The Ultimate Solo Getaway
I truly enjoyed Kanazawa’s cuisine from the bottom of my heart. I learned so much—about Kanazawa’s culture and local ingredients. This is purely my personal impression, but I felt that the guest rooms, dining, and hospitality were on par with luxury hotels I have stayed at in Japan and abroad, such as Aman, Bulgari, Okura, and Palace.

The food, Room, and ...
The food, Room, and hospitality were all excellent. The only downside was that I didn’t think the parking location was very convenient. I will definitely return. Thank you very much for your kind service.

Our family of four stayed for two nights. The Room, service, and staff hospitality were all outstanding. The location was convenient for getting anywhere, and while we had checked the Room on the website beforehand, it was even nicer than we imagined. It was spacious enough for four of us to stay comfortably. The staff were kind, and above all, the meals were excellent. We had breakfast twice and dinner once; each dish used plenty of local ingredients and was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. We would love to stay here again when we visit Kanazawa.

Wonderful Ryokan
Although I was a little concerned because this long-established fine-dining restaurant has reopened as an Accommodation under new ownership, it turned out to be far beyond my expectations—an outstanding Accommodation. First, on arrival we were welcomed in the tea room with Yoshihashi’s traditional Japanese sweets—one of Kanazawa’s most renowned names for fresh confectionery—served with a bowl of usucha (light matcha). The Room had reportedly been renovated at a cost of 100 million yen per suite, and the attention to detail shows throughout. The furnishings are, of course, superb, and the floral arrangements in particular have excellent taste. These days, meals at a Ryokan are often served in a separate dining venue, but here they are served in your Room. What’s more, there is a dedicated private dining room next to the bedroom. You can simply move there when it’s time to eat and close the door afterward—without worrying about bedding being laid out or cleared away, or dishes being collected—and relax without feeling self-conscious around the Facility staff. Everything is designed with guests’ comfort as the top priority, so I was able to truly unwind without any stress. As for the cuisine, it features top-quality ingredients with a strong commitment to local production for local consumption. The head chef—who has trained at many renowned restaurants—also finishes some dishes in each Room as part of the experience. Every dish was exceptionally delicious. I have stayed at many Accommodations through IKYU, but this may well have been the best Facility I’ve experienced. Because it is still new and not yet widely known—and Reservations are apparently still relatively easy to secure—I highly recommend this place for discerning adults who value authenticity and would like an exceptional stay.

Heartwarming hospitality and exceptional cuisine
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and throughout our stay—right up until we were seen off—we felt heartfelt hospitality at every turn. The guest room and open-air bath were spacious and comfortable, and thanks to the staff’s natural attentiveness and thoughtful care, we had a truly relaxing stay. Breakfast in particular was excellent, featuring plenty of local ingredients, with each dish carefully prepared. It was beautifully presented as well, making for a luxurious start to the day. We did not have dinner this time, but after being so impressed by the breakfast and the hospitality, we would love to enjoy dinner on our next visit. It was a wonderful stay that will remain a cherished memory—the best Ryokan Accommodation we have ever stayed at.

This is a wonderful accommodation!
I’ve stayed at many Onsen Accommodations, but it’s rare to find an Accommodation where both dinner and breakfast are outstanding across the board—Tsurukou is exactly that kind of place! I still remember how incredibly fresh the ayu was, and how delicious it was without even noticing any small bones. It makes me want to eat it again even now. Each dish was exceptional; you could really feel the quality of the ingredients and the chef’s skill in every bite. I want to visit in every season—spring, summer, autumn, and winter! The Room with a private sauna was also very comfortable, and both the head chef who served our meals and all the staff were wonderful. Their explanations of each dish and the sake were perfect—so enjoyable and truly informative. It was such a fun experience with exquisite food that became an unforgettable, precious memory. A truly fantastic Accommodation! Next time: matsutake in autumn, then crab and yellowtail in winter—I can’t wait!

Exceptional hospitality
In addition to the spacious, clean Room and delicious meals, what made me happiest was being able to chat with the staff about many different things. I had breakfast at the counter near the kitchen, and I especially remember talking with the owner about Kanazawa proverbs, local ingredients, and sightseeing recommendations. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again someday.

A Luxurious Solo Getaway
I finally visited Tsurukou, which I’d been curious about for a long time. I’ve stayed at many luxury Ryokan, but this was the best—everything was perfect: the Room, the food, and the hospitality. Shiro-ebi (white shrimp), uni (sea urchin), nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), Noto beef... They’re particular about their ingredients, and everything was truly delicious. It was my first time trying nodoguro, and I was amazed by how rich and flavorful it was. They chatted with me a lot, so even traveling alone I had a wonderful time. Even after returning home, the experience stayed with me. I’ll definitely visit again in another season. From welcome to farewell, it was comfortable throughout. Thank you very much.

An Accommodation you’ll want to return to again and again
Everything—from the service and meals to the beauty of the Facility—is top-notch. The food, in particular, is outstanding in both quality and quantity! The Japanese-style breakfast was also excellent, and we were completely satisfied. If you’re looking for a Kanazawa trip where you can relax in your Room at your own pace and enjoy the open-air bath again and again, this Ryokan is the only choice.

We had a luxurious stay.
This was my first stay here. I was impressed by everything: the staff’s hospitality, the quiet setting that doesn’t feel like it’s in the city, and the wonderful meals served in the Room. The excellent bedding also helped me recover from travel fatigue. I would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The Room was spacious and spotless, and above all, the private Onsen was large enough to relax in comfortably, with a sauna as well—an indulgent Onsen experience. Dining in the in-room dining area was outstanding; the ingredients were excellent, and every dish was impressively delicious. This time, the firefly squid dish was finished right in front of us by the chef before being served. We also had breakfast at the kappo restaurant, and having freshly prepared dishes made right before our eyes from the morning felt like pure luxury. The Room, bath, meals, and service—everything about this stay was the best experience we’ve had among all the Accommodations we’ve visited so far. We would love to return during crab season.

Casual Hospitality
A Casual, Unpretentious Accommodation with Warm Hospitality The recently increasing trend of Rooms with open-air baths has been thoughtfully incorporated into a well-designed in-town setting. With a ReFa hair dryer, Nanof clothes for relaxing, and a carefully selected selection of complimentary items in the refrigerator, it felt clear that everything was arranged to help guests unwind comfortably. They even turned the leftover clay pot rice from dinner into onigiri so we could enjoy it later at our own pace. They also created a dedicated pantry space to support in-Room dining service. Although it isn’t as spacious as something like Kamenoi’s detached villas, there were thoughtful touches and clever ideas throughout to help guests truly enjoy the food. I especially recommend the Japanese breakfast—it’s outstanding. The Western option (Hiramipan) is delicious as well. I also heard the wagashi are from Yoshihashi, and since food is one of the biggest joys of travel for us, we were happy to be able to enjoy two popular local favorites without having to go out of our way. It seems they have only recently opened. Once the initial wave of curiosity-driven guests (myself included) settles down, I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of Accommodation this becomes.

The meals are exquisite.
We stayed here for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and we were able to relax and enjoy a peaceful time as a couple. What we liked - The meals were outstanding. Kaga vegetables, Noto beef, and Kano crab—everything was delicious, gentle on the stomach, and truly impressive. (I had an upset stomach before our stay and couldn’t finish everything, which I regret.) - Great flexibility in adjusting the room temperature and lighting. - Stylish interior with a clean feel. - Even though it’s surrounded by regular roads, it was an incredibly quiet space. (We heard an ambulance once, but that can’t be helped.) - The matcha was excellent. - The staff’s attentiveness was wonderful. Points to improve - It may be helpful to do a final check after housekeeping. (There was some trash left on a chair, and the information sheet provided was in English.) - It didn’t bother me much, but my husband said the wooden bath stool was uncomfortable. - It would be helpful if facial cleanser and skincare items (toner/lotion and cream) were included in the amenities. (If they are available only upon request, guests may not notice—so informing guests at check-in would be even more considerate.) At JPY 200,000 per night it isn’t inexpensive, but including the dining experience we were very satisfied overall. Thank you very much.

An accommodation where you can experience the charm of Kanazawa with all five senses
This Accommodation made our stay truly fulfilling, with the charm of Kanazawa felt in every detail throughout. The meals were prepared right in front of us in a fun atmosphere, featuring everything we hope to enjoy in winter Hokuriku—starting with snow crab and winter yellowtail—cooked to perfection at the best possible moment. Savoring each dish while listening to the careful explanations was pure bliss, and we fully enjoyed Kanazawa’s wonderful cuisine both morning and evening. We also had a tea ceremony in the tea room, where we were served matcha and hanabiramochi (from a famous shop I had long wanted to try!). Both the taste and the experience were outstanding, and I was truly happy to have such a precious time. The Room was comfortable, with thoughtful attention to every detail—everything was perfect. Above all, the staff’s kind, warm hospitality and excellent teamwork made us feel completely at home, creating an unforgettable stay. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality.

The in-room facilities and dining presentation were excellent, and we were able to relax in a wonderful space.
The spacious, serene Japanese-style atmosphere from the entrance to the guest Room was wonderful. We were served matcha and sweets in the tea room, and when we were shown to our guest Room, the setting shifted from Japanese to Western—an elegant, stylish Room with plenty of space. The bath, sauna, and all Facility fixtures used in the water areas were top of the line. Dinner was delicious with great care put into each dish, but since I had expected a crab-focused meal, I was a little disappointed. Thanks to the warm, attentive service and gracious manner of the staff member in charge of hospitality, as well as the kind personality of the chef, we were able to spend a very pleasant time. The counter seats seemed intended for walk-in guests from outside, and it was far too cold to sit there in loungewear. I recommend having meals served in your Room. Thank you for your polite greetings and send-off during the Shuttle Service. If my budget allows it, I would like to visit again.

We experienced the essence of Japanese hospitality here.
I booked immediately after it was featured on TV. The food (crab dishes) was astonishing. This is the most exquisite Kano crab I have ever had. The excellence of Ishikawa's ingredients, the quality and quantity of the cuisine, and the explanations were outstanding. The Room and its private bath were new and luxurious—absolutely flawless. It's a place I want to visit again at least once more in my lifetime.

A flawless Kappo Ryokan
A high-quality Ryokan with only 4 rooms offering an exceptional experience. It was a perfect stay that needed no detailed evaluation. If I may point out, the breakfast venue was a bit cold, and the indoor slippers were small without larger sizes available or provided. Thank you for your hospitality; we thoroughly enjoyed the crab!

Luxury Cuisine Ryokan
Saw the TV show and made a reservation immediately. The room has a spacious design, and the scent of the newly built wooden room leaves a good impression. The underfloor heating is also excellent. The open-air bath is large and pleasant, but it's slightly disappointing that there’s no view as the neighboring house is right outside the window. My wife mentioned that not having lotion or toner was a downside, but other facilities (towels, hairdryer) are well-equipped with high-quality items. During the welcome matcha service, seeing the crab to be served for dinner heightened our expectations for the meal—a nice touch. Meals are prepared in front of you by the host using ingredients mainly from Noto and Ishikawa regions, accompanied by explanations about each dish—absolutely delicious! The crab rice featured on TV was especially delightful. Breakfast was equally impressive with two types of freshly cooked rice served for comparison—both were incredibly tasty! Among all dishes, their thick omelet stood out as particularly delicious; breakfast itself was an unforgettable experience. This accommodation makes you want to stay just for its meals! One minor drawback might be that since it transitioned from being a restaurant to an accommodation facility, there’s no waiting area available anymore.

We had the best family time.
We stayed in a separate accommodation as a couple with our 2-year-old child. The open-air bath was spacious, with the perfect temperature, and we enjoyed it four times during our stay as a family. The snowy scenery added to the experience, and our child seemed to have a great time. The amenities and mini-bar were well-stocked with delicious items like beer and Kaga Bocha tea, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The dinner we had been looking forward to exceeded expectations. Everyone was friendly and engaging, making for an enjoyable and memorable time. The meal featured an indulgent crab course that was so delicious we could have gone for seconds or thirds! For our daughter, they kindly prepared a special strawberry dessert—despite its large size, she happily finished it all. While traveling with small children can sometimes be challenging for parents like us, the warm hospitality allowed us to relax and enjoy this one-night stay fully. Having been featured on TV recently, reservations may become harder to secure in the future. However, we would love to visit again as a family!

A refined, meticulously polished Ryokan with an elegant atmosphere
I booked assuming meals were included since it is an auberge, but it happened to be a day when the chef was off, so they kindly recommended a wonderful kappo restaurant. No matter when I called, the staff were always polite and warm, and I truly felt their hospitality. At check-in, they prepared authentic matcha for us in the tea room, which was very moving. Since it had only been open for one month, everything felt new and refreshing. The guest room was a luxurious space in calm tones, with every furnishing carefully selected. The only disappointment was that the soundproofing could be better: perhaps because the window glass is thin, traffic noise from the street came through clearly. Also—maybe from the hallway—footsteps echoed occasionally throughout the night; my companion couldn’t relax and slept anxiously all night, worried someone might come in. Personally, I would have preferred not to have TVs in both the living area and bedroom. When my companion turned on the TV at a loud volume, it immediately made things feel too ordinary. The semi-open-air bath was spacious and relaxing, and we also enjoyed the mini sauna. Next time, I hope to enjoy a Plan with meals included.

A Japanese-style auberge welcoming families with children
The auberge welcomed children, which is rare for such accommodations, so we stayed at the detached "Jihaku." Renovated from a historic Japanese restaurant into a traditional-style auberge, my son was initially nervous about the sophisticated atmosphere. However, the friendly staff quickly put him at ease, and he grew to love the accommodation. We were especially looking forward to the meals this time. In the dining area within our room, we enjoyed freshly prepared Kano crab while listening to explanations about each dish. It was undoubtedly the best crab we've ever had. The other dishes featuring Kaga vegetables were visually stunning and delicious as well—a truly exceptional experience that made us want to visit again in another season after hearing more about their offerings. Thank you for preparing only soft drinks in our refrigerator since we had informed you beforehand that we do not drink alcohol. If possible, it would have been nice if skincare amenities could be provided directly in the room instead of being request-based. The onsen in our room was at just the right temperature and allowed us to relax fully. Overall, it was a wonderful accommodation where we could unwind completely. Thank you very much!

A must-visit destination of a lifetime.
This was the most wonderful Ryokan experience of my life. I stayed at the detached "Jihaku," where the exterior exuded Kanazawa's traditional Japanese atmosphere, drawing me into the serene world of Tsurukou even before stepping inside. The tea offered by the elegant hostess upon arrival was truly exceptional. The room had a private dining area, and watching the chef prepare kaiseki cuisine right in front of me was an unforgettable experience—the flavors were beyond anything I’ve ever tasted. It became a lifelong memory. During this season, I highly recommend trying Kobako crab. I relaxed in the sauna and open-air bath, and during breakfast, I received recommendations for sightseeing spots as well as hidden gems known only to locals. From start to finish, everyone at Tsurukou engaged with us warmly and kindly—I am deeply grateful to them all for making this trip so special. It turned out to be an incredible journey! I will definitely stay here again someday. Thank you so much!

An exceptional accommodation beyond expectations
I stayed for one night to enjoy the autumn in Kanazawa. The warm smiles of the staff who welcomed us immediately eased my nerves. We had a delightful experience in a tea room, enjoying traditional tea ceremony with delicious sweets and matcha, even as beginners unfamiliar with the etiquette. The Onsen water was soft, at just the right temperature, allowing us to relax while feeling the fresh outdoor air. We also enjoyed the prepared beer and champagne. Dinner was spectacular, featuring Kaga snow crab and matsutake mushrooms. The staff remembered that it was my husband's 70th birthday and kindly prepared red rice for us—it truly touched our hearts. Breakfast was equally memorable with the fragrant aroma of grilled fish, faint sounds of chopping on a cutting board, and steam rising from two types of freshly cooked rice. Each dish reflected the care and thoughtfulness of the chefs; everything was so delicious that I couldn't help but ask for seconds multiple times. Located conveniently close to tourist attractions, we were able to enjoy not only relaxing Onsen but also exquisite cuisine with an air of elegance. I am deeply grateful to all the staff for their hospitality and sincerely hope to visit again someday!
