    Pride of Japan

This Accommodation inspired a sense of pride in being Japanese. Both the Room and the cuisine were wonderful. Unfortunately, Mt. Fuji was hidden by mist and not visible, but I took it as a message inviting me to come again.

    Impressive, as always.

When I previously stayed at Gora Kadan in Hakone, I thought it was a wonderful Accommodation. What impressed me most then was how perfectly timed each course service was—it made everything truly comfortable. I heard this Ryokan had newly opened at the foot of Mt.Fuji,so I decided to visit. The entrance was a little hard to find and I got lost, but somehow made it there. As soon as we arrived at the front door,we were warmly welcomed by many staff members, which honestly felt more than we deserved. Our car was guided smoothly, and we parked comfortably. After being greeted by many staff members (including someone who seemed like the manager),we headed straight for our Room.On the way,we received an explanation about the facilities while being escorted there. In our Room,a male staff member served matcha following Omotesenke tea etiquette. His explanations were extremely polite—exactly what you would expect from an established Accommodation.Although he looked young, his service made us feel genuinely relaxed. The employee training here is outstanding.Recently,at other Accommodations, there have often been many non-Japanese-speaking staff members; not understanding what they say can really lower your spirits—but that wasn’t an issue here at all,and it put us in a great mood.I hope you continue operating this way going forward. The meals were also excellent. They were served in our Room, and each dish arrived at just the right time..Everything tasted wonderful..For breakfast,,it wwas great that we could freely choose between Japanese or Western options too..Lately we've ended up at Accommodations that didn't fully satisfy us,,so I'm truly happy to have found an Accommodation I'm satisfied with again after such a long time. Unfortunately Mt.Fuji was hidden behind clouds and we couldn't see it,,but it still turned into a very satisfying stay.. With this level of satisfaction,,the price felt justified.. It really reminded me how much a Ryokan's impression depends on its staff and food.. Please keep things exactly as they are.. It feels like I've finally found my long-awaited third regular place to stay.. Next time I hope to meet Mt.Fuji face-to-face—and I'd love to visit again..

    Mysterious Accommodation

    - All the staff provided outstanding hospitality and service. Especially the person in charge—thank you for your sincere and dedicated support. - “Cold”—just extremely cold. It was the first time in my life that I had to eat while wearing my own down jacket at an Accommodation. When I told the front desk, they said they would provide a panel heater. Why wasn’t it prepared from the start? I don’t know if having an open atrium throughout the Facility is considered a virtue, but for guests it’s simply a nuisance. - The staff were excellent. As for the Accommodation, it’s so fixated on something that people even end up wondering whether it’s really an Onsen—an Accommodation that ignores its guests.

    Exciting Gora Kadan Fuji

The view of Mt. Fuji was outstanding from every angle— from the Room and from the bath as well. It exceeded our expectations, and we were truly impressed.\nHowever, perhaps because meals were served in the Room, the food was generally lukewarm, which was disappointing. Also, drinks were provided very slowly, so the timing didn’t match the meal; even though the dishes were delicious, it diminished the experience.\nThat said, the location and building were excellent. At checkout our luggage was carried to our car, but it was loaded into another guest’s car. Fortunately they hadn’t left yet, so we avoided a serious problem—please be more careful. This is not an inexpensive Accommodation.

A Luxury Hot Spring Accommodation with Views of a Sacred Peak

I had been hoping to visit ever since you first opened, and I was finally able to make it. I booked a Multiple Night Stay in winter, when there are often many clear days, thinking I would be able to see Mt. Fuji. However, it wasn’t very visible for the first two days, and I was only able to fully enjoy a beautifully clear view on the third day. Since seeing Mt. Fuji was my main purpose, I felt relieved—and it was such a wonderful view that I could have looked at it forever. The Facility is very clean, with a comfortable layout and spaciousness. The Onsen and pool are also heated, with limits on the number of guests and thoughtful consideration for privacy—an open and relaxing Accommodation that truly helped me unwind. The restaurants in the evening are especially impressive. We tried teppanyaki and sushi; both offered an atmosphere and level of deliciousness you don’t usually get elsewhere. The chefs were highly refined yet welcoming, making us feel very comfortable. It felt like an experience that could only be had here—sophisticated but also warm and home-like—and something we don’t normally get to experience in everyday life. I’m sure it will remain a once-in-a-lifetime memory. There were only two points that concerned me. First is regarding the Reservation process. I emailed but received no response, so I called by phone; afterward, an email arrived that clearly hadn’t been properly communicated internally. I called again and spoke with someone who seemed like a manager, after which it appeared to be resolved. There had been several exchanges before that as well, but responses from the reservation center were slow—or sometimes absent altogether—so I felt uneasy about whether my messages were being received correctly. There may be extra steps or miscommunication between the reservation center and the Accommodation side, but if possible, even an automatic reply such as “We will contact you later” would be helpful. Second is about meals in the Room versus at the restaurant. This plan was originally described as in-room dining when we made our Reservation (it stated “served in your room”). We additionally reserved sushi and teppanyaki for dinner; since there was no explanation about breakfast at check-in or beforehand, we assumed breakfast would basically be served in the Room as well unless otherwise noted. If possible, please inform guests from the beginning where breakfast will be served. On day one we asked to confirm this ourselves and had breakfast served in our Room; on day two we waited in our Room again but for some reason it had been set as restaurant dining instead. I’m not sure how your system works behind the scenes, but it was disappointing to end on a slightly let-down note. Overall though, this is truly a wonderful Accommodation—and since there is a range of price options available—I personally felt it offered excellent value: such great views of Mt. Fuji along with outstanding facilities and meals all around for what you pay. If given another opportunity, I would love to visit again. Thank you sincerely to all staff members who made our stay so comfortable with their kind service throughout.”

My First Stay at Gora Kadan

This was my first time visiting Gora Kadan. We were also lucky with the weather, and it was a stay with a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji. [Facility & Amenities] The Facility has only just opened, so everything is very clean. The lobby, hallways, and public bath were all spotless. The ceilings are very high, giving an amazing sense of openness. The amenities are also well stocked, and I was especially satisfied with the skincare and makeup-related items. [Meals] For dinner we chose kaiseki. Both the portion sizes and the timing of each course were perfect. Since neither of us drinks alcohol, we tend to eat a bit quickly, but there was never a moment when we found ourselves wondering when the next dish would come. We were also happy with the wide variety of soft drinks available. Everything was delicious! For breakfast, it was great that we could each choose either Japanese or Western style. That said, if you choose French toast as the main for the Western breakfast, it ends up being almost an all-carbs meal (with bread, granola, and yogurt as sides), so I think it’s something to keep in mind. [Staff] Everyone greeted us cheerfully and left a great impression. We felt comfortable speaking with them without feeling tense. In particular, thank you to the male staff member who even changed his position while we were taking photos outside—his bright attitude and friendly conversation became a wonderful memory. [A few disappointing points] 1) When we arrived by private car, there was no one to greet us and we weren’t sure what to do with the car... The entrance for private cars was also hard to find; after about five minutes of confusion we reached the main gate—but no one was there... We ended up parking ourselves this time, which made us feel a bit sad... (A staff member did apologize.) 2) At dinner we ordered mineral water (paid), but our glasses were topped up with “water” (perhaps complimentary water?) as-is... Even though the mineral water bottle was still on our table, it seems it was overlooked. I was so surprised that I laughed at first, but when they tried to top it up again a second time I had to stop them. 3) After breakfast, tea wasn’t served at the end... Since they have only just opened recently, I imagine they are still working through trial and error in many areas. There were moments that felt a little disappointing at times; however more than that, we were extremely satisfied with the Facility itself, how attentive the staff were overall—and especially how good the meals were. It’s a Hotel I strongly want to visit again.

I was impressed by the new and beautifully maintained Gora Kadan.

We visited Gora Kadan in Hakone as a couple for our wedding anniversary and loved it so much that we wanted to return. When we heard that Gora Kadan Fuji had opened, we stayed there as a family with our one-year-old child. The in-Room dining Plan was outstanding. I believe we stayed in a Standard Suite, and it was very spacious—our child happily walked around the Room. The food and the thoughtful service from our attendant were wonderful, and because both the Room and the Onsen are new, everything felt fresh and comfortable. We are truly grateful to have been able to spend such an amazing birthday. However, we were told that there was no meal for toddlers, so they prepared only plain white rice for both dinner and breakfast. When I searched online later, I found that some guests had been offered items like hamburger steak and udon noodles—foods our child could have eaten—so this left me feeling sorry for my child, which was the only disappointment. (The statement also said “one night with two meals included,” but in reality it did not seem to be exactly two meals included; we were only charged for adding extra bedding, which also left me feeling unsettled.) Perhaps I should have made more specific requests from our side. It seems that other Hotels in a similar price range offer toddler menus or can prepare various dishes upon request. This was our first stay traveling with a child, so we didn’t know what options were available here for toddler meals. I would have appreciated being informed of even a few choices if any were possible. (Even when I asked for barley tea, I was told “Let me check,” which made me wonder if it might not be available at all.) Next time, I would like to request a children’s menu properly (if possible). I plan to confirm in advance. Also, the coffee machine did not work properly for some reason. On the positive side, since it was a Suite Room there was even champagne provided and everything in the refrigerator was complimentary, which made us very happy. Although this Accommodation does not claim to be especially baby-friendly, we still enjoyed an extremely comfortable stay—and I believe that is precisely because it is Gora Kadan. They took photos of us and even placed one in a frame; they also arranged surprises we hadn’t expected at all; and on departure they kindly gave our child a toy as well—all of which made us very happy. Our attendant had such a lovely smile and treated our child warmly that our little one became attached right away. Thank you very much.

    Simply wonderful.

We had stayed at Gora Kadan in Hakone years ago, and my husband still talks about how unforgettable the food was. When we heard that Gora Kadan Fuji had opened, we decided to stay there this time. It exceeded our expectations in the best way. Everything was wonderful. When we arrived at the Hotel, our Room wasn’t ready yet, so we waited for a short while. During that time, they served us sweets and matcha, and the proprietress even came to greet us. Their thoughtful hospitality made the wait feel effortless. Dinner and breakfast were both served in our Room, with each dish brought out one by one—everything was simply delicious. The large public bath isn’t huge, but it was empty when we used it, and there were combination lockers, so we felt very comfortable and secure. The only disappointment was the weather. We chose this place because you can usually see Mt. Fuji well from the Room, but unfortunately it wasn’t visible—nothing can be done about that. One thing I would like to see improved: while waiting to check in, they served dango and matcha as refreshments. However, when we went to our Room later, it was the same dango and matcha again. The dango was quite large, so having exactly the same item twice felt a bit too much. If possible (though I understand it may be difficult), I think it would be nicer if the sweets served before being shown to the Room were different from what is provided in the Room. Honestly speaking, eating dango of that size twice is tough. The proprietress kindly told us to come back for a “revenge” visit to see Mt. Fuji next time—and we’d love to do just that! We look forward to staying again when we return.

The facilities were very impressive, but

For future reference, I’ll be a bit blunt. I set the car navigation system, but the Hotel entrance was very hard to find, and I had to make a U-turn to check in. The front desk staff also seemed aware that it is confusing. I think this could be solved by placing a single sign near the entrance. When explaining the Room, there was no guidance about emergency exits. Also, the yukata were poorly folded; all three (including an extra one) had several large wrinkles. Since you can see a guest’s build at check-in, I believe you could prepare more appropriate sizes in advance. For reference, your “M” felt closer to an L or LL. The Diamond benefit said “one glass of champagne per person,” so I expected it for a toast at dinner, but there was instead a small bottle of champagne in the refrigerator. This could be resolved by stating “a small bottle of champagne will be provided in the Room” as the Diamond benefit. Regarding the bath/Onsen: for some reason, the posted mineral analysis was not displayed at an easy-to-see location near the bathing area entrance; instead it was placed on a wall next to the toilet and was so small it was almost unreadable. I also could not clearly understand which conditions or illnesses should avoid using this Onsen. The towel return area was also hard to find, and this was likewise true for the towel return area near the public restroom. The locker locking method was very unclear as well. The Hotel staff seemed aware of this and told me to call if I didn’t understand beforehand; however, I ended up opening other guests’ lockers several times when they were not locked—and saw things I did not want to see. This could be solved by handing out printed instructions on how to lock them in advance. The drinks in the post-bath area were only tea—and only during limited hours—which was disappointing. There was information about beer being available, but there was no prior explanation that it required payment, and any paid notice/signage was so small that it felt impossible to notice. In the dining venue, it seemed that table layouts were not adjusted based on same-day Reservations. The aisle beside our table was narrow and it was difficult to sit down; serving food also looked challenging for staff because of this setup. As for the food itself, there were few details such as where ingredients came from or anything that added perceived value. Finally, I feel your attitude toward listening to guest feedback is unfortunately lacking. If someone had simply asked at checkout how my stay had been—even just one sentence—I would not have needed to write such a long message like this. Guests are always comparing with other Ryokan and Hotels. I hope you will make improvements going forward.

    Wonderful

From the warm welcome to the send-off, everything was truly attentive and heartfelt. The complimentary drinks in the refrigerator also offered a nice variety. Of course, the view from the bath was wonderful, and the Facility were exceptionally well equipped—hair dryers, PIN-code lockers, and more—so I was able to spend my stay without any stress at all. It was a fantastic place that made me want to stay again.

A one-of-a-kind, exceptional Accommodation that embodies true luxury

A truly one-of-a-kind Accommodation offering an unrivaled, unobstructed view of sacred Mt. Fuji from its base. Filling the entire window is an endless forest ridgeline, and beyond it, the serene presence of Mt. Fuji. Spending quiet time simply gazing at it, wrapped in ever-shifting light and shadow, was pure luxury. Deep in the night, Orion shone with crisp brilliance; by dawn, the Big Dipper traced its path across the sky. Mt. Fuji’s silhouette emerging beneath a canopy of stars felt utterly dreamlike. Above all, the majestic beauty of Red Fuji—tinged crimson before sunrise—became an unforgettable scene etched deeply in my heart. On arrival, we were welcomed with matcha and mitarashi dango. In addition, the proprietress personally greeted each party with great care, and her sincere attention and thoughtful conversation conveyed the Accommodation’s unwavering elegance. Service that honors courtesy without losing warmth, and attentiveness that reaches every detail. The tranquil, refined atmosphere naturally eased both body and mind. The Japanese kaiseki cuisine was a superb lineup in which delicate technique and aesthetic sensibility shone through each dish, grounded in the deep richness of umami-laden dashi. The white miso soup in particular was meltingly smooth and mellow—beautiful even in its lingering finish. The kiwi sorbet after the meal was rich yet remarkably clean on the palate. From start to final spoonful, every course reflected exceptional craftsmanship. An Accommodation that embodies true luxury through a seamless harmony of natural beauty, exquisite cuisine, and heartfelt hospitality. It was a special stay that made me vow to return.

    I am writing to expr...

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at your hotel. Your property clearly promotes rooms with a view of Mt. Fuji. However, I was assigned Room 402, where the view of Mt. Fuji was significantly obstructed by trees. As a result, the mountain could not be fully seen from the room. I understand that the trees in front of the building cannot simply be removed. However, similar room types are available from the 4th to the 6th floor. From what I understand, rooms on the 5th and 6th floors do not have their views blocked by trees. Despite paying the same rate, I was unable to enjoy the same unobstructed Mt. Fuji view as guests staying on higher floors. This situation feels unfair and was very disappointing, especially since the view was one of the main reasons I chose your hotel.

    We used the Shuttle ...

We used the Shuttle Service from Gotemba Station, and at that time you told us, “It’s going to snow tomorrow, so please take lots of photos of Mt. Fuji today.” The forecast said sunny then cloudy, but just as you said, it started snowing in the morning—I was truly impressed by how exceptional your staff are. We upgraded to the teppanyaki course, and it was simply outstanding: unlike anything I’ve ever had before and full of originality. It was so wonderful that I stopped by the shop hoping to find some original goods—something like Hakone yosegi-zaiku—but they only had tableware, so I couldn’t buy anything. That was my only regret.

    The best Accommodation

Gora Kadan is a well-known Accommodation. When I heard they had opened in Gotemba, I made a Reservation right away. It was an Accommodation truly worth looking forward to—service was outstanding, and having nothing to complain about is proof of a top-class place. Japan has many famous Ryokan, but only a few are ones you want to return to. When I consulted them about my cypress and cedar allergies, they responded with great care even before my stay. That alone shows how wonderful this Accommodation is. This time we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji due to the snow, but we were very satisfied to enjoy the beautiful snowy scenery. Even in the snow, the inside of the building was warm and cozy, and it was stress-free not having to constantly run into other guests even though the place was occupied. Next time, I’d like to visit again to see Mt. Fuji!! Thank you very much for everything.

    Wonderful Accommodation

It was a wonderful Accommodation. It felt like the long-established Gora Kadan service quality and luxurious, state-of-the-art Facilities came together to create the best possible Accommodation at the foot of Mt. Fuji. From check-in to check-out, we enjoyed refined service with just the right sense of distance, a new, spacious Room that was thoroughly cleaned, delicious meals, and the Onsen—allowing us to truly relax. In particular, a morning bath while looking at majestic Mt. Fuji was exceptional. We were also grateful for your thoughtful attention to my parents’ food allergies. Everyone kindly saw us off at the end as well, which made for a great memory. We are looking forward to visiting again in May.

I sincerely appreciate how flexibly the staff responded to each of my requests. On the other hand, there were a few points that felt a bit disappointing. 1) The room felt a little too simple and lacked a sense of luxury. 2) I felt the breakfast selection was limited.

    There’s room for improvement.

I visited with high expectations because I had a great experience at Gora Kadan in Hakone more than 10 years ago. The location is outstanding. In clear weather, the unobstructed view of Mt. Fuji rising from the foothills right in front of you is breathtaking. The first day was overcast, but the next day was perfectly clear, and the red Mt. Fuji before sunrise was a view you can only get here. The interior uses plenty of wood and feels clean and pleasant, but the guest room furnishings are understated and may feel a little plain. The in-room Facility was easy to understand and very convenient to use. As in Hakone, male staff in hakama provided service, but many were young and still seemed inexperienced. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious, but dinner portions were generally on the small side—it felt like everything balanced out by the end of the course. Breakfast wasn’t like that; there was plenty of yogurt (a must for our mornings), so we were satisfied. It’s also nice that you can choose Japanese or Western style. The Onsen has a gentle quality; I bathed four times over two days with no issues at all. The indoor bath isn’t an Onsen, but it uses natural spring water so it feels much like one, and it was wonderful soaking while looking at Mt. Fuji. Some requests (such as ingredients to avoid) weren’t fully shared, and there were minor issues with some ingredients, but there was follow-up afterward, so I expect this will improve going forward. I think this Accommodation could become one that rivals Hakone in time.

    Less is More

    High-level cuisine, Onsen, and ambiance.

Check-in by car was smooth, with smart valet parking service. This time, we stayed with the standard Kaiseki cuisine plan. The food quality was exceptional, truly living up to the reputation of Gora Kadan. Each dish was served at the perfect timing, ensuring warm dishes were enjoyed while still hot. Beyond flashy presentation, the fundamental flavors like dashi were impeccable and left a lasting impression. For breakfast, both Japanese and Western options were available, with generous portions and exquisite taste. The room's interior featured a modern Japanese design that felt both new and nostalgically comforting—very relaxing overall. The onsen was quite spacious; opening the external door and securing it with fixtures transformed it into a semi-open-air bath. Above all else, the unobstructed view of Mount Fuji was absolutely breathtaking! Despite being newly opened, staff training seemed thorough as their service level was excellent—a testament to their high standards that makes us want to return again!

    It was wonderful.

I stayed in the Rooftop Suite "Kaze" from January 26th to 27th. First of all, the exceptional location was absolutely outstanding. The hospitality was excellent, allowing me to experience a sense of exclusivity. The meals were also truly wonderful. I felt that this kind of accommodation is unparalleled. That said, if I may offer some feedback, I noticed some dirt on a small part of the hallway walls and tiles on the terrace, even though it has only been about six months since opening. While I understand it may be difficult to maintain a brand-new condition with many guests staying, it would be greatly appreciated if these details could be addressed and repaired as needed. I plan to visit again in six months. Thank you in advance for your continued hospitality!

It was a new and very beautiful accommodation.

We stayed here to celebrate our parents' wedding anniversary. Thanks to the excellent and modern facilities, high-quality teppanyaki, entertaining chef, and overall great service from the staff, we had a very fulfilling stay. The exceptional service provided by the staff in a petite suit was particularly impressive—offering attentiveness that even 5-star hotels might lack. The shuttle service with a chauffeur, outstanding hospitality during our stay, and warm smiles during our send-off left a lasting impression. Although there are some areas for improvement, we hope the high level of service and cleanliness of the facility will be maintained. It’s definitely an accommodation we’d love to visit again. **Points for Improvement:** **Service:** - Some younger staff may need further training. During room explanations, possibly due to nervousness, they were overly lengthy. Additionally, after checking water temperature in the room on one occasion, they handed back used towels instead of providing fresh ones. - A middle-aged bald man wearing traditional attire seemed overly strict with younger staff members at times; it felt uncomfortable watching this interaction. - At checkout when asking a middle-aged female staff member who helped carry luggage if she could wait briefly for us to finish something first—her response "Do I have to wait 10 minutes?" left us feeling slightly upset at departure. **Guest Behavior:** - There were many Chinese guests present; some placed their belongings on gym equipment while sitting around in yukatas speaking loudly which gave off an unpleasant impression. **Amenities:** - Amenities felt somewhat lacking—for example having mouthwash or body towels available near Onsen would’ve been helpful! Also adding coffee milk alongside tea offerings (which currently operate within limited hours) inside post-bath salons could enhance guest experience greatly! **Check-In/Out Times:** Check-in starts at 3 PM while check-out ends by 11 AM making stays feel short overall—extending check-out till noon might allow more relaxed schedules! **Facility Issues:** Pool temperature seemed too cold—it’d help raising warmth levels plus offering nighttime access options too! Some structural inconveniences like difficulty opening sliding doors/fusuma panels require fixing adjustments moving forward

Enjoy modern accommodations with in-room dining options.

Having had a great experience staying in Gora before, I learned from a magazine about the opening of this new accommodation with views of Mt. Fuji and decided to visit. From the reservation process, the attentive and heartfelt service was impressive as expected. A car was arranged to pick us up at Gotemba Station, and another was provided for sightseeing the next day, which was very helpful. We enjoyed our meals leisurely in our room, with all drinks in the refrigerator being complimentary and champagne included through IKYU.com. It had been a while since we experienced in-room dining—quite rare these days. The combination of a dining table with chairs, tatami room, and beds perfectly suited modern needs. The blend of traditional hospitality with modern facilities like air conditioning was exceptional. For us as an older couple, relaxing comfortably is most important. Soaking in an open-air bath while gazing at Mt. Fuji glowing white under the morning sun was pure bliss—a truly memorable stay at this wonderful accommodation!

It was a highly satisfying stay!

The facilities, service, rooms, large public bath, and pool... everything was excellent! I personally prefer this accommodation over Gora Kadan in Hakone. If I had to point out something... The corridor from the guest room to the large public bath is outdoors, so it was extremely cold there. Also, while dinner was highly satisfying, breakfast felt a bit too ordinary in comparison. Three types of grilled fish seemed unnecessary; perhaps a small hot pot would have been better. A large number of staff members greeted and saw us off, which made me feel a bit overwhelmed. Depending on the location of your room, the view of Mt. Fuji varies; I recommend requesting a higher floor for better views. If you visit on a clear day when Mt. Fuji is visible, it’s truly an exceptional accommodation!

    Japanese Architectural Beauty

I was excited to visit after hearing about the opening of Gora Kadan Fuji. The lobby and room showcase the beauty of Japan in every detail. The Onsen bath in the guest room was especially charming, and I enjoyed it multiple times. The Shuttle Service and hospitality were very attentive, which impressed me greatly. It was my husband's birthday month, and I appreciated your thoughtful consideration. Special thanks to the male staff member who took care of our room; we are truly grateful for his assistance. The meals were delicious, though I thought breakfast could have a bit more uniqueness. Next time, I would like to stay in a room conveniently located near the large public bath.

    It was a wonderful day.

It was a celebratory stay, and this was by far the most wonderful accommodation we've ever experienced. The service, room, and meals were all first-class, truly impressive. We were also blessed with great weather, making it an unforgettable day. For those staying here, we highly recommend choosing sushi for dinner.

    We visited for a yea...

We visited for a year-end getaway trip with my husband. The Facility and amenities were so perfect that they felt almost over-specified at times. The public bath was excellent. The Room was spacious for two people, but the bed felt relatively small, so a larger bed might have been more comfortable for relaxation. The teppanyaki dinner exceeded our expectations and was truly impressive. However, while the dinner was outstanding, breakfast felt surprisingly ordinary. Choosing Western-style breakfast might have been a mistake as we were surprised to see cereal served—it gave an impression of being somewhat lackluster. Additionally, the service during breakfast left us disappointed; when my husband requested ketchup for his omelet and butter for his bread, it took quite some time to arrive after asking another staff member again. It seemed odd that ketchup and butter weren’t provided initially. Furthermore, when I asked for a coffee refill, no one checked if my husband would like one as well—this came as another surprise to us. Given how exceptional the dinner experience was, these shortcomings stood out even more prominently. Perhaps Japanese-style breakfast would have been better in hindsight. While there were some disappointing aspects regarding service quality and meal standards considering the price point we paid, overall it turned out to be an enjoyable stay nonetheless. Thank you very much!

    Thank you for your patronage.

I was nervous about my first visit to Gora Kadan, but the new, clean, and spacious facilities made for a very pleasant stay. The large public bath and the Onsen in the room were both wonderful, and the meals were absolutely delicious. It was also enjoyable to admire the furnishings. I was deeply moved by being able to see the majestic Mount Fuji with its snow cap from everywhere. Thank you for accommodating us in such a spacious and beautiful room and for all your thoughtful hospitality. I would love to visit again!

Is it now easier to make a reservation?

I stay at a luxury accommodation once a month. This time, the accommodation was not technically an onsen, but the water quality was similar to onsen and very gentle, leaving my skin moisturized. Since it’s a new accommodation, the navigation system didn’t guide us well and we got slightly lost, but upon arrival, Mount Fuji welcomed us. The lobby offers an impressive view of Mount Fuji as well. The room was spacious and clean with fresh flowers arranged in several spots, which showed thoughtful attention to detail and made me happy. Usually, welcome drinks are served in the lobby during check-in; however, this time I enjoyed matcha prepared in my room instead. At the shop (ceramic gallery?), I found the same cup used for matcha priced at 300,000 yen! Glad I didn’t break it (sweat). The staff were all pleasant and it was an excellent accommodation overall—surprisingly affordable at just over 140,000 yen even though it was a weekend. Some disappointing points: The bed was single-sized. I wish there had been handrails in the bathroom as well. The step on the balcony was quite high and difficult to manage going up or down. Wooden clogs with straps were provided but they were stiff and uncomfortable; regular sandals would have been better. At the entrance stone pavement area too there were traditional Japanese sandals provided—did everyone actually wear them? It seems like they focused heavily on creating a "Japanese" atmosphere that foreign guests might enjoy; however, this gave me an impression that domestic travelers like us weren’t being considered much—is that just my bias? With current exchange rates favoring foreign tourists now more than ever due to yen depreciation trends—it’s understandable—but times change quickly as seen with recent global shifts involving China etc., so please don’t forget about those who cherish domestic travel experiences! Lastly: While many sofas lined up inside scenic lobbies offered great views overlooking Mt.Fuji itself—I’d personally prefer sipping welcome drinks here instead alongside perhaps lounge-style services if possible unless avoiding guest interactions altogether forms part of their concept deliberately!

The best Ryokan I have ever stayed at.

The Facility and guest rooms were excellent as it is a newly opened place. The staff provided outstanding service, allowing us to have a pleasant stay. The meals were kaiseki cuisine with just the right portions, and the beautifully arranged plates added visual enjoyment. Last month, I visited a famous Michelin-rated restaurant in Kyoto, but this was far more delicious. I was moved by the sight of Mount Fuji's rainbow-colored sunrise. This is the best Ryokan Hotel I have ever stayed at overall. Thank you very much!

    Overall, it was great.

We have a preschool-aged child, and the child pricing at this Ryokan was a bit unclear. Perhaps it's because of IKYU? The price is 30,000 yen for children aged 4 to 12. It would be better if it were clearly stated as the same rate for that age range. The current description could be made easier to understand. I wonder why it feels like I lost out somehow? (laughs) The Facility was very clean, and while the food wasn't flashy, it brought out the natural flavors of the ingredients and was very delicious—just the right amount without being overwhelming. It was a bit disappointing that Mount Fuji wasn't easily visible from our Room; perhaps higher floors would offer a better view. Also, we didn't know there was a pool because there were no photos or clear mentions on IKYU.com. Upon checking again later, we found it written in small text—this could also be improved!
