The kids’ room was fantastic!
The Onsen water has a silky, soothing quality and feels wonderful, but above all, the kids’ room was fantastic. Our 3-year-old grandchild loves it and had fun the entire time again on this visit. Seeing that happy smile is the best gift for us grandparents. This is our third stay this year, and we also have a Reservation for December 31 at year-end.

Excellent! A perfect score.
We stayed here for the first time on a family trip to Kyushu. We stayed in the detached special Room “Taigetsuan.” It’s the only Room in this Accommodation, and we were soothed by its calm, refined atmosphere. The garden was also beautiful. We’ve stayed at many places, but it’s rare for us to feel this excited. The attention to detail—every single element—was wonderful. For the first time, I found myself wishing I had a tatami room at home. Both the dinner course and breakfast were completely satisfying. Meals were served in another detached building called Jusui. The staff were kind, and their service was excellent. Not only the in-room Onsen, but also the open-air bath and large public bath were great. We will definitely return again. If possible, I’d love to stay for about a week during a quieter season.

A riverside Accommodation filled with warm hospitality
A historic Ryokan towering along the Chikugo River. We stayed in a scenic 9th-floor Room and enjoyed both the open-air bath and indoor bath in the large public bath! Dinner portions were on the smaller side, but the breakfast buffet offered excellent variety and quality—we were very satisfied. During our stay, we appreciated the complimentary coffee and drinks service in the lounge. We traveled with a baby, and it was a wonderful Accommodation with great hospitality and well-equipped barrier-free facilities!

It was great.
My comments are candid. I’m writing honestly because this is an Accommodation I want to support. (I stay in different places for work about 10 days a month.) This time the price was low and the exterior looked fairly ordinary, so I didn’t expect much—but it pleasantly surprised me. The best part was the service. I could tell that all the staff were considerate. It was truly comfortable and made me feel at ease. Second was the lounge area. Even though the entrance is fairly standard, the lounge is stylish and clean. There are power outlets, it’s spacious and relaxing, and the complimentary karinto snacks were delicious. Third was the bath area. It felt very clean, and the changing room is stylish. I think it would be much better just by replacing the bath stools and buckets with warmer-looking ones. Part of the sauna lighting looked burnt out, which might be dangerous. Lastly, the guest room was very clean, simple, spacious, and great overall. If only the bed were a bit softer—or larger—I’d want to stay here every day. Thank you!

An Accommodation so close you’ll want to visit again and again.
It had been a while since my last stay at this Accommodation. Over the past few years, the open-air bath has been renovated and Onsen water has been introduced in the Room, so I was really looking forward to it. The open-air bath has wonderfully soft water that feels like soaking in a beauty serum. There is also a sauna, making the open-air bathing area even more enjoyable. The men’s open-air bath has also been renewed, and with the rotation system in place, it was possible to enjoy two different open-air baths. This time I stayed on the 11th floor. When I entered the Room, I found that it had been renovated inside—everything felt new and very pleasant. Since I’ve slept on a semi-double bed for over 30 years, having a single bed due to the space taken up by the in-room Onsen felt a bit cramped. The tatami area uses floor chairs, which can be difficult for older guests to sit on. I would appreciate floor chairs with at least 30 cm of height. The in-room Onsen was extremely relaxing. In the morning, I stretched my arms out toward the rising sun from the bath and recharged my energy for the day. For meals, I dined at Jusui. I always look forward to it because of their attentive service and delicious food. Also, behind the lobby, what used to be a souvenir corner has been remodeled into a lounge offering welcome drinks and complimentary beverages. It is available until 10:00 p.m., and it made my stay very comfortable. There is also an area where you can use a laptop while looking out at the garden—an excellent addition. Isn’t this Hotel ideal for businesspeople and managers who want to relax alone while getting some work done? I could really feel how much care went into each renovation point—and that significant investment has been made. Next time, I plan to make a Reservation for a larger Room. Thank you very much.

Good value for the price.
We stayed on a weekday as a family of two. The triple room on a high floor was 16 tatami mats in size and also had a raised seating area, so it felt spacious enough. There were two TVs—one by the beds and one in the raised area—so it seemed suitable even for 4–5 guests. Dinner was nicely separated into compartments for each group, but the pacing of the meal service was slow and the waiting time felt a bit long. It was also a little disappointing that there were no fried items such as tempura, which is unusual. Breakfast offered plenty of variety with many handmade items, and I felt it was more than adequate for an Hotel of this size. Many foreign staff members were employed at the Hotel, but they were well trained and spoke Japanese well, so everything was stress-free; I hope they continue to do their best in Japan. The baths switched between men and women in the morning and evening, and we could relax comfortably; in particular, the small path leading to the open-air bath was well maintained and had a great atmosphere. Overall we were very satisfied, so next time we would like to visit with our extended family.

It no longer feels special.
We stayed in the detached “Taigetsuan” for two consecutive years. Last year, we were guided to the on-site parking area upon arrival, and we enjoyed our meal at a private room in “Jusen” at a relaxed pace. The staff’s thoughtful attention was very pleasant, and we stayed again this year seeking that same “special feeling.” This time, it was raining and we were told the parking area was full, so we were directed to the second parking lot. Our luggage was carried to our Room, but our shoes were not neatly arranged after we took them off. Dinner was also at “Jusen,” but it was in a shared hall with other guests, and it was noisy. The meal explanations felt like they were read straight from a manual while looking at notes, without checking whether we understood; for my elderly mother, who is somewhat hard of hearing, it was a difficult environment. We were satisfied with the Facility and the food, but overall it felt lacking in hospitality and Japanese attentiveness. The “special feeling” we had expected was gone, and at this price point our stay left us dissatisfied. When leaving the Accommodation, we happened to meet again the staff member who assisted us last year; their unchanged consideration finally made us feel relieved.

I came to Kyushu on ...
I came to Kyushu on a trip for my mother. We chose this place because the Reviews were truly excellent about the cherry-blossom garden, the Onsen, the lobby lounge that feels like a top-class Hotel, the food, and the staff—and in the end, it was exactly as described in the Reviews, or even better. First of all, the chocolate fountain with the welcome drink was absolutely amazing! The staff member who guided us to our Room was also very pleasant. We stayed in a detached Room, and it happened to be peak cherry blossom season—the view of the garden in full bloom from our Room was breathtaking! And we could enjoy it all to ourselves; my mother was deeply moved. And above all, the food was outstanding. The natural flavors of each ingredient were brought out beautifully, and every dish was perfectly seasoned. We enjoyed Kyushu ingredients we had never tried before, served on beautiful tableware—everything showed careful attention to detail. My mother kept saying throughout dinner how incredible this chef is! The explanations when each dish arrived were thorough, and their thoughtful service made for a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. I was also happy that we could keep admiring the cherry blossoms while eating. The quality of the Onsen water was excellent as well. We fully enjoyed everything: an open-air bath that changes between night and morning, a rare tatami bath, and even the bath in our Room. Truly—whether it was the staff, cuisine, Room, or Onsen—everything was exceptional. This became an unforgettable Hotel for us. I would definitely love to stay again. I’m sure maintaining this level of quality is not easy, but I hope nothing changes. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality.

We stayed in a detached Room during our family cherry-blossom trip. The garden cherry trees were in full bloom, and we could enjoy a beautiful view from the Room window, which was very satisfying. The bath in the Room was also free-flowing Onsen water, making it very pleasant to use. The open-air bath is also recommended. Even with four people, the Room felt spacious and not cramped at all, so we were able to stay comfortably. Dinner was at Jusui; there were no private rooms, so we wished there had at least been some kind of partition. The food came in generous portions with many dishes, but the taste was honestly average. We would like to stay again during cherry blossom season.

Longevity Celebration Plan
I stayed with the “Longevity Celebration Plan” for my 100th birthday. The price felt a little high, but I was very grateful that they provided a chanchanko vest and helped create commemorative photos for my brother-in-law, who also has a March birthday and was celebrating his 77th birthday. Breakfast was delicious, just as the Review said, and it left a great impression that a young female staff member saw us off until the very end.

Looking forward to next time.
I was deeply impressed during my stay in March, so I booked a Multiple Night Stay again with the same Plan as last time, but the difference in the meals was too great, and I was personally disappointed. It was to the point that I wondered if the head chef had been replaced. When I asked for tea after the meal, it tasted like overused tea leaves. The black tea served with dessert had a color that looked like it had been steeped too long; I tried it thinking it might be your original Japanese black tea, but it had no black tea flavor. Jusen is a dimly lit space, but even so, I found it strange that no one noticed when preparing and serving it. This time was a weekend Multiple Night Stay and I assume it was a busy period, but because my previous stay was so good, this was disappointing. I look forward to improvements next time.

One unfortunate thing...
Last time, I stayed in a renovated Room. This time, I stayed in a more reasonably priced Room. I was satisfied with the Onsen and the lounge, but the tea provided in the Room and at the dining area... It had been a long time since I’d had tea with so little flavor. It was as bland as the kind of tea you might get at a training camp... That one cup of tea really increased my disappointment. This is an Onsen Accommodation. At the very least, I would like you to serve tea with a bit more flavor.

Favorite Accommodation
This was my fifth stay. I love the large TV in the Room, the spacious washroom, and being able to relax in the Onsen. The sofa and chairs are stylish as well. The meals at Jusen are just the right portion size, featuring local cuisine and regional ingredients, which shows a real appreciation for the area. For some reason, I also felt truly valued as a guest. I will visit again.

Both hardware and software are excellent!
We stayed at the accommodation with five people at the end of the year. My elderly father has difficulty walking, but a walker and wheelchair were provided, allowing him to stay in the room comfortably without any issues. The sofa and chairs in the room were extremely comfortable, offering a great view, and everyone enjoyed using the private bath in the room. Dinner served in a separate area was delicious, reflecting both seasonal and local flavors. Conversations with the staff were polite and enjoyable, showcasing their warm hospitality. Post-dinner table tennis was also a lot of fun. It was an accommodation that satisfied all three generations of our family, and we would love to visit again!

Everything was excellent except for the meals, which ruined the entire experience.
The room, staff service, onsen, and view were all excellent!! ...but everything was ruined by the dinner. - Despite informing in advance to avoid raw food due to pregnancy, sashimi was served. - The appetizer was taken away along with the sashimi and replaced with something else, only to be taken back again and replaced with the original dish. - The fried pufferfish brought as a replacement for sashimi was cold. - The soup was also cold and lukewarm. - A foreign staff member handled our meal but provided no explanation about the dishes. - The order of serving dishes (chawanmushi → grilled fish → abalone steak) was completely off; they brought the abalone steak first, followed by chawanmushi and grilled fish while we were eating the steak that had just been cooked. - Moreover, the grilled fish seemed like it had been prepared hours ago—it was dry and cold. - Everything felt poorly organized throughout dinner, leaving us uncomfortable. Having stayed at various ryokans before, this is by far the worst dining experience I've ever had—it felt insulting! Although we received a refund for the meal cost, it wasn't enough to compensate for how upset we felt overall.

It was great.
As returning guests, we truly enjoyed the delicious meals. The dishes prepared for us, considering our preference to avoid raw fish, were exceptionally tasty. Thank you so much to the head chef. One small disappointment was that the coffee served with dessert during our previous visit was not provided this time. If possible, we would appreciate it being included again.

I would love to visit this accommodation again!
The open-air bath and tatami bath were excellent. The Room was spacious and clean, and the variety of dishes for dinner was impressive. The breakfast buffet also had a wide selection and was very delicious. Next time, I would like to stay here again before visiting Kumamoto, Oita, or Miyazaki.

We stayed here for a family trip.
The Facility showed signs of aging, but the staff's service was excellent. The meals were delicious, especially the breakfast buffet where I enjoyed fresh vegetables and local dishes.

It was the best meal.
For our first stay, the room was newly renovated, spacious, and clean. The creative Japanese kaiseki cuisine at the hidden restaurant was excellent; each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. The staff at the dining area were kind, attentive, and wonderful. The only disappointment was the lack of a morning lounge. It would be great if coffee or similar lounge services were provided.

Relaxing
This was my first visit! The staff provided excellent service! There is a roadside station within walking distance, and the sunflower field was absolutely beautiful! I visited with my boyfriend in our 20s, and the meals were delicious and perfectly satisfying. It was a great experience—thank you very much!

Enjoyed a comfortable stay in the renovated Room.
I stayed in a renovated top-floor room with an onsen. The room was spacious and comfortable. The bath with its stunning view was very relaxing. Meals were served in a semi-private dining area facing the courtyard, which had a great atmosphere and delicious food.

Enjoyment During Your Homecoming
I always stay here when returning to Kyushu. My mother loves the Onsen here and looks forward to it every time. The Onsen, sauna, breakfast, and food were excellent. The lounge was also fantastic. What was disappointing was that we couldn't dine at the newly opened Keyaki on the first floor, which we had been looking forward to. It was especially disappointing as my elderly mother had been excited about it too.

Thank you for your hard work, Dad!
We used this facility for a family trip spanning three generations to celebrate my father's retirement. The room and amenities were generally good, but it was disappointing that the pillow had a tobacco smell despite being in a non-smoking room. The Onsen was absolutely fantastic! The dining area was arranged with families with children, which made it comfortable to enjoy our meal. However, the soup (clear broth) was served cold, which was unfortunate. Asakura's local cuisine is always delicious no matter how many times we have it, and we look forward to it every time we visit. It seemed like our 5-year-old grandchild enjoyed the trip the most. We will definitely come back again!

Kyushu Trip
I stayed here for a visit to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. I was looking for an Onsen Ryokan and found this Hotel, where I decided to stay. My impression is that the baths were excellent. Both the open-air bath and the tatami bath were wonderful. If I had to point out one inconvenience, it would be that these two baths are not connected, so I had to change clothes before going between them, which was a bit troublesome—but the baths more than made up for it. The breakfast buffet was also satisfying. I will definitely stay here again someday!

The open-air bath was excellent.
The Hotel is located in a rural area with nothing much around, but it was great for enjoying the open-air bath and meals while relaxing. The Hotel itself is old, and the guest rooms are also dated, but the large public bath, open-air bath, and breakfast area have been renovated and are very clean! The garden has a charming atmosphere and is very beautiful. However, there were quite a lot of mosquitoes in the garden, so mosquito protection would be advisable. There were not many options suitable for children in the meals provided; having items like fries would be helpful.

The Smile of a Grandchild
Not only is there a kids' room, but the lobby also has toys for children, including ride-on excavators and house-shaped tents, bringing lots of smiles. Of course, the Onsen had a silky smooth texture, making it a truly satisfying experience.

A quiet and comfortable Ryokan. Conveniently located near Fukuoka City, making travel stress-free. The staff are kind and natural in their approach. Meals were excellent and delicious. The Room was spacious and pleasant. However, it would be perfect if there were tissues in the bathroom, disposable slippers, and a handrail at the entrance of the Room. I look forward to visiting again occasionally!
