    Scenery Only

    When I stayed here 6 years ago, I had no issues, but after this visit, I don't think I'll use this Hotel again. First, we arrived at 1:40 PM and wanted to eat something, but the restaurant was closed. It made me wonder how the people playing in the pool were managing their lunch. On our last day, we returned from Hatenohama at noon and arrived back at the Hotel by 12 PM. However, we were told that even with an extension, check-out time could only be extended until 12 PM. We couldn't use our Room anymore and had to rinse off in the poolside shower and change clothes in the restroom. It would have been very helpful if they could extend check-out by just 30 minutes until 12:30 PM, but that wasn't possible either—it felt like everything was arranged solely for the convenience of the Hotel. Since it wasn’t relaxing to stay at the Hotel any longer, we decided to take an earlier flight and leave Kumejima Island sooner than planned.

    A disappointing Hotel with a significant difference from the advertisement and an unsatisfactory price.

    Price and Expectation Gap This accommodation in Kumejima falls into the higher price range, costing approximately 35,000 yen per night, comparable to mid-to-high-end resorts. Advertised as "Kumejima's Best," "On the Beach," and "Top-Class," we expected a stay that matched the price, but the reality was far from it. Discrepancy with Renovation Information The official website stated that rooms were renovated in 2023; however, staff explained there had been no updates since pre-COVID renovations. This misleading information caused significant misunderstanding. As someone with asthma, I would have avoided staying here if I had known there were no recent renovations. Room Condition The floors were extremely dirty—white socks turned black after walking on them. There were numerous damages and stains on walls and ceilings, showing clear signs of aging. The hallways resembled an old school building—dimly lit and unpleasant to walk through. Toilet and Water Issues Toilet paper was provided in minimal amounts without replacements available when needed. The toilet would not stop flushing after use; despite requesting repairs, no action was taken. Bed and Amenities Concerns The bed was excessively hard; although we requested an additional mattress for comfort, only a blanket was provided instead. Air purifiers or fans were linked to light switches—turning off lights rendered these devices unusable. Service Issues at Check-In Upon arrival, there were no staff members available to assist with luggage. A long line formed at reception due to understaffing or inefficiency during check-in. Pool Conditions & Hygiene Concerns By evening time nobody used their pool facilities anymore because temperatures exceeded over forty degrees Celsius according nearby pool-staff reports . Metal handrails/ladder surfaces became untouchably hot too! Towels rentals costed extra ¥100 fee yet lacked proper warnings beforehand explaining such extreme heat risks involved alongside stagnant non-circulating water resembling pond-like state devoid effective chlorine treatments raising serious health/safety concerns overall . Welcome Drink Disappointment Only jasmine tea served inside disposable paper cups offered upon checking-in lacking alternative beverage options nor resting area guidance felt underwhelming experience altogether . Other Services Including Breakfast Quality Feedbacks: Breakfast itself neither stood-out positively nor negatively speaking yet fell short expectations compared promotional claims promising exceptional services leaving much desired improvements behind ultimately disappointing outcome overall . If this hotel represents top-tier accommodations within Kumejima region then reconsidering future travel plans avoiding said destination entirely seems likely conclusion moving forward .
