    I was very satisfied, especially with the meals and the large public bath.

    Rather than cutting costs with all-inclusive plans or a dinner buffet, they maintain a kaiseki-style course where each dish is served individually, which I really appreciated. I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of two nights, and was satisfied with both dinners (quality, portion size, and staff service). Breakfast is buffet-style, but there was a wide enough selection of dishes and it was also very satisfying. The large public bath offered wonderful views of Sakurajima, and the open-air bath’s nighttime tree lighting was especially memorable. Both baths—and the changing areas—felt new and very clean. The building itself may be old, but it is well maintained, and the staff (both Japanese and international) were consistently professional. It was a Hotel stay that truly felt “worth it.”

    Excellent

    I stay here every year and am satisfied every time. The service is excellent, and I’m impressed by how attentive the staff are. In particular, I was surprised at how well the international staff speak Japanese. I plan to stay again at the end of the year. Thank you in advance.

    The bath and meals w...

    The bath and meals were outstanding. If I travel to Kagoshima again, I would like to stay here again. The Onsen was excellent—even the shower water was Onsen—and everything felt very clean. The meals featured many local specialties and were extremely delicious. Not only the flavors but also the presentation was stylish, which made dining a real pleasure. As for the Facility, the Room I stayed in was clean, but it was a bit far from the front desk and required using stairs to get around, which can be difficult if you have large luggage such as a suitcase.

    Traveling with my elderly mother

    It was our first sightseeing Hotel in a long time, traveling with my mother who had been hospitalized for an extended period. She uses a wheelchair, but getting around was smooth, and the staff guided us to our Room very kindly. The foreign male staff member at reception was especially wonderful—his smile and guidance were excellent. The Room also had an open-air bath, so my mother could relax and enjoy it at her own pace. Dinner exceeded our expectations in both portion size and taste—it was much better than we’ve had before. The service from both the Japanese and Vietnamese staff was also excellent. One issue was that the comforter on the bed in the Room was a thick winter down duvet, which felt too hot to sleep comfortably, and I woke up many times during the night. I think a summer option would be better. Breakfast was delicious as well, and overall everything offered great value for money—I’d like to come again. All of the employees had warm smiles. We usually travel out of the prefecture for Hotels, but if there’s such a good Hotel this close by, I want to tell everyone about it instead. Thank you very much.

    Great value for money.

    I stayed one night in Kirishima with dinner and breakfast included. The pork shabu-shabu dinner was delicious, and I appreciated that the dishes were served at a pace that matched how quickly I ate. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and I was very satisfied. There are two large Onsen baths, both spacious and relaxing. The building felt a bit old, but I was very happy with the meals and the Onsen.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    It was my first time in a while staying at this Accommodation. This time, the Room had a free-flowing Onsen bath, and with the large public bath as well, I was able to enjoy many baths—truly an Onsen-filled stay. The meals were delicious, and a woman who had come from overseas for training was very friendly and attentive, which made dining even more pleasant. However, it was raining heavily at check-in, so I felt a little disappointed that no one came out to greet me with an umbrella.

    An Accommodation nestled in Kirishima’s great natural surroundings, where you can soothe body and mind in natural hot spring waters.

    We stayed at Kirishima Kanko Hotel to catch a break in the rainy season. The building exterior feels a bit dated, but we stayed in the renovated South Wing 5th-floor guest Room, the [LAKA Premium] Japanese-Western style Room with an open-air bath. The interior was truly luxurious—spacious, spotless, and wonderfully airy. An aroma candle was lit to coincide with check-in, and its fragrance blended beautifully with the view outside and the atmosphere of the Room. The welcome that engaged all five senses felt like genuine hospitality and was outstanding. From the large windows, we enjoyed a sweeping view of Kinko Bay and majestic Sakurajima—an exceptional panorama that perfectly matched the word “luxury.” What stood out most was not only the in-Room open-air bath, but also that even the shower runs Onsen water—an indulgent touch. The sulfur scent is irresistible for Onsen lovers. We fully enjoyed an Onsen-focused stay within the property: the South Wing open-air bath, the top-floor panoramic bath, the sauna, and a rustic courtyard footbath. The water temperature was slightly on the cooler side overall, but that made it easy to soak slowly for longer; if you prefer hotter water, it was also nice to be able to adjust the temperature in your in-Room Onsen. Dinner featured beef and pork shabu-shabu as the main dish, and both flavor and portion size were very satisfying. Many staff members were international employees; at times their mannerisms and service felt a little new or tentative, but their sincere efforts left a positive impression. If anything, seeing a few more smiles might have made our stay even more comfortable. Even so, this Hotel is a place that lets you fully enjoy Kirishima’s superb Onsen waters and scenery—and it’s somewhere we would gladly choose again for sightseeing or hiking in Kirishima.

    It was great.

    We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, so we could bathe anytime without worrying and truly enjoyed the Onsen. All of the food was delicious as well. On the day of checkout, unfortunately it coincided with two typhoons, but the front desk staff kindly explained road conditions and other information, and we were able to get home safely.

    Both the bath and the meals were excellent.

    Both the baths and the meals were excellent. I used both bath areas, in the Main Building and the South Building. Dinner was brought out one dish at a time and was very delicious. In the morning, breakfast was buffet-style, and a group of foreign guests was a bit noisy. Overall I was satisfied, but since I stayed in the South Building, using the stairs was difficult for me due to a chronic condition. Moving to the baths and dining area was somewhat uncomfortable. Also, unfortunately, the weather was bad and I couldn’t see any of the outdoor scenery at all.

    A Kirishima getaway with Miyama Kirishima blooms, Onsen, and delicious cuisine

    Sakurajima was directly in front of us from the Room—an unbeatable location. The view from the open-air bath attached to the Room was pure bliss. The Room was also kept clean and tidy, making our stay very comfortable. The outdoor panoramic large public bath and the open-air bath on the lower level each had their own charm and were wonderful as well. Both dinner and breakfast were truly satisfying, with a great selection of dishes that looked beautiful and tasted excellent. This is an Accommodation we would love to return to. Lastly, we were very happy with the kind service at the dining venue from the young female staff members from overseas, who assisted us warmly in excellent Japanese.

    The Onsen and meals are excellent.

    We’ve been returning for the past few years because we love the Onsen and the delicious meals. The Room we reserved this time felt a bit dated, but it was well cleaned, and the open-air bath was excellent.

    The Onsen was the be...

    The Onsen was the best part. I wanted to take my time using the barrel-shaped sauna by the open-air bath, but I prioritized the Onsen instead. The meals were quite generous for us. We stayed as a family, and your flexible support after listening to our situation was a great help. Thank you very much. I didn’t realize there was a bunny in the garden!

    We were very satisfied with the meals and the Onsen. This time, my wife was not doing well with her legs, and you prepared a wheelchair for us. As for the elevator, we had to move around a bit to get there, but it was very helpful. We will stay again.

    High-quality dining experience

    The dining quality is exceptionally high for the Accommodation Fee, and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in Kirishima Onsen. Dinner made a strong impression from the appetizers onward, and not only were the main dishes excellent, but even the pickles were outstanding. The breakfast buffet offers not just a wide variety, but every item is delicious—you’ll want to try them all.

    Scenic View Bath

    Sakurajima can be seen from the 4th-floor panoramic bath, and we were able to watch the sunset in the evening. The Kurobuta pork dashi shabu-shabu was also delicious, and I think the price is reasonable. However, to get from the South Wing to the Central Wing, there are only stairs, so I wished there were an escalator.

    The teacup provided ...

    The teacup provided in the room was dirty, with what seemed like food residue stuck at the bottom, which is unacceptable for guest preparation. Additionally, the door of the room did not seem to close properly, making it difficult to lock. This might have caused the room to feel very cold (even with heating on, it didn’t warm up much). The food and Onsen were excellent.

    It was a very pleasant stay.

    The price was very reasonable, so I visited with moderate expectations, but the food was delicious, and I had a very satisfying stay. You carry your own luggage, and there are stairs without an elevator, which might not suit everyone. However, it has become one of my favorite accommodations that I would love to revisit.

    The two staff member...

    The two staff members who served us were very pleasant and attentive! The dishes were perfectly seasoned, and we enjoyed them so much that we finished everything. The Room and Onsen were clean and well-maintained, leaving us completely satisfied! We will definitely be back.

    Sakurajima

    We stayed as a group of five, including my elderly father, sister, brother, and daughter. The room was on the 3rd floor of the North Wing. It was spacious enough, with Simmons beds and Nishikawa pressure-free futons that provided an excellent night's sleep. The Onsen had a sulfur scent and left our skin feeling smooth and refreshed. The meals were delicious, and we finished everything. Even my elderly father found the food easy to eat and was very satisfied with it.

    Annex transfer can be challenging.

    After check-in, the Room was in a separate building accessible only by stairs, which were quite numerous, making it difficult to carry suitcases. A slope would have been appreciated. The staff seemed expressionless and did not leave a very good impression. The observation bath was spacious with great views. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of options.

    Delicious cuisine! Be amazed by the stunning large public bath and the open-air hot spring!

    Thank you for your hospitality. This was our first stay, and my family and I stayed for one night. Although we got lost on the way and arrived much later than planned, we were warmly welcomed with kind smiles and flexible service. Above all, the dinner we had after arriving was exceptional. The dishes were refined, allowing us to enjoy both seafood and mountain delicacies. The Kagoshima black pork shabu-shabu and roast beef were outstanding. From the rice, miso soup to dessert at the end, everything was perfect. There was also a wide variety of alcoholic beverages to choose from, which made it enjoyable. Breakfast was equally delightful. In a bright and open dining area filled with sunlight, there were many options available. The minced meat miso stood out as particularly delicious; I created my own original seafood bowl by topping rice with tuna, whitebait fish, grated radish, and minced meat miso. And of course—the bath! While outdoor baths sometimes give an impression of lacking cleanliness (though this is just my personal bias), this one was very clean, spacious, and absolutely wonderful. The changing room was well-maintained as well; even the hairdryers provided were high-quality—everything exceeded expectations! With operating hours starting early in the morning until late at night, it allowed plenty of time to enjoy. To be honest (and I apologize for saying so), I initially imagined an old ryokan before visiting—but upon arrival found that while everything inside is beautifully maintained without feeling overly formal or intimidatingly luxurious—it struck just the right balance between comfort & elegance making everyone feel welcome including myself but most importantly leaving both parents extremely satisfied too! They’ve already expressed wanting another visit soon... This experience brought immense happiness overall—thank you so much again! (Of course not forgetting how spotless/comfortable our room itself felt—from its sink area size down through fridge capacity alongside thoughtful glassware provisions—all impeccable!)

    Breakfast only

    Arrived at 10:30 PM via a detour from Kagoshima Airport... It was great to relax in the Onsen until midnight. Breakfast at 8:30 AM was amazing with so many dishes! I tried a little bit of everything. Even after checking out past noon, I still wasn’t hungry... Overall, it was delicious and very satisfying.

    The Onsen

    We thoroughly enjoyed the high-quality Onsen, which exceeded our expectations. The meals were carefully prepared using local ingredients, making them a delight to savor. However, moving between the main building and the south wing was only possible via stairs, which seemed somewhat challenging for elderly guests with mobility issues. It might be due to ongoing renovations.

    The food was excellent.

    I stayed on a weekday, so unfortunately, the café within the facility was closed. The accommodation has three buildings, and my room had an open-air bath, so I didn’t use the public bath. However, the layout is a bit complex and could be confusing to navigate. Also, there are many stairs in frequently used areas, which might be challenging for those with mobility issues or carrying luggage. The room was newly renovated and featured an open-air bath with a view of Sakurajima. It was nice but lacked an indoor bathtub or shower; instead, it had a glass-enclosed shower booth that might feel awkward if staying with friends or family. Although it was sunny during my stay, clouds obscured Sakurajima’s view most of the time. If there’s a price difference for rooms with this view, it may not be worth prioritizing. The food combined Japanese and Western styles and was delicious! However, there were perhaps too many dishes served... The roast beef, lobster spring rolls, wakame seaweed & shijimi clam dumplings in soup stock (shinjō), and desserts were particularly memorable. More than half of the staff were from overseas but provided attentive service with great effort and care—making for a pleasant stay overall!

    I was surprised that...

    I was surprised that the toilet in the room was operated by a lever, but despite its age, the bathroom pipes and unit bath were dirty (though I believe they were cleaned). My husband, who is one month post-surgery on his foot, was worried about infections and planned to use the room's bath instead of the public bath. However, it felt unpleasant, so he couldn't use it. We used a discount for a 43,000 yen plan, but if there had been photos of this unit bath on the website, we would never have made the reservation. (The reviews were all positive, so we were looking forward to our stay.) Is this type of room typical for this price range? To get from reception to our room with suitcases required going up and down stairs (even at checkout), which was difficult as I also have back pain. I regret not choosing a more expensive room. Having traveled dozens of times before, this is the first time I've been so disappointed with a room. At least please improve that unit bath or include proper photos of it in your listings so guests can make informed reservations.

    It was an accommodation that I was satisfied with after a long time.

    The room is spacious and stylish. However, one drawback is that the private open-air bath and the washroom are separated, which was inconvenient. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were excellent. It was a very satisfying accommodation where I could fully refresh myself.

    Sakurajima Eruption & Rainy Season

    Although the weather was not favorable due to the coincidence of the Sakurajima eruption and the rainy season, we were very satisfied with the Onsen and meals. The Facility is spacious, so some walking is inevitable, but it might be a bit confusing for international travelers. We deeply appreciate the efforts of overseas staff who are working hard and studying Japanese diligently despite the shortage of Japanese workers in various industries. We would love to stay again if we have another opportunity.

    The public bath was excellent.

    Stayed for 2 nights during Golden Week. The renovated room with the bed was nice, but the toilet, bath, and sink were all in one small space, and the renovation was disappointing. The toilet paper was too thin, and every light switch had a "Save Electricity" sign on it, which dampened the mood. As for meals, perhaps due to the large number of guests, dishes were served one after another without much time to relax. However, the food on the second day was good. Considering Golden Week prices, my review is critical; however, at regular prices, I think it would be satisfactory.
