    Enjoy spectacular fireworks from your Room

    We were talking with friends about wanting to see the Atami fireworks, and that’s how we found Atami Terrace. We’d often seen it on Instagram, so although it was a bit pricey for us, we decided to make the Reservation since it was a special occasion—and we were absolutely thrilled! Nothing blocked the view: an amazing collaboration of the sea, illuminations, and fireworks right in front of us. The powerful sound that you could feel in your stomach was truly moving. The service was just as impressive as the fireworks. The buffet meals—both dinner and breakfast—offered great variety, and unlike many Hotels like this, there was hardly any waiting in line. For my friend who has trouble walking and uses a cane, there was a cart that could carry a tray while moving around, and she seemed happy to be able to choose as much as she wanted. We were also surprised by the all-you-can-drink beer. We also enjoyed plenty inside the Hotel—late-night soba noodles, plus tea and sweets in the lounge. And with the beach right in front of you, I think it would be perfect for swimming too. It’s beautiful overall, and the Room is compact but well organized—we felt relaxed throughout our stay. We’ve already made another Reservation for the November fireworks festival. We’re really looking forward to it.

    My Second Stay at La Vista Atami Terrace

    My first stay was in May on the trial Plan, in the East Wing with a private Onsen. Everything was excellent. This time I stayed in the North Wing, fourth floor. The corner room was spacious, and the furnishings were chic and lovely. This time I used the panoramic bath for the first time; last time I wasn’t used to bathing with swimwear and decided not to go in. I’m glad I did this time. I also enjoyed freshly squeezed mandarin orange juice available from early morning in the lounge—it made me very happy. To the male staff members who worked so hard despite being busy, thank you; it was incredibly delicious. One thing I noticed while bathing: it said tattoos are prohibited, but several women with many tattoos were using the bath, which made me uncomfortable. If you truly want this to be a prohibited rule, please make it larger and easier to understand—the ambiguity concerned me. Lastly, thank you to the driver for providing Shuttle Service through heavy traffic—I still made it to my Shinkansen on time.

    Great location.

    We booked after watching a travel YouTube channel. Having two bedrooms and an open-air bath was great, but it was disappointing that the bath wasn’t hinoki and felt like a standard bath. We were told the Hotel was new, but perhaps due to the design, it still felt somewhat dated. The complimentary mandarin orange juice was exactly to our taste and very delicious. Plenty of water was provided—more than enough—and the free drinks, late-night soba, ice cream, and other services were excellent. We had high expectations for the meals because YouTube reviews said they were great, but they didn’t really suit our preferences. Items like turban shell were just typical grilled seafood; we would have preferred to eat them with soy sauce. The crab also had almost no flavor. It may have been intentionally seasoned in a less conventional way, but tastes will likely vary. It’s a shame—if the food had been better for us, we would have wanted to come back. We also wished the cable car ran a few times at night. Most of the staff left a very good impression. We believe first impressions of a Hotel often depend on the first staff you meet, and we were especially happy with how sincerely the man guiding cars into the parking area assisted us.

    We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

    This trip was originally planned with my wife, but due to her sudden illness and after considering various options, I unfortunately ended up traveling alone. Since it’s a new Hotel and seems to be popular, I was a little worried that I might feel out of place on my own. However, once I arrived and started communicating with the Hotel staff, I was truly impressed by their hospitality. Everyone made me feel welcome, and although I felt sorry for my wife, the staff’s warm service helped put me at ease even while traveling alone. As a new Hotel, the Facilities were well equipped, yet nothing felt overbearing—I had a very comfortable stay. Next time, I would definitely like to visit again with my wife. What began as an uncertain trip turned into something reassuring thanks to the staff’s kindness and concern. Thank you very much.

    Stay at La Vista Atami Fireworks

    It was our last trip with three friends. I really enjoyed it, but one of my friends almost got lost and didn’t seem to have a very good impression. It’s a shame.

    We stayed for one night and two days. It was a very clean Hotel, and the staff were kind, making it a wonderful memory!

    The service is attentive and thorough.

    This was our first time staying here. When I mentioned that my husband has difficulty walking, they prepared a Room close to the front desk and dining area. The Room was clean and comfortable. In the service area on the third floor, we could freely enjoy ice cream, beer, drinks, and snacks. In the evening, we could also have complimentary late-night soba. We really appreciated these thoughtful services. Next time, we would like to bring our children and their families as well. Thank you to all the staff.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    A bit pricey, but I was satisfied. The location is great and the beach is close. Atami Ginza and Atami Station are within walking distance, but the uphill walk to the station is tough. I wish there were more bus services. The Japanese breakfast is not a buffet, so you can enjoy a calm meal, which was nice. Unfortunately, while the other staff were pleasant and helpful, the woman with glasses at check-in was not. Also, the reservation-only open-air bath was fully booked and I couldn’t make a Reservation. Overall, it’s an Accommodation I’d like to visit again.

    It was a truly wonderful trip.

    The Hotel staff were very attentive, and we were satisfied with everything—from the Room layout (ideal for two families) to the meals. The only disappointment was that there was no view at all from the large public bath. The location from the reservation-only mixed-gender bath was wonderful, but we weren’t sure it was worth making a Reservation just for that. Still, overall it was a memorable and enjoyable trip. Thank you very much.

    Both the building and the Room were new, and the Room was spacious. I enjoyed the in-room Onsen many times while looking out at the ocean. The meal was a Japanese course, and every dish was very satisfying. There was plenty of seafood, and it was delicious. Although it was only one night, I felt truly refreshed. I would like to stay here regularly in the future. Thank you for a wonderful time.

    A Hotel near the sea with an Onsen

    From check-in onward, the staff were courteous and attentive, allowing us to start our stay feeling comfortable and welcomed. What stood out most was the dining. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of options, and everything—from the sashimi onward—was delicious and highly satisfying. We also enjoyed the free-flow drinks, which really enhanced the travel experience. The Onsen was wonderful as well, and we used it many times, including the open-air bath. The facilities were kept very clean throughout, making for a relaxing stay. As this is a popular Accommodation, the restaurant and common areas could get crowded depending on the time of day. Even so, the quality of both the meals and the Onsen more than made up for it—this is a Hotel we would gladly stay at again. Thank you for a lovely time.

    We’d love to stay here again.

    I was surprised by how unfriendly the male front desk staff were—more than at any Hotel or Ryokan I’ve stayed at before! The food was very delicious, the facilities were very clean, there were several complimentary services, and the baths were excellent! However, since we stayed on the first floor, everything was visible from outside, so I couldn’t use the open-air bath in our Room that I had been looking forward to. Couldn’t more consideration be given to prevent it from being seen? We used this stay for my husband’s birthday trip, and he was happy and said it was the best Hotel ever! I’d like to stay again! Next time, I really hope we can stay in a Room other than on the first floor!!!

    Signs of improvement

    I stayed here three months ago, and it seemed to have improved a bit. This review was written by my companion. I had heard that check-in could involve a long wait, but it was completed quickly, which was good. After the late-night noodles, I went to the lounge for a beer, but as of after 9:00 p.m., the machine was broken, which was disappointing.

    I really enjoyed my stay.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and had a wonderful time. Thank you. In fact, as a milestone after retiring, I wanted to sit in my Room and quietly gaze at the ocean while reflecting on my years of work. I requested a Room with a good ocean view, but unfortunately it was on the first floor—while I could see the sea if I stood up, when seated it was blocked by the hedge. Then I hoped I might be able to see the ocean from the large public bath, but there was no view at all. The reservation-based private panoramic bath did have a great ocean view, but using it alone felt a bit uncomfortable since it meant having the large bath entirely to myself. Because I specifically looked for an Accommodation where all Rooms have an ocean view and explained my purpose in advance when making my request, it was disappointing that I couldn’t achieve what I came for. Also, regarding the Shuttle Service bus to Atami on departure day: it was first-come, first-served, but the bus stop location wasn’t clearly indicated. We could only confirm with other guests waiting nearby (“Is this the right place?”), which made me uneasy. If it is first-come, first-served, I would appreciate clear guidance on where to line up. That said, your Facility and services were excellent—very much what one would expect from Kyoritsu—and I was extremely satisfied overall. Even as a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and was able to enjoy myself fully. Highly recommended. Thank you again.

    Unlimited Onsen Enjoyment

    I recently stayed at La Vista. From the guest room, I had a panoramic view of Atami’s beautiful sea, which alone made it feel like a special getaway.\n\nThe Onsen I’d been looking forward to was excellent—not only the large public bath, but also a great selection of complimentary private baths where I could relax at my own pace. There were also plenty of free services, such as ice cream and probiotic drinks after bathing, plus the late-night “Yonaki Soba,” which made me happy again and again throughout my stay.\n\nThe meals were also very satisfying in both portion size and taste. When I visit Atami again, I would definitely like to stay here again.

    The dining area was small.

    As it is new, the facilities are clean. Meals were buffet-style, but the serving area was narrow, making it hard to get food without bumping into others, and the tables were small two-person tables, so it wasn’t a relaxed dining experience. The Onsen was better than expected, so next time I think I’d choose a Plan where I can dine in a private room and take my time, or even go without meals.

    It was delicious.

    The Facility was clean, and the meals were full of fresh seafood. I was very satisfied. The only thing I was unhappy with was the coffee at the buffet venue. It was too strong and bitter for me. It reminded me of coffee I had in Thailand, and I didn’t feel like having more than one cup. Other than that, I was satisfied with almost everything and had a comfortable stay.

    The new Hotel is nice.

    Since YouTube and other sources mentioned that the wait times could be quite long, I took action early. As a result, there was little waiting time and I was able to use the facilities comfortably. However, the open-air bath in the Room was not a hot spring. I made a Reservation for a Room with an open-air hot spring bath, so that was a bit disappointing.

    Great!

    What I loved most was that beer, soft drinks, and even ice cream were all free. I went back for the beer more than once, haha. Also, the Room was spacious and clean, and the bed was great too! I didn’t use the large public bath, but I did use the private bath. It doesn’t require a Reservation—you can enter when it’s available—so I waited for an opening. I rated the Facility/amenities 4 because it was far too cold inside. It felt like a refrigerator. The front desk area wasn’t cold, but the hallway outside the Room was freezing, so you cool down quickly after bathing. It might be nice to have something to throw on over the loungewear. Also, the uphill road to get to the Hotel is intense—but that became part of the memory too. Overall, it was absolutely wonderful.

    My first trip to Atami in a while. I heard that a new Hotel by Kyoritsu Resort had opened, so I stayed there right away. Regarding the buffet food mentioned in other Reviews, it had been improved enough that it didn’t bother me at all. I was very satisfied with the selection as well. I also really enjoyed the Facilities such as the lounge and baths, and the staff were kind and helpful—overall, it was great. However, there were a few things about the Room that concerned me. The Room itself had a great view and was very comfortable. But when I entered and sat on the sofa, there were many small feather-like bits left on places like the sofa armrest, TV stand, and table. Also, there was hair left in the open-air bath in the Room from a previous guest, which made me hesitate to use it. That was very disappointing. Aside from the Room cleaning issues, I was very satisfied overall. My father also said he would like to go again, so I hope this will be improved by our next stay. Thank you very much.

    This time, I stayed ...

    This time, I stayed here to see the jacarandas at Atami Sun Beach. The jacarandas looked beautiful from the Hotel—amazing! The private bath was very relaxing. It would have been even better if shampoo had been provided. The beer in the lounge was delicious. The light soup snack was also great. The late-night ramen was delicious too. Even though it was No Meals Included, I enjoyed many things.

    A beautiful Hotel in an unbeatable location!

    I visited with high expectations, knowing this La Vista had just opened. With Atami Sun Beach right below, the jacarandas in full bloom in June, and “Omiya no Matsu” nearby, the location was outstanding. However, there is room for improvement in systems that keep guests waiting, such as slow front desk service, the outdoor connecting corridor (it was unfortunately raining that day—winter may be cold), and the strict security for the large public bath. The room was new and spotless. The cypress open-air bath had plenty of hot water, and I used it twice. The bed was spacious and comfortable, but there was no toothbrush so I had to go to the front desk. The buffet offered a wide variety of tasty dishes, and I appreciated being able to get refills of draft beer. That said, the roast beef and sashimi were sliced far too thin; even the beef simmered in red wine came in very small slices—everything felt undersized and not very satisfying. Having stayed at La Vista Hakodate before, my expectations were extremely high, so by comparison I was a bit disappointed. It seemed to attract many groups of women guests. I hope they will highlight something different from Hakodate—for example by offering more sweets and desserts.

    About a month after staying at La Vista Hakodate, I stayed at La Vista Atami. The Accommodation was very clean, and the meals were delicious, so I was satisfied. It was disappointing that I could only use the rooftop panoramic bath once.

    I had high expectations since it is a new Hotel, but the buffet selection was limited. However, the sashimi and sushi were very fresh, and the tempura and sukiyaki were delicious. It was disappointing that the large public bath did not have an ocean view even though it is right in front of the sea. The road into the parking lot is narrow, and Rooms are spread across three buildings; to get to meals or the bath you need to go outside and then enter another building, so it may feel cold in winter.

    Overall, we were very satisfied. Since it is still a new Hotel, the Room and Facility were very clean. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet-style, and you can choose your dinner time at check-in, so I recommend checking in early. We chose 17:30; dinner seating was assigned, while breakfast was open seating. The buffet gets crowded and there can be lines, so it’s best to go early. It was also great that dinner included unlimited sparkling wine, white wine, red wine, beer, highballs, and soft drinks. In addition, the lounge offered beer and soft drinks as well as cookies, ice cream, arare rice crackers, etc., which made it very relaxing. The downsides were that the parking lot was hard to find and we stayed in the East Tower, so it was a bit far to the restaurant and the large public bath. However, since we were on the 16th floor, the view from the in-room open-air bath was great and our stay was very comfortable.

    The relaxation was excellent.

    The Facility and Room were new and very comfortable. However, it was disappointing that there was no view at all from the large public bath. The meals were delicious, but it was disappointing that there was no standard buffet curry. The female staff member at the relaxation service was very skilled, and I was able to relax.     My expectations may have been too high.

    Thank you for your hospitality the other day. Overall, I was satisfied, but perhaps my expectations were too high, so I don’t think I would return. [What was good] - There was a Shuttle Service bus - Free drinks were available - Check-in and check-out did not involve much waiting - I could use a private Onsen - The guests were mainly Japanese tourists [What was disappointing] - Even though I paid over 20,000 yen per person with breakfast included, my Room was on the first floor. When using the bath, there is a possibility that passersby could see you naked. - I came to see the ocean, but the view did not meet expectations. - The free lounge and late-night soba get extremely crowded. It’s not possible to use them in a relaxed way. - There wasn’t anything at breakfast that I found particularly tasty.

    Honest feedback

    I was really looking forward to staying at La Vista Atami, but I felt a bit uneasy because the woman at check-in seemed confused and close to panicking, and I wasn’t fully satisfied with the service from the man at Kaizo. Other than that, I was very satisfied with the room, the Onsen, and the meals.

    We enjoyed many things during our two-night stay, but there are also some areas we’d like to see improved.

    Having stayed at several Kyoritsu Resort properties in the past, such as Dormy Inn and Nono, I was already familiar with their systems. I also read every Review on each Reservation site in advance, so nothing caught me off guard. As noted in the Reviews, check-in gets crowded and the lounge is small for the size of the Hotel, so I planned accordingly to avoid any inconvenience. However, even though I changed my payment method from pay-on-site to card payment a few days before arrival, I was asked at the front desk, “How would you like to pay?” When I said I had changed it, I was told it had not been updated. Only after showing my IKYU screen and insisting that it clearly indicated card payment did they finally confirm it. I’m not sure where staff are checking this on their side, but it doesn’t seem set up to be confirmed at a glance. When they first said, “Well, you can also pay at check-out…,” it felt like they didn’t trust what I was telling them. I would appreciate it if staff could make a habit of confirming details on their system first. I always book as pay-on-site and then switch to card payment a few days before my stay, and no other Hotel has ever told me that my card payment wasn’t reflected. For dinner and breakfast on the first night we chose the buffet; on the second night we chose Japanese cuisine for both meals. The variety made both experiences enjoyable. Since we scheduled plenty of time at the Hotel, we were able to enjoy almost everything: the lounge, large public bath, private baths (reservable), in-room open-air bath (rotenburo), and late-night ramen. Also, because the shuttle bus is small and runs infrequently, improving this would likely make it easier for elderly guests to visit more comfortably. On our departure day there was severe weather; even when we called for a taxi none came. Staff checked passenger numbers by the upper lift area and then again below; since some guests were left behind they said another run would be made. I believe this issue stems from having buses that are too small with too few departures relative to occupancy. Carrying large luggage up a hill to reach the station in strong wind and rain is extremely difficult. I hope you will consider adding more shuttle services.
