    I felt relaxed.

I believe it was a great accommodation where I could relax as expected. The bath, hospitality, lounge, flower arrangement service, night tour, library, the variety of items in the shop, and above all, the wonderful view from the room and the sound of the river. The overall attention to detail might be what reflects its high ratings. The food might have been the only aspect that fell slightly below expectations. While it was delicious enough that it would be rude to complain, there wasn’t a dish that left a lasting impression.

    The Perfect Solo Trip

I stayed for one night on a solo trip. It is a calm and somewhat nostalgic accommodation. The room was spacious, and above all, the view full of greenery right in front was very soothing. Meals were served in the room both in the morning and evening, allowing me to enjoy them at my own pace, and the staff's service was at a comfortable distance that made it relaxing. The bath was clean and thoughtfully arranged, providing an enjoyable experience—thank you very much. The only concern was that the smoking area near the entrance allowed smoke to spread even if just one person smoked, which I found unpleasant. I would like to visit again with my family next time.

An accommodation where you can truly relax.

From the moment I made the reservation, I was filled with anticipation, and this wonderful accommodation did not disappoint. During the lush green season, both the garden and surrounding mountains were beautifully verdant. The large windows in the room offered a private view of this stunning scenery. The garden had hot water available all day for tea whenever you like, and art was displayed in both the salon and garden—simply delightful. The meals were satisfying as well. Since dining is served in-room, you can enjoy your meal while relaxing as if at home. The onsen is small but clean, with soothing water that left me feeling warm and relaxed; even my shoulder tension eased away gently. It's easy to see why there are so many regular guests here. I'd love to visit again during a different season!

    Perfect for solo travelers!

I visited for a solo trip as I couldn't take a break during the busy months of June and July. The single room was perfectly sized and comfortable, surrounded by greenery that was very soothing—I even took a nap. I enjoyed the Onsen, meals, and the night tour. As an art lover, I also appreciated the artwork displayed throughout the facility. Checking in at 2 PM, my one-night stay flew by quickly. It would be great if there were a 2-night, 3-day Plan with different meal options. I'll definitely visit again!

First Visit in a Year (Celebrating the First Meal Ceremony)

We visited this accommodation last year because it offers in-room dining, which is convenient for families with small children. At that time, we were impressed by the excellent onsen, delicious meals, and the comfort of in-room dining for families with young kids, so we decided to return. This time, we brought our 4-month-old baby and requested an additional "Okuizome" meal set for the baby. The early check-in time at 2 PM was a great feature (arriving after 3 PM felt like a waste). Walking along the Naka River was enjoyable, as was relaxing in the onsen and trying out the stone sauna. After unwinding, we looked forward to dinner served in our room. The meals are not overly extravagant but are always flavorful dishes that highlight the natural taste of ingredients. The rice is especially delicious—we always finish every grain from the serving pot. The tap water in the room is drinkable and tastes wonderful as well. Our room this time was on the second floor; I imagine guests below might have been disturbed by footsteps since we had a lively 3-year-old with us—apologies if that caused any inconvenience. The surroundings were very quiet except for the soothing sound of the river, allowing us to rest peacefully. In the morning, we enjoyed an early bath together with no issues even for our infant. Breakfast featured hearty dishes similar to dinner—miso soup, rice, grated yam (tororo), and other energizing items that left us feeling refreshed. Although it had been quite some time since our first visit here (this being our second), it seemed like everyone remembered us! They warmly interacted with our 3-year-old and congratulated us on our new baby. We had such a fulfilling weekend thanks to their hospitality. Our 3-year-old said they really want to come back again—that's probably one of the best compliments! We look forward to visiting again soon—thank you very much!

I had a wonderful time forgetting about everyday life.

The spacious bath, available anytime, was fantastic. The meal in the Room was also excellent. On Children's Day, there was a special iris bath, and Kashiwa Mochi was served as a complimentary treat. I will visit again. Thank you very much!

There are both excellent aspects and areas for improvement...

The review was so good that my expectations might have been set too high. The bath was excellent (especially the open-air bath. If the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, it would be truly amazing). The quality of the spring water seemed to suit me well. The library's selection, interior decorations, and tableware perfectly matched my love for folk crafts. The meals were seasoned to bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients, and some dishes were so delicious that I couldn't help but exclaim upon tasting them. However, there were stink bugs... While the staff quickly handled them when spotted, I still felt tense every time I walked down the hallway and couldn't fully relax after encountering one in my room (it's understandable given the rich natural surroundings, but those who dislike insects should take note). Also, while this may partly be due to my unusual surname pronunciation, it was my first experience where no one got it right from start to finish during a stay (I eventually gave up). Additionally, the scent of shampoo, conditioner, and body soap is quite unique and might not suit everyone's taste.

    I had a relaxing time.

I visited an accommodation I had been curious about due to its reviews. The best part was that everything could be done in the room, except for going to the onsen, allowing me to enjoy a long-awaited chat with an old friend. The staff were very friendly and approachable, which made the stay even more pleasant. If I may make a small request, it would be great if the shuttle service were complimentary; it might encourage more frequent visits from guests like me who no longer drive. Despite this, it was an accommodation I would love to visit again!

    Relaxing Solo Trip

Traveling alone for a long-distance sightseeing trip is nice, but I also enjoy a relaxing solo trip nearby. However, it's often difficult to find a Ryokan with Onsen that accommodates solo travelers, so I learned about this place through a Review and decided to visit. Listening to conversations at the Shuttle Service and front desk, I realized that there are indeed many repeat visitors. The Room, which was originally a twin, was converted for single use, making it spacious and allowing me to relax comfortably. I usually don't mind dining alone, so I wasn't particular about in-room dining, but it was indeed nice. The staff maintained a perfect distance, making it a great choice for a first solo trip. I was a bit surprised by the stink bugs that appeared out of nowhere, but I managed to handle them with the extermination set provided in the Room. Being an old building, I thought noise might be an issue, but it was very quiet that day, and I slept soundly. It was a Property that made me want to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Perfect for solo travelers

This is a property I want to visit at least once a year. When I'm not feeling well, I come here to relax. I visited for the first time on a snowy day. The open-air bath with a view of the snow was fantastic. I end up forgetting the time and soaking for a long time.

The open-air cypress bath is exceptional.

I had a Multiple Night Stay, and the food was delicious, the Onsen water temperature was perfect, and I had a very pleasant time. When I informed them in advance that I am not fond of marbled beef, they kindly changed the hot pot to yudofu. The staff's service was also excellent.

    Mochitsuki

Coincidentally, on the day of our departure, a mochi-pounding event was held in the snow. I was deeply moved by the sight of the staff, whom I had seen during check-in and meal service, wholeheartedly pounding the mochi. The meals were delicious and more than sufficient for me. The baths were fortunately always available whenever I wanted to use them. As someone in the same industry, I am especially impressed by the consistently polite and attentive service that is not overdone. I hope to have the opportunity to visit again. Thank you for the healing experience.

The luggage that the staff of the Property was supposed to unload from the Shuttle Service taxi was lost, and upon checking, it was mistakenly taken to another guest. Since it was a bag without any locks, it was very unpleasant.

    A flawless Stays!

The staff at the Stays were very polite and greeted us warmly, and the meals were well-prepared and all delicious! The bath was clean and close to the Room, so I enjoyed it several times. It was very warming for the body and relieved my fatigue. The attentive hospitality was very pleasing!

    Stays on January 2nd

In the past, I stayed at the Pine House with my mother. This time, I visited with my sister for the New Year. We chose the second floor of the Bamboo House to walk around the entire property. The best part of this property is that meals are served in the room both in the morning and evening, and it's a delightful point that we can enjoy them at the dining table. There are many adults, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. The quantity and quality of the meals are just right for us. We also enjoyed the onsen a lot and recharged our energy. Thank you very much.

A relaxing Onsen Ryokan to spend time with your daughter

This is my third visit. It takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes by Shinkansen from Tokyo, and about 25 minutes by shuttle service from Nasushiobara Station. The onsen is a natural hot spring, with water around 40 degrees Celsius, and the open-air bath with a view of the snow was fantastic. The facility is adorned with art everywhere, the meals enjoyed in the room are delicious, and the staff are kind. Enjoying delicious Japanese sweets at Suikintei is also one of the pleasures. I enjoyed listening to the sound of the Nakagawa River and walking in the snow, which was a relaxing and healing experience. I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    Stargazing

The cloudy sky cleared up at night, and there was an announcement about a stargazing event, so I decided to join in. The staff at the Property provided detailed explanations about Subaru (Subaru), Aldebaran, and Jupiter, and we were able to observe them. It was amazing!

    Repeat confirmed

I am completely satisfied with the service, location, meals, and bath. Having meals in the room and being allowed to bring in food is the best. The autumn leaves are truly beautiful, and I would recommend this property to many people. I am thinking of going again next year.

Enjoy the autumn leaves, dining, and a relaxing time.

There were autumn leaves around the entrance and garden, turning red and yellow, which were very beautiful. The bath was not large, but I could relax, and the meals were rich in vegetables and delicious. The amenities seemed to be kept to a minimum. The Muatsu futon was comfortable to sleep on. Even in the middle of the night, when I said I wanted to see the stars, they kindly opened the door for me. The staff's response was excellent. Perhaps because it was the last room available due to a last-minute reservation, I was surprised by the swarm of ladybugs. Well, since ladybugs are said to bring happiness, let's accept them.

It was a very cozy space.

I had some unexpected free time from work and discovered that there was one room available the day before, so I decided to stay for the first time. It seemed that there were many repeat guests, and I can understand why. The staff's attention to detail was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Onsen was very pleasant. I was able to relax greatly. Although it must be difficult to serve meals, I was grateful for the room service for both breakfast and dinner as I was traveling alone. The tableware was all lovely, with some pieces repaired with kintsugi, and I was healed by the careful use of these cherished items. The entire Ryokan was an irresistible space for folk art lovers. I would love to visit again if I have the opportunity.

    I was able to relax.

I was able to spend a peaceful time. The Onsen was at a comfortable temperature and felt great. The meals were all very delicious, with flavors that brought out the taste of the ingredients, and I was satisfied. The building was filled with wonderful artworks, so I could enjoy myself without going elsewhere. I also enjoyed a leisurely walk along the riverbank right next to the Ryokan, and the sound of the river's murmur was very pleasant. It was a Ryokan I would like to visit again.

    The stars were beautiful.

I used it for my mother's birthday. We received a sparkling gift from Daikokuya and were very satisfied with the delicious in-room meals & Onsen. Star explanation There were even telescopes and binoculars available, it was the best. I would like to use it again.

Thank you for the heartfelt service.

The meals provided in the room, the bath, and the stone sauna all created a very soothing environment. All the staff provided courteous service, allowing us to have a pleasant stay. The books in the library and the casually placed art gave us energy. I look forward to the day I can visit again.

As always, I am very satisfied.

I stayed at Matsu no Yakata (very convenient for visiting my favorite hinoki bath). This time, I traveled from Urabandai to Itamuro, but unexpectedly arrived late. However, as usual, the staff greeted me with a smile and suggested, "Shall we schedule your dinner for the later time?" This allowed me to unpack, enjoy the hot spring at a leisurely pace, and then have dinner. The meal was as satisfying as always. One of the reasons we love Daikokuya is that meals are served in the room, and (though more inns are offering this recently) there is a spacious table and chairs in the room. Meals are served in about three rounds, allowing us to eat at our own pace without the need for each dish to be brought individually with detailed explanations, which is common in many inns. (I think this is something that seems common but isn't!) It's an inn I love so much that I want to return as soon as I get back home.
