    It was excellent.

It was excellent. The morning after my stay, I had booked marine activities early, so I couldn’t take my time enjoying breakfast, which was truly disappointing and is my only regret. The menu selection was very satisfying. The slippers were also wonderfully plush. If I have the chance to stay in Naha again, I’d like to use this Accommodation.

Recommended for business trips and late-night flights.

I was satisfied to find a great sale and stay at a reasonable price with my child. We arrived at night, and it was about 13 minutes by taxi, costing just under 2,000 yen. The place has been renovated and is very stylish! Even though I made a Reservation for a city view, we could see the ocean—maybe we were upgraded—which made me really happy. The breakfast venue had a chic atmosphere and the food was delicious. I was hoping for salmon roe like in the photos, but it wasn’t available, which was disappointing; however, there were plenty of other options and we really enjoyed it. There were six flavors of Blue Seal ice cream, and the mango and pineapple were especially tasty. The weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t fully enjoy everything, but it seems there were drink service and popcorn on the sauna terrace. There’s also a large public bath, so I think it’s refreshing even for short stays such as business trips. The bathroom has only a shower, but I liked that the toilet is completely separate. The hair dryer was ReFa, and you can also borrow a hair iron. One concern was that making internal calls from the Room requires using a smartphone, which made me feel slightly uneasy. There were no facial cleanser or lotion provided either, so I used what I brought with me. Other than that, overall satisfaction for the price was high, and the Diamond benefits were great too. I would stay again if I have the chance.

    The breakfast was great!

The Room was stylish, clean, and very comfortable. We also really appreciated your consideration for our Child Sharing Existing Bedding and providing a bed guard. However, when we used the restaurant in the Hotel for dinner, the food was served first but the drinks took a long time to arrive, and even after we asked, it still took quite a while. That was the only disappointing point. Overall, we felt it is a wonderful Hotel that is easy to stay at even with children.

    It’s clean.

There were still relatively few international guests, and many Japanese guests. The Southwest Grand Hotel (same group) also felt Japan-focused at first, and the guest mix seemed to shift over time, so I expect this Hotel may change in the same way. Perhaps because it was right after renovation, the Room was very clean and beautiful. However, the view from the Room differed from the photos shown on IKYU at the time of Reservation—the Room faced a different direction. When I checked again after my stay, it had been updated, possibly due to similar complaints from other guests. The large public bath and sauna were clean, and tattoos are allowed. In fact, there were several guests with extensive tattoos, which creates a distinctive atmosphere. This felt quite different from the Southwest Grand Hotel. If you are sensitive about tattoos or traveling with children, it’s best to understand this in advance before using these facilities. On the other hand, for guests with tattoos or those comfortable with them, this is a very accessible Hotel and highly recommended. You can store your suitcase in lockers on the first floor, but there are only a limited number available, so they fill up quickly. Check-in starts exactly at 3:00 PM, and there was a long line. I had both lunch and breakfast; both were delicious and came with great views. I hope they continue to maintain this level of cleanliness—I’d like to visit again.

As it’s new, it was very clean and beautiful. It’s a highly recommended location for those using Tomari Port. There was also a convenience store and an Okinawan restaurant right nearby, which was convenient. However, the Room felt dark overall. As soon as I entered the Room, I thought, “It’s dark!” There was one light that wouldn’t turn on, so I told the front desk, but they said it was an emergency light and doesn’t normally turn on. Also, this was my first time staying at a Hotel with no tissues at the sink. The Room was simple and very clean, but there were only just enough towels provided; I would at least like tissues to be available.

    It was great.

I made a Reservation at this Hotel for a day trip to a remote island. I have stayed here before, back when it was the previous Hotel. I loved the open-atrium restaurant and its atmosphere. This time, it’s newly renovated and beautifully clean, and the interior design is wonderful. The small items in the Room were also charming. Since it was a bit chilly, I put on the loungewear (pajamas?) provided in the Room, and it felt so soft that I’d like to buy one separately. Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, but everyone was very pleasant. I would love to stay again if I have the chance.

    Spectacular views

It was really great. I mistakenly thought the outdoor pool on the 8th floor would be larger, but it’s more like a small foot bath. Other than that, the sauna was excellent.

Great location, Room, and Facility—good! But…

Located on the upper floors of Tomarin, it’s an excellent location for an overnight stay before heading to the remote islands. Kokusai-dori is a 15-minute walk away—not very close, but still walkable. The Room was spacious and very satisfying. The modern large public bath was truly appreciated. Overall, I was highly satisfied and would like to stay again! However, a few disappointing points: first, the large public bath was used in a very messy way by people who didn’t know basic etiquette. Shower heads were left on the floor, wash buckets were covered in foam, and stools were left scattered around—completely ruining the relaxing bath experience. I’d like to see clear bath-etiquette notices posted at each washing area (especially in Chinese). In the changing Room, all the notice text is too small to read for someone with aging eyesight. As for the shampoo/conditioner/body soap labels at the washing stations, they use white text on beige with little contrast, and combined with the dim lighting in the bath area, I couldn’t tell them apart. I really hope this will be improved. The front desk has been streamlined with tablets, but their response is slow and it’s easy to get confused—you might think you made a mistake. Whether it’s due to connection speed or tablet performance, check-in wasn’t comfortable. That said, despite all of this, I basically felt it’s a very good Hotel. I hope these issues will be improved going forward.

A comfortable Hotel located directly above Tomari Port.

It was a convenient, clean, and comfortable Hotel. I’d like to stay here again if possible. Here are a few things I noticed. It seems to be a newly opened Hotel created as part of the Tomari Port facility renovation. With the new-opening rates and an IKYU offer using hometown tax donations, I was able to stay at a very good price. Because it’s located within the Tomari Port facility where ferries depart for places like the Kerama Islands, it’s an ideal base for visiting remote islands. There’s a Lawson convenience store downstairs (you can also buy some medicines depending on the time) and a shop selling beach items and similar goods. A large diving shop is nearby, so divers can pick up last-minute supplies. The interior is simple and uncluttered, yet extremely comfortable. Depending on the Room, you can enjoy panoramic views of Tomari Port and even see as far as the Kerama Islands—just looking outside from your Room is relaxing. The sauna is excellent. I’m new to saunas, but the properly hot sauna and well-chilled cold bath were something I looked forward to after sightseeing. I didn’t use the outdoor terrace, but it looked like it would be great. Some dining areas are not open yet. From my experience using the breakfast buffet and dinner several times: breakfast had an especially wide variety including Okinawan dishes, which was fun, and the quality was satisfying. Dinner also tasted great with jazz playing for a nice atmosphere, though some of the service still felt like they were getting up to speed. For reference, there’s an Okinawan restaurant directly below, and there’s also a bento shop in Tomarin that’s open until midday. It seems there are set-meal restaurants nearby as well. Plus Lawson and Hotto Motto offer some Okinawa-local items too, so I didn’t have trouble finding food without going far. For parking you use Tomarin’s parking lot. The first time you park normally; then you pay at the Hotel front desk for however many days you need and receive Receipts—your parking will be made free there. After that, each time you park normally again; then show your Receipt at the front desk to have your parking ticket validated for free exit whenever you like. For rental cars, it looks like there is an ORIX Rent-a-Car at Tomarin. As for getting to the airport: since this Accommodation is a bit far from the monorail station—and roads from downtown toward both Naha Airport and Toyosaki get extremely congested—I strongly recommend returning your rental car in downtown (e.g., around Kencho-mae) and taking either a taxi or monorail to the airport instead.

The reception system was not working.

This was my first stay at this Accommodation. The Room and the Facilities, such as the large public bath and sauna, were very good, but I was disappointed by the following points: - At check-in, the tablet showed an error even after entering my name, and it also showed an error when I entered what seemed to be my Reservation Number. - At check-out, placing the room card on the scanner resulted in a recognition error. - I was not informed that amenities were located behind the front desk, so I had to go back and forth between there and my Room. - When taking the rear elevator to the 8th floor, it was unclear that tapping the room key was required. My family members who got on first found that the 8th-floor button did not respond, so they got off on the 9th floor and used the emergency stairs.

    Direct access to Tomarin.

Directly connected to Tomarin, making it extremely convenient for visiting the remote islands. With few Hotels in Naha offering a large public bath and sauna, I was able to relax in the spacious bath and their carefully designed sauna. The food at the restaurant with an early American vibe was delicious, and the staff were attentive—nothing to complain about. Live jazz is played at 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM, creating a great atmosphere. From the rooftop you can see Tomari Port below, and if the weather is good, both sunrise and sunset are beautiful. Since it has just reopened after a renovation, the ship-inspired Room was also very clean. You can also walk to Kokusai-dori. It might be perfect for a night after returning from an island trip or on your final day when you’re tired from sightseeing. I’ll stay here again!

Convenient for taking the ferry to the remote islands.

I used to stay at another Hotel nearby when using Tomari Port, but this time I stayed at the South Gate Hotel above Tomarin. Since the renovation, the Hotel and Room were clean, with a great view and stylish interior—very satisfying. On the 8th floor there were welcome desserts (shaved ice, ice cream, and juice), and in the evening there was drink service on the terrace, so I could also enjoy the night view. Above all, it’s extremely convenient for taking ferries to the remote islands—there’s direct access from an exit next to the Hotel. From next time on, when using the ferry I’ll stay here.

This was my second stay, and I stayed for three nights. It’s very stylish, and the food is delicious. With a large public bath and Rooms equipped with a washer-dryer, it has become one of my favorites. Dinner at the restaurant is especially well serviced. There is a wonderful staff member who transferred from Southwest, and I was happy to see them again this time as well. Thank you always. Aside from some inconsistency in the front desk service and the breakfast buffet sometimes running low on items, it truly is a fantastic Hotel. One thing: the Room we stayed in this time had an air conditioner that made a very loud noise. We were fine, but it may be difficult for those who are sensitive to sound. I have already made another Reservation for this winter. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

The Hotel’s sauna and bath are excellent.

This was my first stay here. There is a convenience store nearby, and it was a very convenient Hotel. For meals, I had Italian food. I didn’t drink alcohol, but my impression was that it was expensive. It was a stylish place.

It was very convenient with direct access to Tomari Port. Unfortunately, due to a typhoon we couldn’t visit the remote islands, but next time we’d like to come again and enjoy an island trip. Both check-in and check-out were self-service, but we would have appreciated a bit more guidance or assistance. One concern was the Room structure: there was wooden trim on the wall, but part of it wasn’t varnished and the rough wood surface was left exposed. I accidentally brushed my cheek against it and ended up with a fairly large abrasion. It stung quite a bit, so I would be grateful if you could take some safety measures.

Conveniently located just steps from Tomarin.

We stayed at the newly reopened Southgate Hotel with my wife. Both the convenience and the location are excellent. As you’d expect from PDS management, the interior and Room furnishings match the concept perfectly, the staff are full of hospitality, and the restaurant has a great atmosphere. The large public bath was clean and comfortable, including the sauna. If you’re planning to include remote islands in your sightseeing, this is the one Hotel to choose. Some Facility areas are still under construction, but I’m looking forward to what’s next. If the Ocean Terrace eventually becomes something like a rooftop bar, it will be even better. It was a Hotel stay that added something new to Okinawa sightseeing!

    Wonderful

My first stay at the South Gate Hotel! Since it has just been renovated, the interior is very clean. The Hotel seems to have a ship-themed concept, and even inside the Room, the decor is consistently unified to make you feel like you’re on board. Our Room faced the harbor with an amazing view, and the sun sets right in front of you. Breakfast offers a wide variety of delicious options, from Okinawan cuisine to steak! The only downsides were: - The Hotel itself doesn’t have a pool… we walked to nearby “Naminoue Beach” and relaxed there. - There’s no guidance or information about the Hotel, so it’s hard to know what Facilities and services are available. - It’s unclear what the terrace Facility is meant for. Still, the bath and sauna are clean and highly recommended. I just hope they continue to preserve the Hotel’s concept going forward. I’ll be back!

    I am very satisfied.

The location, Facility, and interior were all excellent. The Room was spacious, and above all, the view was amazing. In Naha, it’s rare to find a place with an ocean view like this. The renovation was very stylish, and the Room was extremely comfortable. Most of all, having a washer-dryer in the Room was incredibly helpful. Breakfast is buffet-style with a great variety—breakfast is a must. The large public bath was clean, and having a sauna made it even better. It’s also very convenient to get around, and I’d definitely like to stay here again the next time I’m in Naha.

    Breakfast is excellent.

I used to stay here often back when it was the Kariyushi Hotel, and since it was reopening as the South Gate Hotel, I stayed for one night on a breakfast-included Plan. First, the ashtray near the Hotel entrance had been removed, which made the area feel cleaner. The front desk has been streamlined and I checked in using a terminal; it was easy to understand with no issues, and even if you’re unsure, the front desk staff will promptly and kindly guide you. The Room was clean, and the Facility features and amenities were well balanced—nothing lacking or excessive—with a lineup that left a positive impression with its sustainability-minded approach. Best of all was breakfast. There was so much to choose from that I truly couldn’t decide; I think you’d need three days to try everything. I’m grateful for such a fulfilling stay, and I’d like to stay again.

If you’re heading to a remote island!!

I visited Okinawa for 3 nights and 4 days and stayed at South Gate on the 1st and 3rd nights! Last year I booked a Hotel a little away from Tomarin, but after disembarking it was hard to find a taxi, which was stressful—so this time I chose this place with direct access. There was again a long line of people waiting for taxis, so it was absolutely the right choice. The self check-in was a bit hard to understand, and since it was late at night there seemed to be only one staff member, so I had to wait a little when I had questions. They had kids’ loungewear in sizes 110 and 140, plus toothbrushes and fluffy slippers, which was great. You pick them up yourself from the front desk area. It would have been nice if there were bags available for carrying amenities. Our Room was upgraded from the city side to the ocean side. The Lawson near Tomarin is open 24 hours, which is very convenient. For our first night we chose a Grand Twin Room. It only had a shower, but that was enough for us. The breakfast buffet had quite a wide variety, including some Okinawan-style dishes! We were in a bit of a rush because of our high-speed ferry schedule, but we were happy to try lots of different foods. The kids especially enjoyed making their own seafood rice bowls. They also stored our luggage for free, which really helped by reducing what we needed to take to the remote islands. I’d love to stay here again whenever I use Tomarin.

    It was very good.

The Room was clean and spacious. We also dined at the Chinese restaurant, and the food was excellent. All of the staff were very kind. There is also a large public bath, and although we had reserved a city-side Room, they upgraded us to an ocean-side Room as an IKYU Diamond member benefit, so we were extremely satisfied.

A stylish, great-value Hotel directly connected to the port terminal

We stayed here as a family right after it opened. Since it’s a sister Hotel of the Southwest Grand Hotel we often use, our expectations were high—and it exceeded them. The location is a bit away from Kokusai-dori, but being directly above the port terminal makes it perfect for island hopping. Hearing the occasional ferry departure announcements and sounds also adds to the atmosphere. Although the building has been renovated, it doesn’t feel old at all—stylish and spotless throughout. The restaurant floor is especially photogenic. The red ceiling fans spinning vertically above the buffet area are particularly memorable. Dining options are incredibly extensive: buffet, Chinese cuisine, café, à la carte dining, bar, and Okinawa soba. Unless you’re careful, weight gain during your stay is almost guaranteed. Unlike Southwest Grand Hotel, having a large public bath is another big plus. It’s well equipped with a dry sauna, cold plunge bath, and an outdoor relaxation area. It may be because we stayed during an opening sale period, but the room rates were reasonable and offered even better value than Southwest Grand Hotel. A definite repeat stay—an absolute gem of an Accommodation!

    Great value for money

A clean Business Hotel has opened near the airport and close to the port. This may be unavoidable due to the building design, but there are many steps throughout the property—such as in the Room (in front of the toilet), the restaurant, and the large public bath—so please watch your step. In the large public bath (changing room), there were too few trash bins, and used towels were left unattended, which felt unhygienic; I hope this will be improved. The meals are plentiful, the staff are attentive, and there is live music; overall, it offers excellent service for the price.

    Tomarin

This was my first time staying at a Hotel in the Tomari area. It was great that I could also walk to Tomari Iyumachi. I made a Reservation early because the new Hotel and sauna looked wonderful, but unfortunately the ocean sauna was not yet available, so I didn’t have high expectations. However, the large public bath and the indoor sauna were quite good (though it felt like the drainage wasn’t great). The weather was bad, and an area like a terrace was closed, so I couldn’t go in. I took a look at the restaurant on the 8th floor, but the system was a bit hard to understand. This time I didn’t add breakfast and didn’t use the restaurant either. Since check-in was during heavy rain, I used the Hotel-affiliated Tomari parking lot, but it felt a little expensive. Once the ocean sauna becomes available, I’d like to stay again on a sunny day.

The Diamond member benefits have been reduced.

One of the perks that had been confirmed both at the time of application and just before our stay (a higher-floor Room if available) was no longer included. There was no explanation as to why it had been removed. Instead, we were offered a larger Room with a better view for an additional fee. With my previous Hotel Reservations on IKYU, upgrades at no extra charge were usually standard, so I was surprised—but perhaps paid upgrades are normal at this Hotel. The Room had only a shower, but the toilet was separate, which made it convenient to use. However, there were no shelves around the sink, so it was difficult to find space for toiletries and cosmetics. Breakfast would have been even better if the live kitchen had included egg dishes, but there was a wide variety and everything was delicious.

    Looking forward to what’s next

I visit Okinawa about once every two months, and since this Hotel had newly opened, I saw it on YouTube and Instagram and looked forward to staying here. I was satisfied with the convenient location for traveling to the remote islands and having a Room with a washing machine. However, the staff response and lack of explanation, as well as the inconvenience of the parking ticket when entering and exiting the parking lot (having to request a parking ticket every time, and being charged again—wouldn’t it be better to introduce a reusable parking ticket exclusively for guests?), meant that several nearby Hotels I have used in the past were more satisfying overall. The price was not cheap, so my expectations were high, which made it a bit disappointing. I hope for improvements in the future.

    A Hotel Near the Port

This was our first stay, and we stayed as a family group (15 people including children). Due to the typhoon, we couldn’t go anywhere and arrived before noon, but you kindly allowed us to spend time in the foyer on the upper floor. We truly appreciated that you turned on the lights and air conditioning for us. Thank you as well for accommodating our large group with thoughtful seating arrangements for lunch, dinner, and breakfast. We would love to stay again.

    It was clean and nice.

I stayed shortly after it opened, and the first Room had a water leak from the toilet bowl. They upgraded my Room, and it was spacious and clean. Some of the staff were familiar faces from Southwest, and their service was good, so I was satisfied. Breakfast had a wide variety of items and tasted great. Considering value for money, breakfast is better than at Southwest. One thing I’d like improved is that the gym doesn’t have alcohol spray or paper towels for use after equipment. It’s also hard to tell which way to turn the bath faucet for hot or cold. With poor eyesight, it’s difficult for me to see. When I turned it to make it colder, it was actually the opposite and very hot water came out. I think making this clearer would be even better, especially for older guests.
