.

The high reviews had set my expectations, and both the food and service exceeded them. Each dish was visually appealing, of high quality, diverse, and absolutely delicious. There were so many other dishes I wanted to try, but unfortunately, I was too full to sample everything. The staff who cleared empty plates and those who took alcohol orders and delivered them to the table demonstrated exceptional hospitality that left a lasting impression. Although the air conditioning in the room was a bit noisy, I would love to stay at this hotel again.

    It was very hot.

It was a very hot day, and although the air conditioner was set to 25°C, the only available comforter was thick, like a winter duvet. Considering the season, it would have been better to provide both a thin and thick option. Unfortunately, I couldn't sleep well. Please consider this for future stays!

    The buffet is excellent.

I have stayed at this accommodation about four times, and the main reason I keep coming back is the buffet. Every time, I am amazed by the variety of dishes. I end up eating so much that it becomes a problem the next day. I enjoyed tempura and sashimi, my wife focused on sushi, grilled dishes, and small bowls, while our child loved topping handmade pizzas. The 90-minute limit is more than enough time to enjoy everything. This time, we tried the private bath and pool. The private bath requires an additional fee but offers natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source. The water quality is excellent and leaves your skin feeling smooth. The pool seemed to be available only during summer; we just made it in time to use it. It uses groundwater and was extremely cold but very refreshing since you can go straight to the large public bath afterward. We played for about an hour before heading to the bath—it was incredibly relaxing! The large public bath itself is very spacious with impressive rock baths as well. Even though there were quite a few groups using it at once, it didn’t feel crowded or stressful at all. We visit every year during grape season, and this hotel will definitely be our top choice again next year when visiting Yamanashi. Although we consider trying other hotels each year for variety, this one offers great value for its price!

Perfect for families and three generations. The staff is friendly!

We stayed at the accommodation with three generations of our family. The surroundings were filled with other families with children as well. Both the meals and the baths were excellent. The dinner buffet had an extensive variety of dishes, so much that we couldn’t try everything. Every dish was delicious, and even during a multiple night stay, we never got tired of it! Breakfast offered basic Japanese and Western options. Since it was summer, we also enjoyed the pool! The water from underground sources was cold, but the kids loved it. There were plenty of deck chairs and seats around the large pool, allowing adults to relax in a resort-like atmosphere. What left the most lasting impression was how kind all the staff members were. When we tried to inflate a float ring, several staff members immediately came over to help us. They also kindly assisted when our child lost their stamp rally sheet. Their greetings in passing made us feel very welcome. The hotel itself is an older building that shows its age; however, it is kept impeccably clean for a comfortable stay. Some areas have been renovated or updated over time, and features like carefully prepared buffet menus and a beautiful pool make you want to return again for another stay without hesitation. Overall value for money is exceptionally high as well! We would love to stay here again if given another opportunity—thank you very much for your hospitality!

    It is an old Ryokan.

I visited Isawa Onsen with high expectations, but the room was outdated and the toilet was very cramped. The toilet seat and bidet were cold, and the temperature couldn't be adjusted. I thought, "Is this worth the money I paid?" Dinner was only available at 19:30 because it was crowded. The buffet felt chaotic with long lines, and unfortunately, the food wasn't very tasty. Breakfast came in a basket with items like rice balls and miso soup; it was just okay in taste. The Onsen itself was good, but I won't be returning next time.

    Hotel for Children

Hotels with pools are rare and can be great for families with children. However, it may not be ideal for adult groups. The elevator is small, the ice machine requires a fee (which was surprising as it's uncommon), and the room facilities are outdated.

    Delicious buffet.

As the reviews said, the dinner buffet is excellent. Especially the steak, which was tender and delicious! It paired perfectly with rice. Also, the green curry was just to my taste, and I couldn't resist having seconds. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

    Buffet

Dinner was a buffet with a wide variety of dishes, and the staff's service was excellent. However, the fact that even soft drinks were charged and the taste of the food was average made the overall satisfaction level just ordinary. Since this is known as a fruit kingdom, it would have been nice to enjoy fresh peaches or grapes... or perhaps include a bottle of wine for each group... Also, considering it's an inland prefecture, seafood bowls might not be necessary. The Onsen was spacious and very relaxing. The colorful yukata provided were also lovely.

    Family Trip

We stayed as a three-generation family. From the warm welcome at the entrance, check-in, luggage assistance to the Room, dinner, bath, cheerful greetings in the hallway, stamp rally activity, breakfast, and farewell at check-out—every moment reflected the hospitality of all staff members. I would definitely recommend this place to relatives and friends. Thank you very much!

We stayed as a family. It was a very hot day, but the Room was cool and comfortable. At night, the poolside illumination seen from the Room window was beautiful. The meals were buffet-style with elaborate dishes that were delicious, though unfortunately, we couldn't try everything as we were too full. However, the layout was inconvenient as drinks were not centralized in one place, which made it troublesome to find them.

The dinner buffet had good reviews, so I chose this Hotel, and the meals exceeded my expectations. At check-in, a staff member noticed I had dried fish and kindly offered to store it in the freezer. I was deeply impressed by their thoughtfulness. I would love to visit this Hotel again.

    I had a comfortable stay!

I stayed at Bettei Mihou with my wife. The room was clean and perfect. During our stay, we were lucky to see a large rainbow as it had just stopped raining! The public bath, with its gender-swapping schedule, allowed us to fully enjoy the Onsen experience. I initially thought the sauna was only available for an extra fee, but there was also a spacious one in the public bath area—such a pleasant surprise! Meals were buffet-style for both dinner and breakfast. As someone who eats a lot, I couldn’t even try half of the dishes because there were so many options—and everything was delicious! All staff members greeted us with wonderful smiles, making our stay very pleasant. The shuttle service from the station came promptly after we called, which was very helpful. There’s also a lovely riverside path nearby that’s perfect for leisurely walks. While I’d love to give all five stars across the board, I have two requests regarding facilities: - The clock in the sauna room was broken; please repair it soon to help prevent staying too long in the sauna. - Although rinsing before entering is encouraged, there was only one bucket available for this purpose in such a large bathing area—and none near the open-air baths. It would be more convenient if each tub had at least one bucket. Because of these points, I rated four stars for baths but look forward to improvements. I will definitely return!!

I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room in the main building. The room was clean and comfortable, and the meals were delicious. The large public bath and open-air bath were also very relaxing. However, there were a few areas that felt outdated, which caught my attention. If improved, it would be an accommodation I’d love to visit again.

    The buffet is not tasty.

The reviews on IKYU were generally good, but other sites had many negative ones, so we visited with mixed feelings of expectation and concern. We stayed at Bettei Mihou as a group of five, and both the room and the service were excellent. However, the bath lacked an authentic Onsen feel, which was disappointing. Honestly, it made us question if it was really an Onsen. Although there is a gender-swapping system for the baths, one side had a light blue bottom that resembled a swimming pool, which detracted from the atmosphere. That said, it was very spacious and comfortable in that regard. The main issue was with the buffet; while there were many unique dishes not found elsewhere, none of them stood out in terms of taste. The tempura station where you could order specific ingredients to be fried fresh and the steak available via exchange tickets were delicious; however, everything else felt underwhelming. Unfortunately for us, we won’t be revisiting this place again.

    Highly satisfied.

Every year, we only admired the peach orchards from the highway on our way back from cherry blossom viewing in Nagano. This time, we decided to get off the highway and take our time by staying at Isawa Onsen. We chose Hotel Fuji on IKYU.com based on its great reviews, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. Our room was on a high floor with a view of various hotels and even snow-capped distant mountains, which was delightful. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, and as light eaters, my spouse and I were able to select items that suited our tastes perfectly—very satisfying! Above all, the staff members, including those in charge of cleaning, were incredibly kind and provided excellent service. Thanks to them, we had a relaxing stay. Since we checked in early, I left my napping husband behind and tried solo karaoke for an hour at ¥880—a new hobby I've recently started. The staff kindly guided me to a luxurious room where I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was fantastic!
