    Modern Room and Rooftop Bar are Excellent

    The shared toilets and baths are old, but the rooms are modern and stylish. The front desk is simple yet thoughtfully designed with fabric accents on the ceiling. The view and atmosphere from the rooftop were excellent. Access requires a car, which makes it a bit inconvenient to visit the town easily. A shuttle service between the town and hotel would be appreciated.

    It was a wonderful Hotel.

    The staff's hospitality was delightful, making it a truly wonderful trip. The meals made with local ingredients were delicious, and the view from the rooftop bar was spectacular.

    Onomichi - Your Top Choice!

    The staff's service was excellent! The stylish interior and nostalgic bath were delightful! The rooftop bar exceeded expectations and created wonderful memories! Breakfast offered an ideal menu, everything was delicious, and the stay was very relaxing. Thank you!

    The view is spectacular!

    I stayed at the Onomichi Club Suite. The room, which was a renovated old ryokan, was clean, stylish, and well-organized. Above all, the view is spectacular. You can fully enjoy the sunrise, sunset, and night scenery. However, due to its old structure, there are many steps throughout the accommodation. There are steps between the toilet and hallway as well as between the living room and hallway; also, the bed is on a raised platform. Be cautious when going to the toilet at night. It may not be suitable for elderly guests. The rooftop bar is excellent. Although there were minimal staff members which sometimes felt impersonal, their service was polite and attentive overall. It might be ideal for younger guests; however, those accustomed to highly attentive ryokan services may find it lacking in comparison.

    The location is excellent.

    Located near Senkoji Park, it is less than a 10-minute walk to the summit observation deck, where you can enjoy beautiful night views and morning scenery. Depending on the direction of the Room, you may also enjoy great views and relax comfortably. We opted for a plan with two meals included, and the food was absolutely delicious. The rice with conger eel and onions was exceptional. While the meals were delightful, having soup would have made it even better, so we deducted one star for that reason. Additionally, we wished there was coffee available after both dinner and breakfast. The Room only had one drip coffee pack provided, and since the café does not operate in the early morning or late hours, having a coffee server in the lobby or an option to take coffee back to your Room would have been appreciated—hence another star deduction for Facility improvement suggestions. On a positive note, honey tea bags were available in the lobby and tasted great; tea lovers will likely find this satisfactory!

    The view from the hilltop was spectacular.

    I stayed here on my way back from Hiroshima, inspired by the cycling route of the Shimanami Kaido I saw on TV. As shown in the photos, the view from the Room was truly spectacular. It seemed that one of the AC units in our Room had broken down on our arrival day, and due to the intense heat and inability to cool down the Room, we were upgraded to a suite. The staff who assisted us during check-in and those who helped with inquiries about cycling along Shimanami Kaido were all very kind and left a great impression. The rooftop bar we visited after dinner had a wonderful atmosphere and view, making it very relaxing. Thank you for your hospitality.

    The view is spectacular.

    Chose the room for its view on my first visit to Onomichi, and as expected, the view was fantastic and enjoyable. The food was visually stunning, and the fried oysters and clay pot rice were incredibly delicious. It was nice to eat with chopsticks, but the radish served with the meat was hard to cut with chopsticks and difficult to eat. Also, the bouillabaisse was slightly salty, so I rated it 3 stars.

    Relaxing Onomichi with Great Views

    I often visit Onomichi during my father's memorial day, but it had been a while since I stayed overnight. Initially, I planned to bring my elderly mother and made the reservation assuming we would travel by car. However, due to her health condition, it ended up being just my spouse and me staying at the accommodation. Since we traveled by public transportation, walking 15 minutes uphill with a suitcase was quite challenging. The accommodation itself was beautifully renovated, clean, and very pleasant. All the staff were friendly and kind. If I may offer some constructive feedback: while the room was spacious with a great view, I felt that thin curtains for privacy would have been nice. Additionally, there was no handwashing area in the toilet; using the shower for this purpose felt inconvenient. After returning to our room post-dinner, we noticed quite a few small insects inside—possibly because one of the windows wasn’t fully closed even though we hadn’t opened it ourselves. While this might be unavoidable given its location in the mountains, having insect repellent available in the room would be appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast were perfectly portioned—not too much or too little—and featured delicious dishes made with local ingredients.

    Stay with a view of the Onomichi Waterway from the mountain side!

    I have visited Onomichi many times, but this time I drove to a Ryokan located on the hill. From above, I enjoyed the view of Onomichi Channel from evening until morning. Ships and cars were constantly passing by, and the night view was beautiful. The meals were well thought out in both taste and presentation, leaving me very satisfied. It must be truly spectacular during the Onomichi Fireworks Festival.

    Water Facilities

    The accommodation has been fully renovated and is very clean. However, the unit bath in the room is too small to use. Improvements in the bathroom area would be appreciated.

    It was a stay that made our journey even brighter.

    My wife and I stayed for one night. Despite my mistake during the Reservation process, the staff responded kindly, making our stay wonderful. The conversations with the warm and attentive staff were enjoyable, and the view overlooking Onomichi from the Hotel was indescribable. The scenery from the café on the first floor and the rooftop bar is highly recommended for travelers wanting to capture beautiful landscapes. Located atop Senkoji Mountain, walking can be a bit challenging, but access via taxi or ropeway allows you to descend on both sides—towards Onomichi Station or eastward—making it an excellent base for travel. The reason for deducting a star is due to the slightly small unit bath and lack of natural Onsen; however, considering these are structural limitations of the building, cleanliness was impeccable. This was our first trip to Onomichi, and we are already planning our next visit—it’s no exaggeration to say this is thanks to staying at this Hotel. Thank you very much!

    It was a wonderful a...

    It was a wonderful accommodation where we could fully enjoy the charm of Onomichi. We stayed in a suite room, and the view from the window was spectacular, offering a panoramic view of Onomichi's cityscape. The scenery visible from the room alone makes it worth staying here. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were extremely kind and attentive. The meals were perfectly portioned—not too much or too little—and the oysters fried with rice flour were especially delicious. Although it felt slightly chilly at night in May at the hotel's bar, the night view from there was exceptional. We visited the café after checking out and found it to have a pleasant atmosphere. Overall, it was an incredibly satisfying stay, and I would definitely like to stay here again when visiting Onomichi.
