    Although we did not ...

    Although we did not have a Room on the Lake Tazawa side, we could still see the lake and enjoyed the sunset during dinner. The meal featured delicious dishes with a strong Akita character, which felt perfect for our first day in Akita. The bath was spacious for a private family bath, and the changing area had a small raised tatami space, so I would recommend it for families with children as well. The dining area was conveniently located right in front of our Room, but we sometimes noticed food smells even outside mealtimes. In the morning it smelled pleasantly of broth, so it is hard to say whether that is good or bad overall. Everyone at the Accommodation was kind and helpful.

    There are no extravagant services, but I was fully satisfied.

    Our family of four stayed for one night. As the title suggests, there are no flashy services at all, and the Room feels like an old-style Ryokan, but the building is well maintained. The Onsen is small, yet it was never crowded and we could relax comfortably. There is a dining room in the Room, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Not only were the ingredients great, but I believe it also reflects the chef’s skill. For that alone, I felt it was worth making this our regular Accommodation.

    A beautiful Hotel with views of Lake Tazawa

    It was pleasant that everything—from the lobby and hallways to inside the elevator—was covered with tatami mats. Right after check-in, we were welcomed with cold matcha tea, which was a nice touch. Both breakfast and dinner were served in a private room across the hallway. The simmered kinki (rockfish) was especially delicious. The staff were also very attentive. I think it would have been perfect if face towels were provided in the large public bath.

    The bath was great.

    1) There were no towels at the sink in the guest Room toilet, which was inconvenient. 2) When I was shown to my Room, no one helped carry my luggage, which surprised me. 3) The private family bath was very nice. 4) There was a reasonable variety of food, but the flavors lacked creativity and nothing stood out as particularly delicious, which was disappointing. 5) The Room itself was very nice, but overall I don’t think it offered good value for money.

    A Wonderful Stay

    Having a dining area attached to the Room was very convenient, and we were able to relax comfortably. The meals were carefully selected and very delicious. All of the staff were pleasant as well. We would definitely like to stay again.

    Dining in a private room was excellent.

    It was great to be able to enjoy meals at a relaxed pace in a private dining Room just across the hallway from our Room. Recommended for family or group trips, and we were also able to fully enjoy Akita cuisine. The tatami-mat hallways throughout the property were very comfortable as well.

    A private in-room dining space exclusively for your room.

    One of the main reasons we chose this Accommodation was the private dining room, which provided a calm and relaxing space to enjoy our meals. The food was excellent, including Akita “Nishiki Beef” grilled on a ceramic plate, and we were able to fully enjoy local Akita specialties made with locally sourced ingredients. We were also very satisfied with the free private family bath with a small raised tatami seating area.

    It was a wonderful stay.

    It was smaller than I expected, but I had a comfortable stay. The meals were especially delicious and generous in portion size, so I was very satisfied. The staff were kind and created a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The parking lot is across the road right in front of the Hotel, but it can be a bit hard to find, so please be careful.

    Savor the Blessings of Spring

    Captivated by the deep blue of Lake Tazawa, I had often taken day-trip drives there in recent years, but wanting to fully enjoy the fresh greenery and mountain cherry blossoms together, I decided to stay one night at an Accommodation by the lakeside. Even though it was a last-minute decision after checking the weather forecast, I was able to make a Reservation for a wonderful Room at just the right time. From the warm welcome of delicious sweets and matcha tea to the very end, thanks to all the staff who served us with heartfelt care, we were able to spend our stay in great comfort. It was such an Accommodation that I can hardly recall anything but good memories, and in particular, the meals were far beyond what I had imagined. Freshly prepared dishes brought out one by one—such as sashimi, dobin-mushi (steamed soup in a teapot), and beef grilled on a ceramic plate—were beautifully presented so that you could feel spring with all five senses. I also never expected to encounter sea urchin served in its shell. Breakfast was equally delicious, generously featuring ingredients from Akita. This was a truly high-quality Accommodation that I would love to visit again someday in another season.

    We enjoyed the Onsen and cuisine during our 3-day, 2-night stay.

    We stayed for two nights, and the meals were different each day, so we enjoyed dinner and breakfast twice. The baths are available 24 hours a day, so you can relax without worrying about the time. The private family bath was also great. It was a shame we couldn’t use the open-air bath due to roof damage from the snow. Also, the WBC was on and we wanted to watch it on Netflix, but there was no HDMI cable, so we went out to buy one and were able to enjoy it. For guests who plan to relax in their Room, it might be nice if internet streaming access were available.

    It was a delightful accommodation.

    It was raining heavily, so we arrived at the accommodation early and waited in the lobby. Once our room was ready, we were guided to it earlier than expected. The private onsen bath was spacious, clean, and provided a relaxing warmth. The meal portions were modest but incredibly delicious, and we were impressed by the mountain vegetables we tried for the first time. On our departure, even though it was just us, the accommodation's bus kindly took us to the station. We are grateful for the attentive service from all staff members. We would love to stay again—this is truly the best accommodation in Tazawako, Akita!

    We were welcomed wit...

    We were welcomed with a warm atmosphere, just like returning to our family home, and received heartfelt hospitality until the end of our stay. The meals were delicious and generously portioned, leaving us very satisfied. Unfortunately, we couldn't use the family bath as the timing overlapped with other guests. The view from the Room was stunning, with the moonlight reflecting on the lake at night creating a breathtaking scene. Thank you very much!

    A warm accommodation with a sense of history

    A warm and historic accommodation located near Lake Tazawa. The highlight was the meals, offering a perfect portion of Akita's local cuisine. Although the onsen is not naturally sourced due to its proximity to the lake, it is brought in and was very relaxing. Amenities were fully provided in the room, which was convenient. The women's large bath also had a variety of shampoos and body soaps, making it well-equipped. The staff were polite and kind, making it a wonderful accommodation experience.

    Accommodation with Delicious Meals

    You can enjoy a view of Lake Tazawa from the room, and meals are served in a private dining room near your accommodation, allowing you to relax with your family. The fresh sea urchin with shells from Sanriku and sashimi were delightful, and the grilled Akita beef was also flavorful. There were many elaborate dishes to enjoy as well. The staff at the accommodation warmly welcomed us, making it a truly relaxing day.

    A relaxing space was provided.

    The accommodation is very clean, including the large public bath, as it has not been long since its renovation. The entire facility has tatami flooring, so after taking off your shoes at the entrance, you can move around barefoot to places like the large public bath. This allows you to relax as if you were at home and makes for a very comfortable stay. Additionally, with a private dining room available, you can close the door and enjoy meals with your family without worrying about others around you. The meals were highly satisfying in both quantity and quality; I especially enjoyed having hot pot even for breakfast—it was so delicious that even I, who usually eat little in the morning, went for seconds of rice. Unfortunately, we weren't blessed with good weather during our stay; however, being very close to Shirahama makes this an ideal location for exploring Lake Tazawa.

    Meals in the private...

    Meals in the private dining room allowed for a relaxed experience without the need to move around. The local cuisine was perfectly seasoned and very delicious. During the meal, the door to the room was fully open, which made us worry that our voices might echo into the hallway. While we understand it may be for staff convenience, we would have appreciated if the door could be closed. The Onsen was very pleasant and enjoyable. Thank you!
