    Unfortunately.

    It was supposed to be our once-a-year family trip, but the Hotel we chose based on its good reviews was a disappointment. The only good part was the private kaiseki meal. There was no welcome, and even the greetings felt gloomy. Everything seemed to cost extra. For the best Plan on the top floor, this is unacceptable. Very disappointing—we will not return.

    Family Trip

    Although the price was higher due to the Obon holiday period, I was satisfied with everything—the food, service, and Facility. Because of its hilltop location, I could enjoy a full-window view of the Sea of Japan from my Room, which was very relaxing. The ocean view from the open-air bath was also outstanding. I would like to stay here again when I visit Toyama.

    We had a great time.

    From the warm hospitality to the excellent service from all the staff, we had a wonderful time. We also enjoyed unexpected activities such as the table tennis service, and the ocean view from our Room was beautiful—making it a truly memorable day. The meals offered a great variety, and we were able to fully enjoy many of Toyama’s local specialties. The evening course dinner was carefully prepared dish by dish, and we were extremely satisfied. One thing we hope will improve further is the overall cleanliness and odor inside the building. We stayed in a non-smoking Room, but noticed a slight smell of cigarette smoke on the floor. Since it is such a lovely Ryokan, improving this point would make the stay even more comfortable. Other than that, everything was truly wonderful—this is a Ryokan we would like to give five stars. It’s a place we would love to visit again with our family. We would be even happier if these points have been improved by our next visit.

    It was a shame we co...

    It was a shame we couldn’t see the sunset due to the unfortunate weather, but the view from the Room was amazing! For dinner, we were able to take our time enjoying Himi rice, sashimi, meat, and more—we were completely full and very satisfied. We also warmed up in the bath while looking out at the sea.

    In Search of Beautiful Scenery

    I stayed here to enjoy the beauty of the sea and the Tateyama mountain range. The windows were large, and the sunset and sunrise views were wonderful. However, it was disappointing that the Room felt old and that the area just inside the door was dark. In the Room there was only one bottle of water and one tea bag, and at the sink there was only one toothbrush. The large public bath had only a small selection of amenities. Dinner was average; breakfast was a buffet and more than enough for me. All of the staff were kind, which I really appreciated.

    A quiet, relaxing Onsen Accommodation

    The Onsen was wonderful and very relaxing. The staff were kind and helpful, which we truly appreciated. The meals offered a mix of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, and we enjoyed trying a variety of flavors. We were especially impressed to find Himi udon at breakfast. Thank you for taking care of us.

    A great accommodation

    Overall, I think it is a very nice Accommodation, but there were no amenities in the Room. I would have appreciated even disposable ones. The location was great and the staff were kind, but a large group of guests was noisy. The breakfast buffet was delicious, but it overlapped with the group’s time, so it was loud and crowded, and people cut in line, which did not feel pleasant. For breakfast, I think assigning time slots would make it better. Since it is such a nice Accommodation, I would like to visit again, but I would prefer not to overlap with a large group again.

    Hometown

    This was my mother’s first trip back to her hometown in 20 years. We were lucky to have clear skies and could faintly see the Tateyama Mountain Range from Amaharashi Coast. The lobby was spacious, with greenery visible through the windows, and the Onsen was wonderful—enjoying a cool breeze while looking out at the sea from the open-air bath felt great. The sashimi was delicious, and both the dining staff and front desk staff were very pleasant. The only slight disappointment was that there weren’t many Room amenities, but overall it was an Accommodation we were very satisfied with.

    Unfortunately.

    The staff lacked proper hospitality manners and service etiquette. For example, the soup was served with a hand gripping the bowl, making it unclear where guests were supposed to drink from. Even when this was pointed out, they did not seem to understand why it was an issue.

    Family Trip

    We made a Reservation because we were looking for an Accommodation with a great view. Since it was a good-value Plan with payment in cash on site, we weren’t sure what to expect, but the view was wonderful, and the abalone appetizer and sashimi at dinner were delicious. My daughter especially liked the waffles at breakfast. The entrance to the large public bath had a beautiful tatami hallway, which created a very pleasant atmosphere.

    Keep in mind this Ho...

    Keep in mind this Hotel also accommodates group guests. The Room was spacious, and the view from the guest Room (Toyama Bay and the Tateyama Mountain Range) was great. We stayed in a bed Room, but since we’re not used to Japanese-style living, we were disappointed there was no sofa. The meals were average.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    I visited on a trip to Toyama in November. When I called from the roadside station, you came to pick me up right away, and as soon as I entered the Room, I was breathless at the spectacular view outside the window. The view from the open-air bath was also wonderful, and both the Room and the facilities were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. Dinner was thoughtfully prepared and served one dish after another at just the right temperature; in particular, the miso-braised mackerel was delicious. My goal was to see the Tateyama Mountain Range across Toyama Bay, but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate. When I come back for another try, I will definitely stay at Isohanabi again. The Amaharashi Coast also appeared on NHK’s “Document 72 Hours” recently. I hope it will be as beautifully visible as that... Thank you very much.

    Briversary

    I stayed here on the second day of my trip, planned around tasting Wakasa fugu, Toyama Bay winter yellowtail, and Echizen crab. Dinner was, of course, a full-course yellowtail meal—every bit as impressive as fugu and crab—and I was able to enjoy it slowly and to the fullest. Unfortunately, because of the snow I couldn’t see the Northern Alps from Amaharashi Coast, but it became a memorable “Buri-versary” that makes me want to visit again.

    A group, possibly here for a year-end party, was quite noisy.

    My husband wanted to enjoy the Onsen, so we stayed at your Hotel. The Room amenities included only a toothbrush, which I actually found refreshingly simple. When I was looking for a hair tie in the bath area and asked an older staff member, I was told they didn’t have one. They even started to take off their own hair tie to give it to me, but I politely declined. The food was delicious, but many guests were speaking loudly, so it wasn’t really an atmosphere where we could relax and enjoy the meal. We could serve ourselves soft-serve ice cream into a cup, but the cup was so large that I ended up eating too much. The Onsen was lukewarm, and since we prefer very hot baths, it felt a bit unsatisfying. If we have the opportunity, we would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    A Wonderful Stay in 2025

    This Accommodation had been on my mind ever since I visited Amaharashi Coast in spring. So, for our family year-end trip in 2025, we stayed for a two-night Multiple Night Stay. On the first day, we were welcomed by the picture-perfect view of Amaharashi Coast and the Tateyama Mountain Range—just like in travel posters and magazines. Our Room was a wonderful Japanese-Western style room called “Ten no Niwa,” with a front-facing view of the Tateyama Mountain Range and even Toyama Bay. The Room was spacious, with a sofa that could seat two to three people, plus a low table in the tatami area—perfect for relaxing while enjoying the view from the window. Every corner of the Room was meticulously cleaned. Although it was a season when dryness can be an issue, we were very comfortable thanks to a large humidifying air purifier. A 2-liter electric kettle, snacks, mineral water, coffee packets, sencha tea, burdock tea, coffee cups, a teapot and teacups, and glasses were all well provided. We declined cleaning on the second day because we wanted to relax in the Room, but they still replenished not only amenities but other items as well. The housekeeping staff throughout the building also seemed local and did thorough wipe-down cleaning even in hard-to-reach areas—it felt very pleasant. The Onsen is a highly concentrated chloride spring that warmed us up thoroughly. The temperature was just right for us, so we could soak slowly and comfortably. It was closed for about two hours during the day for cleaning; however, since we were staying multiple nights and looking forward to enjoying the Onsen often, we were satisfied that we could bathe many times. The meals we had been looking forward to delighted both our eyes and taste buds on both days—especially on day two; we were impressed by how high-quality the ingredients were. Not only was there delicious fish from Toyama Bay, but every hot pot dish and meat dish was excellent as well—and served in just the right amount. At our age too many fried dishes can feel heavy; since we especially looked forward to enjoying sake with dinner, everything paired perfectly and each dish was truly delicious. Breakfast is buffet-style. The onsen eggs made with eggs from Takaoka City (and their quality), along with an impressive variety of kombu seaweed options—and especially how flavorful the broth for Himi udon noodles was—left a strong impression. At dinner time as well—we had really been looking forward to local sake—so we were delighted by how extensive their sake selection was. We were very satisfied: there were three different tasting sets available, and we also had rare sakes that are not often available by single-serving portions. If you call on the day of arrival regarding Shuttle Service as well—they will come pick you up at Amaharashi Station regardless of train arrival/departure times. The front desk staff were kind, and every employee we passed inside felt genuinely pleasant. The location of this Accommodation—as well as its cuisine and Onsen—were all outstanding; it made for an excellent trip overall.

    Whether it has been ...

    Whether it has been renovated or not, the Ryokan was very clean, and part of the Room even had underfloor heating, so we were able to stay comfortably. From the Room’s balcony, we could see the Noto Peninsula to the left, the Sea of Japan straight ahead, and the Tateyama Mountain Range in the distance to the right. At night we could even see constellations, and I was simply amazed by the magnificent natural panorama that changed from day to night. The bath was spacious and well-lit, which was personally a big plus for me—since my eyesight is poor, I could bathe without worrying about bumping into anything. The front desk staff were young but handled everything professionally, and overall it was a Ryokan I was satisfied with in both facilities and service. I would like to visit again. Thank you very much for your hospitality this time.

    Accommodation you'd want to revisit

    An accommodation located on a hill offering a panoramic view of Toyama Bay and the Tateyama Mountain Range. While the building is not new, it is well-maintained, and the rooms, baths, and dining areas are all impeccably clean, ensuring a comfortable stay. The staff, including those at the front desk and bath cleaning team (?), were all very pleasant. Above all, the scenery was truly breathtaking and exceeded expectations. Right after check-in, I had the chance to enjoy the bath alone by coincidence—having Toyama Bay all to myself from the open-air bath was an absolute delight! Stunning views! Perfect experience!

    The view was great, and I had a pleasant stay. Although I forgot something the next day, the staff responded promptly, which I greatly appreciated. This is an accommodation I would love to stay at again.

    Stunning View

    Not only upon arrival and after check-out, but also when returning from the beach, we were provided with a shuttle service to the nearest JR Amaharashi Station. The view of the ocean from the room, the open-air bath, and even the dining area was absolutely stunning. However, it was a bit disappointing that the air conditioning in both the facility and room was too strong, making us feel cold. Thanks to that though, we enjoyed visiting the onsen multiple times! The food was delicious, and all of the staff provided excellent hospitality. Thank you very much!

    Not necessarily bad, but...

    The service was proper, and there were no complaints. However, there wasn't anything particularly outstanding either. If the price were lower, it might be considered good value for money, but that wasn't the case. The bath was nice. The food was delicious; however, I have to mention something about the abalone teppanyaki option we added. They simply lit the fire under a lidded grill plate and told us to "open the lid and eat once the fire goes out." There was no demonstration or presentation since it was covered with a lid, so we couldn't see anything at all. Where exactly is it supposed to "dance"? Wouldn't it be just as well if they served pre-cooked abalone instead? This aspect felt very disappointing. At other accommodations, staff members usually handle this in front of you and show you how it's done properly.

    Three Generations Fully Satisfied

    Although living in Toyama, we often traveled to other prefectures. However, upon a friend's recommendation, we decided to stay here with my 88-year-old mother. The staff's hospitality was excellent, and the view from the large window in our Room was like a painting—sparkling beautifully (perhaps because of the good weather). The bath had a charming atmosphere as we walked together as a family to enjoy it. The water felt wonderful and seemed to make our skin smooth. The meals were delightful from start to finish—from the small appetizer bowls to the salted ice cream dessert. Everything was delicious: sashimi, roast pork, corn tempura...the list goes on! We also enjoyed comparing cold sake with the "Iso Hanabi Set." Even karaoke had new songs available for us to enjoy. The calm ambiance of the facility allowed us plenty of time for relaxation and healing. I would love to visit again if given another opportunity!

    Family Trip

    The lobby and the room offer a great view of the sea. You can also enjoy an unobstructed view of Toyama Bay from the open-air bath, making the bath experience very satisfying. Breakfast had a wide variety of dishes, including Himi Udon and sashimi, which were delicious. However, dinner received a low rating of 1, which affects the overall evaluation.     Both the Room and meals are excellent.

    We used the Rakuru Villa Plan for three people. The room was clean and spacious, featuring three beds, a tatami room, a space with a sofa and table, and an amazing view from the window that made us feel great. The view from the open-air bath in the large public bath was also fantastic, making it hard to leave. The meals were carefully prepared and absolutely delicious. The only downside was that the souvenir shop in the facility closed at 8 PM, so we couldn't visit after dinner. We would love to use this place again when we have guests.

    It was a wonderful place!

    I haven't stayed at many Onsen accommodations and can't make comparisons, but I was drawn to this accommodation because of the photos of Amaharashi Coast, Amaharashi Station, and the fact that you can see Toyama Bay from every room. The open-air bath was as wonderful as in the photos, the meals (dinner and breakfast) were delicious, and all the staff were very pleasant. It became a place that will remain in my heart for a lifetime. Although I am not familiar with traditional Onsen accommodations, there was a rule that each person could only use two towels (one large and one small), with additional towels available for a fee. (We stayed for one night.) While I don't expect unlimited towels, it would have been nice to use a few more since it's an Onsen accommodation... Still, I definitely want to come back here again. I am satisfied overall.

    Ryokan with Ocean View

    The view of the ocean from both the room and the bath was stunning, but it was a bit disappointing that only a small part of the Tateyama Mountain Range was visible. However, it could be seen clearly from the breakfast venue in the morning. It would have been nice if there were a lounge or similar space in the ryokan where you could always enjoy that view. The shuttle service staff and other staff members were very kind and attentive. The onsen was excellent and well-maintained, allowing for a relaxing and pleasant stay.

    The view is spectacular.

    Stayed at the top floor "Heaven's Garden" accommodation. The day we arrived, we had an amazing view of the Tateyama Mountain Range. The meals were plentiful with a variety of dishes and very delicious. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.
