Autumn Menu

Enjoyed the autumn menu at Watanabe as the heat subsided. It's now the season for my favorite shrimp, though I must admit I love it all year round without preference. Staying here annually (except during the COVID period), this time I finally got to try their Mont Blanc dessert. Every dish was a delight, including the rare and luxurious Shibudai fish, spiny lobster, mehikari fish, and everything else on offer. Paired with a sake tasting set, it was a perfect match with the exquisite cuisine. Having recently started solo traveling just a few months ago, I'm already planning another trip next month. Watanabe is truly a place where you can relax and enjoy gourmet meals without any stress even when traveling alone. Many thanks to the chef and madam for their warm hospitality as always! Looking forward to visiting again soon!

We are delighted that you enjoyed the freshly available Ise lobster, Mehikari fish, and the extremely rare Jibudai (I had a little as sashimi myself, and it was amazing). Our annual favorite Mont Blanc dessert will be made again once we can source delicious chestnuts. During chestnut season, our weekends are usually spent preparing them, but knowing how much our guests enjoy it makes all the effort worthwhile—thank you for your support! The season for enjoying sake is just beginning. It seems this time we didn’t quite meet your expectations in that regard, so next time we’ll prepare a crisp and light sake to suit your taste. We’ll make sure to find something special for you! Recently, another guest mentioned: “I usually only choose accommodations with rooms featuring open-air baths, so I hadn’t considered this place before.” It’s clear that compared to other accommodations in the same price range offering such amenities, we may not always be on their radar. While our focus is on providing exceptional dining experiences rather than luxurious facilities, my husband and I will continue doing everything within our power to ensure an unforgettable stay for each guest.
