I initially had a Reservation for the West Wing, but after reading in a Review that the New Wing was definitely better, I changed the Reservation to a Room in the New Wing as soon as availability opened up. The Room was very clean and comfortable. The pool was also clean and enjoyable, but it was disappointing that the changing area was quite small. The food was delicious overall, especially the sashimi. The steak and sushi were also great, and I was satisfied. At breakfast, the freshly made satsuma-age fish cakes were particularly tasty. The bonito sashimi was also good, and they even had Takachiho Farm yogurt, which made breakfast enjoyable. Because the weather wasn’t great, it was disappointing that I couldn’t relax on the rooftop terrace as much as I had hoped. As for the baths, they felt fairly average—neither particularly good nor bad. Overall, it was a satisfying stay with a clean New Wing Room, delicious meals, and an enjoyable pool.

Enjoy stunning views of Sakurajima and the Kirishima mountain range.

The new wing has been beautifully renovated, creating a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. At the pool in front of the lobby, you can enjoy playing in the water with the magnificent Kirishima mountain range as a backdrop—adults can have fun too. Even just relaxing and taking in the view from poolside was very enjoyable. The view from our 6th-floor Room was also wonderful, overlooking Sakurajima and Kinko Bay. The view will vary depending on the Room, but from the rooftop terrace you can see both, and it was spectacular. Perhaps because it’s in the mountains, it became cool after late afternoon on our stay date, which felt like paradise. There were many small children as well, so it was very lively. Check-in procedures felt unorganized in places: we had a long wait, the dining area was extremely crowded, housekeeping in our stylish renovated Room wasn’t thorough enough, and it wasn’t clear whether there was a safety deposit box or even a towel rack. That said, the views and fun atmosphere more than made up for these issues overall, and we were very satisfied with our trip. As for the Onsen, I felt that under previous management the water quality may have been better. Given current times and stricter sanitation requirements, that may be unavoidable to some extent. The shower water pressure was sufficient, and you could really feel there was plenty of hot spring water. This property may not suit travelers seeking luxury dining or quiet serenity; however, families with children will likely find it easy to use without feeling self-conscious.

As the title says, we didn’t use the pool due to an approaching typhoon, but there was a large Room in the Facility where children could play even on rainy days. Our kids were able to play all day together with other families’ children. We also enjoyed the buffet, which had a wide variety of options. The Room was clean, and the bath was great.

    Everything was perfect.

We visited Kagoshima for the first time in 25 years to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, returning to the place we went on our honeymoon. We chose this Hotel for our first night. At check-in, the staff congratulated us and even upgraded our Room. The food was delicious, the Room was spotless, and both the bath and pool were wonderful. The view from the Room and the rooftop stargazing terrace—everything was simply fantastic. Our return flight was canceled, so although we checked out just three days ago, we’ve already made another Reservation and will be staying again.

    Enhanced Multiple Night Stay Experience

I stayed in the new wing. The Room was cozy, and relaxing on the sofa bed by the window while letting in the breeze was especially enjoyable. It also felt great to bike to Kirishima Shrine with a rental bicycle, and it’s recommended for a Multiple Night Stay as well. They also put a lot of effort into the buffet. The Shuttle Service to the station and their guidance were very kind. As for on-site management (the digital signage in the Room and the self-checkout at the shop), usability may vary by person, but I felt that this moderate use of digital tools helps staff focus on what Hotel service professionals do best. The local Kumen Taiko drum performance was also a wonderful experience. You can also enjoy the view from the rooftop terrace.

    Great value Hotel

I was able to soak in the Onsen without crowds and truly relax. The meals were also delicious. From the Hotel name, I was expecting “a magnificent view of the Kirishima mountain range.” Unfortunately, my Room faced the rear parking lot, which was disappointing. Since it was a sale price rather than booked through the official website, I suppose it couldn’t be helped. That said, I felt it offered good value for money. It may be a good choice for those who don’t mind the view.

Everything was good except for the elevator issue.

We stayed for two nights during Golden Week. The large public bath and the Room were clean (we stayed in a renovated wing), which was great, but there is room for improvement in the following two areas: - There are only two elevators. This is clearly not enough for the number of guests, and having to wait every time was a bit stressful. - The buffet restaurant was extremely crowded; during peak times it felt like a battlefield. The kids’ room was very spacious, and our child loved it and went back many times. The large public bath was also clean and roomy, which we were very satisfied with. We would like to visit again if we can come during a less busy season.

    A great atmosphere.

Located at the foot of Kirishima Shrine, this Hotel enjoys a pleasant breeze from the Kirishima mountain range and a great atmosphere. The breakfast and dinner buffets thoughtfully feature local dishes, which is appreciated. The shop inside the Hotel is open 24 hours, which was convenient.

We stayed one night in the Premier Suite. Both the indoor and open-air baths were spacious, so we were able to use them many times without feeling crowded. It was also great that we could use the baths from 5:00 a.m. Dinner included some delicious dishes, but I felt that improving the quality of popular items such as fried chicken would make it even better. The kids’ play area was enjoyable even for elementary school children, which was great. The female staff member at breakfast provided outstanding service.

    New Building

The front desk area was stylish, and the Rooms in the new building were also beautifully designed and very clean! There was a 24-hour shop, and the free drinks and other amenities were well stocked. Above all, the staff were very courteous, and they kindly accommodated even difficult requests, which was a great help. We could borrow a baby crib, hair iron, blankets, and more for free, which was really helpful. We would definitely like to stay again!! Highly recommended Accommodation especially for families with children!

    Kids’ Play Area

There were plenty of spaces for kids to play, and there was also a game corner and table tennis, so we were able to enjoy ourselves without ever getting bored.\nThere was a pool too, so we’d love to come back in summer next time. The open-air bath was amazing!

    60th Birthday Celebration

We stayed here to celebrate my parents’ 60th birthday. We had made a Reservation in the old building, but there happened to be availability in the new building, and they kindly upgraded our Room. My parents were thrilled! The Room was very stylish and spacious. The meals were delicious with a great variety, and both the large public bath and the private baths were excellent. We also really appreciated that the kids’ play area was available even after check-out. We would love to stay again. Thank you so much!

    The Best Buffet

The meals were incredibly varied and delicious. The sashimi at dinner was so fresh and firm that it was hard to believe it was from a buffet, and the bonito had no odor at all. The freshly fried satsuma-age at breakfast, prepared in the live kitchen, was also excellent. There were many families so it was lively, but the large public bath and dining area were spacious, so it didn’t bother us much. It’s an Accommodation I’d like to stay at with three generations of family.

    Couples’ Trip

This is a Hotel I’d been curious about for a long time. The price was a great deal, and with the Kagoshima discount I made a Reservation right away. The Hotel has a West Wing and an East Wing; the Onsen and lobby are in the East Wing and are very clean. I stayed in the West Wing because I booked at a low rate. The West Wing feels a bit old, and it can be tiring to walk to the East Wing, so I think older guests may prefer the East Wing. The Onsen and restaurant are very spacious. There is also a sauna, and both the shampoo and hair dryers were good. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style; breakfast was more luxurious, which I preferred. Dinner had many dishes that kids would likely enjoy. After dinner we sang karaoke (Reservation required; 1 hour: 1,600 yen). There were also billiards and table tennis (free), plus a mahjong room, so we had fun. There is also a kids’ room, making this Hotel enjoyable for families with children as well. The staff were helpful, and checkout is at 11:00, so we could relax at the Hotel until then. Only M- and L-size loungewear was available in my Room, so my husband couldn’t find one that fit; if you need larger sizes, it’s best to bring your own.

    Traveling with Four Generations

We stayed here as my father wished to travel with his great-grandchild. This place holds special memories for my daughter, who had her wedding here 10 years ago. The hotel was renovated last year, and the front desk and lounge now offer great views, along with thoughtful amenities like indoor wear for children, which made everyone very happy. The Room was clean, though unfortunately it didn’t have a view of the Kirishima mountain range. However, the rooftop offered a magical experience in the morning with sunrise and mist creating a dreamy atmosphere. The buffet meals were delicious with plenty of variety to enjoy. The Onsen had excellent water quality. It would have been more convenient if replacement towels were provided in the bath area so there wouldn’t be a need to dry them after use. The large public bath has stairs that might feel unsafe for elderly guests; perhaps this is why private family baths are available, though they were slightly hard to locate. We enjoyed stargazing at night and watching sunrises from the rooftop despite it being cold—some towels or blankets at the entrance would have been helpful since chairs were wet as well. Clear signage indicating which elevator goes directly to the rooftop would also be appreciated. The 24-hour shop was very convenient, and there were plenty of play areas for children that brought them lots of joy. It was bittersweet seeing that the chapel where my daughter got married is no longer in use—it holds many fond memories for us—and we hope it can reopen someday. Lastly, I thought how nice it would be if coffee could be served in the lounge from early morning while sipping on canned coffee. Thank you for providing us with such wonderful memories during our stay!

Service and thin walls are drawbacks. Good value for money.

The staff's customer service attitude was a bit concerning, especially during check-in. At the restaurant, when I pointed out that an available table was dirty, the staff responded in a way that felt dismissive and lacked even a smile, which left me disappointed. However, the staff at check-out were kind and cheerful, so I understand it's not everyone. Still, it would be great if this could be improved for a better experience. The meals looked luxurious on social media but aside from the sashimi, they were just okay. That said, considering the affordable price, it’s within an acceptable range. The Onsen and Room were excellent! I stayed in a Premier Suite this time; however, the walls seemed thin or perhaps it was due to noise coming through the door—voices of people walking down the hallway were quite audible until around 11 PM. Conversations of children or guests returning from baths disturbed us somewhat. That said, with plenty of play areas available for kids, it's understandable as it's family-friendly accommodation. I hope to stay again in the future and sincerely wish for improvements in customer service!

New Year's Holiday at Pulse Kirishima

We stayed here for the first time after its renewal to celebrate the New Year. Any questions we had beforehand were promptly answered via email, allowing us to visit with peace of mind. Both dinner and breakfast menus were absolutely satisfying. The live kitchen at night served delicious steak and tonkatsu, while breakfast featured freshly fried satsuma-age, freshly cooked tamagoyaki, and seared bonito—all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was also convenient to check the crowd status of the Onsen and restaurants using the in-room tablet. Despite the busy season, all staff members greeted us with smiles and paid attention to every detail, enabling us to have a wonderful New Year's experience. The private open-air bath was slightly chilly as it is outdoors; however, taking your time during the 50-minute session is highly recommended for a relaxing soak. We left feeling proud enough to share this experience with others on our way home. Thank you very much!

Peak seasons may be a bit challenging...

I discovered this accommodation through a strong recommendation on YouTube (Popo's Holiday) and stayed for the first time (opened in August 2025). It was a wonderful hotel! Since it was winter, we couldn't use the pool, but the view from the lobby overlooking an infinity pool-like scenery was breathtaking! Beyond that, there was a magnificent view of the Kirishima mountain range—truly grand! The room (Family Room Sun), indoor play area, and bath were all fantastic, and both kids and adults were thrilled! Especially the room filled with beds felt like a secret base and was so much fun! However... during peak season, the all-inclusive meals were honestly underwhelming. Dinner time was reduced from the usual two hours to one and a half hours; breakfast went from one and a half hours to just one hour. On top of that, there were so many people during these times... It took about 30 minutes just to get food or drinks and find our seats. The system didn't seem equipped to handle such large numbers of guests efficiently. The signature dish (?)—seared bonito—was delicious though, which made it feel like such a waste... Overall, it was great but left me feeling like it could have been better... I look forward to improvements next time!

    The layout is notably inconvenient.

    - Stayed in the old building (West Wing). Compared to the renovated new building, it felt musty, dark, and cold. At this point, I thought it would be fine as long as the room was clean. - Upon entering the room, I noticed that a drawer of the built-in chest was broken. While I didn’t plan to use it, its appearance was unpleasant and left a bad impression. - The cupboard containing the electric kettle was covered in dust, so I had to wash both the cupboard and kettle thoroughly. Suspecting further issues, I checked other tea utensils and found them equally dusty—these also required cleaning. Guests should not have to do this themselves. - There were about three mysterious glass shards on the hallway floor—a hazard considering there were many small children around. - The private bath near the large public bath is hard to locate due to unclear pathways and lack of explanation. Several guests seemed confused and mentioned that they couldn’t open certain doors. - As noted by others in reviews here, there is no clock in or near the large public bath except for one spot in the changing area. Although management has responded to reviews about this issue before, it's unclear why an easily installable clock hasn’t been placed yet—if there's a specific reason for not doing so, please explain. - During both morning and evening visits to the large public bath/changing area, no staff members were seen at all; this raises concerns about when cleaning or maintenance is conducted. - Meals were average overall but surprising that steak served was processed meat rather than fresh cuts. While portions seemed limited compared with expectations for price paid—it felt somewhat acceptable given costs—but seeing shabu-shabu broth turn murky mid-meal without replacement diminished appetite significantly. - Dining involved long queues every time which became stressful; insufficient seating arrangements combined w/limited variety spread across cramped buffet areas worsened experience drastically! Suggest reducing guest capacity while increasing food options alongside expanding buffet layout space instead! Breakfast particularly disappointed: waiting over five minutes just grabbing coffee only finding bland-tasting UCC brand disappointing quality-wise! While year-end peak season crowds understandably strain operations slightly still overall poor flow design coupled w/lackluster attention-to-detail throughout entire stay leaves much improvement desired operationally speaking especially considering remote location challenges staffing shortages likely contributing factor perhaps limiting guest intake capacity better alternative solution addressing such constraints effectively moving forward?

Maybe not worth a second visit?

The humidifier filter in the Room was dusty, which was surprising. It seemed like it hadn't been cleaned for about a month. Additionally, there was no safe in the Room. There was no towel rack in the bathroom, and the lighting angle made it difficult to do makeup. The variety of food options was limited. I wanted to bring my grandchild, but there were no meals for children. The indoor bath in the women's area had a chlorine smell. However, the Room itself was clean. Please consider making improvements.

    Delicious Breakfast and Dinner

The reservation was for the West Wing, but it was changed to the East Wing as it was available, making the bath and restaurant closer, which was convenient. The dinner included a variety of fresh sashimi. The breakfast with bonito and pork shabu-shabu was also delicious. A towel rack in the room would have been appreciated.

    Cost-effective and family-friendly Hotel

The meals were varied and delicious. Popular items like sushi and steak were replenished frequently, so there was no need to rush. Although the restaurant was busy, the seating was spacious, making it generally comfortable. However, I hope the long line at the drink corner can be improved. Since there are many families with children, it might not be suitable for those looking for a quiet place to relax. The 24-hour convenience store was a great feature. I was initially worried about staying in the old building due to reviews mentioning musty smells and outdated facilities, but considering the price, the room was sufficiently clean. For those prioritizing cost-effectiveness, I recommend staying in the old building; for those seeking a more modern and comfortable experience, the new building is ideal—it’s nice that both options are available!

An Otherworldly Experience in the Forest

I stayed at the accommodation during a family memorial service. The room was in the East Wing (old building), so I didn’t have high expectations, but it was quite old, and the contrast with the West Wing was surprising. The room had some issues, such as an unfinished bottle left in the refrigerator from a previous guest and a significant amount of hair on the carpet, which made it disappointing. Even for an older room, it would have been better if it felt cleaner. However, breakfast was enjoyable with a variety of well-thought-out menu options. The breakfast buffet is highly recommended. As for the onsen, while I believe it's diluted with water from its source, both the outdoor and indoor baths felt slightly cold due to lower water temperatures. Since onsen is one of your highlights, I hope this can be addressed in the future.

    Subtle

Check-in was quite crowded as it was a Saturday. However, with 4-5 staff members and guides assisting, the line moved smoothly. The Room was newly renovated, clean, and stylish. Dinner buffet operated in two shifts. It was very crowded, and drinks were not replenished until staff were informed. Sushi and sashimi disappeared quickly but were restocked within a few minutes. Breakfast ran from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM but was also very busy. Unlike dinner, guests had to fill out a name list for breakfast without prior explanation at check-in, causing confusion for those unaware while waiting in line. With only one guide managing the crowd, delays occurred; it took about 40 minutes to be seated after lining up. Many items were not replenished due to the crowding and lack of staff. I might consider staying again during weekdays or off-peak seasons.

The breakfast and dinner buffet is exceptional!

A newly renovated hotel in 2025. Stayed with my elementary school daughter. The best part was the dinner and breakfast buffet, offering one of the best lineups ever. There were hardly any pre-made or shortcut dishes; instead, there were fresh sashimi, seared bonito, and live kitchen options like Kagoshima beef, pork, and chicken steaks, tonkatsu, charcoal-grilled items, and many more dishes worth going back for seconds. The variety of facilities for all generations to enjoy is also fantastic—karaoke rooms, soccer board games, a basketball court, a large kids' play area, etc. The view of Mount Kirishima from the infinity pool was absolutely stunning.

    I was very satisfied.

As a newly built accommodation, it was very clean, and since it was a weekday, there was no waiting at all during check-in. In line with recent trends, the facility features an unmanned shop, which was very convenient to use. The weather was great, and using the pool was very comfortable; the water temperature was warm enough that my concerns about it being "a bit cold" were completely unfounded. The cost performance is excellent, making this an accommodation I would definitely like to visit again. The quality of the buffet also felt quite high.
