    The experience was the worst!!

    Arrived around 5:30 PM, but only one hotel staff came out despite us being a group of four (two couples) with quite a lot of luggage. There wasn’t even a single cart available, and while the staff carried only some light luggage to the front desk, we had to carry most of it ourselves. It was disappointing. What upset us even more was that at the front desk, another staff member handed over the key and carried just some light items without preparing any cart for our heavy luggage. We ended up carrying everything to the room ourselves. I couldn’t believe such a hotel exists. The room had very few 100V outlets, and when I requested a power strip, they told me to "come pick it up at the front desk." Hearing this again left me speechless. Are there not enough staff? Or are they too few in number? Despite charging nearly 20,000 yen per person, their service was terrible. I will never stay here again—though the food was good—it’s truly unfortunate. As we stayed as two couples (four people), and since I made the reservation myself, it left me feeling embarrassed in front of everyone else. While I always use IKYU.com for reservations, having hotels like this listed is disappointing as a user. It might be better to either exclude them or provide proper training for their staff.

    The quality of the Onsen is excellent.

    Izu Atagawa Onsen was a delightful visit after a long time. Upon arriving at Atagawa Station via the Odoriko train and purchasing souvenirs, I missed the Shuttle Service, but they promptly came back to pick me up. The Room's private open-air bath offered a great view and perfect temperature, which I enjoyed multiple times. The large public bath alternates between men and women daily, featuring various tubs that were highly satisfying. The rooftop has an open-air bath and footbath, providing an incredibly relaxing experience. There is also a bar where you can enjoy stargazing, though it was closed on this occasion. Women can choose from colorful yukatas for their stay. The staff attending to my Room was very kind and quickly replaced the yukata sizes as needed. A basket for towels was provided for convenience as well. Both dinner and breakfast were served in private rooms at the restaurant, with every dish being delicious—especially the simmered kinmedai (golden eye snapper), which became my favorite. The sake tasting set was also excellent. The shop in the lobby operates 24 hours unattended (alcohol purchases are time-restricted). Additionally, there is a convenient store right across from the Hotel. I enjoyed my stay so much that I look forward to visiting again soon!

    This was the best ex...

    This was the best experience I've had around the Izu area. The variety of baths was enjoyable, and the open-air bath with a view of the sea was stunning. I was also delighted to find bottled milk, which has become rare recently. Above all, dinner was luxurious and filling, leaving me completely satisfied. Breakfast was nutritious and delicious, making for a perfect start to the day. Although there were moments when I couldn't fully understand the intonation of foreign staff during meal service, they were polite and it wasn't a major issue. On the other hand, I found it more concerning that an older Japanese staff member gave vague answers about the large bath's view and that a male Japanese front desk staff member at checkout left a poor impression with his attitude. However, these minor issues were outweighed by the excellent meals and baths. I won't be able to visit this year due to my busy schedule but plan to stay here again in Izu from next year onward!

    Excellent value for money

    This is a solo trip. I usually stay in accommodations with rooms featuring open-air baths and in-room dining or private dining options. However, as in-room dining often takes time for serving, I chose this hotel because it has various baths in the large public bath area and the restaurant is well-sectioned according to their website. I made a reservation with an upgraded dinner plan. Although the slope from Atagawa Station is steep, it’s walkable. There’s also a convenience store across the road. Except for my impression of the front desk during check-in, everything was great. The room was a spacious Japanese-style room, and while I upgraded my dinner plan, its quality and quantity exceeded its price value. Breakfast was simple but delicious (the dried fish was thickly cut, and the miso soup had plenty of ingredients like pork soup—absolutely fantastic). Most importantly, having dinner alone in a private dining room allowed me to relax completely. There’s also an observatory bath on the rooftop with great views; however, I used one of the lower-level baths that had washing areas available. It featured two open-air baths as well as multiple indoor tubs with very few people around—making up for not having an open-air bath attached to my room! In addition to morning rotations where women can enjoy thoughtfully designed bathing facilities tailored specifically for them—it truly stood out! Lockers equipped with keys are provided at these facilities ensuring safety. I particularly enjoyed using high-performance massage chairs free-of-charge here too! Having stayed monthly at more expensive accommodations across both Hakone & Izu regions previously—I found this hotel offers exceptional cost performance overall compared against others tried before now! Dinner especially held tremendous value beyond what you'd expect given accommodation pricing itself—and honestly deserves top points among all stays booked via IKYU thus far!! So much so—I’ve already reserved again come April & May!!

    Very good

    Thanks to the kind service at Atagawa Prince, this trip became a wonderful memory. The Onsen was amazing! I'm enjoying the afterglow at home with the Onsen bath salts I purchased from the Hotel's shop. The Onsen and the calm, charming town were truly soothing. I would love to visit again!

    The meals and baths are excellent.

    The building is old, but it is well-cleaned and has a sense of cleanliness. Dinner was exquisite. A series of delicately flavored dishes from appetizers to desserts were served, leaving us very satisfied. The splendid dish was especially the golden eye snapper. Breakfast was also healthy and delicious with miso soup full of ingredients. The service during meals was very polite and pleasant. The baths are well-equipped with an open-air bath, cypress bath, rooftop open-air bath, footbath, and more. I had a very pleasant stay.

    Overall satisfied, but just a little concerned about the meals.

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. The age of the Facility was not particularly concerning, and although various improvements have been made, it felt well-constructed. The Onsen was especially excellent, with unique options like an open-air bath overlooking the sea and a mandarin bath that were very enjoyable. As expected from Atagawa, the Onsen was the best part. One point of concern was the meals. The taste and quantity were not bad at all, but despite being advertised as a golden course featuring spiny lobster, abalone, and alfonsino, on both days there was only one bite of spiny lobster meat with lavishly displayed shells. I appreciated that they changed the menu properly on the second day of my Multiple Night Stay; however, despite being on the same golden course plan as day one, there was no abalone... Overall it wasn't bad; perhaps changing those aspects to more honest descriptions might actually increase customer satisfaction? That's what I thought. Since I visited for workation purposes and declined Room cleaning to work undisturbed in my Room; however they kindly placed additional towels and amenities outside my door or provided water for pots in Rooms which were nice touches! Personally speaking having instant coffee instead of tea packs in Rooms would have been great! From other Reviews too it seemed like many rated this place 4 stars - indeed it felt like a 4-star Hotel!

    We went to see the K...

    We went to see the Kawazu cherry blossoms as a couple and stayed at the Property. Unfortunately, the cherry blossoms were not in full bloom this year, but we were able to relax and unwind at the Hotel. From the hospitality we received upon arriving at the parking lot to being guided to our Room, it was pleasant service. The Room was spacious with barrier-free access, and the view was fantastic. The Onsen was the best part! Every bath had a truly beautiful view of the sea from the open-air bath. The meals were visually enjoyable, delicious, and could be leisurely enjoyed in a semi-private room. We already plan to visit again next year for a Kawazu cherry blossom revenge trip, so we would love to stay again at this Property.

    A Trip for Two Grandmas

    The day of the first snow in Izu It was cold, but the many Onsen were warm and especially the meals were excellent! The kinmedai was cooked to perfection, the sashimi was incredibly fresh, and each item on the hassun had a touch of heart! I definitely want to visit again! Thank you very much!

    Stays with Babies

    We stayed as a family with our 1-year and 1-month-old baby in mid-February 2025. It was very nice. In particular, we were very impressed by the service of the staff at the dining area. During dinner, there were two dishes that required cooking at the table, so we asked if they could be pre-cooked in the kitchen. Although initially puzzled, they quickly agreed and brought us the cooked dishes. Furthermore, during breakfast the next day, before we even asked, they had already prepared grilled horse mackerel and rice that would normally be cooked at the table and served them to us. We were deeply touched by this thoughtfulness. This level of service likely required cooperation from both our server and kitchen staff. Both my spouse and I were very pleased. As for our baby's meal, we handed over some retort baby food to be warmed up in a microwave by one of their staff members. One concern during our stay was that it took quite a while for hot water (from taps) to become warm in both public baths and private rooms' bathrooms. It was especially disappointing not being able to use warm water in public baths during mornings. Nevertheless, there was a great variety of baths available which made them wonderful overall. We would love to stay again!

    The front desk and the person who guided us to the room were very courteous, and the food was delicious, making it a great trip for a refreshing change after a long time. I would like to stay again when I visit Izu! I'm glad I chose Atagawa Prince Hotel.

    It was a luxurious and clean Hotel.

    The facility was impressive and felt luxurious and clean, which is rare for a regional hotel. For meals, we ordered the classic Kinmedai, steamed abalone, and a full course of Ise lobster, each prepared with care and comparable to a first-class restaurant. Despite this, the price was quite reasonable. Overall, the food was good, but sometimes simpler preparation might be better. The Ise lobster was baked with breadcrumbs, but honestly, I would have preferred it as raw sashimi. The Kinmedai was lightly seasoned, suitable for us older folks, but I was expecting the classic rich and thick flavor, so it was a bit lacking. Breakfast was just the right amount, but if I had to say, because of the small portions and variety, the omelet was too small, and I would have liked a classic Onsen egg, typical of a hot spring area. It was unusual that coffee and juice were not included and were charged separately (coffee was 400 yen per cup), which is rare for a breakfast menu these days. The menu content might need reconsideration. The staff's service was attentive, and the shuttle service was excellent. The large public bath was wonderful as a facility, but the manners of certain Asian guests staying with no meals included were poor, talking loudly and causing discomfort. In the guest room, due to a power outage by Tokyo Electric Power the previous day, we couldn't watch digital TV broadcasts (BS was fine), and after changing rooms, it took quite a while for the room to warm up, among other small troubles. The staff worked hard to help us sleep comfortably, which was appreciated. However, I felt that a word of greeting from the hotel management at checkout would have been nice. Overall, it was a commendable hotel that I could recommend to others, with good staff service and a price that felt reasonable compared to the meal content, but there were also disappointing aspects, making it difficult to evaluate. From a customer satisfaction perspective, management-level considerations, such as a policy for selecting specific foreign customers, might be a challenge.

    Family Trip

    The meal, especially the simmered golden eye snapper, was very delicious. Unfortunately, I left some rice. The Room's air conditioning was hot. The bath was lukewarm. The open-air bath was good.

    Open-air bath, meals, Room, the best!

    It was a comfort trip during my battle with illness, and I was grateful to my family. We enjoyed harmonious family time, were impressed by the variety and deliciousness of the meals, and the scenery and open-air bath were superb. The staff's hospitality was also kind. I would love to visit again.

    Natural hot spring flowing directly from the source

    With an abundant flow of natural hot spring water, I enjoyed the open-air bath while gazing at the stars at night and the sea during the day. Although the interior is old, thoughtful touches can be felt throughout. The meals were served in a luxurious private room and were delicious. I was able to focus on work while traveling from Tokyo on the Odoriko train, and there were no downsides in terms of cost performance. If I had to mention something, I think a 10 a.m. checkout is a bit early these days.
