    I enjoyed Gunma.

    I chose Hotel Kogure, highly rated in IKYU Reviews, because I wanted to see lambs at Ikaho Green Farm. Although the building itself is old, it was as clean as the ratings suggested, with great views and well-maintained Facilities. Every member of the Hotel staff was pleasant, and we enjoyed a full selection of Gunma ingredients in the meals. I felt their efforts to make guests comfortable in every detail. I didn’t make it in time for cherry blossom season at Ikaho Green Farm, but the double-flowered cherry blossoms were also beautiful, so I’d like to visit again next year during peak cherry blossom season.

    We went on a trip with three generations of our family for the first time in a while, combining my parents’ wedding anniversary and my daughter’s graduation trip. We searched for an Accommodation with delicious food where we could relax in the Onsen and enjoy the scenery, and Kogure came up right away. Just as the Reviews said, everything was wonderful, and it turned into a truly satisfying trip. All of the staff provided very pleasant service, and my parents were deeply impressed. The food was excellent, and the baths were amazing! We would love to stay with Kogure again. To all the staff, thank you so much for two unforgettable days.

    The customer service was excellent!

    I stayed here with my sister for my birthday. Since it was my actual birthday, we received a complimentary sparkling wine. Every member of the staff provided outstanding hospitality—warm smiles and thoughtful little extra touches. I’ve stayed at three other Hotels in Ikaho Onsen, and this one is by far the best. We enjoyed both the generously sized bath (almost comically spacious) and the garden open-air bath. If I had to mention one thing, the water temperature felt a bit low. The sauna was also comfortable, and the löyly-style performance was quite fun. The meals were excellent as well—great flavor, variety, and timing. We had a top-floor Room, and with clear weather the view was breathtaking. Overall, it was a wonderful Accommodation with an excellent balance in every aspect.

    The bath is wonderful.

    The baths are wonderful. I have stayed here before and came back looking forward to the baths. They were exactly as expected. My grandchild, who stayed with me, also loves the Onsen and said, “The Onsen and the Facility are both excellent.” Since this trip was planned for my grandchild, I was relieved that it turned out so well.

    We traveled with our 3-year-old child and 4-month-old grandchild, so the spacious dining area and the comfortable Room were very helpful. The staff’s service and hospitality were especially wonderful, which made it ideal for traveling with children. We also enjoyed the many types of Onsen, but having only one bath towel was a bit limiting—having at least two would have been appreciated.

    A Ryokan that warmly welcomes smokers

    We stayed here as a family of four. The spacious, spotless Room, the large public bath, the staff’s warm hospitality, and of course the excellent meals made it a wonderful memory.<br> What I personally appreciated most was how well the smoking rooms were set up. These days it can be tough for smokers—at even well-known Ryokan, smoking areas are often just a token corner of the lobby or simply an ashtray placed outside. Here, however, smoking areas were thoughtfully located in key spots such as the lobby, dining area, and beside the public bath, and each one was spacious and very well maintained. (This won’t matter to non-smokers, of course.) It felt like true separation between smoking and non-smoking areas was achieved, which was very comfortable.<br> It was my first time visiting Ikaho Onsen, and now I want to go again. A great Ryokan!

    An Accommodation we’d love to stay at again with our family.

    We stayed here for our first family trip after our baby was born. From check-in, the staff carried our luggage as soon as we arrived, and we were able to check in comfortably at a sofa seat with a drink—no waiting in line. The Room was spacious and spotless, and the Facility and amenities were well stocked. They also provided baby soap and a diaper disposal bin, which was incredibly helpful. We chose a Room with an open-air bath, which made bathing our child easy, and it was wonderful to relax in it after our baby fell asleep at night. Dinner was served in the Room. While we were putting our child to sleep during setup, the staff prepared everything very quietly and thoughtfully. They also brought out all courses at once instead of serving them one by one, which allowed us to enjoy dinner at our own pace while keeping an eye on our child. The food was absolutely delicious! The large public bath was also very spacious—we were extremely satisfied. With check-in at 2:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM, you can truly relax at the Hotel, which is a great point when traveling with a baby. Everyone at the Hotel was consistently polite and attentive. There is also a kids’ space, so it seems like it will be even more enjoyable when our child is a bit older—we’ve already said we definitely want to stay again.

    It was the best birthday trip ever!!

    Ikaho Onsen was a place he’d been wanting to visit for a long time, and I’m so glad we chose Hotel Kogure for his birthday trip! Check-in was at the front desk, and the Room key had a digital panel that displayed dinner/breakfast times and the time for our reserved private bath, which made everything very easy to understand. Our Room was a Japanese-Western style room with an open-air bath. It was by far the best in-room open-air bath we’ve ever had! We were also happy to find ReFa amenities. I do think having a few more towels would have made it even better. We used the private bath with a sauna, “Utsukushi-no-Yu.” You can buy drinks and ice cream beforehand and bring them in. The sauna was over 90°C and you can do aroma löyly, which was amazing. The cold bath is 37°C, so we cooled off by rinsing with cold water in the shower. Dinner was served in the dining area as a semi-buffet. The buffet items didn’t leave much of an impression, but I was really happy to try Joshu beef as sukiyaki! After dinner, they brought cake to our Room. We were also surprised to receive alcohol as a birthday gift from the Hotel! Breakfast was also a buffet in the dining area. The live kitchen with omelets and tempura was fantastic! Personally, I loved that they had coconut milk tapioca. Above all, every staff member was cheerful, welcoming, and wonderful—thanks to them we had such a comfortable stay. I’ll work hard so we can come back again! Thank you so much!!

    An Accommodation with Exceptional Breakfast and Baths

    I stayed at Hotel Kogure in Ikaho Onsen. To be honest, considering the price, the Room didn’t feel like great value. However, the breakfast and baths were truly wonderful! The breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, all delicious and very satisfying. The baths were spacious with many different tubs, and I was able to fully enjoy the Golden Onsen. If you’re coming for the Onsen and breakfast, this is an Accommodation I’d like to stay at again.

    It was an excellent accommodation.

    After finishing my time living abroad in the United States, I wanted to fully enjoy the Japanese atmosphere, so I chose Hotel Kogure from among many Accommodations. The service, Room, meals, and baths were all outstanding. All of the staff provided courteous service that made me feel at ease. The attendant who served our in-room meal was cheerful and polite—truly a pleasure to meet. This trip also celebrated my son’s university acceptance, and our family was deeply moved by the Hotel’s thoughtful gestures. It was my first Onsen trip in Japan in a long time, and this Accommodation was truly exceptional in every way. I will definitely return.

    We chose the chef’s ...

    We chose the chef’s choice breakfast and dinner Plan. The Room was spacious, had two sinks, and was very clean. The baths were wonderful. We didn’t use the in-room bath, but we fully enjoyed the open-air bath and other baths. Our skin felt silky smooth afterward. There was plenty of space to dry our hair, so we didn’t have to wait or feel cold. It would be nice if there were colorful yukata for women to choose from.

    A Weekend Trip to Ikaho

    The bath was spacious, and the meals were delicious. The Facility and service were excellent, but it was quite disappointing that there were many families with preschool children, and many kids were running around the bath and dining area the entire time. I hope it can be a bit quieter.

    Stay in Ikaho with us.

    I have stayed in Ikaho Onsen several times, and among the long-established Accommodations, I think this one is the best. First of all, the view is expansive and simply wonderful. The meal portions are a bit large for an older couple, but aside from that, the food, Facility, and Onsen were all impeccable, and the hospitality was outstanding as well. (It was my birthday month, and I was pleasantly surprised by a mini wine gift!) With an air of dignity and refinement backed by history, this is truly a superb Accommodation.

    Enjoyed the golden Onsen. The Facility and Room were spacious overall, with great views, cleanliness, and comfort. Dinner was very delicious, and we appreciated the careful handling of special requests. Breakfast was also enjoyable as it was a buffet, which was refreshing compared to typical Onsen Ryokan breakfasts. As for suggestions: It would be nice to have a magnifying mirror and an extra towel at the washbasin area. The concrete floor in the large public bath felt slightly uncomfortable on bare feet; more mats would be helpful. It would also be better if the large public bath were closer to the Room.

    This was my first visit, and I felt the Hotel's detached attitude was somewhat unsatisfactory. For example, I was told to check the emergency exit myself, and when I requested a salad for dinner, they said they couldn't provide items not on the menu. It was disappointing considering how much variety there is at breakfast buffets. Additionally, group guests were given priority for the best window-side seats due to their reservation. Most places I've stayed before have had excellent service, so this experience was quite surprising. However, aside from the rice at dinner, the food was very delicious.

    I stayed at the accommodation for my husband's birthday. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by the staff's pleasant service.     Common in large Ryokans...

    Located near the stone steps street and situated on a hill, this Ryokan offers an exceptional view. The large public bath is spacious with various types of Onsen to enjoy fully. Although I initially did not expect much from the cuisine, assuming it was a large-scale Ryokan catering to groups, each dish was carefully prepared and tasted amazing, leaving me very satisfied. On the other hand, perhaps due to the long weekend, group guests had reserved the night dining area and snack bar exclusively, so I couldn't enjoy a drink after dinner. Additionally, the private open-air bath in my room was not Onsen water, which was slightly disappointing. However, with excellent staff service overall, I had a wonderful experience. I would love to visit again during another season!

    A Maternity Trip with Delicious Special Kaiseki Cuisine

    A special Kaiseki meal Plan with a private open-air bath in the room for a little splurge! Depending on the number of guests, you can choose to dine in your Room. We opted for in-room dining and enjoyed an incredibly delicious meal while watching TV. The breakfast buffet featured rare tempura, which was crispy and so tasty that we went back for seconds. The large public bath also had an open-air bath, offering a spacious and relaxing atmosphere—perfect for our maternity trip! For expectant mothers, meals can be adjusted upon prior request (the dishes shown are from the standard menu).

    A trip to Ikaho with my parents.

    To be honest, I usually prefer small luxury accommodations with open-air baths attached to the room rather than large hotels or ryokans. However, in Ikaho, I always choose to stay at Kogure. This year, I visited in June but decided to return in November as my elderly parents expressed their wish to visit Ikaho. We indulged in a delightful dinner featuring a variety of delicious dishes from Gunma and enjoyed a luxurious breakfast buffet in a bright and spacious dining area. The large public bath offers various types of baths that never get boring. Even my mother, who usually takes quick baths, found herself soaking leisurely while commenting on how much effort it must take to maintain the facilities. My father even went around the grand garden bath twice! With perfect weather and stunning mountain views, it turned out to be an incredibly enjoyable trip for our family of four. We look forward to visiting again!

    Good Points: - The variety and spaciousness of the baths were very satisfying. - Both the in-room dinner and the breakfast buffet were delicious. - The room was clean, equipped with a high-quality hairdryer, and had a smart TV, which was a nice touch. Points of Concern: - It would have been even better if the private open-air bath in the room used Onsen water. - It was disappointing that there was a limit on available bath towels. - The private open-air bath might be visible from outside when trying to enjoy the view.

    An exceptional Ryokan with no complaints

    We were finally able to visit the Ryokan that my son had been recommending for a long time during our family trip. The Room was clean, and the private open-air bath in the room was very relaxing. The large public bath had many types, all of which were clean and enjoyable. Dinner was freshly prepared and brought to our Room, which made us very satisfied. Breakfast was a luxurious buffet with a great view. We would love to visit again in a different season!

    Onsen Trip

    I stayed here for my first trip to Ikaho. The Onsen had a variety of options, which was great. The open-air bath was very relaxing. It would have been better if the open-air bath in the room also used Onsen water. Meals were served in the room, and everything was delicious. I requested a massage as there was an exclusive masseuse available. When we asked for two massages, one of the masseuses was blind, and unfortunately, their massage felt more like gentle stroking rather than actual massaging, which was disappointing. I would have preferred someone who could provide a proper massage since massages are part of what I enjoy during trips... The breakfast had many options and was enjoyable as well. Everything tasted great! If I have another opportunity, I would love to stay again!

    A Memorable Anniversary in a Special Place

    We stayed at this accommodation to celebrate my husband's birthday and our son's first-year milestone, as it is a memorable place my husband visited during a family trip in the past. The lobby was spacious, and we were warmly welcomed with cheerful service at the reception. Two new staff members undergoing training were present, and they greeted our son with big smiles, which made him very happy. While being an established hotel with many experienced staff members, there were also many young staff who were energetic and lively. ■ About the Room The room was spacious, allowing our son to walk around exploring everywhere. The open-air bath had a great atmosphere where we could relax comfortably. We had requested Hollywood twin beds during the reservation process so that all three of us could sleep side by side. ■ About Meals Dinner was served as kaiseki cuisine in our room. The attendant carefully served each dish while explaining them at an appropriate pace for us to enjoy comfortably. They kindly warmed up baby food for our son and provided child-friendly plates, which we greatly appreciated. Their gentle interaction with our son helped him behave well throughout the meal. He also loved the frog-themed baby chair. ■ About Public Bath I was truly amazed by how spacious it was! Upon entering for the first time, I wandered around wondering which bath to start with because of its size. The view from there was beautiful and very soothing. I also liked that they alternated between male and female baths. ■ About Private Open-Air Bath We reserved "Ureshino Bath" on the day of use since public baths are too large for our son at his age—it turned out to be a perfect choice! There were baby bathtubs and baby body soap available so he could fully enjoy his bath experience here. At checkout time (as we stayed until almost last minute), we encountered cleaning staff who greeted us cheerfully—it left such a positive impression! Additionally, one male front desk staff member spoke kindly to my son before saying goodbye warmly: "Please come again!" It felt like he genuinely loves children—this made me really happy too! Lastly (and possibly being young proprietress judging by her attire), another lady gave us heartfelt farewell greetings while engaging sweetly with my little boy—I’m deeply grateful for her kindness! We would love staying here again someday!

    It was an accommodation full of hospitality!!

    I used it for a celebration. It is a very prestigious Hotel. Check-in was smooth, and all the staff were courteous. I enjoyed the course meal, which was carefully presented even down to the tableware, making it delightful both visually and in taste! The guidance was smooth, and the drinks I ordered were served promptly. I am extremely satisfied! The baths include an observation bath and a garden bath, both spacious enough to relax in. I also enjoyed a private bath. The post-bath relaxation area is comfortable as well—simply put, it was amazing!!! I am deeply grateful to all the staff members—thank you so much!

    Highly satisfied.

    The staff provided warm and genuine service, which was truly delightful. The meal portions were just right, and everything was delicious. At the breakfast buffet, they even handed out a paper indicating the location of the food items, which showed thoughtful consideration and made us happy. My husband also said with great satisfaction, "If we visit Ikaho again, it has to be Kogure."

    The bath, meals, and room were all excellent! I was also impressed by the staff's thoughtful hospitality. As expected of Hotel Kogure, the number one in Ikaho. I will definitely return!
