    It was my first stay...

    It was my first stay in about a year. Compared with my previous visit shortly after opening, the staff seemed much more settled this time, and their service was naturally warm, friendly, and attentive—it felt truly relaxing. The view from the Osaka Castle View Room was flawless, and the beautiful fresh greenery that constantly caught my eye was wonderful. Also, compared with a City View Room, I barely noticed any road noise at night. To be honest, on my first visit I was impressed by how substantial and delicious breakfast was, so I came this time really looking forward to it—but unfortunately it felt slightly downgraded. The quality of the ingredients themselves and their freshness were still excellent. However, there seemed to be fewer items on the buffet counter, and it appears Basque dishes have disappeared entirely. Perhaps due to holiday crowds, it took quite a long time for main dishes and drinks to be served, and I often noticed items left empty on the buffet counter without being refilled. That said, I highly recommend the vanilla soufflé pancakes I ordered from the main menu—they were very delicious (although when they first arrived they were undercooked with a liquid top layer, so I asked for them to be remade… if you find something runny inside later on, please note it is not vanilla sauce). I’ve written various things here, but in terms of taste, views, and service overall, this is a restaurant I really like with high satisfaction. One thing that bothered me this time was that I often received emails guiding me to complete procedures via chat using my smartphone (StaHo), so I tried it—but found it difficult to use. I also questioned why pre-check-in includes a step requiring submission of identification documents (I stopped at that point; however, check-in itself had already been accepted). Writing a handwritten signature on a smartphone is also very difficult for me as well—so next time I will handle everything at reception instead. In addition، there is an input field for turndown requests; apparently entering “+1” in the chat indicates you do not want turndown service—which is confusing. I requested turndown again verbally at check-in. Since I had booked a spa appointment in advance، I assumed they would come during that time، but it wasn’t done. They came promptly after I called، though. Maybe the system is still in transition—I’m not sure.

    Hospitality that never disappoints

    I stayed here last year and was so impressed by the staff’s hospitality that I returned. I had mentioned in advance that it was our 37th wedding anniversary, and during afternoon tea, our time at the spa, room service, and breakfast, each staff member congratulated us with “Happy 37th wedding anniversary!” The level of communication throughout the Hotel was exceptional and left a wonderful impression. I would like to make another Reservation again.

    Wonderful

    We stayed here to celebrate a family birthday. From all around the Hotel, you can clearly see Osaka Castle—the view is outstanding. Everything is stylish and feels special, from the Hotel and Room to the cutlery and even the staff uniforms. For dinner, we had a course meal at INAKI. With Osaka Castle beautifully illuminated at night, the atmosphere was wonderful. It was our first time trying Basque cuisine, but it’s absolutely worth experiencing at least once. The grilling technique, charcoal aroma, and distinctive sauces were all delicious. There was also an excellent selection of drinks, and with a sommelier on hand we enjoyed some great champagne. Breakfast was also at INAKI. It had a different vibe from the evening—lively and energetic in the morning. We enjoyed a variety of dishes such as ochazuke and omelets; everything was so good we ate too much. We also used the pool. It has great views, is very stylish, and highly recommended. The best part by far was the staff service. We received an upgrade, a birthday cake, a fruit platter, a birthday card, and more—and from check-in to check-out they kept congratulating us with warm smiles. I don’t think many Hotels celebrate with guests to this extent. It truly was an Accommodation with outstanding hospitality.

    A Cozy Hotel

    Although it has only been a year since opening, we have already visited each restaurant many times. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the staff are always wonderful, so I had long hoped to stay here someday. This time, during our stay, I realized something. Even when staying in a spacious, expensive Room at a luxury Hotel with a great view, I often can’t finish in-room dining and struggle to fall asleep... I never thought much about it and simply assumed it was because the pillow was different. But this time, my child—who stayed with me—finished both breakfast and dinner via in-room dining, ate two P72 cakes in one sitting, went swimming twice, spent a relaxing evening in the bathroom, and fell asleep soundly in no time. And even I—who usually can’t fall asleep no matter what Hotel it is—was able to drift off easily. Some might think it was because we used the pool... but for us—since hotel stays are our hobby and we stay at various luxury Hotels specifically for their pools—this was a first. My child also usually dislikes bathing at a new Hotel, so at the time I found it quite surprising. I had noticed from the beginning how comfortable everything felt, but then suddenly realized something was different from usual. Sleeping well and enjoying meals... that’s what a Hotel stay should be. I was truly satisfied that we were able to stay at such an excellent Hotel. The Room interior showed great taste down to the smallest details while still feeling warm and welcoming—something we were very happy with. During this stay as well, all of the staff showed us so much thoughtful care that we almost felt undeserving of such kindness. Just like the restaurants, our Accommodation experience was so wonderful that we made another Reservation before summer. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

    The Best View

    Right in front of Osaka Castle—can there be any other location like this?\n\nWe stayed in three Rooms with my daughter’s family to celebrate our grandchild, and had dinner in a private room at Inoki. We had never tried Basque cuisine before, so we were a little unsure at first. However, the staff who handled our phone Reservation and the service staff were friendly and pleasant, and the food was delicious—everyone enjoyed it.\n\nWe truly appreciated your thoughtful touches, such as delivering a cake to our Room and preparing message plates for dinner and breakfast. The coordination among your team was excellent.\n\nTo help you aim for an even better Hotel, I will mention one thing: although it was our fault for being 2–3 minutes late for the 12:00 check-out, when we returned from a walk around Osaka Castle, our Room key no longer worked. It would have been helpful if there were at least a 15-minute grace period. In the end, thanks to the Hotel’s kindness, we were able to use the Diamond member benefits for all three Rooms.\n\nAll in all, this has become one of the Hotels where we would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    The price doesn’t match the level of service.

    About a 10-minute walk from the station; depending on the weather, and with no Shuttle Service, it’s a distance that often leads you to take a taxi. However, once you arrive, the breathtaking view feels like having Osaka Castle all to yourself. Among Hotels in Osaka city, it seems to be in the higher price range, but the way services are delivered felt somewhat casual. That may simply be today’s style. I interacted with staff in various situations—at the drop-off area, front desk, by phone, and at the restaurant—and it felt more friendly than strictly professional. Perhaps that is Capella Hotel’s hospitality style. I had dinner at a restaurant described as Basque-inspired, but nothing in particular stood out. The room was clean and spacious. The signage was a bit hard to see, though that may be due to my eyesight.

    Great views

    The Room is a comfortable size, and the Japanese-inspired decor feels relaxing. Located slightly away from central Osaka, it faces Osaka Castle, and the view of the city’s high-rise buildings from a distance is very calming. The views from the bar, restaurant, and lounge are also excellent. If only the pool were a bit larger, it would be perfect.

    The only slight disappointment was that I couldn’t sleep well.

    This was my second stay. All of the staff were very kind, and I was especially happy that the staff member who handled my check-in in January remembered me and spoke to me again this time—it really left a lasting impression. Because my stay in January was so wonderful, I chose to stay again. The service, meals, and Facilities were excellent, and I was also delighted that I could see Osaka Castle from my Room. I had a very comfortable stay overall. However, there was one disappointing point. This time my Room was on the 8th floor, and at night I noticed noise and had trouble sleeping. I heard sounds like something dropping (2–4 times per hour), the air purifier noise, and outside traffic noise, and I couldn’t fall asleep until around 3–4 a.m. I still feel a bit tired even now. It’s unfortunate because I wanted this to be a great trip. Even so, thank you very much for extending my checkout until 1:00 p.m. In the remarks section at the time of Reservation, I requested a quiet Room. If I have the opportunity to stay again, I would appreciate it if you could assign me a quieter Room on a more quiet floor next time.

    An Elegant Moment

    We arrived at the Hotel well before check-in time, but were welcomed with tea in the lobby and promptly shown to our Room. The interior had subtle Japanese touches throughout, perfectly matching the location overlooking Osaka Castle—it was wonderful. The Room was spacious with an excellent layout, making our stay truly comfortable. Afternoon tea was delightful, with not only great food but also attentive service, allowing us to enjoy an elegant time. For breakfast, we could order from an à la carte menu at the table, and the buffet selection was extensive—every dish and every bit of hospitality was outstanding. We would definitely love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    We had an exceptionally luxurious stay.

    I chose a Room with an Osaka Castle view, and not only was the night scenery wonderful, but the sunrise was also stunning—I had an amazing time. I treated myself to a Hotel stay, and all the staff I met at the gym, breakfast, and bar were very friendly and welcoming with warm smiles, which made me want to come back for sure. Next time, I’d like to consider afternoon tea and using the spa as well. Thank you very much!

    The Best Hotel

    We stayed here for a special anniversary. I had often visited for afternoon tea and had been curious about this Hotel, and finally stayed in a Junior Suite. The Room was so beautiful and truly soothing. Above all, the Room was spotless. There wasn’t even any dust on the window frames—I was impressed by how thorough the cleaning was. The amenities and minibar were well stocked, and the tea was especially delicious. We also had a JPY 20,000 credit included, so we used room service. The potage soup was unbelievably good—so delicious I wanted to drink it again and again. Dinner while enjoying the night view of Osaka Castle felt truly special and was amazing. When I mentioned in advance that it was our anniversary, we received a cake as a welcome amenity. The service was excellent and the hospitality outstanding—we’re very glad we chose to stay here. We will definitely return.

    It was a one-of-a-kind stay with exceptional service.

    The Room with an Osaka Castle view has large windows and offers a breathtaking, panoramic outlook. With no tall buildings nearby, there is no sense of being closed in, and you can fully enjoy the wonderful scenery. It was a birthday stay, and we were truly moved by the thoughtful birthday card and the beautifully presented cake they prepared for us! Every staff member provided excellent service with such warm and pleasant hospitality, making our stay very comfortable. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and everything was delicious. There were so many things I wanted to try, but I got too full to eat them all, which was a shame. The homemade jam, sakura danish, and French toast were especially good. This has become a Hotel I would definitely like to visit again.

    One of my recent favorites.

    An international-brand Hotel atmosphere. The Hotel itself is compact, yet refined with tasteful, sophisticated interiors. The amenities are Bamford. However, they come in refillable full-size bottles. Amenities can become part of your travel memories. Providing mini bottles that guests can take home would leave a better impression. Breakfast is a buffet with half-order options. Since the lineup was unchanged from my previous stay, I felt more variety and creativity are needed. Although the location is not the most convenient to access, the one-of-a-kind view of Osaka Castle right in front of you is unmatched.

    My husband took me here because it was my birthday month, and everything was outstanding—the location and the hospitality were both excellent.     This was my second stay. I enjoyed my previous visit, so I came back again. I’ve added another Patina original tote bag to my collection—it’s very handy. Also, this Hotel offers a wide variety of breakfast options, and I was satisfied from the morning. The staff were charming and wonderful.

    This was my second stay. During my previous visit, which was during the Expo period, the Hotel had only recently opened, and there were times when the explanations felt somewhat insufficient and communication among staff did not seem fully aligned. This time, however, those issues had improved significantly, and I felt a high level of hospitality throughout the property. The staff support was smooth, and I was able to enjoy a comfortable stay. I was also pleased that the à la carte breakfast menu had expanded, making it easier than before to choose and place orders. Overall, it was an even more satisfying stay than last time. One request: with road closures in front of the Hotel due to the Osaka Marathon traffic restrictions, it would be helpful for guests if this information were posted earlier on the official website or similar channels so we can plan transportation in advance. Other than that, I am very satisfied. I would definitely like to stay again.

    Excellent service.

    I was especially grateful for the support from the breakfast restaurant staff. One of them had experience at several well-known Hotels, and I received excellent service. I was able to enjoy breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere. There is plenty to enjoy within the Hotel, and I would definitely like to visit again.

    Top-tier Hotel

    1. Osaka Castle View: This view is simply unbelievable. “Something View” Rooms are often not truly front-facing, but if you book an Osaka Castle View Room here, you can enjoy a straight-on view with sunrise, sunset, and the night scenery. Even if you don’t stay in a view Room, you can still take in the spectacular scenery from the front desk and the bar floor. 2. Their commitment to food and drinks is exceptional. The cocktails made at the bar are outstanding. The breakfast buffet selection is excellent as well—each item feels carefully chosen and delicious (tofu, ham, yogurt, pastries). With a health-focused concept overall, sugar is kept low and nothing is overly sweet—true attention to detail. 3. During the campaign, this price was an incredible value with breakfast included plus a JPY 10,000 credit. Thank you, IKYU. 4. There was a doorman who could not speak Japanese, which made it feel less suited for Japanese guests. Since this role shapes first impressions at the entrance, my initial impression was very poor—being told “I cannot speak Japanese” as a guest made me think, “Where am I?” That said, my husband is foreign so perhaps they assumed we preferred that; it may also be that they are instructed not to approach Japanese guests first. Overall though, the staff service was very friendly—many young Asian staff members—and we received very kindhearted service throughout our stay. 5. The gym and pool are state-of-the-art facilities. However, there were only three shower booths in the washing area and only four vanity stations—and there were no cosmetic amenities at all (which is rare). It wasn’t an issue because there were no other users at the time; I do wonder how it would be during peak season. 6. The Room was also excellent—spacious—with panoramic windows facing Osaka Castle.View When you enter the Room,the sheer shade automatically rises,and even that touch of showmanship was perfect.You can even see Osaka Castle fromthe toilet ifyou leave door open.The hangerand drawer space felt small relative to size ofthe Room,suggesting it’s aimed more at 1–2 night stays.The best part for me was having an entryway space where you remove your shoes—most hotels don’t have this,and I loved it. 7.Location: Most sightseeing routes in Osaka run southward from around Osaka Station,making this Hotel somewhat out ofthe way.Taxis are needed(around JPY 3 ,000 toOsaka Station).It’s just overa 5-minute walk tothe station.There aren’t any restaurants or shops nearby.Since we stayed in winterand didn’t wantto walk around much,we enjoyed spending time atthe Hotelso it worked well for us .

    It was a truly fulfilling stay.

    From arrival until departure the next day, I had a very comfortable stay. I had read Reviews about the service in advance, but now that more than six months have passed since opening, the staff seem to have become highly experienced, and I felt no stress at all. On the contrary, I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by name many times throughout the Hotel, and everyone welcomed me with such warm smiles. Whether in the lobby, the restaurant, or the wellness floor on the 4th floor, I felt truly relaxed and refreshed. The turndown service also included thoughtful touches that made me think, “Yes—this is it,” for the first time in a while, and I could really sense the strength of this brand’s Hotel and how high its standards are. This stay made me a complete Patina fan. Listening to my favorite music through the B&O speakers while taking in the view from my Room facing Osaka Castle was genuinely enriching. If I have the chance, I would love to return.

    The facility is excellent, but there are many service issues, which is disappointing.

    Stayed one night in Osaka for an event. The new facilities are excellent, clean, stylish, and provide a wonderful atmosphere. However, the service level of the staff was quite low, leading to numerous issues that made the experience not worth the accommodation cost. - Afternoon Tea at "Nijiri" Upon arrival, I was feeling a bit hungry and asked the staff if I could make a reservation for afternoon tea. They kindly made one for me. About 30 minutes later, I confirmed my reservation and headed to the venue at the reserved time. However, there were no staff members inside—only customers—and I had no idea how to enter. After waiting about 5 minutes with no choice left, I inquired with lobby staff who escorted me and facilitated entry into "Nijiri." The afternoon tea itself was enjoyable with good service from their team. - Room phone designated for services not connecting during operating hours Returning to the hotel around 10:30 PM, I decided to use in-room dining services at approximately 10:50 PM by calling through my room phone as instructed. Despite multiple attempts over 10 minutes of ringing tones without any response from anyone on duty (service ends at 11 PM), frustratedly went down elevator hallways trying internal lines instead where finally someone answered explaining situation saying “Oh right!” but clocked past deadline already (11:01). Asked whether exceptions possible under such circumstances; placed hold another seven-minute wait before refusal outrightly given while standing awkwardly nearby elevators still awaiting resolution further escalated complaints towards appropriate personnel only having call disconnected abruptly mid-conversation thereafter eventually reaching responsible manager handling properly afterward apologetically though too late resolving initial inconvenience caused earlier altogether unsatisfactorily overall experience felt lacking professionalism expected standards maintained otherwise elsewhere comparably better alternatives available likely preferred future stays elsewhere instead regrettably disappointing outcome here unfortunately encountered firsthand personally speaking     Very good.

    The hygiene is excellent as the facilities are new, and even areas like the sauna, which tend to wear out easily, were pleasant to use. The staff provided friendly service with a touch of Osaka charm while maintaining politeness and perfect timing. The breakfast is delicious. You can also enjoy truly stunning views of Osaka Castle. The view alone makes it worth staying here. Highly recommended Hotel!

    This was my first stay this year. I stayed twice last year, and every time I visit, the atmosphere is wonderful, making it one of my favorite hotels. I personally love it, but my partner loves it even more, so I would like to use this accommodation not only for regular stays but also for special occasions like anniversaries. It would be great if there were special plans or if something could be arranged upon prior request. As a guest's personal wish, I hope you can consider this favorably. Whenever we enter the room, we always feel delighted by the thoughtful touches provided. Additionally, as guests with some selfish requests at times, we are grateful for your flexible responses to our small demands and truly appreciate your efforts. Thank you very much! From what I've heard from the staff members, they are constantly trying to figure out how to make guests feel more welcomed every day through trial and error—this is truly admirable thinking! Recently in Osaka, many hotels have opened; however, including existing ones so far in the area too—I believe yours has potential as one representing Osaka itself someday soon!     Excellent hospitality.

    We dined at a Basque cuisine restaurant and found both the food and staff delightful, so we decided to stay at the accommodation. It exceeded our expectations, with friendly staff making it our favorite hotel. The breakfast was delicious, and we also recommend the cakes and bread from the bakery on the first floor. When we purchased a cake, the staff kindly delivered it to our room.

    It was a wonderful time.

    I stayed at the accommodation for a solo birthday trip. During my stay, there was thoughtful attention to detail, such as asking if there was anything I needed help with or if I had any concerns, making it a pleasant experience. Thank you also for preparing a surprise cake during my stay. I would love to visit again.

    Favorite Hotel

    First of all, the view is amazing! You can enjoy a direct view of Osaka Castle, its surrounding stone walls and trees, the skyscrapers in Umeda in the distance, the vast sky, and airplanes heading to Itami Airport one after another—it’s truly a sight you’ll never tire of. The Room interior is simple yet modern with a warm touch, making it very comfortable. The furniture and decor were so stylish that I found myself wanting to have similar items for my own home! For dining, I used the restaurant on the first floor. Although there seemed to be an issue with their kitchen Facility at that time, the staff provided such excellent service with kindness and professionalism that it turned into a memorable experience for me. It was truly delightful! For a stroll, Osaka Castle Park is perfect. A leisurely walk takes about an hour—such a refreshing experience. I imagine it would be even more stunning during cherry blossom or plum blossom season. Although this was just a one-night stay, I felt completely refreshed. Thank you so much! I look forward to visiting again in the future—please take care until then!

    Despite the wait during check-in due to the crowd, the exceptional Patina quality made up for everything. It turned out to be an absolutely perfect stay that erased all initial concerns. Thank you for making it a great start to the year!

    Stunning view of Osaka Castle

    There were no Diamond Member benefits from IKYU. Since there is nothing around the Hotel, it becomes a stay-in style. The in-room dining menu was limited; having an Italian restaurant would have been nice.

    Capella Hotel Group's First Entry into Japan

    The environment and atmosphere of the Hotel were very relaxing. During my visit, most of the guests were foreigners, but I was able to enjoy a quiet stay. I especially loved the steam mode in the guest room shower. The amenities were made from eco-friendly materials like bamboo and paper, reflecting efforts to minimize environmental impact. The view of Osaka Castle Park was also fantastic. Everything was great, but there are three points I hope can be improved: 1) The hospitality at reception (check-in and check-out) could be enhanced a bit more. If foreign staff improve their Japanese skills slightly, it would make explanations easier to understand (I found it hard to catch everything as they explained while guiding me to the elevator). *However, one male Caucasian staff member at the spa reception counter (sorry I forgot his name) spoke fluent Japanese and demonstrated perfect Japanese-style hospitality! Truly what you’d expect from a luxury hotel! 2) At the pool area, there wasn’t a permanent lifeguard on duty. There were no staff around either, so in case of any issues, contacting someone by phone seemed to be the only option. While drink service (paid) appeared available for order, no one was present; I ended up using self-service water instead. 3) No kids’ services available: Unlike other luxury hotels that offer kids' amenities such as plush toys with hotel branding or workshops for children’s activities, there weren’t any such services here despite many families with children staying during my visit. It would be great if these kinds of services could be added in the future. Capella Hotel Bangkok often ranks first or among top positions in "World’s Best Hotels 50," so I look forward to seeing Patina Japan grow further as well! If I have another chance to visit Osaka again someday, I’d love to stay here once more. Thank you very much!

    There is a lack of communication among the staff.

    There were many discrepancies between the information provided over the phone and the actual experience, which was surprising. We recommend using email or chat for inquiries to ensure there is a record. Regarding afternoon tea at Nijiri, the seating arrangements we confirmed in advance were not communicated to the staff. We chose this location over P72 because of seating preferences but felt it was a mistake. Additionally, despite being told it would be quiet, there was a group with a baby making noise and clapping hands, ruining the atmosphere (it seemed appropriate for staff to intervene). If there are two locations within the Hotel offering afternoon tea, perhaps Nijiri should implement an age restriction to differentiate itself from P72. Other issues included discrepancies in benefits for IKYU Diamond members compared to what we were informed beforehand. The turndown service also occurred at a completely different time than what we had requested from our Room. Overall, it felt like information shared via phone calls was not properly communicated among staff. On a positive note, the pool area was quiet due to many international guests being out sightseeing. The atmosphere was pleasant with a jacuzzi available and views of Osaka Castle providing relaxation. The pool staff stood out as being exceptionally polite and kind. While some issues may stem from this being a newly opened Hotel, improvements in internal communication are necessary.
