    We had a wonderful time.

    I had heard great things about Fufu, and this was my first stay. With newly opened properties, staff can sometimes still be finding their footing and a few things may be missing, but I didn’t feel that at all here. Every staff member we interacted with was warm and welcoming, and you could really sense their hospitality and how thoughtfully they cared for guests—it made the stay truly comfortable. The ocean right in front of the property was breathtaking, and it seemed perfect for a walk. The meals were delicious, using plenty of locally sourced ingredients. They also accommodated allergies and ingredients I can’t eat very carefully, so I could relax and enjoy everything with peace of mind. I’ve already made another Reservation for next time, so I’ll be back again soon.

    The location is unique and interesting.

    I had heard from the manager of another Ryokan, “The next Fufu is being built in an incredible location,” and I’d been looking forward to it for some time. I visited on a weekday after things had settled down following the opening, and the view from the Room truly was an “incredible location” unlike anything I’d seen before. The bath was spacious, the Room layout was very practical, and the cuisine—centered on seafood—was delicious. Breakfast was especially outstanding. This may depend on the season and weather, but on the day of arrival there were quite a lot of people walking along the beach right in front, so during the day I used both the blinds and screens while bathing. There was about a 10 cm gap at eye level, so I watched what was happening outside through that opening. The next morning it rained, so I could open everything fully and enjoy the bath. The scenery is fascinating, so I think guests who don’t mind too much will really enjoy it. The rooftop view is even more impressive; however, there are few seats available, and the terrace seating has no roof and no ramp (not barrier-free). Since it was a quiet weekday with overcast skies, we were able to get seats. The “make-your-own cocktails freely” concept has a high hurdle to begin with, and with such a high counter it’s difficult to reach various items. I tried passing by several times to ask staff for draft beer as well, but there was no call bell… It felt like something that needs improvement. There was a minor issue with items in the in-Room refrigerator, but another staff member apologized during our meal; I appreciated that information had been properly shared among them.

    Truly wonderful.

    Our previous stay was wonderful, so we returned to the Ocean Suite Room less than a month later, hoping our family could experience it too. My elderly mother felt safe and was able to spend her time very comfortably. The low extra bed, the restroom close to the bedroom, and wheelchair access throughout made a big difference. She could lie down on the daybed by the window and enjoy the ocean view, and we all had a great time—an unforgettable memory. Thank you to all the friendly staff, for the fresh and excellent cuisine, and especially to those who showed such thoughtful care for my mother during meals. Traveling with an elderly family member requires careful attention to many details in an Accommodation—bed height, restrooms, bathrooms, small steps, and more. This stay truly felt like we finally found the ideal place we had been looking for. We have already made a Reservation for autumn to avoid the summer heat. We are all looking forward to our next stay as a family.

    After a while

    The location is unique and the concept is interesting—like an Accommodation perched on a cape of the island. The food and other aspects are on par with other properties in the same group. I hope to see improvements in hospitality going forward. In any case, tourists line up to visit the shoreline, so unless you lower the blinds, you can be clearly seen even while bathing. This should be improved.

    Right in front of the ocean

    Since I usually spend my days in the city, I truly enjoyed gazing at the expansive Sagami Bay from the Room and from the rooftop without ever getting tired of it. I’d love to visit again in a different season to enjoy the sea views. I’m not very fond of large public baths, so I was able to relax comfortably and take my time in the bath in my Room. The meals were carefully prepared Japanese dishes; the aroma of the dashi was wonderful, and everything was delicious. The tableware in particular was beautiful, and I looked forward to seeing what kind of dish each course would be served on next. It’s also great that you can get there easily with a single Keikyu line from Shinagawa.

    I was bothered by mosquitoes during the night.

    After 2:00 a.m., I was bothered by mosquitoes. It wasn’t just one—I ended up killing 10. I called the front desk, and they brought insect spray and something for insect bites. However, the “bite medicine” was actually a disinfectant for wounds. When I mentioned what happened at checkout, I was told there is mosquito repellent provided in the Room, but the front desk staff hadn’t informed me—perhaps they didn’t know. That was very disappointing. Also, breakfast took a long time to be served. It’s a shame because the Room had great views of Mt. Fuji and the ocean.

    Perfect in every way!

    We stayed here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. The Room was spacious enough for the four of us to relax comfortably, and everything—from the interior design and the large bath to the scent in the Room—was simply outstanding. The cleaning was impeccable, and we were amazed that the bath uses transported hot spring water; it warmed us up wonderfully! Since we arrived early, we were shown to the free-flow lounge, where we enjoyed breathtaking ocean views and relaxed on the outdoor sofas. The light snacks were a nice touch as well. Even though I requested ice for our drinks late at night, they promptly placed it in a dedicated box for us, which we truly appreciated. At dinner, every dish was delicious and served with such perfect timing that it felt like they could tell how quickly we were eating. Even our daughter, who usually eats very little, finished everything. It truly felt like an Accommodation filled with hospitality—our whole family said on the drive home that we’d love to come back. We will visit again. Thank you very much.

    Having stayed at FUF...

    Having stayed at FUFU Nikko, Nara, and Seiyo no Mori, I am commenting based on a comparison with those properties. [Dinner] Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the meal overall, except for the first dish and the spiny lobster I ordered for an additional fee. Given the location near Misaki, I had high expectations for the tuna; however, it was very sinewy and the texture was not pleasant. The other sashimi and sushi also felt dry and came across as comparable to conveyor-belt sushi, which honestly surprised me. As for the original cocktails, they tasted weak and did not meet my expectations. Overall, dinner gave me the impression that costs were being kept down. It did not reach the standard I expect from the FUFU brand, and I hope it will be brought up to a level comparable to other FUFU Accommodations. [Guest Room] I felt that the view from the room was better than at other FUFU Accommodations. On the other hand, the room itself had a simple design and felt somewhat lacking in luxury. With more attention to furniture and interior details, it could be even more appealing.

    It was new, clean, and very nice.

    We visited Fufu Jogashima to celebrate my birthday after having had my eye on it since it opened this March. The Facility is brand-new and beautifully clean. The Room has a separate living area and bedroom, which made it very comfortable and easy to use. The chaise lounge by the window was wonderful, and above all, the in-room Onsen was amazing. The water felt silky and left my skin moisturized, and the slightly lower temperature was exactly how I like it—I could have stayed in forever. I also loved that the shower controls are button-operated, so there’s no chance of accidentally turning a knob and getting blasted with water from above. Most of the staff are young, but everyone was polite and attentive. There were also some international staff members, and their sincere effort left a great impression. Relaxing at the rooftop lounge with drinks and snacks while looking out at the sea felt truly elegant. The food featured lots of local seafood, and everything was genuinely delicious. For the selectable main dish I chose Wagyu sirloin, which was excellent as well. Since we were celebrating, they kindly took photos for us during dessert. Breakfast was plentiful too; because there’s so much rice, I asked for just curry roux on the side—and that was delicious as well. From the moment we entered the Room, a lovely aroma filled the space; I liked it so much that I bought that same scent at the shop to take home. I’m planning to use it when relaxing at home too. Jogashima is close to central Tokyo and easy to get to—I’d definitely love to return again.

    I was able to relax in a quiet environment.

    - The view of Sagami Bay from the rocky shore was breathtaking—worth the trip for this alone. It was a shame we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, but we hope to catch it next time. - The meals were carefully prepared Japanese cuisine, and we were very satisfied. The service was also attentive and excellent. - We were able to relax in the in-Room bath, but we didn’t really need the stone sauna, so we’d prefer a larger bathroom instead.

    The location and the Facility are excellent! That’s why it’s such a shame that only a few things fall short.

    This was my first trip to Jogashima, and my second stay with the Fufu brand following Atami. With an outstanding location at the tip of Jogashima, the views were spectacular, and I was moved to see Mt. Fuji from the dining area as well. The staff were also very kind and attentive. The Room was pleasantly compact and comfortable, making it easy to relax. I especially appreciated being able to enjoy a hot stone sauna in the Room—it was truly soothing. That said, the bathtub is a bench-style design, which is nice for half-baths, but it felt a bit narrow to soak up to the shoulders even for a woman’s build. Also, when I moved the brochures on the table, I noticed cup rings left by a previous guest still there, which was disappointing. As for dining, I liked being able to choose the main dish and everything was delicious overall; however, only the tuna sashimi I had been looking forward to was truly disappointing. The lean tuna had no aroma at all, and the medium fatty tuna had an unfamiliar texture as if there were sand in it—I'm sorry to say it didn’t suit my taste. Also, please note that the road just before reaching the Hotel is quite narrow and there are many pedestrians, so those arriving by car should take extra care. There were a few unfortunate points, but overall it’s a wonderful Accommodation, and I would love to return for another try if given the chance.

    Stayed for two consecutive weeks and fully enjoyed Fufu’s signature hospitality.

    I have been staying with the Fufu brand for many years and have visited properties in Hakone, Atami, and Kawaguchiko, among others, and my stay at Jogashima was also truly wonderful. It is easy to access from central Tokyo and offers spectacular views, so I liked it so much that I stayed two weekends in a row. Even though this time I made a last-minute Reservation after 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival, the team kindly accommodated my child’s allergies, for which I am very grateful. The meals were delicious, and the service from all staff felt consistently excellent. As a champagne-loving family, we were also happy to see a great selection of Plans that include champagne. The Diamond member benefits were highly satisfying as well, making our stay feel special. In particular, the service allowing guests to enjoy alcohol freely from 2:00 p.m. was outstanding; spending relaxed time while looking out over the sea felt truly luxurious. On the other hand, since the restaurant appears to offer only Japanese cuisine, we would be even happier if there were additional options such as Western dishes when staying for a Multiple Night Stay or visiting multiple times. Also, we stayed in the same Room both times; however, because it was one of the few Rooms with a ganbanyoku stone sauna bath area attached, we ended up being very comfortable again this time. Of course I would love to try other Rooms as well if possible—but this one is definitely a favorite. Regarding the rooftop bar: I wanted to ask a staff member for alcohol service but no one was present, and I could not find an internal phone or any way to contact someone on-site, which was slightly inconvenient. Improving this point would make future stays even more comfortable. That said—between the stunning views, pleasant service, delicious food, generous free-flow offerings (and more)—this has become one of my favorite Accommodations that makes me want to return again soon.

    A Typhoon Day!

    None of the nearby shops were open, and we arrived early, but they kindly let us check in. Since the ocean is right in front of the property, it was a great experience to see such rough seas for the first time. Inside felt like a different world—calm, quiet, and very comfortable. The only disappointment was that it was extremely windy on the 4th-floor lounge terrace. Still, we were able to relax indoors with drinks and snacks. Both dinner and breakfast were perfect! Everything was incredibly delicious. All of the staff were pleasant as well, and we truly enjoyed a relaxing staycation. If I had to ask for one thing, it would be a large public bath... Hopefully we can visit again on a sunny day next time.

    Moved by the staff’s hospitality

    When we used the lounge, a male staff member kindly offered to take photos and captured wonderful shots of the scenery and our family. The lounge cocktails are self-mix, but I was impressed by his hospitality—when other guests asked, he cheerfully made drinks like gin and tonic and brought them to their seats. Since we were traveling with children, they also suggested bringing our dinner course a little earlier, which was very helpful. They also gave us a very warm send-off at check-out. The service was truly outstanding. The bath had a reclining area where you can lie down in the water, and it was so relaxing—I could have stayed in forever. The only disappointment was that tourists could occasionally be seen from the Room window. In the morning bath, I had to close the curtains because otherwise it felt visible from outside. While enjoying coffee on the sofa by the window, I felt eyes on me and noticed an elderly couple staring up at us, which was surprising and made me feel like we were being watched. I hope there will be some countermeasures next time we visit.

    The Accommodation, staff, and everything else are very good, but...

    I stayed here in early June. The Room, service, and meals were all excellent. However... My Room had a ganbanyoku (hot stone spa), and the instructions said to open the window while using it. When I left the window open for about 20 minutes, several biting midges came in and I was bitten in multiple places. I managed to kill two, but I confirmed that two more were still in the Room... Mosquitoes also come in. I understand it may be unavoidable due to the season, but I wish this had at least been mentioned in the precautions. Since there didn’t seem to be a screen door (perhaps for appearance reasons), there was no way to prevent it... I’m currently dealing with an allergic reaction typical of these bites.

    It was wonderful.

    With the Pacific Ocean, a stunning sunset, and Mt. Fuji all right in front of us, we were able to truly relax and enjoy a peaceful stay even for just one night in this nature-rich setting. The staff were also very friendly, and we enjoyed many pleasant conversations. The meals were excellent as well—fresh seafood, and each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. The Onsen temperature felt a little low to us at first, but when we requested it to be warmer, they responded immediately. We were also very happy that before check-in they guided us to the terrace so we could relax and take our time. It also seemed like other guests were having a wonderful time. We look forward to visiting again when the season changes. Thank you very much.

    All good.

    Among the Fufu properties, Jogashima may be the best for both service and dining. I wanted to stay in the largest suite Room, but it wasn’t available so we downgraded; still, we were more than satisfied. However, it was a bit concerning that people were on dates, taking photos, and children were playing right in front of our Room. They were there from early morning as well, so we kept the curtains closed and didn’t use the open-air bath with full privacy. Especially during the summer season when many visitors come, I hope some measures can be taken in advance.

    An ocean view and exquisite seafood cuisine you can’t experience at any other Fufu

    We were fortunate to have great weather, and the view from the 4th-floor rooftop lounge was outstanding—the rocky shoreline of Jogashima, the crashing waves, the sea stretching to the horizon, and the pleasant breeze. At dinner, we were also able to enjoy a slowly setting sun and the beautiful silhouette of Mt. Fuji floating between the clouds—an invaluable experience unlike any other “Fufu.” Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, especially the seafood dishes, which surpassed those at other “Fufu” properties. It would have been perfect if there had been a large public bath and sauna with ocean views. One minor disappointment was that in the in-room semi-open-air bath, when water overflowed toward the window on the sunroom side, it leaked directly into the sunroom and left its floor soaking wet. This seems like an area for improvement. We would like to stay again in a season like this one, when you can feel such a pleasant breeze in the rooftop lounge.

    It was a wonderful accommodation, very much like Fufura.

The bath in the Room was a nice brown Onsen, but it was a bit disappointing that there was a step, making it hard to soak comfortably. I thought that changing how the step is designed might allow for a more relaxing soak. It’s also close to my home, so I’d like to stay again.

    Looking forward to what’s ahead

    I stayed on the opening day. I’ve visited Sekaie several times and really like it, and I’d been wanting to try the “Fufu” brand as well, so I chose the newly opened Jogashima. I learned the opening date through KPG’s email notice and wanted to stay on day one (I believe it was originally 3/13), so I made a Reservation. However, at some point the date was changed, and I didn’t realize it until I read a news article. At first, I couldn’t secure a Reservation on IKYU, but after checking again I found there were only a few Rooms left, so I rebooked. A message to KPG: please inform guests who booked through your website that “the opening date has changed.” I believe that kind of communication is the foundation for building trust. As someone who runs a business, I honestly felt surprised that this wasn’t handled despite your wide-ranging operations. As for my Room in Jogashima: the bathroom exhaust fan was small, humidity built up easily, and it was hard for sweat to dry. It may depend on the Room location, but because people could see in from outside, we couldn’t open the curtains. We were also surprised to find a fishing hut right in front of us. In the restaurant—again depending on where you sit—the counter seats by the window had staff constantly passing back and forth behind us while serving others, which made it difficult to relax during our meal. That said, the food tasted great with generous portions, and we were very satisfied. Since it was opening day I’m sure things were challenging, but there was an energetic atmosphere; the staff had bright smiles and seemed happy. We enjoyed our stay as well. Knowing KPG’s standards, I’m confident you will continue improving Jogashima.

    We enjoyed a relaxing meal and the Onsen while taking in the ocean view.

    I learned about Fufu Jogashima during my stay at Fufu Tokyo Ginza and made a Reservation. This was my fourth stay with Fufu. We enjoyed the ocean view and watched both the sunset and sunrise. There was an Onsen in our Room, so we could relax at our own pace. The meals focused on seafood, and we were able to try a wide variety of dishes. At breakfast, the sardine fish-ball soup included clams, and one of the clams my daughter ate had a pearl inside—everyone at the Hotel got very excited together with us. If you use public transportation, you’ll need to take a bus or taxi. It would be even better if there were a Shuttle Service like at Fufu Atami or Fufu Hakone. Since it’s close by, I’d like to visit again. Thank you in advance when we do.

    The view was breathtaking.

    I discovered this Accommodation while it was still under construction, and I had been hoping to visit once it opened, so we stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The view from the Room was wonderful, and the meals were delicious. We were able to relax and take our time. However, driving to the Accommodation was a bit challenging due to the large number of pedestrians. I understand it can’t really be helped.

    The cuisine, service...

    The cuisine, service, and the view from the window were all wonderful, and I was able to truly relax. Thanks to the attentive care of all the staff, I felt comfortable throughout my stay and am very grateful. It was an excellent Hotel that I would love to visit again.

    Wonderful

    This is my second stay in a row, continuing from three weeks ago. The attentiveness is outstanding. It’s every bit as good as the other Fufu properties. The crashing white waves are truly cleansing for the soul. The bath area feels a bit dark. It would be even better if there were a large public bath.

    As many Reviews mentioned, the room we stayed in felt cramped overall—the inner terrace, the open-air bath, and even the living area. For this price, I couldn’t really relax at this Accommodation. I’ve stayed at Fufu with my family more than 20 times, but this is the only Accommodation where I wouldn’t expect a second stay.

    While the meals were excellent, the guest room did not meet our expectations.

    We are a couple from Yokohama who love the sea and traveling, and we visited for our 30th wedding anniversary trip, having traveled to many coastal destinations in Japan and abroad. This was our second visit to Fufu, following Kawaguchiko. Overall, the dining was outstanding, and all staff provided courteous, smooth service. On the other hand, the room-centered design felt a little different from what we had expected, as we hadn’t fully grasped the Accommodation’s concept. We stayed in the Sunset Comfort Suite. Because the room was divided into an inner terrace, an open-air bath area, a living room, and a bedroom, the windows were small and it felt more compact than it actually was. We should have chosen a layout that better matched our expectations. Also, blinds were down on the windows by the open-air bath area, so we couldn’t feel connected with the sky or sea. We couldn’t hear ocean waves from inside the room, there was no window in the bedroom, and we weren’t able to wake up with natural light. On the other hand, at the rooftop terrace there is an expansive view and comfortable sofas where you can enjoy free-flow drinks—we had a wonderful time there. The meals were also excellent: made with local ingredients; served in small portions with many varieties; beautifully presented; and delicately seasoned. As a resort just 1.5 hours away via toll roads from our home, we have high hopes for future visits!

    Guest-focused perspective

    As it has only recently opened, I didn’t go in with high expectations, but it was disappointing even beyond that. I won’t go into details, but it lowers the overall standard of KPG. There are many issues that need to be addressed before even talking about hospitality, so please review everything again from the guest’s perspective.

    A functional bathroom for a comfortable stay

    What always impresses me about Fufu is the in-Room bath. The bath in this Room was also well designed, with a great balance between the shallow and deep areas, so I could enjoy different styles like half-body bathing and lying back to soak. It was a bit disappointing that a hut—like a beach shack—was fully visible through the window, but there’s a walking trail nearby for sightseeing, and since there are few other Accommodations in the area, it feels truly one of a kind. At other Fufu locations (Nara, Atami, Tokyo, etc.), there are many nearby Accommodations where you might think “it doesn’t have to be Fufu,” but on Jogashima it’s basically Fufu or nothing. If you stay here, you can cover most of Jogashima sightseeing. I saw staff picking up fruit sweets from a nearby café, so they may be using that café’s items for lounge snacks. If so, that’s a win-win (it’s a popular café).

    Right by the beach!

    It’s built almost right on the coast—amazing. Below your Room is a seaside promenade (if you wave to people walking by, they’ll wave back). Even while indoors, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Jogashima. A Multiple Night Stay is highly recommended. Fufu’s meals are overwhelmingly better than other Hotels in the same price range (both in quality and quantity), and the Jogashima-style cuisine—different from other Fufu properties—is also outstanding (seafood-focused; even the requested breakfast curry is a seafood curry). The view varies by Room (depending on the direction, some Rooms offer sunrise and Mt. Fuji views while others do not), which makes returning even more enjoyable.
