    We’ll be back!

    This Accommodation, Sagamiya, was a wonderful place where we could truly feel traditional Japanese hospitality. As soon as we arrived by car, the staff noticed us right away and came out to assist, kindly helping us park with ease. They guided us to our Room, and the attendant came to greet us and made tea for us. These days we often stay at more Western-style Hotels, so it was a pleasure to enjoy this Japanese-style hospitality again after a long time. We enjoyed a delicious in-room meal in the tatami Room with a lovely view. The open-air bath in the Room was also excellent, and even one night was enough to leave us feeling fully refreshed. All of the staff were very pleasant. We also appreciated the many thoughtful touches throughout our stay—it felt reassuring that experienced staff could make good judgments on the spot. We would love to visit again.

    I can’t wait to stay here again!!

    Stayed on August 5th for the fireworks day. Everyone at the front desk, the dinner venue, and the fireworks guidance staff were cheerful and wonderful. The meal also included dancing abalone. The private bath was free, and it was an open-air bath with an ocean view! The Room was clean and didn’t feel old at all. We were very satisfied!

    Group Travel

    I was worried because I heard there were three group bookings, but it was quieter than I expected, which was a relief. I was also able to enjoy the bath in peace. However, overall it felt geared mainly toward groups, and for individual guests the meals and other services didn’t seem to have much attention to detail.

    Staying with My Elderly Mother

    I have stayed here several times. Since I am staying with my elderly mother, the light course is very helpful. I appreciate everyone’s kindness. The large public bath, open-air bath, and private open-air bath were all excellent, and we were very satisfied.

    Just a little more.

    I stayed in a Deluxe Twin room, and the ocean view right in front of me was beautiful. It was also nice that they provided hand sanitizer and paper towels for drying hands, which you don’t often see at other Hotels. It was a bit inconvenient that the large public bath and the open-air bath are on different floors, and I wish the open-air bath were a little larger. The meals were standard; I don’t usually eat a lot, but they still felt slightly lacking. For breakfast, I would have preferred a buffet.

    The open-air bath in the Room is wonderful.

    We returned because we loved the Room with an open-air bath we stayed in before. The free-flowing bath was around 44°C (and can of course be adjusted), which is perfect for us since we like hot baths. The bath terrace also has a deck chair with an ottoman, so you can enjoy a beer while looking out at the sea. We could happily spend all our time between the bath and the terrace. The in-room massage chair was also very comfortable. We also appreciated the drinks provided in the refrigerator—beer, juice, tea, mineral water, and coffee. The light-course dinner was just the right amount, and everything was delicious. It’s a straightforward, classic menu without trying to be overly inventive like Hoshino or Noguchi, which we liked. If I had to mention one thing, I wish the rice were cooked with a bit more care. While in-room dining is convenient, we’re so used to eating on chairs that sitting seiza-style or cross-legged made it hard to eat comfortably. If providing a table and chairs is difficult, having floor chairs with some height would make it easier. One more thing: the Wi‑Fi didn’t connect at all. It may have been just this time, but I hope it can be improved.

    Family Trip

    I stay in the Izu/Atami area a few times a year, and I often used to drive past this Accommodation. This time, I brought my elderly parents by train. We chose this Accommodation—which hadn’t been on our radar—because it offers a Shuttle Service, has great views, and has high Review ratings. At first glance the building feels a bit old, but the interior has been renovated, and above all it is very well cleaned. The view from our Room was outstanding, and the bedding was fluffy and very comfortable. The meals were delicious as well; ingredients such as abalone, turban shell, and teppanyaki beef were excellent. My father usually eats small portions, but he said “It’s so good I can’t stop eating,” and finished everything. We dined in the restaurant this time, but we could see staff serving other tables and it somehow felt a little unsettled; we thought semi-private seating would make dining even more comfortable. We also appreciated the complimentary drinks in the refrigerator and the drink service in the morning and evening. If we had to ask for more, we would have liked a few more options such as tomato juice or drinking vinegar. The open-air bath on the 8th floor has an amazing location with nothing blocking the view. It was just a shame that the indoor bath is on the 1st floor and separated from it, making access not very convenient. All of the staff provided warm hospitality, which made it easy to understand why many guests are older. They took great care of us, and my parents were very happy. They mentioned that many guests are repeat visitors—and I would definitely like to return as well. We hope you will continue just as you are.

    A wonderful view and a comfortable stay

    This was my first stay. My mother, a friend, and I stayed here to celebrate my friend’s birthday. I requested a birthday cake, and they went above and beyond—from thoughtful touches with the meal to a celebratory song and even a gift. It was truly memorable. I’m very grateful for the kindness of the staff. The Room was simple yet had a wonderful ocean view, and the amenities were high quality, so I felt comfortable using everything. Overall, the service was warm and heartfelt throughout, and I would love to stay again. The bath was also excellent—the private open-air bath was amazing.

    Thank you very much for your kind support.

    We stayed in two Rooms for two guests each, including my elderly mother-in-law. From arrival to departure, the staff were very considerate, including lending us a wheelchair, so we felt at ease moving around the building and during meals. They also accommodated ingredients we cannot eat, and my mother-in-law was truly delighted. While enjoying the view from our Room and listening to her memories of Atami, we had a wonderful day. Because it is right by the sea, I was worried about the sound of the waves, but it didn’t bother us at all and we were able to rest well.

    A Welcoming Accommodation with Exceptional Hospitality

    We stayed with our 0-year-old baby, and the private open-air bath had a baby bed. They also lent us a baby bath and a diaper pail free of charge, which was very helpful. The Hotel staff were also very pleasant and kind. Above all, you can see the sunrise over Sagami Bay from the Room window. We were impressed by the wake-up call service for sunrise.

    Everything was excellent!

    This was my fourth stay. Both the Onsen and the Room were very clean, and I had a comfortable time. The sauna is low-temperature, so those who prefer a high-temperature sauna may find it a bit lacking... However, soaking in the Onsen for a while made me sweat plenty, so I was satisfied! We chose the small kaiseki course, and everything was delicious. The portion size was also very satisfying for someone my age. The drinks in the Room refrigerator were well stocked, so we could relax and enjoy our time in the Room as well. We could see the full moon from the Room, and we were also able to watch the sunrise in the morning. I would like to stay here again in different seasons. Thank you very much!

    Wonderful location, excellent hot spring water quality, and outstanding service

    The soothing sound of the waves is wonderful. Both the open-air large public bath and the uniquely themed private family baths are filled with the scent of the sea—perhaps because seawater minerals blend into the Hashiri-yu hot spring. Drinks in the bar lounge after your bath and café service in the morning lounge were perfectly timed, with exactly what we wanted when we wanted it. We’d love to visit again and again.

    It was a wonderful trip.

    We stayed here for his birthday trip. It was my first time visiting Atami, so I chose this place from among many hotels after reading Reviews and looking at photos. I contacted the hotel several times about his birthday and the Shuttle Service bus, and the staff member on the phone was very polite and reassuring. On the day, everything—from the welcome and guidance to the food and Onsen—was fully satisfying. In particular, the attendant who took care of us was cheerful, clear-spoken, and courteous, which made our stay even better. It became a wonderful memory for both him on his birthday and me on my first trip to Atami. Please let us stay again. Thank you very much.

    Excellent service

    My wife and I had a wonderful vacation at Izusan Onsen Hotel New Sagamiya. The Room was spacious and clean, and we also had dinner there. Every dish was delicious. We are especially grateful to the waitress who took care of us at dinner; her service was incredibly attentive and pleasant, making the entire meal truly enjoyable. The baths were excellent, with stunning views of Sagami Bay. The rooftop bath was also lovely.

    The bath was excellent, but the food was disappointing.

    From the warm welcome onward, I was very satisfied with the hospitality of all the staff. The bath and sauna on the first floor and the private open-air bath on the 8th floor were wonderful. They cleaned it every time a group finished, which made it feel very pleasant. It was an excellent open-air bath. However, aside from the hot pot and soup dishes, most of the meal was cold. Even though it was a seafood-focused menu—and in Atami—the sashimi wasn’t anything special, and nothing made me think “wow.” If there had at least been something like braised pork belly to change up the flavors, I might have felt reasonably satisfied. The strawberries and oranges for dessert were not tasty either. We chose the Light course; we were told that the difference from Standard was abalone and a small appetizer selection, so we chose Light thinking we could add more if needed—but none of the additional dishes looked very appetizing, which was extremely disappointing. Because the baths and staff service were truly excellent, this came as quite a shock. Back in our Room, we drank the complimentary Atami beer.

    It was very good!

    We decided on a last-minute trip to Atami. After reading the Reviews, I learned there was a course with smaller portions, which sounded perfect, so I made a Reservation. From our Room we could watch the sun set into the sea, and even from the private open-air bath we could hear the sound of the waves—our whole family was able to relax and unwind. The meal portions at the restaurant were just right, and we were very satisfied to enjoy a little of each dish. If we have another chance, I’d love to bring my parents next time!

    The best of both a Hotel and a Ryokan

    The warm hospitality and respectful sense of distance felt wonderful, and I had a truly comfortable stay. It’s not one of the trendy all-inclusive Accommodations, but all drinks in the fridge were free (including three local beers), and if available, you can use the private open-air Onsen freely without a Reservation. Dinner also came with many dishes, even grilled dancing abalone—so for me it was essentially unlimited food and drinks plus unlimited access to a private Onsen. Since it was fully booked on Saturday night, I wondered if I could really use the private open-air Onsen without any Reservation, but you can check availability on your smartphone—so if you head up to the 8th floor quickly, it’s easier than you’d think. On Sunday, heavy snow meant I couldn’t see the sunrise I was looking forward to, but sitting on the sofa by the window and sipping my morning coffee (also free) while watching snow fall over the sea was pure luxury. It’s a wonderful Accommodation that makes you want to visit in every season.

    A special accommodation where you can relax like at home

    A long-awaited accommodation that we had been wanting to visit but couldn't book until now. A few days ago, we miraculously found an opening and decided on a spontaneous one-night weekend trip. The room was thoughtfully designed with quiet yet elegant touches, including a selection of sencha and hojicha teas, as well as details like a writing box and jewelry tray—perfect for us who appreciate such nostalgic elements. The view from the room and the sunrise did not disappoint our expectations. Above all, the meals were exceptional; every dish from the appetizers onward was carefully prepared—not flashy but incredibly delicious. We loved the chirimen sansho served at dinner so much that we bought plenty as souvenirs—highly recommended! (laughs) While we can't visit frequently, we will definitely return someday. Thank you very much!

    Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. I treated my mother to a special stay at the long-established Sagamiya. The attentive services, including the drink service, were truly impressive. The plum wine served at dinner was absolutely delicious. After bathing, both my mother and I felt rejuvenated and relieved of a year’s fatigue. This has become one of our favorite places, and we’d love to visit every year. To all the staff, thank you so much for everything. We were deeply touched by your warm hospitality throughout our stay.

    Experience exceptional hospitality and breathtaking ocean views.

    Overall, I was extremely satisfied. The staff's hospitality was excellent, making my stay pleasant throughout. Both the facilities and the room were very clean, allowing me to stay with peace of mind. The ocean-view room offered a stunning view of Sagami Bay, which was truly breathtaking. Having meals served in the room allowed for a relaxing dining experience. I chose the Light Plan, which had just the right portion size for women and featured healthy and delicious menu options. The onsen facilities included a large public bath (with a kama-buro), open-air baths, and private open-air baths, offering plenty of variety to enjoy. I used the private open-air bath twice; the beautiful view from there was incredibly soothing. I also appreciated that drinks in the room were free and could be taken out, as well as the soft drink service available in the lounge. I've stayed at several accommodations in Atami before, but this one is my favorite. I would love to visit again!

    We had a very comfor...

    We had a very comfortable stay with three generations of our family. The food was extremely delicious, and even the Light Plan provided great satisfaction. This is a wonderful accommodation that makes us want to visit again.

    The view from the Room and hospitality are excellent.

    The price was relatively affordable, so my expectations weren't very high, but I was completely satisfied with the view from the room, the bath, and the meals. Above all, I felt the hospitality of the hotel staff and was able to enjoy my stay until the very end. On a Saturday during a three-day holiday in peak travel season, I was able to stay at a very reasonable price and am extremely satisfied. Thank you so much!

    Family Trip

    Traveled with my mother for the fireworks festival. The shuttle service to the venue and the rental chairs for viewing were greatly appreciated! Watching the fireworks up close was truly satisfying. The private bath, available without a reservation at any time, offered an amazing ocean view! The kaiseki cuisine was delicious as well. Our room also had an ocean view, but unfortunately, the weather wasn't great. There are no convenience stores around the hotel, but we were thankful for the hotel's bus service in the morning and around 2 PM for outings. It was our first mother-daughter trip, and we were very satisfied. Thank you!

    Private Open-Air Bath with Stunning Views

    After arriving at the Hotel, we visited the nearby "Hashiriyu" and saw the hot spring source coming out from a horizontal cave for the first time. The Hotel has a large public bath on the 1st floor and an open-air bath on the 8th floor, which were a bit inconvenient due to their distance. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the three types of private baths on the 8th floor. The abalone-centered dinner was delicious with plenty of variety, and breakfast featuring grilled horse mackerel was also delightful. We fully indulged in Onsen experiences at Hashiriyu and were extremely satisfied.

    The Best Scenic Spot in the Metropolitan Area!

    Visited after 35 years. Facing Atami Beach, the ocean view, scenery, and Onsen are absolutely amazing (recently built luxury hotels behind only offer such views from higher floors). The Room and Onsen have been renovated beautifully. It's a space where the nostalgia of Showa meets the modernity of Reiwa, offering breathtaking views and Onsen that will surely appeal to younger generations as well. However, the cuisine remains in the Showa era. While this might be preferred by older guests, a slight upgrade in both quality and quantity would be appreciated.

    It was an accommodation that brought great satisfaction!

    I have stayed at quite a number of high-end ryokans before, but this accommodation provided one of the top five most pleasant experiences I’ve ever had, despite its reasonable pricing. The shuttle service, the room attendant's hospitality and conversation, as well as the staff's overall warm and attentive service were exceptional. The room and the scenic view from the open-air bath were breathtaking. The meals were delicious and beautifully presented. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

    It was so relaxing!

    Last weekend, we decided to go to an onsen on short notice and found New Sagamiya through IKYU. Although it was labeled as casual on IKYU, the high reviews, twin room with restaurant dining, and free private bath were the deciding factors. The shuttle service from Atami and the warm welcome from the staff were very courteous. The hotel had a calm atmosphere rather than a flashy one, with three private onsens available. It was convenient to check their availability via QR code, and cleaning was promptly handled when needed. Due to our last-minute reservation, we had to inform them of food allergies on the day itself; they kindly explained which ingredients were already in use and provided excellent service for which we are grateful. Additionally, drinks in the room's refrigerator were complimentary along with other thoughtful touches throughout our stay at this accommodation. We would love to visit again as both the room, onsen experience, and meals were wonderful!
