    We were extremely satisfied!

    The cuisine, Room, Onsen, and service were all excellent. It truly made us want to come back! At the end of our summer vacation, we made wonderful memories here and felt motivated to work hard again. We have stayed at other Accommodations in Ikaho several times, but Kogure is the best. Please continue your warm hospitality and bring comfort to many more guests.

    It was great.

    I reserved a Japanese-Western style Room with an open-air Onsen bath. The Room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. It may have been renovated, but it didn’t feel old at all. Although it’s called an open-air bath, it has a roof, and I was initially worried it might be visible from the Accommodation across the way; however, it seemed to be closed down, and there were no lights on at night, so it wasn’t an issue. The large public bath was also very spacious and spotless—possibly the best among the Accommodations I’ve stayed at so far. I usually can’t stay in the bath for long, but there were several different tubs and I really enjoyed them. The beer (paid) I had in the lounge area after bathing was excellent. Dinner was served in the Room, which made it easy to relax and enjoy a delicious meal without worrying about others. The view from the breakfast venue windows was wonderful, and the buffet had a great selection—I was very satisfied. I deducted one star because there was no escort to my Room (perhaps due to staff shortages), but everyone’s service was good overall. If you’re visiting Ikaho Onsen, this is an Accommodation I would recommend.

    I’d love to stay here again!

    We stayed as a family of three on a trip to visit a grave. We’ve been to Ikaho many times, but this was our first time staying here. It turned out to be a wonderful choice! It felt like there was plenty of space per guest. In addition to the signature Onsen, the dining area, the vanity area after bathing, and the relaxation spaces were all spacious, so we could unwind without worrying about others. The staff’s thoughtful, unobtrusive check-ins and consideration were also excellent. The meals were creatively prepared using ingredients from Gunma. We also appreciated that dinner portions weren’t overly large. Although it’s a long-established property, it has been renovated, and even the amenities seemed carefully considered. Above all, the abundant Onsen water was fantastic. Next time we’d like to check in earlier and fully enjoy it—before dinner, after dinner, and again in the morning.

    It was a very nice accommodation.

    We stayed at this Accommodation with my daughter and her husband—four of us in total—on our first trip to Ikaho. When we informed them in advance that my daughter was pregnant, they kindly replaced the sashimi with boiled shrimp. Their responses by phone and email were courteous, and all the staff were very pleasant. There were many baths, and the clean, well-kept interior was also excellent. Thank you very much for taking care of us! This is an Accommodation I can confidently recommend.

    Breakfast buffet

    We stayed here as an elderly couple. The breakfast buffet was crowded and we had to wait, and the table we were first shown to wasn’t very good, but partway through we were kindly offered a move to a larger seat with a great view, so we could relax and enjoy our meal. Thank you very much. We have been coming to this Accommodation for 60 years (since I was in junior high school). Back then it was a wooden Ryokan, but the standing bath in Akayu remains unchanged. The Tsugaru shamisen live performance at night was also wonderful.

    Highly satisfied.

    My family stayed here simply to relax. We were very satisfied with the Room, the service, and the meals. Above all, the Onsen was so soothing and made us truly happy. The breakfast buffet was also excellent and delicious. We would definitely like to visit again.

    I’d love to stay here again!

    This was our family’s first stay. Despite being a long-established property, both the lobby and the Room felt luxurious and were very clean. The baths were spacious with plenty of options, so we could relax and enjoy them. The changing area was very clean and comfortable to use. Above all, the meals were excellent. We enjoyed them in a private dining room without worrying about other guests, and could relax as a family. Every dish was delicious. We would definitely like to stay again.

    There were many baths, and it was excellent.

    I reserved a Room with a private open-air bath, but the large public bath was so spacious and had so many baths that I didn’t end up using the one in my Room. One day wasn’t nearly enough time, so next time I’d like to stay for two nights. At the footbath, you can order drinks and sweets at the counter and enjoy them while soaking your feet, so being able to have a beer was fantastic. The meals were also delicious. At the breakfast buffet there were so many things I wanted to try, but there were too many options for my appetite to keep up. I think I could fully enjoy it all with a two-night stay as well. It’s a Hotel where everything you need is available in a classic-style interior, which felt pleasantly nostalgic, but perhaps because the Facility has been renovated, it didn’t feel outdated at all. There are restrooms throughout the building, and every one of them was clean. One note about the baths: I wondered if the private open-air bath in my Room might be visible from other Accommodations on higher ground nearby, so it would be nice to have some screening or blinds. In the public bath as well, when you get close to the windows it felt like it might be visible from outside, so additional privacy measures there would make guests feel even more comfortable. That said, it was a wonderful Hotel overall, and I would recommend it to family and friends!

    It was very relaxing.

    The bath was outstanding. It was very clean and spacious, with excellent water quality—my skin felt silky smooth, and I felt completely relaxed; there was nothing to fault. Even though it is located in Ikaho Onsen, an area known for its many long-established Onsen Ryokan, the Hotel provided comfortable Western-style rooms, allowing us to enjoy a very pleasant stay.

    A wonderful space

    I recently stayed at Sansuitei Hidamari. I was amazed the moment I opened the door. The Room was spacious, spotless, and very easy to use. The staff’s explanations during meals were clear, so we could enjoy a fun and relaxing dining experience. We also enjoyed a luxurious, unhurried time in the open-air bath in the Room, and we were able to fully relax for an hour in the private bath as well. Both dinner and the breakfast buffet used plenty of ingredients from Gunma, and we truly appreciate your generous hospitality. Thank you for such a wonderful space and time—so lovely that we didn’t want to leave.

    Relax with your family

    On our first trip to Ikaho Onsen, we were very satisfied with the relaxing Room. It was spacious enough for a family of four, and we could unwind comfortably. Dinner was also served in a private, partitioned space, and we were able to take our time enjoying an elegant course featuring locally sourced ingredients. It became a wonderful memory.

    A clean Hotel

    The Room came with an open-air bath, and the Plan did not allow us to choose between a Western-style or Japanese-style Room. We were assigned a Japanese-style Room, and it was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Unfortunately it rained, so we gave up on sightseeing and decided to relax at the Hotel instead, so being able to check in from 2:00 p.m. was really appreciated. Because we checked in early, we were able to take our time in the Onsen at the large public bath before dinner as well. The large public bath was clean and spacious, and there were hardly any other guests—almost like having it all to ourselves. There was also a massage service near the entrance; it happened to be available before bathing, so I had my body thoroughly loosened up first and then enjoyed the Onsen—an incredibly luxurious moment. One issue: only two towels per person were provided in the Room, so we used bathrobes instead for the open-air bath in the Room and ended up giving up on a morning bath. I’m sure extra towels could be provided if requested, but it can be hard to ask early in the morning. I hope this will be improved. For meals, dinner was a Joshu beef course menu, and breakfast was a buffet. We enjoyed both very much. The buffet had a wide variety of items, and the salad vegetables were fresh and great. Regarding the Room: while everything—including the bathroom area—was clean and excellent overall, there was an unpleasant odor inside the closet where the safe is installed, so we couldn’t hang our clothes there. Also, since it was a Japanese-style Room they laid out futons during dinner time; however, there was only a thin futon without any mattress pad underneath, which made me wonder if something had been missed by mistake. It had been a long time since I slept anywhere other than a bed (other than at home), so it felt quite hard—I would have preferred a bed room instead. There were also various issues such as staff coming at the wrong time for laying out bedding; however when choosing Accommodation I prioritize cleanliness and food quality overall this Hotel left me very satisfied overall. Since we could hardly do any sightseeing this time I'd like to come back again next time enjoy sightseeing properly while staying here too

    The luxurious Joshu ...

    The luxurious Joshu beef-focused cuisine made this a wonderful Plan for our meat-loving family! They timed the serving of each dish perfectly, and we were truly satisfied with dinner. We were also surprised by the large kids’ plate and dessert for our toddler. The Room, meals, and large public bath were all excellent, and we had a relaxing stay. We arrived a little early, but they kindly accommodated us before check-in time—thank you very much. We will visit again as a family!

    A Hotel in Ikaho Where You Can Experience the Finest Hospitality

    I stayed on a weekday. When I arrived at the Hotel, the staff warmly welcomed me at the entrance and even carried my luggage, which was a pleasant surprise. Their hospitality began right from the doorway rather than at the front desk, and I could truly feel the unique level of care this Hotel offers. While waiting to check in, there was also a welcome drink service that helped ease away my travel fatigue. The Room was very spacious and open, and the mountain views from the large windows were wonderfully relaxing. For dinner, I enjoyed a Japanese course meal at a restaurant I had reserved in advance. Each dish—from fresh Gunma-grown vegetables to sashimi and meat—was carefully prepared, and both the taste and portion size exceeded my expectations. This trip was to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, so we requested a cake after dinner. I was touched by their thoughtful attention in delivering it to our Room at just the right time. Thanks to them, it became an unforgettable memory for us as a couple. The Onsen was also excellent, with multiple baths. Since there is an alternating schedule for men and women, you can enjoy a different atmosphere the next day as well. The open-air bath overlooking a Japanese garden was especially exceptional—I enjoyed it so much that I went again the following morning. Above all, what left the strongest impression was the staff’s warm smiles and attentive service. We felt comfortable throughout our stay, and it is truly a Hotel that made us want to return. When visiting Ikaho Onsen again, I would definitely like to stay here once more.

    This property offers high-quality dining and excellent staff service.

    This was my first stay here with my son. The Room seemed to have been recently renovated and was very clean and well maintained. The baths were very spacious—especially the open-air bath—so large I almost felt like I might get lost. Even when it was busy, we could bathe comfortably. Dinner was served in the dining area, but we had a private room, so my son and I could enjoy our meal without any worries. The food was delicious, the portions were just right, and the timing of each course was perfect. Breakfast was buffet-style, with omelets cooked by a chef right in front of you and freshly fried tempura. What impressed me most was that they also offered Eggs Benedict. It’s rare to find an Onsen Accommodation with a live kitchen serving omelets and Eggs Benedict. The dessert selection at breakfast was excellent, and my son loved it. We interacted most with the dining staff, and everyone greeted us with wonderful smiles and provided attentive service. I was also impressed by the high quality of the staff overall. Next time, I’d like to visit again with my other son and my wife as well. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

    Everything was great.

    We stayed as a group of four with a couple who are friends. Dinner was served in a private room, so we could enjoy it quietly and at a relaxed pace. The timing of each dish and the service were excellent. Breakfast was also delicious, with a wide variety of items, and we enjoyed the great view in the spacious dining area. Both the bath and the Room were wonderful.

    A long-established Hotel that satisfies every expectation

    For my first visit to Ikaho Onsen, I chose a long-established Hotel (Ryokan). I stayed for two nights and was completely satisfied. Room: It had been fully renovated, and the view of the mountains right in front of us was outstanding. Dining: Dinner was a creative Japanese course served in a private room. Every dish used carefully selected local ingredients chosen by the head chef, and everything—from the seasoning to the tableware—was excellent. However, for us as seniors, the portions were a bit large and we couldn’t finish the final rice dish. Considering that guests may also enjoy beer or other alcohol, slightly smaller portions per dish might be better. To reduce food waste, it could also be helpful to offer an option at Reservation time to choose a lighter course. That said, even something as simple as sashimi felt like it was made with truly high-quality selections. Baths: The open-air bath and panoramic bath were spacious, making it great for enjoying multiple baths. The Onsen water felt soft, and the temperature was just right. There were plenty of washing stations as well, so even when it was somewhat busy it still felt stress-free. Staff: From reception to the restaurant, everything was operated by Japanese staff members, which made our stay very comfortable and reassuring. Their greetings and smiles truly enhanced this Hotel’s brand. Overall, this is an inviting Ryokan (Hotel) with high-quality service that leaves you very satisfied—and makes you want to return.

    It made for a wonderful celebration.

    The mountain view was amazing, and the Room was wonderful. Just like the Review said, every meal was delicious. The large public bath was spacious, with a jacuzzi, a scenic-view bath, and an open-air bath—more luxurious and cleaner than in the photos. We stayed to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday. They prepared a private room for us and listened to all of our requests with a smile. Thank you very much. My mother was truly delighted. The kids were so excited the whole time, saying it was too much fun. All of the staff were kind and helpful. It was our first time in Ikaho, so we weren’t sure at first, but I’m glad we chose this Hotel. My brother and his wife also said Ikaho was even better than they expected, and that next time they want to bring their guests from overseas! Thank you very much.

    I stayed here again.

    We stayed here before and enjoyed it, so we came back again. My husband loved it and said even after we got home that it was wonderful. The food was great again, and the service was excellent. This time we used the private bath, and the hour flew by. We’d love to come back to enjoy the meals and the baths again.

    Our family of four stayed for one night on Saturday, May 16. We were satisfied with almost everything. The food was especially excellent! I also left an item behind in the Room, but they responded immediately and sent it to our home.

    Quality varies greatly.

    We visited as a family hoping to relax in the Onsen, staying one night from Sunday evening when it is usually not crowded. However, a large group from an industry association with poor manners arrived, and the baths turned into a party—every washing station was taken and people were shouting loudly in the tub. It would have been helpful if we had been informed about the group at the time of Reservation. This is an Accommodation we would normally recommend, but this stay was disappointing.

    The bath was excellent. We were also very satisfied with the Room. Even though it was this time of year, the temperature dropped sharply and it was cold. The heating couldn’t be switched over yet, but when we mentioned it, they brought an electric fan heater to our Room (much appreciated).

    The Best Hotel

    We stayed here recently to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. Before our arrival, you contacted us to discuss a birthday cake, and I was truly impressed by your thoughtful attention to detail, including arranging everything for us. From the warm welcome at the entrance, the service was incredibly pleasant and naturally brought a smile to our faces. We arrived earlier than the check-in time, but you kindly accommodated us, which we really appreciated. The explanation of the facilities while enjoying a welcome drink was also thorough. As our excitement grew, we were amazed by how beautiful the interior design was. Our Room had an open-air bath, which my girlfriend absolutely loved—and it made me very happy as well. Dinner featured an impressive selection of luxurious dishes; everything was delicious, and she was delighted. The staff member who assisted us took especially great care of us—along with taking instant photos, they even added thoughtful touches that turned it into a wonderful memory. We were also treated to drinks, which surprised and genuinely moved us. The cake was delicious too. The baths were spacious and made it feel like we were on an adventure. It was our first time seeing a bath with statues placed around it, and it was such a fun experience. The front desk staff’s expressions and attentive service left a strong impression on us as well—we felt comfortable throughout our stay. Overall, this was the first time we’ve experienced service this satisfying. It’s a Hotel that truly made me think from the bottom of my heart: “I want to stay here again.” I’m so glad we chose this Hotel. Next time, we would love to visit during the autumn foliage season!

    I enjoyed Gunma.

    I chose Hotel Kogure, highly rated in IKYU Reviews, because I wanted to see lambs at Ikaho Green Farm. Although the building itself is old, it was as clean as the ratings suggested, with great views and well-maintained Facilities. Every member of the Hotel staff was pleasant, and we enjoyed a full selection of Gunma ingredients in the meals. I felt their efforts to make guests comfortable in every detail. I didn’t make it in time for cherry blossom season at Ikaho Green Farm, but the double-flowered cherry blossoms were also beautiful, so I’d like to visit again next year during peak cherry blossom season.

    We went on a trip with three generations of our family for the first time in a while, combining my parents’ wedding anniversary and my daughter’s graduation trip. We searched for an Accommodation with delicious food where we could relax in the Onsen and enjoy the scenery, and Kogure came up right away. Just as the Reviews said, everything was wonderful, and it turned into a truly satisfying trip. All of the staff provided very pleasant service, and my parents were deeply impressed. The food was excellent, and the baths were amazing! We would love to stay with Kogure again. To all the staff, thank you so much for two unforgettable days.

    The customer service was excellent!

    I stayed here with my sister for my birthday. Since it was my actual birthday, we received a complimentary sparkling wine. Every member of the staff provided outstanding hospitality—warm smiles and thoughtful little extra touches. I’ve stayed at three other Hotels in Ikaho Onsen, and this one is by far the best. We enjoyed both the generously sized bath (almost comically spacious) and the garden open-air bath. If I had to mention one thing, the water temperature felt a bit low. The sauna was also comfortable, and the löyly-style performance was quite fun. The meals were excellent as well—great flavor, variety, and timing. We had a top-floor Room, and with clear weather the view was breathtaking. Overall, it was a wonderful Accommodation with an excellent balance in every aspect.
