    The Shuttle Service ...

    The Shuttle Service from Ueda Station and Matsumoto Station was greatly appreciated. On our departure, the staff kindly saw us off until the bus was out of sight, which truly warmed our hearts. My father used to stay here often until over 10 years ago, and we stayed this time at his request to visit again after a long time. We are also grateful that you kindly accommodated our request to receive direct mail again. Thank you very much.

    It was a wonderful stay.

    To be honest, I stayed without high expectations, but overall it was a very pleasant stay. The Room was spacious and clean, and the meals were delicious. The service was attentive. Relaxing in the Onsen helped me unwind and recover from daily fatigue. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

    It was great.

    We stayed to celebrate my husband’s birthday after he had artificial joint surgery at the end of last year. We were a little worried about the bath, but the barrier-free facilities were excellent, and he was able to enjoy soaking in the Onsen. The meals were also delicious. Thank you very much.

    The Room is clean, but the view from the window may not be to everyone’s taste.

    Because the buffet had a strong reputation in Reviews, my expectations may have been too high, and the food felt fairly ordinary. The Room has been renovated and is clean and well maintained. However, you can see a building that looks like an abandoned structure from the Room window, so opinions may differ for those who want to enjoy the view (personally, I found it added a bit of character and didn’t mind it). The open-air bath had an atmospheric feel with a comfortable temperature, and I was able to soak and relax for a long time. If you’re visiting as a therapeutic hot-spring retreat, I think this is a good Accommodation.

    It was my first time at Kakeyu Onsen, and I enjoyed it to the fullest.

    At my mother’s request—she is in her 80s—we visited for the first time. While not flashy, it is a calm Hotel where we could relax from check-in to check-out. The views from the Room and dining area were like a painting. There were thoughtful touches for elderly guests throughout, and we especially appreciated the four-point cane available in the bath area and the care chair provided at the washing area. The food was seasoned a bit strongly, but there was a wide variety of dishes and we left completely satisfied. We would love to visit again.

    Disappointed

    I stayed for two nights. The Room I was shown first looked very old, and I didn’t feel I could stay in that Room for two nights. I immediately requested an upgrade, and somehow managed to stay for two nights. However, the gap between the price and the first Room was far too great; I have never been this shocked at any Accommodation I’ve stayed at before. There was duct tape on the floor, and parts of the wall in areas not easily seen were peeling. I felt relieved after upgrading. It seemed like there were many repeat guests, but I can’t understand why. If you think of it as a place for therapeutic hot-spring stays, it might be fine—but if that had been clearly stated from the beginning, I don’t think I would have chosen it. Preferences differ from person to person, so I don’t intend to blame the Hotel. From now on, I’d like to do more research before going.

    A Charming Hotel in a Hidden Paradise

    The staff's hospitality was truly delightful. It was wonderful to see everyone working together to enhance the hotel experience. The accommodation offered enjoyable activities for guests, such as lobby concerts and various sightseeing tours, and showed great consideration for elderly guests in many aspects. Additionally, the restaurant "Kei" provided a delightful dining experience with its flavorful ingredients and delicious sauces. The vegetables, in particular, were outstandingly delicious.

    The buffet meals off...

    The buffet meals offered a variety of healthy dishes, which were constantly replenished before running out, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. I enjoyed the meal, soaked in the Onsen, and felt refreshed. Thank you very much. It would have been nice to have coffee available in the Room.

    It exceeded expectations and was extremely satisfying.

    The women's bath changing room was a bit small, with only two hair dryers. The dinner buffet was extremely delicious. The staff's attentiveness was excellent. The Room was new and spacious, and I would love to come back again.

    The term "Touji"

    Drawn by the concept of "therapeutic bathing," we decided to stay here this time. The bath area was small, with only one-third of the dressing baskets corresponding to washing spaces, and since most guests were elderly, movement was slower than at a public bathhouse. As for meals, while I heard they focused on local production for local consumption, there wasn’t a single dish that stood out as delicious in my memory—it felt like a buffet catered exclusively to seniors. It almost resembled the dining hall of an elderly care Facility. This was my first experience with such tiring meals. Having stayed at various places across The whole country and gained extensive experience, we found this visit quite disappointing. It felt like there were so many areas where just a little more effort could have made all the difference. The staff members were wonderful though. Oh yes—the apple pie was absolutely delicious! I thought the method of opening it without breaking the pastry crust and making it easy for guests to eat showed excellent ingenuity. Kudos to the manager of your confectionery workshop—what an insightful person who truly understands customer needs! Since it's part of the same chain, perhaps your Hotel could take some inspiration from them as well?

    The Fruit of Effort

    It stands out in a somewhat quiet Onsen town. Meals are served buffet-style, featuring fresh fruits and almond jelly instead of the usual canned goods, showing attention to detail. The bath was rather ordinary without any distinctive features, but the staff's service was polite and excellent. The souvenir corner seemed less focused compared to others, but overall, it is a good Hotel for accommodation.

    The Last Summer Getaway

    This trip was to escape the heat. The Room itself is not new, but it was clean and pleasant. The meals were not extremely luxurious, but they felt carefully prepared and suited my taste. The service also felt polite and attentive. I found it to be a perfect place for relaxation. Thank you very much; I am satisfied!

    The lush greenery of the mountains is refreshing.

    The pick-up service to Matsumoto Station was very helpful. We reunited from Tokyo and Osaka and enjoyed a relaxing holiday with the whole family after a long time. For the Keiryu Floor rank, it would be nice if each person could have two bath towels. Also, there was only one small bottle each of shampoo, conditioner, and soap in the amenities, and since the caps were open, we felt uncomfortable using them. It would be great if there were individual amenity sets for each woman. Please consider this along with the bath towels. The buffet was well-stocked until the end, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. The Onsen was crowded as it was a holiday; this is understandable though. Next time, we hope to book a Multiple Night Stay and join the bus tour!

    Buffet featuring local cuisine!

    My husband has been interested in onsen therapy for a while, so we stayed at Saito Hotel with the purpose of checking out their onsen accommodation plan. The meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner, and as mentioned in other reviews, they featured local Nagano dishes, which were excellent. The quality of the onsen water was also very good. We chose a standard room, which had not been renovated, so there were signs of aging here and there. In hindsight, we should have opted for a renovated room. The restaurant staff provided attentive and polite service. However, although check-in started at 2 PM and we arrived around 2:30 PM, there was only one staff member at the reception desk during this busy time to handle both welcoming guests and check-ins. Guests who arrived shortly after us seemed to have to wait until another staff member finally appeared later on. As a guest request, I would like to suggest allowing coffee from the restaurant in the morning to be taken back to rooms. When I tried to take coffee back to our room after breakfast, I was told that it was not allowed. This surprised me as it’s the first time I've encountered such a rule at a hotel with buffet-style breakfast service.

    Annual Accommodation

    We use this place every year for cherry blossom viewing nearby. All the staff are very pleasant, the Room is clean, and we can relax comfortably. The meals, accompanied by fresh vegetables, are very delicious and highly satisfying.

    The room was spaciou...

    The room was spacious and comfortable. There were many dishes, and I was full. It would be better if the coffee was a bit stronger. The documents of the property terms are old and yellowed. There seems to be room for improvement without much cost. I am looking forward to it.

    Incredible value for money.

    I wonder if it's okay to use it at such a price. Includes a 50-minute Shuttle Service from the nearest station (for me, Matsumoto Station) one way. The Room is spacious. There is a large public bath, gym, and pool, and a luxurious buffet for breakfast and dinner. If this were a foreign-owned Hotel in the city center, it would probably cost around 40,000 to 50,000 yen. At the pool, you can take a free water walking lesson from an instructor (only once from 3 PM). I thought it was just about walking, but I learned that there is quite a depth to it. Looking around Kakae Onsen, there are some rundown (seemingly closed) Hotels here and there. I hope it gets more lively since there are such wonderful Hotels.

    A wonderful and heartfelt Stays.

    It was a splendid property exclusively for adults. A calm atmosphere, profound service, and a comfortable onsen. Everything about it is an onsen property for adults. The meals were not only delicious but also featured a health-conscious menu, allowing us to dine with peace of mind. Although I was a bit apprehensive about the buffet, it turned out to be a meal where we could enjoy as much delicious food as we liked. I am very satisfied. Additionally, the Yakushido, which is a must-see and just a 2-3 minute walk from the property, is noteworthy. Listening to the quiet flow of the river, crossing the charming "bridge" to visit, and receiving the clear Yakushi water seemed to invigorate me from the heart. Unfortunately, the autumn foliage season had already passed, but we still enjoyed the autumn ambiance. If I had to say, the optional sake is expensive, the optional bus tour is expensive, and the optional private bath is expensive. In any case, I thought the additional charges for options were quite high.

    Please come again.

    This year, the autumn leaves were late, and the bridge's autumn foliage seen in the Kakegawa Onsen brochure was at its best. The meals at the property, especially the French cuisine at Restaurant Kei, were memorable for their excellent service, local ingredients, dishes, and tableware. The pool, training room, and spa are conveniently located next to the large public bath, making them very easy to use. I would love to visit again.

    The facility was worth the price.

    We used the service with the purpose of enjoying the autumn leaves and matsutake mushroom huts around Ueda. The Onsen was good, I think.

    A property that makes you want to stay long-term.

    The Facility was well-equipped, and the meals were delicious. The massage menu was extensive, and men could also receive treatments, allowing for relaxation and rejuvenation.

    The meals at the restaurant were very satisfying, allowing us to fully enjoy local ingredients and sake. The Room was clean, and there were two yukatas of each size, so we could change in the morning and evening, which was comfortable. I think it would be even more comfortable if bath towels were placed in the bathroom.

    A hotel that is good for your health!

    We stayed in the middle of a long holiday. I hurt my back while hiking in the Utsukushigahara Highlands, but thanks to the trainer's advice, I did some walking in the pool and the Onsen effect helped me feel much better the next day. I am grateful for the kind assistance from the front desk staff. Thank you very much! It was a birthday trip for my daughter, and I also appreciate the service at the restaurant. The meals were healthy, which was great for us as we love vegetables. We used the private bath with the IKYU Diamond Member benefits and were able to enjoy the Onsen at our leisure! The free Shuttle Service from Matsumoto Station was also helpful. It would have been even better if there was a free coffee service like Nespresso in the Room. We would like to use the Property again when visiting Kamikochi or the Utsukushigahara Highlands.

    I used Saito Hotel, which raises the concept of modern therapeutic bathing, to find out what therapeutic bathing is like. The room, bath, facilities, meals, tours, etc., were all satisfactory. I rated the meals 4 points because I felt that it would be better to have more meal options if staying for a long time. Thank you for taking care of us.
